White Day - Part 2

A/N: After someone yelled at me *coughTieracough* I had to post the next chapter. Gee, I\'m productive at work. Instead of doing my paperwork, I\'m writing stories. ... Oh well!!! This is where I would rather be!

Chapter 49 – White Day – Part 2
An Hour Earlier

“I can’t believe they actually expelled you!” Kyoei said from his place at the dining room table, next to Shai, who was looking tired and bloated, and still lovely. Mr. Taiikuka looked anything but pleased with the man who sat too close to his daughter, but was doing his best to be cordial. Amatsu sat next to Fuji, who was standing through most of the dinner, serving food and pouring drinks, enjoying the part of hostess. It reminded Mr. Taiikuka of Fuji’s mother, the way she looked when she was young and had been in love and had hosted dinner parties. He would never tell Fuji how much she reminded him of her mother, but he could see it in her every movement. Ever Noriko Chenbaro had been lovely at that age, as she would be if she ever let her hair down, but Fuji held a charisma and life that her mother could never attempt to have.

“Well, they did not exactly expel me,” Fuji said, sitting once more beside Amatsu and across from Shai. “I’m allowed to finish this school year, since there is only a little over one month left, but next year both Danko and I have to go to a different school. We are not allowed back. It’s harsh, and at the same time it is forgiving.”

“It’s worse for Danko,” Amatsu agreed. “It will be her senior year and it is at a whole new school. She’ll never make friends with her attitude.”

“Let’s talk about something pleasant,” Mr. Taiikuka interrupted. “Like, Kyoei, what do you do for a living?”

Kyoei tried not to smile. “I’m a deejay like Amatsu, we even work together. I also go to school full time.”

“You have a lot of time to spend with my daughter for someone so busy,” Mr. Taiikuka pointed out.

“Dad,” Shai whined helplessly.

Fuji gave Mr. Taiikuka a winning smile that always frightened him when he saw it. “Come on, Shinji,” she said happily, “it’s not like he can get her pregnant.”

A projectile biscuit bopped Fuji on the head. She reached up and cried out, “Ow!” though Shinji was laughing.

“My own father starting a food fight,” Shai sighed unhappily. She grinned, though, because it meant that Mr. Taiikuka was trying his hardest to be a tough dad, but was succeeding only in loving the two girls before him.

Dinner went well, with Fuji’s cooking it could do nothing but. Dessert went better, made by a very crabby pregnant girl, who beamed at the praise she received for her hard work.

It went by all too fast.

“I have to go,” Amatsu said sadly. “I have three tests tomorrow I till have to study for. Fuji is such a distraction for my grades.”

“Funny,” Fuji joked, “my grades are still perfect.”

Amatsu tugged the strands of her hair that were well recovered since her locks had been shorn away. It almost felt like a jealous and greedy mother has never torn them off so violently. “Walk me to the door,” he demanded sweetly.

“Excuse us,” Fuji smiled.

“Thank you for dinner, Mr. Taiikuka,” Amatsu said politely, giving a slight bow at the waist. “Shai, take care, Kyoei, I will see you later.”

Fuji and Amatsu walked to the door. Mr. Taiikuka raised an eyebrow at Kyoei. “Don’t you have to study or something?” he asked gruffly, though his eyes twinkled with happiness. He had never seen his daughter so happy to be with someone, and this someone liked her even pregnant.

Fuji and Amatsu stood outside of the door, his body pressing hers against the door, his lips smothering hers. She had her arms wrapped around his neck and one leg raised enough to entwine itself around him and pull him closer. “I’m sorry to see you go,” she mumbled through the kiss.

“I’m sorry to go,” he said breathlessly in return, kissing her harder once more.

His hands traveled up her body, and for a quick moment she felt like she would give herself to him right then, all over again. She did not care if she stood on the porch of her father’s house, or that said father and sister and boyfriend’s best friend were inside, she yearned for Amatsu, and every time she saw him that yearning grew.

“Go,” Fuji insisted, pushing him away weakly. “Go before I do not let you.”

“Would that be so bad?” he asked, coming back for more, his lips against hers so forcibly she cried out, but not out of pain.

“Tests,” she cried out. “You must take your tests, and pass.”

Amatsu nodded, pulling away so abruptly both of them hurt with their aching. “I will see you tomorrow,” he promised. “After my classes you and I will…”

Fuji was shaking her head. “No,” she insisted. “This is better. It is better to just be… good. This way, when we finally do we will…”

Amatsu nodded knowingly, and yet he did not know all at the same time. He took a few steps back from her and gave her his winning smile, trying to shake the need and desire from his eyes. “I will call you tomorrow, and hopefully we can meet up for a few hours.”

Fuji nodded, suddenly very unsure of herself. “All right,” she smiled, and just leaned against the door watching him walk away.

His shadow was barely around the corner when she turned to go into the house. She had no time to reach for the doorknob. From the bushes emerged another shadow that clapped a hand over Fuji’s mouth and started dragging her onto the side of the house where they were not facing the street. Fuji struggled, biting at the hand that held her back. The person was stronger than her, forcing her down to the ground.

Fuji was suddenly face down on the ground and a rough voice was whispering into her ear. “You think you can escape from me,” Kago hissed at her. “You belong to me; you have always belonged to me.”

Kago released Fuji’s mouth and allowed her to breathe once more, but her face was so close to the ground that to inhale too deeply would only cause dirt and grass to go up her nose. “What are you doing?” she coughed out, trying to writhe her body in twists to throw Kago off her.

“I’m claiming you,” he hissed, and in one swift movement he had her skirt hiked up to her waist and he was pulling at her panties. The scream that Fuji let out could be heard for a mile, and Amatsu was only a block away. He heard the scream of his beloved and turned around so swiftly that barely anyone saw him move. People on the street would see him, and then the next second, he was gone.

The next scream came as almost an echo off the first one. Kago had swung the knife down and landed it into Fuji’s leg, tearing the muscle and ligaments until she could barely see from the pain he was causing, trying to dig it in further. “How dare you?” he was hissing. “How dare you alert the world?” The knife came out of her leg and plunged once more, this time into her right shoulder.

Mr. Taiikuka, Shai, and Kyoei were rushing from the house, coming to find what was happening. Kyoei had to pull Shai back before she went and threw Kago from Fuji’s body. It was Mr. Taiikuka who pulled the strong teenager from Fuji, who lie bloody on the ground…and still.

Kago swung around on Mr. Taiikuka, but the older man was swift, from days long gone by of soccer playing, and just barely missed being struck by Kago’s bloody knife. Amatsu showed up then, his eyes red rimmed with a fury he had never felt as his eyes fell on Kago, and then his eyes fell on Fuji, her body still, her face pale. Amatsu lunged, but Kago was too far away for the simple burst of speed to catch him. Kago jumped the fence and was off, Amatsu was right behind him, chasing him down the street.

Kyoei pulled out his cell phone and dialed the emergency phone number. Shai pulled out her phone and dialed Yuki, too hysterical to even go close to Fuji’s bloodied body. Mr. Taiikuka ran to his eldest daughter and began to gather her into his arms.
