Chapter 45

Chapter 0045: The Dark :

Lord Baltimore's long red cape billowed around his muscular body. His hard emerald eyes gazed upon the first village between HammerFall and the Black East. He was under orders to await Lord Kotipelli's arrival before attacking. He had no plans of going against Master Anaal's orders; and yet it was hard to keep the lesser demon minnions back from attacking the town.

He smiled as he saw the figure on the black horse headed towards his army. He felt certain that this rider could be none other then Kotipelli finally showing up. He knelt before the horse and the it's one eyed, blonde rider.

"Lord Kotipelli, I await your orders from Lord Anaal." Baltimore spoke solemnly.

Kotipelli looked drained and more wane a figure then Baltimore remembered him as being. He looked like a man that had been beaten, and abused and then chewed up before being spitted out. This was a man that had been broken. His solitary eye seemed filled with loathing and despair.

Kotipelli snapped, "What are you waiting upon me for. Send out the lesser demons, fool." He kicked Baltimore hard to the head; that sent the man flying backwards. It was the last thing he had expected, and then the demons howled as they had their orders to finally attack and ravage the village. The War had now truly begun.

His eyes opened; but he did not at first believe what he gazed upon in this field of blackness and mists. He saw the platnium blond male waiting patiently with a scowl upon his face.

"I have come with aid in the World of Deams to speak with you, Wizard Rosenbrim." The tone was harsh and angry. He shivered slightly in a mixture of fright and delight. Stephen rarely took that stern tone; unless he was quite upset with him.

Magnus felt so nervous standing before Stephen at this moment. He knew from the air that this was a high level spell that he had been pulled into during his dreams. His every sense was alert and active in this dreamworld as though it were the true world.

"What about?" He inquired nervously.

Stephen scowled at him, "You know what about Maggie. You let yourself get captured. Why? Why the hell would you abandon me like this?"

The distance rapidily closed between them, and soon he felt those strong arms holding desparately onto him and that soft voice whispering into his ear, "Why? I love you. You have to come back to me, Maggie."

Rosenbrim pushed back slightly as tears fell from his eyes, "I can't. I'm a prisoner here at Shadow Keep in almost the heart of the Black East. And worse...." He trailed off; unable to inform his king that he had failed at his family's secret and sacred duty; guardianship of Elgard's Eye. It was in the hands of a madman now. And to make matters worse this insane male was of the line of both Stormblade and Rosenbrim whom was a sorcerious swordsman of no small talent.

Tears leaked from his eyes. He felt Stephen's tongue gently licking them. "It's okay. I'll come rescue you. By myself if I have to. I won't let them make you suffer any longer."

The two bodies had abruptly become nude and yet were wrapped in warm, soft mists. It felt good to have his body so closely pressed against Stephen's once more.

**********************************

Marduk knelt before the Emperor. His eyes locked to the floor as Gorgoroth sat in the Prince's throne.

"This is a most unexpected visit, your Imperial Majesty. May I be so bold as to inquire into the nature of this visit, my Emperor?"

Gorgoroth raised up a hand, "A new world is waiting to be born for those like us, Marduk. The age of humans is coming to an end. Only the Demon Lords should be allowed to rule over these pathetic creatures that call themselves mortals. I have come to see that my theory is correct. And so far it is true. You have done far more with your leadership over this land then your 'father'." The way he had spoken the word made it sound like an insult. But it was no insult to Marduk. He knew better. His true father was not the dead king at all. He had had his suspicions; but he would need confirmation before he could make his next move.

He smiled, "What a strange thing to say about yourself, Gorgoroth. After all, it was you that creapt into this very palace to impregnate my mother."

There was a moment of awkward and dark silence as those cold eyes locked into Marduk's own.
