Nakir was sitting in his favorite chair reading a story to Laziel as the child sat on his lap. He turned his gaze towards the window when a cool breeze rolled in, causing the pages of the book to flip and the lantern to flicker. Outside he could see a large pair of wings and a dark silhouette slowly descending with beams of moonlight shining all around the figure. It wasn't until Raziel landed that he knew it was him. "Oh it looks like your uncle Raziel is here. Odd he's visiting rather late..." Carefully he set down the book then picked Laziel up into his arms, carrying the boy with him as he made his way to the door to let Raziel in. "Sofi! Raz is here." He called out for his wife then smiled at the archangel in greeting. He paused as he noticed the somber expression on Raziel's face and that he was clutching a small velvet box so tightly his knuckles were white. "Hey, are you okay? Come inside and have a seat."
Raziel nodded lightly, his facial expression was a hallow as he felt. He had not let go of the ring box since Gabriel had left him and he was in a state of shock after everything that had happened. He didn't know whether to cry or scream in rage. All he knew was that he was in pain and he didn't want to be all alone. Sofiel was always there for him, and now he needed the cherubim more than ever. "I'm sorry to come over so late like this... I-I really need to talk to Sofi." He said in a small voice as he followed Nakir inside to the living room and sat down on the couch. He lowered his gaze then to the box in his hand and rested it on his lap.

Sofiel came at Nakir's call and his eyes widened when he sensed the strange sense of gloom in the air. Even Laziel looked disturbed by it and he clung tight to his sire. Sofiel looked the archangel over a moment, then turned to his husband. “Nakir, why don't you tuck Laziel in and finish the story in bed? I think I need to have a talk with Raziel.” The cherubim went and kissed by husband and son goodnight before going to join his desolate companion on the couch.
“Raziel, what's wrong?” He asked immediately, his brow creasing in concern. “You don't look well...” Re: Elysium

Nakir frowned slightly and kissed Sofiel goodnight as he carried Laziel off to his room and left the two breeders be. Raziel sat looking at the ring box in his hand forlornly, silent and grim before he finally managed to look up at Sofiel. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come over. I don't mean to always burden you and your family with my troubles..." He said lightly, noticing how his mood seemed to have brought everyone down. "It's just... things were going so well between Gabriel and I, and I wanted to tell him how I felt and propose to him... but he... he..." Raziel squeezed the ring box harder until it started to creak and groan under his grip. "He deceived me all this time. He wasn't broken at all, he just didn't want to mate with me. He thinks I am like every other monster he'd ever been in service to." Raziel paused a moment and took a long breath, trying to calm himself. "I caught him, Sofi. I caught him having sex with Nemiel." He grit out, a flash of anger overcoming his features. Re: Elysium

“...Oh.” Sofiel said after several moments of awkward silence as he tried to process what Raziel was telling him. He had expected that when the archangel came that it was because of some sort of trouble with Gabriel, since it usually was. He just had not been expecting this and he was at a loss for words. “He...so he wasn't impotent?” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Today at 1:27am
Raziel shook his head quietly. "No. He's been lying to me from the very start. Only after I caught him did he fess up and say why... He didn't want to give me his seed or have children with me because he thinks I'm out to use him and abuse him. He doesn't see me at all, he only sees the ghosts from his past. Either way, I don't think I can forgive him after this... I think it's truly over now. Whatever we had is dead and there's no time to pick up the pieces. I have to return to the lower realm and fight for Elysium, I don't have time to care about Gabriel anymore. I refuse to be hurt by that bastard again." Re: Elysium

Sofiel did not know what to say; he had no advice to give Raziel in this. After a moment, he reached out and pulled the other breeder into a gentle hug. “I'm sorry, Raziel. I really am.” Sofiel murmured, feeling tears prick his eyes in sympathy. “I thought you would be right for each other, it seemed...I wish it had been different.” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Today at 1:44am
Raziel finally let the ring box go, letting it fall to the couch as he wrapped his arms around Sofiel and buried his face against the cherubim. He trembled slightly and closed his eyes as more tears started to fall. "I should have never tried to get close to him. I never wanted a man, I never wanted to feel this way." He sniffed and then started to sob lightly. He had already done most of the heavy crying after Gabriel had left, crumpling to the Dominion's bedroom floor. "I feel so pathetic, always crying and acting weak. I can't be like this when I go back to the front, I have to forget all of this happened somehow." Re: Elysium

“Shh, you're not pathetic or weak. You just had your first heartbreak, of course it will hurt. But you'll be stronger and wiser later because of it.” Sofiel murmured, rubbing Raziel's back in soothing circles. “I know you'll be yourself when you return to battle, you were always one of the best...but if you really feel you can't do it, perhaps you should ask for a little leave time so you can recover?” Re: Elysium

Raziel sniffed and shook his head. "No, it will be good for me to go back out there. I've had enough time off and I could use something to take my mind off Gabriel. The only bad part is he's going to be fighting with me. He's supposed to defend and protect me, but I'd prefer if he didn't come along or if he was in a different battalion. Maybe I should just dismiss him, then I don't have to fight with him." Raziel slowly pulled away from Sofiel then and wiped his eyes. "There's no point in letting him linger, is there? He'll just move on to the next fool and the cycle will continue on and on until Gabriel finally runs out of angels to serve." Re: Elysium

“Or...or someone has him executed.” Sofiel pointed out quietly. “If he does the same thing to someone else, they might just have him killed. But if you think it's best to get rid of him now, then you should. I don't want to see you suffer because of this.” Re: Elysium

Raziel stiffened slightly when Sofiel mentioned Gabriel being executed. Even if he was a lying, cheating bastard, he would never want him to be killed. Raziel knew his feelings for Gabriel would not simply fade to dust overnight, and the thought of someone taking the Dominion's life made his feathers bristle and his stomach knot. "No, if that would be his fate than he is better off staying with me... He can live out his days fucking my servants for all I care. He won't be sharing my bed anymore, that's all." He sighed and his shoulders slumped. "I should probably be going, it's late and I'm sure you'd like to go to bed. I'm sorry for always burdening you with my troubles Sofi, but I feel a bit better now just having someone to listen. Thank you." Raziel then reached over to give Sofiel another hug and kissed his cheek. "And don't worry about me, I'll weather this storm."
Four days later...
The days seemed to pass all too quickly when the messenger arrived at Raziel’s estate with a rolled piece of parchment containing the Queen’s wax seal. It was a royal command for him to gather up his forces and join the fight that was escalating in the lower realm far north of the desert country in a mountainous, wooded region they called the Northlands. Raziel was somehow grateful for it, having had spent his last bit of leave time either at Sofiel and Nakir’s place to take his mind off his troubles, or holed up in his room sleeping much of his days away in depression. He hadn’t seen Gabriel since he had gone to propose to him and discovered the Dominion’s secret. He had kept the rings, however, tucking them away in his clothes drawer like a bitter-sweet memento. Killing demons would do him good and help take his mind off of the tall blonde, at least he hoped it would. He wasn’t certain if Gabriel would be at his side when he went to fight as he was bound to do.
The archangel made his way into his armory and gazed at the garbs he would don before soaring off to battle. He reached out to gingerly stroke the firm, strong fabric. His armor was a white hooded robe with decorative etched silver and gold plating, and bronze, black, and pale red leather stitched into the chest and pants to reinforce it, making it thicker in case the mage wound up in a close range combat situation. Off to the side were plate gauntlets, arm guards, and shoulder guards custom crafted to fit the slender breeder. The right shoulder guard was bronze with a thick leather belt that wrapped around the chest, whereas the left was made of silver scales and decorated with a plume of white feathers. He also had matching plate boots that rode high up to the knees. He tied his hair up into a messy bun then and stripped out of his simple, flowing white waist wrap. He was no longer the archangel that wanted to be married and have children. It was time to become Raziel the High General once again. Somehow that thought comforted him, he was meant to be a warrior. The life Sofiel shared with Nakir was never meant to be his. He worked on his under robes first, and then the outer robes, securing it with a thick leather belt around his waist and his shoulder guards with straps around the chest. He groaned at the weight of the plate pieces as he strapped up his gauntlets and pulled on his boots. Normally he would have his servants help him put his gear on, but ever since the incident with Gabriel and Nemiel, he left his servants alone, not caring to see any of them.
Once he was completely dressed in his war garb he then walked over to grab his staff. It was nearly as long as he was, made of etched silver and crystal, finely crafted and imbued with his power. The round orb at the end of it glowed faintly and was full of small electrical sparks. Raziel held it in his hands and thought of all the demons he had slain from up high, sending down lightning bolts that would kill instantly within a split second. I’m ready. He thought to himself as he made his way outside, his heavy boots clinking against the marble. Once he reached a balcony he spread his wings and jumped, letting the wind catch in his feathers before making his way to his waiting army. He had already been briefed on the situation down below and had heard tales of naga reinforcements from the desert lands. Some of his men spoke of a white and red devil, saying their men bore white and red banners and were fiercer than the troops native to the Northlands. The bolstering of the northlanders forces was taking its toll on the Celestials and as Raziel landed before his troops, he began to feel a slight apprehension.
His army alone was 200,000 strong and they stood lined up before the Pearl gates in organized rows, ready to take flight from Elysium and take on the demonic hordes below. Raziel landed before them, his eyes scanning over the troops in search of one particular man. He realized what he was doing then and stopped himself, gripping his staff tighter. Who cares if he shows up or not. He’s no longer my concern. He thought bitterly before raising up his staff to draw silence from his women, breeders, and men. “Warriors of the Celestial Guard, today you will honor your Queen and bring glory to Elysium. The white and red devils will know our wrath and we will avenge our fallen sisters and brethren who have been mutilated and killed. They cut off our wings and prevent our people from ever returning to Elysium, we cannot allow this to go on! Keep in mind, however, we do not simply fight for revenge. The Northlands contain a wealth of resources and if we have any hopes of reaping the harvest, we must make sure it is safe for our people. Those wretched demons are stubborn, but they are also crude barbarians. We will show them who is the dominant species and we will take their lands! For the Queen and for Elysium!” He shouted and the roar of soldiers carried his words like a chant as they raised their weapons to the sky over and over.
Raziel then lowered his staff and commanded the guards to open the Pearl gates. They had been fighting against the demons for so many centuries that the reasons why no longer seemed justified in his mind. They were conquerors, invading the demon’s lands, killing their people, and stealing what was rightfully theirs. He knew there was no way to truly defend what they were doing, and he was never certain why the Queen wanted their resources to begin with. All he knew was he was honor bound to carry out her wishes until his dying breath. It was too late to question the war now. As his soldiers started to take flight, Raziel stood aside and waited. Something was holding him back and he knew it was Gabriel. Part of him wanted to see the tall Dominion clad in armor, looking like a fine and noble warrior. His heart ached to see him just once before taking flight, even though he was still angry and distraught over what Gabriel had done. He wished he could just move on, but he stood and waited for his Sire and sworn protector, watching thousands of angels go by and feeling the air swirl from the beating of so many wings. Re: Elysium

Gabriel did not return to Raziel's estate after the night that he left, choosing instead to isolate himself in his small apartments and pass the days in miserable solitude. He did not step outside again until the summons came that Raziel was returning to the front and thus, so was he. It was both a relief to be told he was going to battle again, but at the same time he was not ready yet to face the archangel again. Duty won out in the end, though and he donned his armor and took up his lance to go attend to it.
He arrived at the end of Raziel's little speech and watched as the angelic warriors rose to head to the Gates. He spotted the archangel right away, standing at the front in armor that was too finely made to belong to a mere grunt. Much like his own was, made of polished silver starmetal and gold aornite. He wore fine aornite mesh underneath it which was visible between the massive plates that covered his chest, shoulders, arms and legs. Even his wings were partially armored and a spiked halo hovered just behind his head, kept in place by a spell attached to his starmetal headband. The image of feathers was engraved in much of his armor, the shoulder pieces twisted up into hard representations of the object. His lance was nearly as tall as he was, made of the same metal as his armor and glowing with the flames that represented his own power. He came to land before Raziel, touching down heavily under the weight of his armor. He looked down at the archangel, his expression blank and giving away none of the inner turmoil that had plagued him since the night he had left.
“I am ready to serve, my lord.” He spoke, quiet and cold. “My life for your glory.”
Torina Mountains, Beseine
The winter had come hard in the mountains. There was a blizzard nearly every week and the soldiers spent as much time shoveling out the hidden cave fort as they did anything else. The snow had been so bad that the roads between the mountains and the main city of Beseine had become dangerous and they were reduced to only sending out small parties for much needed supplies. For Akai, it had also meant being cut off from his slave. Often he wondered how Kalim was faring in this brutal, unfamiliar weather. His slave was intelligent enough to take care of himself, but still, would it occur to him to stay at the Garden in the worst of it, where he would be close to energy sources? Did he know how to use the stove in their home or realize that he could melt snow when he needed fresh water and the wells were frozen? Was he even capable of starting a fire? Did he have enough food? If the roads in Beseine were as bad as they were up here, there was little chance that his usual caretakers were making it out to his out of the way home on the outskirts of the city.
It was the nights that made him miss his slave the most, however, when he was in his cold room, struggling to stay warm under the veritable mountain of furs and blankets he had. The nagas struggled the most in the colder climes and he as no exception. The frigid temperatures made him long for the warmth and comfort his slave could have offered. It was more than just physical pleasure that made him desire Kalim, however, and he wondered if Kalim missed him as well. They had not left on the best terms. Akai had punished the slave severely before he had left, for his inability to obey a direct order while out of the basilisk's presence. There had been no time after the punishment to soothe him afterward. Akai had left the very next day.
Akai banished those idle wonderings as soon as he stepped out of his private quarters and onto the snow white battlefield. The snow had fallen heavily the night before and the battlements were halfway buried. Soldiers were occupied with two things; clearing out the fort yet again and trying to stay warm. Akai could not blame them for the latter; the cold seemed to bite especially hard today. It seemed under the padded layers under his armor and even past the disgusting layer of juka fat that he had to smear on his scales every day to help insulate his tail and keep it dry. The risk of scales freezing and breaking off were high and he did not want to have to deal with festering frostbite wounds on top of everything else. The cold seemed to sink into his bones today and his hands trembled as they wrapped around his ivory bone bow, further irritating him.
“Avinash!” He snapped, his voice a harsh bark in the frigid air. Even breathing was difficult up here and he cursed the king once again for sending him. He looked around for signs of his fellow general, although the young naga had not completely stepped into his position. If anything, he acted more like a second in command, which suited Akai just fine. He preferred to be the one in charge and it was nice not having to argue all the time with a peer. He had sent the Red General off on the last patrol, the one each General did once a week. He doubted there would be anything to report this time; the celestials had been surprisingly quiet and Akai had considered more than once that this had all been a large waste of time. Re: Elysium

Raziel's breath nearly caught in his throat when Gabriel finally showed himself. He looked powerful and breathtaking in his richly decorated armor. The archangel wondered how he was able to fly or fight with so much heavy precious metal weighing him down. He supposed that would explain in part why he had such a muscular physique. He stood there just gaping at him for a moment, finding a part of himself that had missed the tall Dominion despite all the pain they had inflicted upon each other. He could see the lack of emotion on Gabriel's face then and he tried not to get his hopes up. Gabriel would never trust him or allow himself to love him, and the archangel had to accept it.
"You look well." He said simply, lowering his gaze a moment. "I'm glad you came, I wasn't certain you would. You had told me you take your duty to serve seriously, and I see you meant it." Raziel mustered a small smile then, somehow feeling safer knowing Gabriel would be fighting at his side. Though part of him wondered if the Dominion would truly protect him if his life came in danger, or if Gabriel would let him be slain out of spite. He tried to shake the unnerving thought as he spread his wings and lept into the air, making his way out of the Pearl gates and descending to the lower realm. He had an uneasy feeling that day, but he tried his best to ignore it and the air that grew intensely colder the lower he flew.
~~~
A month had passed since Avinash had narrowly saved Soma's life with the help of an elderly neighbor that happened to know his herbs and alchemy. Since that day the red naga was on edge, worried Soma would try something foolish again or find some way to end his life. It had been difficult for him to completely repair their shattered relationship and he inwardly cursed that he was stuck freezing his tail off up in the mountains, not knowing what might have been happening with his precious pet. As a precaution, he had shelled out some extra money to keep Soma housed within the Garden while he was on active duty. At least there the incubus would not be left alone. Avinash knew Soma would be incapable of caring for himself, he was not at all like Kalim. He was spoiled and used to being pampered, and the red naga knew he'd likely freeze or starve to death had he simply left him home alone. At least in the Garden he'd have the Feeders at his disposal and plenty of other slaves to keep him company. Surely Soma couldn't get into trouble there, or get his hands on anything unsavory and dangerous.
Avinash's jaw chattered much to his dismay as he stayed at his post, keeping an eye out for any Celestials that might be flying overhead. With the sky being grey and overcast, the angels seemed to blend in, and during bad weather it was nearly impossible to see them. The red naga wished his armor had been more covering and warm, realizing he was not truly prepared for such a harsh climate. It had been the first time he had ever even seen snow. At first he thought it beautiful, but soon he grew sick of the endless white and yearned for the familiar desert heat of Gehenna. All of the patrolling had started to make him antsy and the cold only made him more irritable. There hadn't been much action since he and Akai had arrived in Beseine, and Avinash had been disappointed that his wing collection was pitiful and he had barely enough feathers to make another pillow. His broad blade itched to be soaked in the blood of his enemies, at least then it would make the bitter cold and time away from his slave worth the hard, cold nights and equally difficult days.
He let out a long sigh then, gripping the hilt of his sword out of habit as his breath came out in cloudy plumes of vapor. Avinash had little care for angels. They were pests at best, and he didn't think they'd ever truly get a foothold in Beseine or Gehenna. They were frail creatures, though their magics were powerful and even deadly. On the ground, they had as good a chance as any demon in close combat, and once they were on his playing field, they didn't stand a chance. The winds began to pick up then and a feint but unusual sound came with it, snapping the red general from his thoughts as he peered out towards the horizon. His golden, slitted eyes went wide then as he spied what appeared to be a large moving cloud. As it drew closer he could make out thousands of beating wings. They soon dispersed, going in all directions.
As Akai called out, Avinash turned and made his way back to the basilisk as fast as he could slither through the wretched snow. "Celestials! Thousands of them! They're coming in fast from the east!" Avinash yelled, drawing his sword and then calling out to signal his men. It seemed his wish would finally come true and he'd have a chance to shed some blood and paint the snow red. At least then, perhaps he could get warm. Re: Elysium
Akai looked up when Avinash called out and his eyes narrowed behind the blindfold as he studied the gray skies. He could make out faint outlines at first, but they became more visible as they drew closer. He did a quick count and saw that even with the supply party away, they still outnumbered their enemy two to one. There was little to worry about anyway, since his was the best army and Avinash was more than formidable as a warrior. He snapped his fingers and a soldier immediately handed him his quiver of blackwood arrows. He slung it over his shoulder and drew one, fitting it in and taking aim with an expert eye. Archery was a not a skill commonly practiced in Gehenna, with its long history of swordsmanship, but he had mastered the skill. It was part of why he was so deadly, especially to creatures that used the skies. By the time the celestials had descended to attack, his arrows had brought more than a dozen to their final resting places.
“Archers, to the towers! Spearmen, flank the riders' left! White to the left, Red to the right!” Akai shouted, using magic to amplify his voice so it would be heard over the roaring clash of battle. There was a risk in doing so that an avalanche would be caused, so he tried to make his commands as sparse as possible. He headed to one of the towers himself and the archers parted to let him at one of the windows so he could study the battle from a better vantage point. He quickly scanned the snowy field and he soon picked out his fellow General. A small smirk tilted his lips at seeing Avinash already in the thick of things. He drew three arrows from his quiver and fitted them in his bow, taking aim again. Three of the celestials surrounding the red naga went down with bolts in their necks or chests; a little message to the General that he was watching.
Gabriel flew close to Raziel, playing his role as protectorate by staying just a little bit ahead of him. His eyes were drawn to the battle going on down below as angels and demons clashed. His blood heated at the sight and he could feel the bloodlust running through him, bringing him to the killing edge. His yellow gem flared bright in his chest as he conjured balls of bright orange flame in his hands and hurled them at the enemies. It was only moderately satisfying; what he really wanted was to be on the ground and letting his lance soak in the blood of the disgusting creatures. So many of them were disfigured, bearing horns or tails. Some of them even had the lower bodies of snakes! Snorting, he conjured a stream of flame that he swept over the landscape as he flew in low, then swept up again. Re: Elysium
It was not long before the silence was broken with the sounds of clashing weapons, the crackle and roar of offensive magic spells, and screams of agony from the wounded and dying. In the heat of battle, Avinash shut off everything that usually plagued his mind. Even the cold seemed to ease its grip as he swung his powerful blade, imbued with the flames of his own magic. It sliced through angel after angel, sending splatters of crimson gore across the pristine white snow. The metallic smell of their blood only excited him more as he dove his weapon into another angel's side, breaching a weak point in her armor. In one swift move he tilted the blade up and sliced off the angel's arm, watching as the woman fell to the ground screaming and writhing in pain as her life's blood squirted out into a thick, viscous puddle beneath her. He looked down at her coldly, raising his blade up high and then stabbing it down through her head to give her a swift death. As much as he enjoyed killing, he was not one to let his victims linger for long. That was the most respect he could ever offer his enemies; a clean, swift death.
It wasn't long before the red naga was surrounded. He braced himself then to deal with lances and swords coming at him from all directions, only to see arrows pierce their necks right as they were about to swing their weapons. He glanced up towards the tower, spotting Akai and feeling a sense of relief in knowing the basilisk had his back. There was no one better with a bow and arrows than Akai, and Avinash turned back to the fight at hand, watching more and more Celestials fall around him as Akai helped pick them off.
As the flames came, Avinash picked up a discarded shield from one of the dead angels and used it to protect himself as one of the heavily armored angels flew overhead. For once he was grateful there was snow, making the fire less potent since nothing was likely to catch save for a few pine trees and any demons unfortunate enough to be in the way. The shield, however, was not enough to protect his long tail and he could feel the oils on his scales catch fire. He cursed and quickly writhed in the bloodied snow, burrowing into the red slush to douse the flames before he could suffer any serious burns.
Raziel followed close to Gabriel, swooping in low and charging his staff. With lightning he had to aim with precision to ensure his strikes hit, picking his targets wisely as the electrical energy from his gem charged through his staff. The sky above darkened as the archangel focused his powers, his eyes scanning the battle searching for possible leaders. If he could take out their generals it would cause chaos and make it that much easier to wipe out those vile monstrosities. His blue eyes spotted the bright red mess in the middle of the snow and the red demon with a long snake body below. The sight made Raziel's stomach twist into a knot as good soldiers he knew lay dead and dismembered all around the horrible creature. He knew then who his first target would be.
With a swift motion he pointed his staff in the direction of the red naga and the ball at the end glowed brightly, pulsing and crackling with white light before a powerful bolt would be released. Raziel prayed that his aim was true and that he wouldn't miss. Re: Elysium
Akai watched the battle carefully, sending his arrows where they would have the most effect as well as messengers to relay orders. He kept an eye out for anyone who looked like they might be a leader on the opposing side and his eyes soon went to a rather large and heavily armored celestial carrying a lance and dousing his troops in flame. There was a palpable aura of power around the winged being and he drew an arrow, preparing to fire. However, a few more moments of watching brought a curious thing to his attention; it appeared more to be that the large celestial was not leading, but protecting the smaller angel flying with him. Akai's eyes narrowed and the longer he watched, the more convinced he was that the true leader of this battle was the slender being hovering just behind the massive warrior. He decided to test his theory and fired the arrow at the slender angel. As he expected, the larger one quickly moved up and deflected it with a sweep of his lance. An impressive feat, since his spelled arrows were not exactly easy to deter.
“Interesting...” He murmured to himself. It was not a thing he could recall ever having seen before; a non-warrior in a position of leadership in battle. Even Pria, slim as she was, was a beast in the field. Even Akai was wary of her. What skills exactly did this slender celestial possess? For that matter, what sort of culture would let someone so physically weak take a role equal to that of a General's? An idea occurred to him then and he beckoned one of the messengers over.
“Send a message to Avinash that I want that large celestial distracted. He needs to draw it away from the smaller one.” Akai told him, “And then spread the word around that I want the smaller one captured and brought to camp when I bring it down. No one is to harm it; I don't want it maimed, but if it needs to be knocked out, then do it. As long as it gets back to camp intact.”
The messenger saluted and quickly sped off to deliver the orders. Akai turned back to the battle, watching the messenger's progress, taking whatever measures he needed to to make sure he reached his destination.
Gabriel busily looked around the field, trying to figure out where that arrow had come from. Although it had been aimed for Raziel, there was something that felt off about it. As if someone was simply trying to catch his attention. He glanced back at the archangel and felt something twist in his chest at the thought of the breeder being taken down. He quickly shook it off and swept in closer to the other angel, his sharp gaze on the lookout for any more incoming threats. Re: Elysium
The arrow that came unexpectedly distracted Raziel as he caught sight of it in his peripheral vision before Gabriel quickly knocked it away. The slight disturbance was just enough that once his lightening shot down to the snow-covered earth, several demons around Avinash were struck as the electricity caused a large explosion several feet away from the red general, narrowly missing him. The naga that were not so lucky had their flesh charred and smoked as their bodies trembled with violent spasms. The electricity cooked them from the inside out. Raziel's heart started to race and he turned his gaze back to Gabriel, wishing he could thank the Dominion for protecting him, but he knew there was no time. "Celestial Guard, search for the archers! Take them out!" He called out, projecting his voice as his white gem glowed brightly.
Avinash froze a moment in place as the booming sound near him came so suddenly and was so loud he feared it had made him deaf. His ears rang painfully and he realized how close he had been to being killed as he watched seven of his men fall dead in an instant. Akai's messenger then came to him in a rush and the red naga struggled to clear the painful roaring in his ears. He managed to hear what Akai had ordered and gazed up towards the two angels, spotting the smaller one. It was rather frail looking and Avinash gave a grunt as he devised a plan to get the larger, more dangerous one away from the smaller one.
"Shit!" Raziel growled, seeing that his attack had slain many demons except the one he had been aiming for. "That red snake creature, I believe he's one of their leaders. His armor is more ornate and he seems stronger than the others. We need to take him out." Raziel yelled for Gabriel to hear as he turned and maneuvered back towards his target. "I cleared out a few of his men, he should be easier to take out now if we hurry."
Avinash could see the slender angel turning mid-flight then and coming back his way. If only the big one would land, then he could truly fight him. He slithered away as he saw the slender creature aim a glowing staff in his direction. This time he was prepared for it as he made way to a catapult. He ordered one of his men to light the heavy, oil soaked stone with fire and then released the payload, sending a massive flaming rock hurling in the armored angel's direction.
"Gabriel look out!" Raziel cried out, quickly aiming his staff at the oncoming rock and firing his lightening at it. It exploded mid-air into a thousand pieces. Re: Elysium
Gabriel had reflexively moved forward when the demon launched the rock at them, prepared to shield Raziel despite the injuries he knew he would sustain. Before he could, however, the archangel had destroyed it and he glanced back at his lord briefly before turning his attention forward again. His eyes narrowed as they landed on the red snake Raziel had pointed out, already loading up their catapult for another strike. It was clear that this one was a leader and taking him down would do much to turn the odds in their favor. He looked back at Raziel again, hesitant to leave him vulnerable, but at the same time he would not want the other to follow him down into battle.
“Fly up higher, put yourself out of range!” He called back to Raziel, “I'm going down there, I'll be able to fight that creature better face to face!” So saying, the dominion swept down, aiming straight for the red snake with his lance at the ready. He conjured another ball of flame and hurled it at the demons at the forefront, clearing the path for him to land in front of red demon. With a roar, he brought his starmetal lance down to crash with the demon's sword, sending sparks flying.
Akai smiled as the larger celestial took the bait and swooped in to engage Avinash. He was only mildly concerned for the other General; Avinash was one of the best swordsman in Gehenna and the basilisk was sure that he would be able to hold his own, even against that giant. His eyes quickly went back to the skies to find his real target. It was not too difficult, since the staff he carried shone like a beacon. It looked like it was trying to gain more altitude. Well, that would not save it from Akai's arrows. He pulled two more arrows from his quiver and shot them both in rapid succession, aiming one for each wing. He intended to cripple it without sending it simply plummeting to the ground and more than likely smashing itself against the mountain. He wanted the thing to land in a manner that kept it mostly intact. Re: Elysium
Raziel was apprehensive about Gabriel leaving him, but he knew it was the only way the Dominion stood a chance at taking out the red demon below. He could only give him a nod and turned his gaze towards the sky, soaring upward to try and gain some altitude.
Avinash gave a wicked grin when he saw the massive angel descending to fight him at long last. He watched as the winged creature slayed more of his men, but Avinash was not afraid as he met the powerful warrior head on. He was impressed by how strong he was as a few of the armored angel's blows made the red naga slide back in the snow. "Your wings will be the finest pair yet for my collection." He snarled, lashing out and dealing hard blows of his own, not caring that the angel likely could not understand a word he said.
Raziel had not been expecting what came next as he felt sudden, piercing pains in both of his wings. He hadn't even seen where the arrows had come from and he cried out in agony. His delicate, sensitive wings throbbed in agonizing pain, and he could feel his own hot blood trickling over his feathers and he found himself unable to navigate in the air properly. Flapping his wings was altogether too painful, but he kept them spread as wide as he could and tried to glide down towards the mountainside like a tumbling leaf blowing unsteadily in the wind. His landing wasn't at all graceful as he crashed beside a tall pine tree into a snowbank. His eyes stung with tears as he desperately tried to grab at the arrows in his wings, but he couldn't reach them. It would be nearly impossible without help and Raziel felt his stomach sink as demons swarmed around him. He grabbed his staff then and backed up against the tree, quickly sending out bolts of lightning to try and keep the strange monsters away. Seeing them so close made him feel awash with fear. His heart was knocking hard in his chest and he cried out for help, hoping his people could find him and protect him in his vulnerable state. Re: Elysium
Gabriel snarled furiously as he fought, bringing his lance down over and over in crushing blows. Every time any of the other demons tried to get in close, he swept the large weapon around, clearing the space again. Being so on edge for so long, it was nice to have something to channel his aggression on and his focus narrowed to the demon before him. It was too late when he saw Raziel go down and he felt his breath catch in his throat at the sight. The distraction was enough to let the snake creature land a blow and he felt the hot metal of its sword slip into the gap between his shoulder plates and cut deep into him. He howled in agony and swung around, using the opening to try and drive his plated fist into the beast's face.
Akai felt a moment of elation when his target fell as he wanted and he watched where it landed before he moved, bolting out of the tower and into field. He drew his twin swords, wickedly curved blades with ivory handles. He gathered up a small contingent of his men and ran with them towards the bank where he had seen the celestial fall. He moved surprisingly quick across the snow and maneuvered through the fighting easily, entirely focused on his goal. Before long he spotted his prize pinned back against a tree and blasting at his men with that damned staff. Studying the situation for a moment, he motioned his men back and moved forward himself, untying the blindfold from his eyes. He kept them closed, reigning in his power as best he could before daring to open them again. He didn't want to kill the thing after all.
“Hey! Over here!” He yelled, despite knowing it would not understand him. Still, his voice would be enough to draw its attention. He focused his gaze on it, his matte red eyes shining and yet not at the same time, drawing his victim's gaze. The men were all quickly turning away, not wanting to be sucked into the crimson depths of nightmares and paralyzing fear.. Re: Elysium
The armored angel's fist came at Avinash with such speed he could not avoid it and he felt it smash into his jaw with such a force that he nearly fell over. The bone gave a loud crack he could hear ringing through his ears and he let out a howl of pain as his mouth filled with blood. He glared angrily at the brute that slugged him, spitting out a molar as the blood from his mouth poured down his chin. He wanted to say something then, but it hurt too much to move his jaw as he swung his sword violently, losing himself in a rage as he drove the angel back towards more of his men. His soldiers came now in droves, rushing to protect their general as they saw him take his first hit. Even Avinash had his limits, and his warriors could see he was starting to wear down.
Raziel was about to send another blast of lightening forth when suddenly the demons all backed away. His eyes were wide and his chest rose and fell quickly as he let out short, nervous breaths. He heard a voice then and instantly he was captured in those red eyes. Everything around him grew dark then and he could see skeletal hands reaching up through the snow, clawing at him and grabbing at his ankles. He was seized with fear and found himself unable to move. He wanted to scream but no sound would come forth as he trembled. He could see wraiths swirling around him and the snow turned red and melted into a river of blood. Was this how he was going to die? Such a cruel fate... His fingers grew weak and he dropped his staff, frozen in place as the dark dreams consumed his mind. Re: Elysium
Gabriel let out a hiss of pain as the sword was pulled out of his shoulder and blood flowed copiously from the deep wound. He tried to raise his hand, but his arm gave barely a twitch and he started backing away this time as the demon forces swarmed around him. He swung his lance, trying to keep them away, but he knew he needed to do more if he was going to escape and find Raziel before anything happened. He finally swung his lance in one more sweeping arc, letting it fly at the last moment and impaling several demons on its length before drawing on the last of his yellow gem's power to send up a wall of flame that circled around him. He immediately leaped up into the air, flapping his wings with effort, his shoulder wound twisting more agony into him with every motion. He did not stop, however, gaining altitude and sweeping his gaze across the battlefield for any sign of the archangel.
“Fall back!” He yelled, taking command as the second highest ranking angel. Their soldiers were getting slaughtered and he needed all the resources he could muster if he was to find Raziel. “Fall back!”
Akai watched the celestial freeze up like a rabbit before a wolf as he moved slowly forward, keeping his gaze fixed carefully on the slender creature. He pulled a net that he had tied to his belt off and prepared it as he got within range. Once he was close enough, he threw the net over the winged creature, breaking his gaze with the motion.
“Quick, restrain him!” He snapped to his men while he replaced his blindfold. The soldiers surged forward, using the net to pull the celestial off its feet and drag him to the snow covered ground. Akai turned back once his eyes were covered to watch, making sure everything went accordingly. Re: Elysium
Avinash watched as the powerful angel took out several more of his men with his lance before escaping in a wave of flames. The red naga quickly slid back to avoid being burned as he watched his trophy escape. His jaw throbbed and was starting to swell, his entire head ached and he knew he couldn't worry about it now. Surely he would have another chance to slice off the armored angel's wings. When they both had time to heal, it would be a grand battle indeed and he looked forward to it.
The rest of the angels heard Gabriel's command and it was apparent that the demons had decimated much of their forces. They had no choice but to take flight and try to retreat. The mountainside was littered in corpses from both sides, stained red and smoldering from burnt trees or burning bodies. Those who survived the carnage followed after Gabriel, wondering if their High General was dead.
Raziel was in a sudden state of shock as all of the horrible, nightmarish images suddenly vanished, replaced by a white snake demon with a black covering over his eyes. Before he could do anything he felt a net covering him and the demons swarmed him again, making the ropes tighten and dragging him along the cold snow. He started to scream and kick, struggling and squirming wildly. It only made his wings hurt more, but the shame of being captured by the enemies wounded his pride. He was certain they would cut off his wings and then kill him. He didn't want to die, not like that. "Gabriel!!" He cried out as loud as he could, clawing at the ropes. "Gabriel!! Help me!" His throat started to burn as he yelled, hoping his Sire would hear him and come to his aid. He had no idea where he had landed and if he was anywhere near the others. "Let me go you monsters!" “Well, he's quite spirited.” Akai smirked and drew his sword again. “We better fix that before he draws too much attention.” Raising his weapon, he brought the butt of the hilt down on the back of the celestial's head to send him into unconsciousness. That done, he motioned to his men to pick up the slack and start dragging the wounded creature while he took the lead. “Be careful with it now, I don't want it too broken. If the healers have to waste too much time on it, then my whip will be spending time with your hides.”
Gabriel looked around frantically, lingering while the rest of the troops fled, trying to find any sign of Raziel. Blessed Day, where could he be? A number of horrible scenarios went through his head and he felt his stomach twist itself in knots and his heart raced in his chest. He needed to find Raziel and get him away from here. Even if he could barely fly with his wounded shoulder, he would find a way to get them both back to the Gates. It was then that he spotted a small troop of demons dragging something through the snow and his eyes widened when he saw it was the archangel. His heart twisted in his chest and he immediately shifted, swooping in.
The white snake at the front unfortunately turned back just in time to see him and with blinding speed had unslung an ivory bow and nocked an arrow in his direction. Gabriel swerved up sharply to avoid the arrow that came his way and cursed vehemently. It was watching him now, pulling another arrow and aiming it at him while they continued dragging Raziel through the snow. He could only watch with anguished eyes as they took the archangel, all but choking on his grief.
“Damn it!” He cursed, his hands curling into fists. Well, at least Raziel appeared to still be alive; he doubted they would net someone already dead. If they were capturing him, then that meant he would still be alive for a time. How much, he did not know, but he would take anything. Every moment the archangel still breathed was one in which he could be rescued and Gabriel had every intention of doing so. He would not rest until Raziel was back in his arms, safe. His wing suddenly stiffened for a moment, causing his flight to waver and a fresh pain to wash over him anew, reminding him he was injured. Grimacing, Gabriel turned away and followed the others. He would need to have wounds repaired as quickly as possible; the next time he returned here, he was not leaving again without Raziel at his side.
Akai watched the large celestial turn and leave, not lowering his weapon again until it had disappeared behind the clouds. Smiling, he gestured for the men to go on and they made good time back to the series of natural and demon-made caves that was the mountain fortress. He directed them to take the celestial to one of the rooms on the same floor as his own and then went to go see how Avinash had fared as well as take stock of the damages.
“General!” He called as he moved through the battlefield. He counted the casualties as he went, pleased to see they were not exceptionally high on their side. More pleased to see that there were more red armored bodies than white. He found Avinash near a smoldering crater with a few field medics tending to him. “Ah, there you are. You have my gratitude, Avinash. You performed admirably and I got my prize.” Re: Elysium
Avinash could only nod and give Akai a grunt as the medic grabbed his jaw and suddenly snapped it back into place, causing him to let out an undignified howl of pain.
"It seems that angel dislocated your jaw, it's also fractured by the looks of things. We'll have to set it. Your face will likely swell up, and you'll have to eat soup for a while, but you'll be fine. As for your lost tooth, that'll grow back in a year or so. It seems the worst of the fight is over so take this time to rest." The demon said with a sympathetic smile as he pulled out a roll of bandages and started to wrap Avinash's head from the top to beneath his jaw to hold it in place. "And don't talk much, this needs to heal. You can have the bandages off in three weeks."
Avinash nodded, his golden eyes gazing at Akai. If he could smile he would. He knew he did a fine job that day and proved his prowess in battle, even if he had taken a blow. He knew the damage he had done to that angel was far worse than his fractured jaw. Re: Elysium
Akai could not help but chuckle at the state his peer was in. It appeared that large celestial had been just as powerful as he had suspected. He was glad it had been Avinash on the receiving end of that blow and not him. He moved in closer and reached out to give Avinash a friendly pat on the shoulder as he leaned in and murmured teasingly. “Well, looks like no oral for you for a while. Too bad.”
Laughing, Akai moved off, heading back to the fortress. A little celebration was in order, he decided. Victory always went better with a glass of good wine.
Gabriel did not so much as land as fall at the doors of the healing center in Hay'oun. He was pale, feverish and ill from the wound in his shoulder, which had been bleeding out the entire time he had flown. Pain racked his entire left side and he gasped, unable to do more than lay on his back in his heavy armor. Black spots danced before his vision and he could feel himself swimming in and out of consciousness.
“Help...please...” He rasped, closing his eyes as he struggled to draw in each lungful of air. They shot open again as the horrific visions of Raziel being tortured came back. They had plagued him the entire time; every time he shut his eyes he saw the archangel being clipped of his wings, whipped, branded, raped, whatever torture his mind could dream up. Re: Elysium
Wounded angels had been returning by the droves and the medical clinic that Sofiel had once worked in was now where Nakir found himself, either tending to the eggs in the eyrie or helping the sick and injured. He had loved to spend plenty of time with his mate and their son, but he knew if Sofiel was to stay home one of them needed to work to keep the roof over their heads. There were already several beds laid out with wounded angels being tended to, moaning and sobbing as the other healers quickly mended their various wounds. The sight made Nakir's lips form a grim line as he was reminded of all the tragedy and death he used to see on the field not long ago. He suspected that the Celestials had lost the battle as more and more wounded continued pouring in of those that lived on Hay'oun. He could only imagine the clinics on the other islands were just as packed full of wounded warriors.
Suddenly, Nakir could hear a faint call for help and he paused in his task of stitching a cut on one angel's arm, hurrying to the door. "Kuniel, I need you to finish this. I think we have another wounded warrior to tend to. Sachiel, Veriel, I'll need help bringing another in, prepare a gurney." He said quickly as his first assistant came over to finish the work he started while the other two men followed him, rolling a gurney and prepared to pick up another body. Nakir opened the door then and his eyes widened as he realized who was sprawled out on the ground bleeding heavily. "Gabriel! Hurry, get his armor off, we need to stop the bleeding." He ordered as he and the other two worked to take off the massive and heavy pieces of gear. In a matter of a minute they had Gabriel stripped down, lifted onto the gurney and quickly rolled inside where Nakir and his team put pressure on the Dominion's shoulder.
"The cut is deep and he's lost a lot of blood. I'll do what I can to close the wound with my magic. Make him swallow a painkiller while I work." He barked out his orders as Veriel held Gabriel's head up and the other angel prepared a foul tasting elixir, putting the cup to Gabriel's lips and slowly pouring it once it was ready. Nakir was busily pressing his hands over Gabriel's wounds and focusing his energies. His gem started to glow a deep violet light. Normally Nakir would use conventional means to close up wounds, but for ones that were deep and life threatening, stitches and medicinal salves were not enough when time was of the essence. His magical energies quickly purified the wound, cleaning it and mending the muscles. It took a good bit of Nakir's strength, but he refused to have Gabriel die, knowing he'd never hear the end of it from Raziel even if the breeder and his Sire had their differences. "Stay with me Gabriel, don't go to sleep. Keeps your eyes on me." He said to the blonde as he saw him in and out of consciousness. The Power then began to wonder where Raziel was. Gabriel was supposed to be his protector, and if he was wounded...
Nakir's stomach began to twist into knots. He could feel the flesh under his hands firm and smooth once again as he pulled back, panting slightly. "What happened to Raziel? Is he all right?" He asked as his head swam for a moment and he leaned against Gabriel's bed. Re: Elysium
Gabriel was barely aware when he was stripped down and picked up, his mind moving between blessed darkness and those images of Raziel being dragged through the snow. He nearly choked on the vile potion that had been poured down his throat, swallowing it on reflex. Immediately, the pain in his body dulled but the dizziness had remained. The blood loss had been more than he had thought, apparently. Faces blurred in his vision and he could hear almost nothing over the pounding of his heart in his ears.
“Raziel...” He murmured, his eyes drifting closed again. He could not stop it this time; his body was finished fighting, even though the pain had faded. He let himself fall into the dark abyss that had been beckoning him all this time, fleeing from the visions. “Raziel...”
Akai nodded to the guard as he passed through the doorway. He carried a tray bearing water and a warm bowl of sweetened porridge for his new prisoner. A tingle of excitement rushed through him; this was the first time any celestial had been captured before, as far as he knew. No one knew anything about them other than they came from the skies and could be killed. That no one had thought to try and communicate with one was no surprise to him; Aadesh was far from a scholar and had little interest in any information that did not directly benefit his coffers or his cock. Well, some demons had bigger ambitions than finding out what hole was going to sheath him and how much it would cost...
The fire was built up in the hearth carved into the wall, giving it a comfortable heat, which the basilisk was grateful for. He set the tray down on the table and then turned to the corner where a large, fur covered bed rested. Atop it rested his captive. He moved closer, eager to inspect it. This was the first time he had seen it since its capture. They had stripped off his armor and dressed the wounds, as he had commanded. They had also put a special collar around its throat which would suppress its magic, if it had any. He was not sure if the magic had been in the weapon it wielded or not, but he was not taking chances. A length of chain attached to a metal plate bolted into the center of the room, which would allow the prisoner to move around it, but keep him from leaving and just to err on the side of caution, Akai had also commanded that his wings be clipped like a bird's. This celestial would not be flying off anytime soon.
The first thing he saw as he approached the bed was bare, peachy skin, quite similar to the pleasure slaves of Beseine. In fact, it was the most ideal tone and Akai wondered at it, reaching down and running his fingers up a slender naked thigh and following it over the curve of a hip. It was sinfully soft. He gently shifted the celestial over onto its back and saw the cock and flat chest. So, he was dealing with a male...He frowned as he studied it further, taking in the pretty features, the soft figure, the long golden hair...Save for the wings and the odd gem in the center of his chest, he could have been from the Garden. Probably a golden lotus. A thought occurred to him then and he parted the celestial's legs.
There, right under the soft sac was narrow slit, almost like an indent in the flesh. It could almost be nothing. Akai reached out and ran his finger over it, then pressed. The flesh split, revealing pink and his eyes widened. A breeder. He pushed his finger further in, almost unable to believe what he was seeing, feeling. Hot, wet...His cock stirred as the scent of the breeder's sex curled into the air. It was so similar...What could this mean, then? What were the celestials, really? Re: Elysium
Nakir frowned as the Dominion spoke Raziel's name but was too weak to stay awake. One of his assistants brought him a wash basin and clean cloth so Nakir could wash away the blood and clean his hands. "We've done all we can for him for now, we'll just have to wait and pray that he pulls through." He said to them in a tired voice, lowering his head. He found a chair to sit, needing to rest as he felt waves of dizziness from using so much of his power. He wondered if Raziel was all right... If the archangel was dead Sofiel and Laziel would be stricken with immense grief. He too would feel the loss deeply as Raziel was practically family to them. "May he be safe." He said softly while he rested, though the feelings of unease continued to stir in his gut.
~~~
Raziel had been lost in dreams after the strange white demon had knocked him out cold. They were sad and painful, and in them he was keenly aware that his wings hurt and his head ached. He was alone and lost, crying out for Gabriel but the Dominion was no where to be seen. A deep, dark forest surrounded him and he traveled aimlessly around a labyrinth of tall bushes, unable to find his way. Around every corner were shadowy figures lurking, monsters with glowing red eyes and horns, and long tails like snakes. There was one monster in particular that kept finding him, and each time he would run away in fear, unable to fly, unable to escape. A pale white snake demon with eyes as red as blood and a gaze that made Raziel tremble in fear.
He let out a soft groan then, his eyebrows furrowing as he continued his uneasy sleep. "Gabriel..." He whispered as he slowly came back to consciousness. Something was moving his legs and he could feel a hand touching him. Then there was a familiar warmth as he felt something enter him. "Ahh... Gabri-" His eyes opened then and what he saw made him gasp and instantly he lashed out with his hands, trying to push the demon away. "No!" He cried, his fuzzy mind snapping to alertness as he realized he was in an unfamiliar place, completely nude with a strange collar around his neck and a long chain he could feel, cool and heavy as it pressed against his skin. He tried to squirm away from the white snake creature, terrified when he realized he could not summon his magics and zap the creature into the next life. "Get away!" Re: Elysium

Akai pulled back, startled by the celestial's sudden awakening. He had been so wrapped up in his inspection of it that he had failed to notice the signs of his waking. Well, it was hard not to notice now. He smiled, unrepentant at having been caught with his finger in the honeypot, so to speak. Akai moved back, leaving him to cower on the bed. He went back to the table and sat down on one side of it, facing the celestial. He pushed the tray of porridge and water to the other side, towards the newly discovered breeder.
“Hungry? I brought you dinner.” He spoke, keeping his voice quiet and even to avoid alarming the celestial further. He sat back and folded his hands atop his coils. “Come eat. You'll feel better with some food in you.” Re: Elysium

Raziel panted as adrenaline rushed through him, alarmed by having had a demon's filthy finger inside of him. When the strange snake man moved away, he backed up until he was against the wall at the head of the fur bed and could go no further. He watched the demon warily as it slithered over to a table with food and settled down. When it began to speak Raziel could not understand the strange language, but the demon's voice seemed eerily calm and gentle. All he knew was that he was terrified, more than he had ever been in his life. He was helpless and when he turned his head to see one of his wings, he realized the feathers were clipped short and stunted. The sight made his eyes well with tears and his throat tightened, though in his grief part of him was grateful he still had his wings at all. He dared not move, not wanting to go anywhere near the white creature that had likely been the one to maim him.
"You monster!" He cried out, his eyes filling with anger as tears rolled down his cheeks. It seemed that he was the demon's captive and there would be no hope for escape. He certainly couldn't fly with the state his wings were in, and without being able to use his magic he was utterly helpless. Not to mention he had no idea where his armor was or his staff, and surely he could not fight his way out of wherever he was against a horde of demons all by himself. He pulled his knees up to his chest then and hugged them, trembling and feeling hopeless as he began to sob. Re: Elysium

Akai sighed a little, having expected this but annoyed by it nonetheless. He decided to let the celestial cry, since there was nothing else he could do for it. While it did that, he removed a large red gem from the pocket of his wrap and laid it on the table. He had had the resident mage make this for him, although he was not entirely sure it would work since the celestial language was unfamiliar. Still, it was worth a try. He tapped once on the tongue stone and it shone red for a moment, then there was a flash and it went dark again. Akai pursed his lips in frown, wondering if that was how it was meant to be done. Well, there was only one way to test it.
“Do you understand me?” He asked, raising his voice so the celestial would hear it over his sobbing. “Answer me if you can.” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 16, 2012, 9:25pm
Raziel paused in his sobs, looking up in surprise when he heard words he could understand. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hand and saw the white snake demon with a strange gem on the table. What a curious device... to be able to bridge the gap between their languages. "Y-yes." He said weakly, wondering how the stone worked. Perhaps the demons were not as barbaric and primitive as he had initially thought, especially if they had such advanced sorcery. Re: Elysium
Post by onichan01 on Mar 16, 2012, 9:39pm
“Good.” Akai smiled, pleased that the mage's device had worked. This would make things far easier. “Then I will introduce myself. My name is Akai and I am the White General of Gehenna, my homeland. You are in a fortress of Beseine, in the Torina Mountains. I would not hold my breath hoping for rescue; the fortress is carved into the mountains itself and is well camouflaged. No one will find you and no one will hear you call for help. There are legions of soldiers in and out of this place at all times. I suggest you abandon all hope of freedom now, it will not happen.”
The basilisk then nodded back to the food again. “As I was saying earlier, I brought you dinner. It's only porridge; our supplies are rather low with all the snow we've been having, so I apologize for not being able to offer you something you would probably be more suited to. You are a leader among your people, are you not?” Akai smiled again and settled back to make himself comfortable. “I want you to know that I have no intention of causing you harm, unless you give me reason to. I only wish to speak with you and learn what I can.” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 16, 2012, 9:55pm
Raziel lowered his legs then and listened as the demon spoke, feeling his stomach fall with mention of no possible escape. At least now he knew where he was and who the demon before him was. He had many of his own questions, and now that they had a means to communicate, he tried his best to fight away his fears and be strong. He had to represent his people, and being a sniveling, sobbing mess would not do, no matter how he felt. Perhaps he could find a way out of this situation if he and the demon could come to some sort of agreement. Raziel knew if he wanted to go home, he would have to be cunning and play it safe long enough for his wings to grow back. The last thing he wanted was for the demon to hurt him or have him be executed.
"I will answer your questions... General Akai." The demon's name felt strange on his tongue. Most angel names ended in iel, aside from Nakir and the odd few. "On one condition. When I have given you all the information I can, barring any information that will jeopardize my people, you will release me and let me go home. That is all I want in return." Raziel then got up slowly, making his way to the table to sit down on a cushion at the other side of it. He eyed the porridge with a blank look on his face, wondering if he was going to starve to death. He had never seen anything that looked so unappetizing, and he didn't imagine demons ate the kind of delicious fare he was used to. He missed his chef's and Sofiel's cooking, and a slight frown crossed his pink lips before he turned his gaze back up at the white general. "My name is Raziel. I am the High General of the Celestial Guard." Re: Elysium

“Raziel...A general.” Akai murmured, still bewildered by the fact that it was a breeder sitting before him. Breeders were slaves and not warriors, never trained in weapons or magic. Yet this one apparently commanded an army. “Well, Raziel, I am sorry to inform you that I cannot agree to your condition. You see, you are the prisoner. As such, what you want doesn't matter. You will give me everything I want regardless. So, here are your conditions; I will ask questions. You will answer them, truthfully, or I will hurt you. I warn you, I am a skilled torturer, but if you do as I say, then you will never have to find out how skilled I am.”
The basilisk smiled pleasantly, but there was definitely a cold edge to it. “Now, I want to know what your people call yourselves. For instance, my people are demons. We have been calling yours celestials, but I imagine you have a different name for yourselves. I am also curious about your people in general. Tell me about them.” Re: Elysium

Raziel's temper flared and his feathers bristled as Akai refused his terms. He was tempted to take the bowl of porridge and dump it on the demon's head, but he refrained, knowing such an action would get him killed. The threat of torture was quite unappealing, even he did have his own kinks that he employed in the bedroom, real torture and actual pain and injury was not to his taste and he'd do well not to get himself injured. "So... I suppose am stuck here forever then. That's a very long time to be a prisoner." He said ruefully as he reached for the cup of water, giving it a suspicious sniff before taking a sip. "And do you always molest your prisoners when they are unconscious?" He said with a glare, not forgetting how Akai had been pawing him earlier and putting his finger inside of him. He had hoped to avoid answering the demon's questions, trying to turn it around on him. "What exactly are you? Half snake thing." Re: Elysium
Post by onichan01 on Mar 16, 2012, 10:37pm
“Well, I do find they are easier to molest when they're sleeping, yes.” Akai replied flatly, arching an eyebrow. “But in truth I was merely surprised when I found out what you are. We have ones like you among our people, but they are never warriors. They are not allowed to take up weapons or learn magic. The ones in my land are even kept ignorant of the written word. So, to see that you had a breeder's hole was surprising. As for me, my particular breed of demon are called naga. We are the dominant race in Gehenna, the desert lands. I'm sure you're familiar with them.”
“Now, back to the matter at hand...I believe I told you to tell me about your people.” He pointed out, “Are you for breeding? Are there many like you? What about the rest of your people? Are you all the same or do you have true males and females? What about your king, what is he?” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 16, 2012, 10:54pm
Raziel was surprised the demon was amenable to giving him so much information, so the breeder calmed a bit after Akai had explained himself, even deigning to try a spoonful of the porridge. It was rather bland for his taste, and the texture made him want to gag so he quickly washed it down with more water. As Akai spoke, however, he listened intently, hoping to learn all he could and orient himself with this strange demon realm. So there were breeders even among demons? That was an interesting piece of information and the archangel began to wonder what else they may have had in common. Thus far, however, their culture seemed very backwards. He could not imagine breeders being kept ignorant and not being allowed to fight as warriors or learn magic. It sounded like the breeders from Akai's land of Gehenna were even worse off, not being allowed to read or write.
"Interesting... Your ways are so different. My people are called angels and I am from a place called Elysium, which is made up of seven floating islands in the sky. I am from the island of Hay'oun where I was hatched. We do have females as well as breeders, the same as your people, and males too. In our society the women and breeders rule. Men are our servants, bound to fight for us and serve our Queen. We do not have a King. I couldn't fathom a man ruling, that would be a disaster." Raziel snorted, wondering what the demon would think of that. He couldn't help but smirk. "If you were brought to my realm, you'd be given to a woman or a breeder to serve as their personal bodyguard and perhaps become their mate if they wanted you. We keep our men under control with enchanted cockrings etched with our magical seals. I have a Sire of my own..." Raziel's face then fell as he thought of Gabriel. He wondered if the Dominion had defeated that red naga or if... Raziel shook his head then, trying not to think the worst. "Breeders are not forced to breed either. We choose our mates, though the Queen chose mine for me. I hadn't taken a mate of my own, I've been too involved in the wars. Tell me, Akai, do you know if... if the large angel that was with me..." Raziel swallowed a lump in his throat. "Is he dead...? Did that red naga slay my Gabriel?" Re: Elysium
Post by onichan01 on Mar 16, 2012, 11:07pm
Akai's eyes widened under his blindfold and he found himself leaning forward slightly across the table as he listened to the angel speak. A world of floating islands that were right above their heads...What sort of enchantment kept that earth in place? How did it even come to exist and what hand had made these angels? Or his people, for that matter. That they were so similar could only mean that they had been molded from the same clay...Well, almost the same. He turned his attention back to Raziel when he asked about the large angel that had been with him.
“Gabriel was his name? That one gave Avinash quite a hard time. The Red General is suffering a cracked jaw because of him. However, Avinash left him heavily wounded as well...Nearly took his arm off. I did see him fly away, however, so who knows if the wound was fatal.” He shrugged, “Now, when you say you were hatched, exactly what do you mean...?” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 16, 2012, 11:36pm
Raziel nodded as Akai asked to confirm Gabriel's name. He didn't know whether to feel relieved or worried for his Sire, knowing he was wounded made his stomach knot. Hearing that Gabriel had fractured that demon's jaw, however, felt most satisfying. He'd expect nothing less from the powerful Dominion. Surely he had returned to Hay'oun and gotten his wound treated. He knew Nakir had taken up work in the clinic and he'd be able to heal him. Raziel sighed, praying Gabriel made it back safely. He may not have known how Gabriel was doing for certain, but he knew the angel was strong and he had faith he'd live. He also secretly prayed Gabriel would find a way to save him, but considering he was inside of a mountain hideout that was well concealed, it wasn't likely...
Raziel then turned his attentions back to Akai as the demon asked more questions. "Angels are born from eggs. Once the female or breeder is seeded, she or he will grow large as the egg develops inside of their belly. After seven months they expel the egg and then it must be carefully tended in a hatchery for the next five months until it hatches. The eggs need to be maintained at a warm temperature and turned every so often, otherwise the children could be born with defects or simply die. I know all of that because I have a good friend who used to work in the eyrie taking care of the eggs as well as watching over other angel's hatchlings. He has his own child and I am like an uncle to him. Can you imagine the little boy's grief if I am never to return? He is only five." Raziel tried to guilt the demon then, hoping the naga had some sort of a heart in his chest. Re: Elysium

“You...you actually lay eggs? Like birds?” Akai could not help himself and he started laughing at the ludicrous image in his head of breeders and females perched on nests, squatting on their eggs like giant chickens. How ridiculous! What sort of race were they to be hatching their young from eggs? “How...interesting.” He chuckled as he calmed down. The basilisk sighed and waved a hand dismissively at Raziel's next concern. “If he's that young, then he's resilient enough to get over you fairly quickly. It's good for children to learn loss, anyway; it makes them strong. Our incubus learn it at a very young age, when they are separated from their mothers.”
He sighed and rested his elbows on the table, leaning forward again. “So, you lay eggs. Your males are slaves. You're ruled by a female. If you weren't sitting here telling me this, I would never believe it. I'm still not completely sure I believe some of it, particularly the egg business. It sounds like a joke.” Akai grinned and shook his head. “Tell me about the gems you wear. Why is it embedded in your flesh that way? I assume it's some sort of magical device, I noticed that it glows when you are casting spells. Is that what it does?” Re: Elysium

Raziel crossed his arms, not amused as Akai laughed at his explanation. "What is so funny? It's the natural way of things, all life comes from eggs! Well... at least our lives do. How do demons give birth if not from eggs?" He couldn't help but ask from sheer curiosity, given that Akai found his people's biology so amusing. What the naga said next in response to Laziel, however, dampened the archangel's spirit. He did not want to envision Laziel sobbing in Sofi's arms. He couldn't imagine the grief Sofiel would feel too, their entire family would be devastated. "It sounds like you demons treat your breeders horribly. Taking them away from their mothers? That is unimaginably cruel..."
Raziel shook his head then, annoyed that Akai didn't believe him. These demons seemed so incredibly backwards he was at a loss. "Our gems are something we are either born with, or not. I was lucky enough to be born with one and at my coming of age ceremony, it turned white. Angels with gems can learn to use magic and are stronger and more powerful than those without them. When we reach one hundred years of age, we undergo a ceremony in the Holy Spring of Kutiel where we are purified in the water and our gems become active. It will turn from black to a particular color, and that color determines our place in society. White is the most powerful gem any angel can have, and because of my high birth I became the Queen's highest ranked and most esteemed general. I am sure you'll be feeling her wrath if you don't let me go... She will likely show you no mercy." Raziel hoped he was right, and that the Queen wouldn't simply replace him with whoever was the most powerful. Re: Elysium

“Our children are brought into the world whole and alive. We do not have to wait for our young to hatch from an egg. The only thing I ever see lay eggs are chickens.” Akai smirked. His smile seemed to harden then and he tapped a long, black tinted nail on the table. “Yes, we do treat our breeders badly. They are slaves here, even below the rank of women. At least women can become wives or earn a rank in battle. Breeders are seen as halflings, neither sex, and inferior. The fact that they are dependent on sex to survive only lowers them further. My own slave could not become my wife by virtue of his rank, no matter if I wished otherwise. He can never be educated and if the children we have are breeders, then I must sell them or send them to be trained in the Hall of Jewels and then take them back when they are of age to be used for pleasure. It is a shame, really. My slave is very clever, very capable, strong...”
Akai went silent, staring at the cave mouth wistfully as his thoughts turned once again to Kalim and how badly he wished he was here. Or that he was in back in Beseine with him. Perhaps curled up by one of the coal heaters, reading to him. His little slave lusted for the written word despite his inability to read it. Or they could spend some time in the playroom, warming his dark hide with one of his whips. Watching him stretched by ropes and whimpering, tears shining in his eyes like diamonds. Akai's nails dug into the table and he shook his head to clear the thought away. It would do him no good to wish for what could not be.
“I will risk your Queen's wrath. I will be surprised if she even knows you are here; I imagine she has had generals die in the field before or go missing. If she is anything like my king, you will be quickly replaced.” The basilisk shrugged and turned back to Raziel. “So, you are born with those gems. Does that mean it can't be removed? Would you die if it was?” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 17, 2012, 12:31am
Raziel did not like being compared to a chicken, but he let the naga's joke slide, knowing there wasn't much he could do about it. As Akai continued to speak then, he realized what a harsh world the demons seemed to live in, at least, it was a harsh world for breeders and he did not want to imagine what his life would have been like had he been born a demon. He could tell the way Akai spoke of his own slave that he likely cared for him deeply, perhaps even loved him. Somehow, knowing demons were even capable of love put him at ease. They were really not that different in the larger scheme of things.
"That's very sad to have to sell your children into slavery and have them become sex slaves, no less. Though I must admit I have a few slaves of my own. Pretty little things, young boys. I treat them well though and they have good lives with me. Not every Master is so kind, I am sure. My own Sire has had his share of bad owners and when he became mine he was quite broken. Gabriel is almost like these pleasure slaves you speak of. He'd been used for sex and toyed with, undervalued despite how strong and intelligent he is. Our men though, while they are technically slaves, they are still given some liberties. Many of them learn to read and write and they can have their own places to live and various jobs. Though if a woman or a breeder wants them to submit and use them for sex, well, they don't have a choice."
Raziel then grabbed up the spoon and tried again to eat more of the porridge, knowing he'd need his strength if had any hope at all of survival and eventual escape. He tried to pretend it was one of Sofiel's soups, imagining flavors that weren't there. When Akai spoke of him being replaced he said nothing, though his brows furrowed slightly. "If a gem is removed or damaged it would cripple the angel. They'd no longer be able to use magic and they would become frail, their chest would be disfigured. It's actually a practice used for punishment... I hope you don't get any ideas." Raziel said quickly, worried the naga would try to remove his gem. He'd fight to the death if that happened. Re: Elysium

“It seems a slave's life is difficult no matter where he is.” Akai muttered. “That is interesting to know, however. About your gems. I'll know where to aim my arrows next time to do the most damage. If I can cripple without killing, that means more of your kind could be captured. I am sure the Overseers in Gehenna would be thrilled to see what they could do by breeding your stock in with theirs.”
The basilisk chuckled, already imagining it. He could make a small fortune on such a venture, if he chose to do it, which he would not. He was interested in seeing Raziel's reaction to such a proposal. “Why do you call Gabriel your sire if the males are not the ones in charge?” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 17, 2012, 12:50am
The spoon suddenly fell from Raziel's hand and it slapped down on the table, rage filling his bright blue eyes. "That's horrible! How dare you suggest such a thing! It was not my intention to give you better methods to take down my people. If I must suffer and become a slave of some sort, so be it, but leave the rest of my people out of your sick fantasy! We are not breeding stock for your demented pleasure. I couldn't even imagine what kind of monstrosities would be born should demons and angels combine, and for all anyone knows we may not even be compatible for breeding. What a disgusting thought... snakes with wings." He huffed, trying to calm himself down as he realized he was speaking his mind far too openly and Akai could just as easily start the tortures he threatened earlier.
"I'm sorry for that little outburst." He said quickly, taking another sip of water then mulling over the next question. "Sire is the term we use for males who are claimed or have owners. Gabriel is my property, therefore he is my Sire and if I wish to wed him or mate with him and have children, I can. I can even marry him if I chose to, then he would be my husband and I his wife. I would be our child's father and he would be the child's Sire. If I was a woman I'd be called a mother. That's just how it is. Gabriel is still a slave, nonetheless. A very willful slave. If any other breeder owned him they'd surely have him killed for his disobedience and lies." His hand balled into a fist as he thought bitterly about all the pain he had endured due to the Dominion's actions. He still loved him despite it all, but the pain of his deception was still fresh. Re: Elysium

Akai smiled and said nothing, letting the angel think the worst. It was to his advantage if Raziel feared him. “Well, this has been very educational. Thank you for the talk...Raziel.” The basilisk spoke as he rose up. “It's late now and I still have some business to attend to. I'll leave you to finish your dinner and perhaps we will talk more tomorrow. I hope you're sleeping again when I arrive.”
He grinned at the angel before he turned to leave, waving to the guard at the door as he left. The corridors were chilly and a shiver went through him as the cold seeped into his skin from the stone floor. There were not enough resources to heat the entire area and he moved quickly, eager to be someplace warm again. He headed for Avinash's chambers to check up on the other General.
“Avinash? Are you still awake?” He called as he entered, pushing aside the thick hide that comprised the door. The air was warm here, the fire blazing away in the hearth. “I came to visit.” Re: Elysium

Raziel cast Akai a glare as the naga insinuated molesting him in his sleep again. He had to be careful in case the naga got any bright ideas to try and breed him or some crazy scheme. He did not know what would happen if he was to be raped by a demon. All of the things Sofiel had told him about males going into mating frenzies likely did not apply to these snake demons, but he wondered if he'd still go into his cycle and become fertile if a demon fucked him. If he ever became pregnant with a halfling child, how could he possibly protect the egg and care for it long enough for the baby to hatch? It was far too cold and desolate in the lower realm, at least in the area he was in. Raziel shook his head then, wondering why he even thought of such things. He would not bear a child to a demon if the worst were to occur, he'd surely have it in himself to destroy the egg.
He watched Akai as he left then, saying nothing more as he managed to finish the bowl of porridge and his water. He looked around the room, seeing the hearth blazing with a warm fire and some crates against the walls. There was the bed of furs behind him and some animal hides covering the doorway. He had seen guards standing out there when Akai had left, much to his dismay. He also noticed his chain was tethered to a plate of metal in the center of the floor. He wondered then if he could find something to beak the chain, all it would take is one weak link... He got up then, quietly though the chain clanked with every movement and scraped noisily against the stone floor. He grit his teeth, making his way over to one of the crates and opening it, finding it full of what appeared to be clothing. He pulled out a long robe with a belt and inspected it. It was a dark purple and fairly plain with no patterns in the fabric. Raziel sighed then and noticed there were no holes in it for his wings. He had no way to cut holes in the fabric either unless he found something sharp. It was unlikely the demon would leave anything useful in his room and Raziel growled in his throat, agitated that he couldn't even put on some simple clothing. He decided to improvise then, folding the robe in half and wrapping it around his waist, using the belt to secure it there. It wasn't too different from something he might usually wear, aside from the color and the fact that the fabric was rough-spun and not silky and smooth.
The archangel then mulled around, looking in the other crates and finding nothing of use. The room was fairly barren and Raziel wondered what they had been using it for before he was captured. Eventually, he shuffled back over to the bed of furs, resigning himself to lay down and try to rest. I want to go home... He thought sadly as he clung to the furs and pulled a pelt over himself.
Avinash had been laying beside the fire, enjoying the warmth as he read a book. It wasn't one of his favorite past times, but with his head wrapped in bandages and swollen as it was, there wasn't much else he could do beside sleep. When Akai entered his room he put the book down and managed a smile. "There you are. I was wondering how long you'd be interrogating the prisoner." He managed to say, though his speech was a bit of a mumble since he could not open his mouth very far. "What'd you find out?" He asked curiously as he pat a spot next to himself for the basilisk to get comfortable. He wondered if Akai would still want to fuck him even though he surely looked ridiculous. Re: Elysium
Post by onichan01 on Mar 17, 2012, 1:37am
“It was very enlightening.” Akai settled in next to Avinash, curling close mostly for the warmth than the physical affection. “Apparently they call themselves angels. The one I captured is also a breeder. Quite an attractive one, at that. With his colorings and without the wings, he could almost be a golden lotus from the Garden. The males are subjugated in their race...”
Akai spoke, retelling most of what he had discussed with Raziel, minus a few things like the gems in case the red naga should get ideas. He doubted it, given Avinash's propensity for harvesting wings instead. When he got to the part about the egg-laying, he could not keep back another snort of laughter. “Can you imagine it? Laying eggs and hatching their young from them. I wonder what it looks like.” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 17, 2012, 1:44am
Avinash was surprised by all the things he had learned about the Celestials as Akai relayed the tale. "Heh, they must be very delicate when they're pregnant. One hit to the stomach and they'd have a scrambled egg in their belly. I imagine that'd be quite fatal, all those sharp pieces of shell... I wonder how big their eggs are when they pop them out. That would make one hell of an omelet." Avinash joked, a gruesome and tasteless joke as it was, but it made him laugh as much as he could laugh with his swollen jaw. "I didn't get a good look at the angel when they brought him in, but if you say he looks like a Golden Lotus, I'll believe you. Are you going to make him into a sex slave or something? I wouldn't mind having a go at it if you'd be willing to share. Not like we'll be returning to Beseine to our slaves anytime soon." Re: Elysium
Post by onichan01 on Mar 17, 2012, 1:49am
“Any breeder is delicate in their pregnancy.” Akai remarked, a little perturbed at Avinash's casual joke of harming a carrying breeder. He did not hold back much, but harming a breeder or a female that was carrying was where he drew the line. He turned his gaze to the fire, watching the flames twist. “I had not thought about using Raziel for sex, although I will admit it is an appealing idea. However, there are more pressing concerns than satisfying our libidos. Your injury, for one. I doubt you should be participating in anything amorous while your jaw is still broken.” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 17, 2012, 1:59am
Avinash sighed through his nose. "Why can't the healers just make the bone heal faster? Three weeks is ridiculous with all the herbal remedies and healing magics we have. I need to be able to fight too, in case more angels try to attack. I'm sure they will be coming back, and they might bring greater numbers the next time around." Avinash rolled onto his side then, facing Akai and resting his arm over the basilisk casually. He had sensed that since they had come to Beseine and Soma began acting up, Akai was growing more distant from him and wasn't as eager to have sex. He knew his injury would just be a convenient excuse for the basilisk to refuse him. It bothered him, but he never knew how to broach the subject. He wondered how much Akai actually cared for him and if he was just a friend with benefits and a valuable warrior. He still wondered why Akai ever chose him to begin with.
"I'm sure there's still something we can do, if you have the urge at all. You know I am always eager to be your sheath." He said in a low tone, letting his fingers dance lightly over Akai's skin. Re: Elysium
Post by onichan01 on Mar 17, 2012, 2:07am
“Broken bones require more care than wounds caused by slashing blades. And the jaw is a particularly delicate bone.” Akai sighed, speaking as if to a petulant child. Which Avinash was reminding him of at the moment. He looked down at the red naga and shook his head. “You need to heal first, Avinash. I doubt the angels will be coming back anytime soon, they suffered some heavy losses today. An attack by them is the least of our concerns right now. The supply party we sent out a few days ago still has yet to return and I can sense another blizzard coming. That is partially why the healers can't heal you quicker; we are low on resources. Our herbal remedies need to go to those with more fatal wounds than a missing tooth and a fractured jaw.”
Akai reached out and brushed back Avinash's hair, tucking it behind his ear in an affectionate gesture. “You know I desire you, my warrior.” He purred in a husky voice. “However, your health is more important to me. I need you fit. Relax and heal. I will keep you company, but no more than that. Not until you have recovered.” Re: Elysium
Post by Butler Eiji on Mar 17, 2012, 2:35am
Avinash managed a nod then and realized Akai had a point. "I'm sorry, I guess I'm just impatient. The cold weather hasn't helped my mood much, and I'm not terribly fond of the snow. Beseine was much nicer in the autumn even though it was still too cold for my taste, but in these mountains the chill bites bone deep. To be honest, I miss my home back in Gehenna." He sighed as his tail curled around Akai's, enjoying the warmth of his body. "My mother always came to visit me, bringing food she had cooked. I wonder if she's proud of me... Thanks to you I'm no longer just another grunt." Avinash smiled a little, thinking about how much he still admired Akai. The more he had gotten to know him, the less he minded his sadistic quirks. Akai was one to be respected and Avinash looked up to him, hoping to learn from his lead. Re: Elysium

“I am sure she is proud of you; how could she be anything else? You have made me proud.” Akai replied, soothing with gentle words. “I will be happy when our tour ends and we can get out of these damned mountains. Aadesh is a sadist, to send us here in the winter months. Well, it's only five more months.”
Akai shook his head and laid back on the bed, letting the younger naga curl around him. The warmth was welcome, even if he was not as eager for Avinash's attentions as he had pretended to be. “I think that's enough. I'm tired after today, I'm going to sleep. You should rest as well. Good night, my warrior.”
The basilisk settled in, pulling the furs up and burying himself under them, as had become his habit while in the mountains. His mind went back to his captive, the pretty blond breeder in his room on the level just below him. He would be having another talk with Raziel tomorrow. A nice, long talk.
