Chapter 3

...Chapter 3. Gods I\'m on a roll!

Read, review and COMMENT! I like to hear those opinions...and questions and stuffs.

=====

He couldn\'t believe it. Vampire? Is that what she said? Is that why his brother looked so...something? Vampire? It was impossible! He was a werewolf for crying out loud! Werewolves couldn\'t become vampires! Vampire blood was like poison to them. Wait...his brother smelled different. Leaning in, Tucker took a whiff of his older brother\'s shirt and jumped to his feet, back away from his brother and the woman named Jill.

"Sweet bloody mother! You smell like the grave!"

"I\'m a vampire Tuck. So are you."

"Wolves don\'t become vampires Nat. Poison, slow death, that kind of thing, you know."

"Well some s.o.b. decided to test a theory and here we are, walking contradictions." As if to prove his brother and the bodacious babe wrong, Tucker walked to one of the plane windows and opened the shutter. He recoiled and hollered as his skin instantly started to blister and sizz. He was pulled back by strong arms and he felt something wet falling down his cheeks. He moved to wipe at them and his hands came away bloody. He frowned and licked his fingers. He couldn\'t help it. Something whispered to him to lick them. He shuttered as the sweet, nectar rolled down his throat.

"What the hell is wrong with me?" he couldn\'t stop the bloody tears from falling down his face. "I saw mother...and that bastard who donated his sperm and then I was yanked back. I thought I was just sleeping...then the pain was unbearable and that\'s when I came too with your wrist at my face." Tucker looked to his older brother and watched as Nat moved to get a cloth. Nat came over and wiped his face. Tucker hissed at the pain but caught the scent of fresh blood and his eyes immediately glued to the woman. Again. He couldn\'t pull his gaze away.

"Tuck? You okay bro?" Nat patted his face and Tuck blinked.

"Sorry Nat. If I believe what you\'re saying, how is it possible?"

"Long story. Right now I\'m too tired to explain and you need to feed. Tucker meet Jill, Jill, meet Tucker. Tuck, you need to feed from her but I\'m going to have to hold you so you don\'t accidentally kill her. It wouldn\'t be good for either of us if you did."

"Why?" he couldn\'t help the words. Somehow, the thought of drinking her dry creeped into his mind and he couldn\'t help that it gave him good vibes.

"Because, technically speaking, my husband is your grandfather due to siring your brother who in turn sired you. If I die, you die. Slowly." She just smiled and Tucker\'s gaze was once again drawn to her pulse point. "Oh for the Moon Mother\'s sake, Nathaniel, hold his arms and let\'s get this over with. After fresh blood he\'ll sleep right?"

"According to what Jack said." Nat finished cleaning Tucker\'s face and moved behind his younger brother to hold his arms. When Tucker was secure, Jill walked over and held out her wrist.

"Damn this is going to hurt."

"Yes it will." Tuckers face moved and he bit down, hard. Jill yelped but held still, making sure not to damage herself more than need be.

Heaven. That was all he could say. If felt so good and he didn\'t want it to stop. It didn\'t stop. He moaned against the nectar flowing into his mouth and closed his eyes. Gods had anything ever felt so good to him? No. Never. Okay, lie. Sex was good. Great in fact, if he had the right partner. He drank and drank until he was forced away. With a snarl he tried to get back to that never ending fount only to be held down. He watched as his brother leaned forward and licked the wound. It stopped bleeding.

"The first thing you have to learn Tuck is to lick the spot you\'re going to bite, will your host no pain and lick the wound when you\'re done."

"More! Damn it let go!" He felt his body getting heavy. He just wanted to get to that woman. Her blood was pounding through his veins and he wanted -no- needed more. He couldn\'t seem to move much though. "Nat...what\'s happening?"

"Sleep Tucker. Just go to sleep and we\'ll talk when you wake up okay?"

"Don\'t want to sleep Nat...don\'t leave..." That was the last thing he knew before he unwillingly slumped against his brother\'s chest.

Nat sighed and looked to Jill. She just shrugged and walked very slowly back to her seat.

"Why didn\'t you stop him sooner?"

"Because he needed it Nathaniel."

"But you put yourself dangerously low woman. Don\'t you know what Jack will do to me when he finds out?" She just gave him an evil grin.

"After he\'s done, I\'ll be there to patch you up. Like always."

"Curse you." Nat picked Tucker up and looked around. "Where can I put him?"

"There\'s a bed back there." Nat nodded and walked away from the infuriating woman who aspired to be his adopted mother. He walked around the small corner and noted a bed. Nodding once, he looked around and made sure all of the window covers were down. Gently, he laid Tucker on the bed then crawled on next to him. No, there was no leaving now he thought. If he did, he\'d be no better than the rogues who left Jack only, this was his brother and not some random thing. With a few muttered curses, Nat let sleep pull him under once again, arms firmly locked around Tucker so his brother wouldn\'t make another escape.

He woke up when the plane landed. He felt groggy and was sorely depleted. He knew Jill was even more so. With a frown, he looked at the still sleeping blond in his arms and grunted. Why did he dye his hair anyways? Being part of the Black Pack was an honor and he\'d bleached it away. And cut it horribly short. His hair on the other hand, was still very natural black and came down to the middle of his back. before he\'d died, he\'d gotten it trimmed up with a few layers so it looked a little better and less raggedy. Now, he\'d never grow hair again so he didn\'t bother cutting it.

His thoughts were disturbed by Tucker moving around. His eyes blinked open and he watched as his brother turned, wrapped an arm around his waste, mumbled something he didn\'t quite catch and fell back to sleep. Nat groaned when he heard a feminine giggle. Gods above he hated that woman.

"Morning. Time to go. Jack\'s here with the car. He says hurry your ass up and you\'re going to be sorry when we get back."

"You told him it was my fault didn\'t you?"

"Of course! Couldn\'t blame it on the newbie could I? he just started, don\'t want him to bite the dust soon you know!" With a chuckle, she left and Nat glanced down at his brothers face. Still sleeping. Good lord how much sleep did he need? No, it was a good thing. It meant he wouldn\'t be trying to attack Jill or Jack for that matter. Picking up Tucker\'s sleeping form, Nat walked off the plain and to the car where one very agitated Jack was standing, car door open and waiting. After sliding himself and Tucker into the car, Jack shut the door and walked to the drivers side and got in then they went.

"What prompted you to hurt my wife?"

"Wasn\'t me Jack. As much as I threaten her, I know better. And frankly, I was too damn tired to bite her for picking on me."

"So it was that sleeping heap you\'ve got there."

"Don\'t even think about it Jack. He doesn\'t know any better. Just like you did when you were made and just like i didn\'t. Can\'t blame him for it."

"Yes I can." Nat looked up to see Jack staring right at him through the mirror.

"Look, I\'m sorry okay? I can\'t do anything about it. Yell at your wife. She let him take that much." When Jack glared at his wife she shrugged and he went off on a tangent about how irresponsible she was.

"Thanks Nat. Like I needed another reason to like my day time." She laughed when jack started sputtering and Nat couldn\'t help but smile.

"Nattie..." Nat looked down to see blue eyes blinking up at him.

"Don\'t call me that Tucker."

"Empty..."

"I know bro." Nat reached down and ran his hand through short blond locks. Tucker nearly purred but his eyes closed. "There\'s no more wolf bro. The emptiness won\'t ever go away. Go back to sleep okay?"

"Okay." Tucker moved and got comfortable on the seat, eyes closing and him going back to sleep. Someone cleared their throat and Nat blinked, looking up.

"What?"

"Nothing." Jack looked away from the mirror and back to the road. Jill was staring at him over her seat, eyes full of something he couldn\'t place.

"What?"

"I just didn\'t think it was possible for you to care for another being Nathaniel."

"Stop calling me that Jill. Gods above it\'s annoying when it comes out of your mouth."

"It\'s meant to be."

"Simply because I don\'t call you mommy. Jee thanks, makes me feel so much better Jill."

"Any time Batty."

"Don\'t call me that either."

"So what, you want me to call you asshole?"

"Might be better than Batty. Makes me sound crazy."

"Enough." They both shut up. Jack looked back to the mirror and straight at Nat. "Are you taking full responsibility for him Nat?"

"I made him Jack, of course."

"Are you okay with that?"

"I don\'t know yet."

"You have to be or you have to destroy him."

"That is not an option here Jack." Jack just nodded and went back to driving. Nat relaxed in the back of the car, closing his eyes.

"So, I heard you had a run in with oracles?"

"Who the hell told you?"

"You left my number on the fish\'s phone."

"Shit!"

"Right. So, what did they say?"

"A bunch of mumbo jumbo oracle speak that no one understands."

"What did they say Nat?" Nat sighed and told his sire what the two creepy twins said. Jack thought about it and then started laughing so hard he almost had to pull off the highway to compose himself. When Nat asked what it meant, he wasn\'t given an inch. When Jill asked, he knew Jack told her via mental channel and she too started laughing so hard she started crying. he didn\'t get it. Why weren\'t they telling him? He was the brains and he didn\'t get it. What on earth? Shaking his head, Nat relaxed once again and let himself slide into a meditative state.

When they finally reached the house, he got out and woke Tucker when Jill was out of sight. Jack stood behind him, watching Tucker like a hawk. His brother yawned -not that he really needed too- and rubbed his eyes. Nat waited until Tucker was clear of the car and shut the door.

"Who\'re you?" Tucker looked at Jack and Jack smiled a smile that made Nat wince and step next to his brother protectively.

"I\'m you\'re version of hell on wheels kid. Get inside before you make a scene."

"Huh? Was that a threat?" Tucker went on the offensive and Nat dragged his brother -kicking and hollering- into the house.

"Tucker Jack, Jack Tucker. Now you\'ve met, I\'m taking him to my side. Send someone or better yet, two someones over would you please?"

"Make sure he doesn\'t leave the room Nat."

"I know Jack."

"Do you?" Nat stopped and looked at Jack. Tucker frowned and watched as a silent understanding passed between the one called Jack and his brother. Nat continued dragging him along after a moment and when they finally stopped at a door, Tucker watched as Nat pulled out a silver key, which didn\'t burn him, and unlocked the door in front of him. Tucker was pushed in with a hard shove and Nat followed, closing the door behind him. The lights came on but they weren\'t overly bright but rather dim.

Tucker got a good look around him. The place looked like a small apartment minus a bathroom and kitchen. There was a bed in the center of the room that was large enough that it looked like it could fit an elephant. Okay, maybe not an elephant but it was huge enough to fit at least six people comfortably. It was made in dark green blankets. Satin by the looks over it. Off to the left side of the room was a door that was open. It was a closet. It was full of clothes and weapons. Next to the bed was a dresser, obviously more clothes. There was a night stand with an alarm clock, a small lamp, a phone, answering machine and a bunch of little devices that Tucker couldn\'t place. There were weapons and clothes strewn about the room along with magazines, news papers, pictures, note books, calenders. It looked a genuine mess.

"You live here?"

"You do too now."

"Gods you\'re a slob." Nat just shrugged.

"If it bothers you, oh well. Get over it Tuck."

"Why do I have to stay here, with you?"

"Because right now you\'re a lose cannon. If I let you go on your own, there would be a trail of bodies leading right to where you make your lair. That would give people like our targets a prime reason to kill you or leave you to bake in the sun. As you felt, the sun isn\'t very nice to those of us who have cursed blood running through our veins."

"And you decided I was a prime candidate to be on the receiving end huh? What the hell is your problem?" Before he could say anything else, Tuck found himself against a wall, face full of Nat who\'s eyes were slowly turning rage red.

"Listen here you ungrateful little fuck, I saved your life even if you don\'t want to realize it. I wasn\'t exactly game for this life either you know. I saved your ass because I would be thrice damned if I let my only living relative be murdered by fanatical monkey\'s who think to wipe out the existence of any non-human. Get over your death already because I am not about to take back what I did." Just as Nat started walking away, there was sound knock on the door.

"Enter."

"Nathaniel sir. The master sent us." Two men entered, heads bowed and Nat nodded.

"Come in and shut the door. Stay away from my brother." The nodded and stood by the door. Tucker\'s eyes were glued to them and he was subconsciously moving closer. "What are your names?"

"I\'m Thomas and this is Ted."

"This is Tucker." Nat moved and stopped Tucker.

"Nat, let go man. Their singing. I need it." As if sensing what he said, Tucker stopped and looked at Nat. "I didn\'t just say that did I?"

"You did. Now do you see why you are going to stay here?"

"Yea, I guess." He nodded and walked over to Nat, with a little difficulty and Nat grabbed a hold of his arm and held him in place.

"Do you both know why you\'re here?"

"To be of service sir," they both answered. Nat nodded.

"Do you know what kind of service?"

"We are willing hosts Nathaniel sir." Nat looked to Tucker.

"Willing hosts Tucker. Since the humans don\'t know about us, you need to use a little bit of mind play to get food. These humans however, are part of an agency that is helping to keep the secret of non-humans. They come willingly to give you strength. Thank them." Tucker looked strained, staying where he was but he ground out a thank you to them both. "Ted, please come here."

"Yes sir." Ted stepped forward but stood at arms length. When Nat told him, he walked forward slowly. Ted offered up his wrist to Nat.

"Tucker watch." Another ground out answer. In full view of his brother, Nat licked the skin, priming it for his teeth. He rolled his eyes up and sent the mental push for Ted to feel no pain and then bit down. When he felt blood well up, he retracted his fangs and told Ted to walk over to Tucker. The human shuttered but did as he was told. Tucker went to bite down but Nat\'s hand grabbed a fist full of hair and stopped him. "Just suck, Tucker. No need to bite." Tucker nodded, licking his lips. Ted brought his wrist up again and Tucker latched on. Ted shivered and groaned. He gained a very visible erection but said nothing as Tucker drank from him. When Nat thought his brother had taken enough, he pulled Tuckers head away and told him to lick the wound. Tucker did as he was told, amazingly.

Ted stepped away and then walked out of the room. Thomas was still standing at the door.

"Get on the bed Tucker."

"Need more bro."

"No you don\'t. Not yet." When Tucker didn\'t listen, Nat growled and held both of his arms. "Thomas, please come here." Thomas stepped forward and held out his wrist. Nat licked, bit and sucked. He groaned as the taste filled his mouth. His eyes rolled up and he noticed Thomas\' were closed. He kept his eyes focused on Thomas\' face, watching for when he\'d taken enough. When Thomas started to flush, Nat pulled back and licked the wound. Jack told him to watch the face of his hosts so he wouldn\'t get lost in the need that rose up with feeding. It helped a lot more than he thought it would when he\'d been told.

"Pleasure to host you sirs." Thomas bowed and left the room, also sporting an erection just like his friend Ted.

"Why didn\'t you let me have more Nat?"

"Because you don\'t need more than one host per night. That\'s what I\'m here for."

"For what?"

"To teach you control Tucker."

"Why do you live with Jack?"

"He sired me."

"And you can\'t live on your own?"

"I\'m..." Nat paused and let out a breath. "I\'m not ready yet Tucker. Ten years dead doesn\'t mean anything to a vampire."

"How long will I live with you?"

"Until you learn enough control to live on your own."

"How long?"

"If I haven\'t learn enough control to live on my own then you have no hope to move out right now."

"Son of a bitch."

"Hn." Nat let go of Tucker and walked over to the phone where he lifted up one of the few notepads there and started dialing in a number. After an explanation and assurances and what Tucker realized was a wince on his brother\'s part, Nat hung up and sighed, rubbing his forehead. "What is your contractors number?"

"Why?"

"So I can call him and let him know you fell in the line of duty and will be out of commission for a while."

"Like hell! I\'m not out of commission for anything!" Tucker glared at his brother who just stared at him.

"You can\'t even control the need to feed Tucker. How to expect to be around blood on a regular basis? Fresh, pumping blood?" Tucker groaned and put a hand over his ears.

"Stop it man! Stop it!"

"Why Tucker? Isn\'t that what you want? To go and chase down those two men, taking what they so freely offered?" When Tucker started and stopped for the door twice he turned back, rage painted across his face.

"I get your point fuck face now stop it."

"Fine." Nat walked around the room and started picking things up, tossing what was obviously dirty into a small pile that had been started what looked like forever ago. Deciding to get his mind off of chasing down the two men, the decision to stop easier without them in the room, he bent down and started helping Nat clean. If he was forced to live here he sure as hell wasn\'t living in a sty.

"What about lovers? I mean damn, do I forgo them as well?"

"Think about the hottest chick you\'ve ever laid and what it was like."

"Why?"

"Do it." Tucker frowned and thought back. Oh yea. Blond babe. Only, it wasn\'t female. Yea, he did chicks but he did guys too and the hottest person he\'d slept with was a guy. Gods he did crazy shit. He was getting horny just thinking about it.

"Got your thought?"

"Hm."

"Look at your crotch." Tucker looked down and noticed he wasn\'t hard. Hell, whenever he wanted to get off without someones help, all he had to do was think about sex and he was sporting an erection the size of Texas.

"What the hell?"

"Vampires don\'t get erections Tuck. Not unless they have a destined mate and even then, they have to find them and claim them."

"So, Jill is like...Jack\'s mate or something?"

"Yes." Tucker swallowed.

"How old is Jack man?"

"Seven hundred and thirty."

"Oh..shit. I didn\'t know there were any ancients left. Thought they were all wiped out."

"And you drained his wife."

"That was why he was looking at me like that wasn\'t it?"

"Yes Tucker. Stop playing stupid."

"How do you live with it?" Nat stopped and looked at his brother.

"I\'m dead Tucker. I don\'t live with it."
