Chapter 42
Chapter 0042: Apathy for a Dying World:
Rosenbrim looked up into those eyes with fear. He had never seen anything with such fierce power of sorcery before. He gasped as he saw what the dark haired man wore around his muscular neck. It was the Eye of Elgard. His fingers desparately reached up for it only to have them swatted away with sufficient force to make them sting.
"It belongs to me. That jewel is the charge of the Rosenbrim line." Magnus said, some of his old power of authority returning to his voice.
The dark haired male only smiled, "Ah but I am Rosenbrim as well, cousin. And this, Eye of Elgard, is my birthright as a Stormblade and a Rosenbrim. For was it not the House of Stormblade that charged the protection of this artifact from the ancient war?"
Magnus gasped. The more he looked at this mercenary of Iced Earth the more features he saw in common. It was almost possible that they could have been twins. His emerald eyes were locked with those frozen depths. "Then why have I never seen you before?"
He laughed, "Because my line of the family tree had been exiled into the Black East. We used the forbidden sorcery of demons."
Rosenbrim had remember hearing as a child of the Warlocks of Rosenbrim; but he had never thought he would come face to face with one of them. He felt the hand clamp down over his chin. He squirmed beneath the tight hold; despite being chained and bound.
"You will not tell anyone of what we have spoken. It has been along time since I have met with anyone in my family, cousin. I had momentary weakness to see someone of the same blood again." that smile on this man's lips turned his stomach for a reason he little understood. "Here the fools think I am a Warlock Warrior named Aes'danan. But we know better don't we, Rosenbrim. I have you to thank for my promotion after all. If you had not come I would not have been able to inform Lord Schaller about the Eye of Elgard."
He shivered as he felt his cousin's lips pressed against his own in an emotionless kiss. "But why? Why aid Iced Earth?"
Laughter that sent cold chills down his spine answered Magnus. "Why? Ha. Ha. Ha. Because I shall see the death of this world in a great war that shall end everything. And then using the powers of Elgard I shall recreate a world worthy of existence instead of this slowly dying hell."
Rosenbrim reached out for his departuring cousin; but his hands caught hold of only air as he sat in his cell. He did not know what to think. The whole world around him had been turned upside down since he had allowed himself to be captured. He had thought that he'd get the chance to get close and save his sister. But those plans seemed unlikely. He had to devise a plan; one that involved getting back the Eye of Elgard before it became to tainted with demonic magic.

Magnus' eyes opened slowly with pain. They hurt from the light invading his night's sleep. He knew whom it was. The long red hair resting on the male's shoulder only confirmed that it was Ryan Schaller, leader of Iced Earth Horde.
"I have come to tell you. Your sister is dead. The Stormblade has defected and killed her. But do not worry, The Stormblade was taken care of very fittingly." Ryan smugly told this all to Rosenbrim.
He shuddered at the breath upon his cheek as he felt Ryan kneeling over his chained up form. The hand caressed at his cheek made him want to bit it off; but he knew that it would get him nowhere and only anger Schaller and cause him more pain. Tears fell from Rosenbrim's eyes; he wasn't sure if it was true. He couldn't believe the words of these evil mercenaries; but if it was true then his letting himself be captured was truly meaningless. He shuddered again as he felt that hot tongue lick away at the tears falling from his eyes. Then once more he felt the lips of the demon blooded warlord upon him. He wanted to push away and scream; but as a prisoner he was trapped. The tongue rammed its way into his mouth with force.
