Chapter 4

I felt the floor tilt at my feet, and I jerked awake, realizing I was actually back on the bed.

The lights were off, and someone was sitting on the end of the bed, watching me with green eyes which I could see. They were glowing.

“Who the he-,” all of a sudden a hand clamped onto my mouth, and I could feel someone breathing on me from being so close.

“Shh. I’m not supposed to be here. At least not without them.” A male whispered, and I glared at him though the dark.

“Who the hell are you?” I whispered when he finally removed his hand. I heard rustling, and then light flooded into the room from one of the windows. The bed dipped, and he was sitting beside me, but at a place on the bed where the light couldn't reach, keeping me from seeing his face.

“Gage,” he answered quietly. It was him!

I was suddenly angry, and before it registered in my mind, I had him pinned beneath me. I was straddling his hips and my fingers were clutched around his neck.

He gasped, and began struggling, clawing at my hands, but I didn‘t lose my grip. My fingers clenched tighter, and soon he stopped trying to get away, his hands falling to the bed and his body going limp.

And then he blinked, and tried coughing. That’s sort of when I remembered that vampires didn’t need to breath if they didn't have to. Shit.

I stopped trying to strangle him, instead going for his wrists, and pinning them up near his head, to hold him in place.

We stared at each other for a minute, before he finally spoke. “I’m sorry… for biting you.” And he really did look sorry.

Okay… definitely something I wasn’t expecting. Especially from a vampire.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!” We both jumped as someone barged through the door, pushing it hard enough to slam shut again, turned the lights on and before I knew it, I was pinned against the wall.

“Gary, stop!” Gage started pulling at the man’s arms, the one who had me against the wall.

“Why the fuck are you telling me to stop, he was fucking touching you!” Gary yelled at him, and I froze in my struggling, even though he was crushing my throat.

“What…?” Gage stopped pulling on his arms, and then seemed to figure out what the man was talking about, because he suddenly blushed.

“It’s not what you think,” he said quietly, and Gary gave him a surprised looked.

“You mean… you were letting him…?” Gage blushed again.

“NO!” I was still confused as to what they were talking about. “It was nothing like that,” Gage said quietly, and Gary finally let go of my, and I slid to the floor, coughing harshly.

“Then what was it?”

“WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING IN HERE?!” The door slammed open again, Gareth had rushed in this time, Meredith trailing behind with a worried look on her face.

“This guy was trying to take advantage of Gage.” What?! I was not! Well, now that I think about it, the image he must of seen when he came in, when I was straddling Gage, pinning him down...

Oh.

“He was not!” Gage yelled out, yet his face was very red. Out of anger or embarrassment, I‘m not too sure. Probably both.

“Then what he was doing?” The older man asked, his anger seemed barely contained.

Gage was quiet, and I was rubbing my throat. There was probably going to be a bruise.

“TELL ME-,” Gareth started, but Gage cut him off.

“Get the fuck out!” Gage yelled, and Gareth looked at him, eyes wide in surprise, then anger. He was about to say something, when Meredith stepped in.

“Gareth, Gary, do what he says,” she said, giving them both a glare. Gareth shot me a suspicious glance, before heading out, same as Gary.

“Thanks,” Gage told her before they both sat down on the bed, then he looked to me. “Sorry about that, they’re both kind of overprotective.” I might’ve figured that out already.

“You’re probably very hungry by now,” Meredith said, got up, and went to the door. “I’ll be back in a second.” She closed the door behind her.

I was still sitting on the floor, and tried getting up. Gage saw what I was doing, and walked over, holding out his hand, looking as dejected as a kicked puppy.

“Go away,” I practically snarled at him, and he only looked even sadder, which sort of made me feel a little guilty, much to my surprise.

Gage continued to hold out his hand, but I ignored it and managed to get to my feet, before leaning back on the wall. Gage walked over to the other side of the room, and leaned on the other wall. Probably to let me have the bed, since he most likely figured out that I didn’t want him nowhere near me.

I noticed when I stood up, that he barely even came up to my shoulder.

“What do you want with me?” I asked, but Gage didn’t answer. “Why don’t you just kill me?” I’d been wanting to know this for a while. They were vampires, and vampires didn’t leave Hunter’s alive, so why me? Why were they being so nice, even if just to feed me?

“Because,” Meredith had come back to the room, carrying a plate of pizza. “If you die, so does he.”

I snorted, “Yeah right. I’ve never heard of something like that.”

“I would have expected as much,” I raised an eyebrow.

“What do you mean?” Meredith set the plate on the bed, and gestured me over.

“How much do you actually know about the Bonded.” She asked. I finally came over, and she moved away, giving me space.

“I know that they practically slaves to vampires so that they could eat whenever they needed.” Actually, that’s about all I know.

“To some yes, but there’s a reason why it’s called a Bond, it means the two are connected. If one dies, so does the other.” Okay, just don’t kill him. Fine. I could probably find something to lock him up in…

“There’s something else.” she continued, expression matching that of Gage. I groaned.

“What?” I bet it’s something bad.

“Well, while you’ve been asleep- and let me tell you this now, it happens to all Bonded- your body changed a little.” It… changed? “Your blood cells multiply at a much faster rate, and there’s no way to get them out, except to have a vampire- a vampire has a certain chemical in their saliva, it slows the process of the reproduction of new blood cells- anyway, a vampire has to suck your blood, that way your body doesn’t overproduce, do you get it?”

“What…?”

“I’m saying that, unless you want to die, you have to let Gage suck your blood.”

“What?!”

“I said that you-,”

“Wait wait wait, I heard you, but, just… what?” I have never heard of something like this. I told them that too.

“That’s because it doesn’t happen that much, vampires usually change they‘re partners, and most don’t want some human hanging onto them, and having to protect both himself and their Bonded.

“But there are some advantages of course. Bonded don’t age, and can work for the vampire in the daytime, since, as you know, vampires can’t stand sunlight. I saw her throw a glance at Gage, before turning back to me.

“And… there’s no way to reverse it?” I looked at both of them pleadingly. There’s no way I could do this. I’d rather kill myself. And, even though I really don’t want to die, I would.

“I’m sorry, but there’s no way that I know of.” She said, looking at her hands, which were wringing a handkerchief she’d pulled out of somewhere.

“But!” she looked up suddenly, “There is someone who might. But… he might be dead for all I know… And besides, it’d be better to have nothing to do with him.” My ears perked up, and I was about to ask who, when Gage spoke.

“You mean Uncle Burdy?” Let me guess, another vampire. Meredith nodded, and for the first time, I saw disgust on Gage’s face. Apparently he wasn’t their most favorite person in the world.

“Is he someone who can help?” I asked, rubbing my forehead. I could feel a headache coming on. I looked up when no one answered, and saw that both Meredith and Gage where staring at me. The woman with a thoughtful gaze, and the boy with something close to embarrassment.

“Is something wrong?” I raised an eyebrow, and watched as the boy blushed, and even the woman seemed slightly nervous about something.

“What?” I asked, dreading the answer. The woman licked her lips, looked at Gage, and back at me. Oh, god no.

“Well, let’s just say it’s that time of the week.” I dropped to the floor with a groan.

“No.” I said after a while.

“You don’t have much of a choice, honey,” Meredith said to me, her voice soft.

“I’ll figure something out,” I’m not too sure what I’d do, but I’d do it. I don’t care if it meant death, but I was not going to be some slave to a vampire.

“I don’t think you’d have time. Since you’re newly Bonded, your body is making more blood at a much faster rate at the moment. If you don’t get it out, it’s bound to kill you by morning, which is… a few hours from now.”

As I listened to her talk, my head started to throb, and I wasn’t sure to believe her or not. I mean, why should I?

“I guess I should go ahead and mention that your going to have to have your blood sucked about three days a week, but only for the first month or so. It will slow out, more and more, over time.” Hell, this just gets better and better. I have to let him suck me three times a week for a whole month.

“There’s… also something else…” she trailed off, looking sorry. Oh God, what now?

“What?” I asked tiredly, another answer dreaded.

“Your… going to have to talk to Gage about that,” Meredith said, before leaving the room before I had time to open my mouth. So I turned to Gage.

“What is she talking about?” I looked at the boy who was leaning against the wall, looking tense.

“Well, um… it’s when I bite you.”

“What, am I going to faint again?” I asked sarcastically.

“You might think of that as a better alternative.” He told me, getting off the wall.

“Why is that?” I asked. There weren’t many stories with people who’d gotten bit by a vampire, and the vampire let them live, so Hunter’s didn’t have too much experience with it.

“I don’t know that much, actually, even though I am what I am, but Mom and Dad has told me a bunch. More than I wanted, actually.”

“How could you not know?” I asked skeptically.

“Your kind of the first person I’ve actually fed from before.” I couldn’t help it, I started laughing. The boy blushed, and looked away.

“Your- your kidding, right?” I said, after I’d calmed myself.

“No, I’m not, actually. If it wasn’t for you shooting me, I wouldn’t have ever had a taste before. And god, now that I have, I just… want more, you know? Like an addiction.” He got a faraway look on his face, and I stared at him in wonder.

“Just how old are you, exactly?” I asked, never had blood before? The boy looked at me, sadness returning to his eyes. Well, more like it never left.

“I’ll be turning a hundred and thirty in a few weeks.” Now I knew there was no way I could believe him. There was no way for a newborn, especially for a teenage one, to resist blood.

He must have seen the disbelief in my eyes, before he sighed, closing his eyes.

“I’ve had the taste for blood ever since I was born, but it wasn’t strong, and I guess I was able to fight it, especially since there weren’t any humans around.”

“What do you mean, ‘Ever since you were born?’ As a vampire?” I guess most thought as being reborn.

“No.” He opened his eyes, “It’s complicated, and I really don’t want to talk about it,” He explained. Too bad that only left me more curious. I would have asked him though, if my head didn’t start aching even worse, and I could almost feel the pounding in my head throughout the rest of my body.

“Go back to what would happen.” Gage understood what I was talking about, because he answered.

“The first bite, when two are Bonded, hurts both of us. I passed out too.” I waited for him to continue, and after a few seconds, he did. “After that, it feels really weird.”

“Weird, how?”

“Um… I really wish I didn’t have to explain this…” he mumbled, before speaking up, “Weird in the way that you’ll really like it.” I rolled my eyes.

“Believe me, there’s no way I could like it.”

“Want to bet on that?” He said quietly.

“Either way, I’m not going to let you bite me.” I didn’t even want to risk it.

“You’ll die, otherwise.”

“Guess so.”

“You’ll pass out before me, and I might take the chance to bite you before we both die.”

“You wouldn’t dare.” I’d kill him otherwise.

“Probably not…” He trailed off. He didn’t look at me, just walked to the window, the curtains still open.

“What the hell?” Why not?

“If you want to die, I’m not going to stop you,” he explained. “Actually, there’s no way I could stop you. It’s not like I can control your will or something.”

I didn’t say anything. It’s not like I wanted to die, and I really didn’t want to commit suicide or anything. But… I didn’t want to be bitten again.

“Look, why don’t we get this over and done with, and then will try to find some way out of this.”

“You seem pretty eager.” The expression he gave me was pained, and he wouldn’t look me in the eyes.

“I’ve had a taste. I told you, it’s like an addiction.” What if I do do this? I mean, I could just go along with it, find a way to get rid of this bond, and, maybe find out if they’re actually telling the truth in the process. I could even learn even better ways to kill vampires.

It felt like something was twitching in my body, and my everything was starting to get blurry.

“Fine,” I said. Gage’s head snapped over to me, surprise on his face.

“W-what?” He stuttered.

“I said fine, now hurry up and get it over with.” I commanded, and stood up, and watched as the boy came slowly over to me.

I noticed again our height difference. He could barely reach my neck, so how where we going to do this? I voiced it out loud, and he stopped, looking at me in thought.

“Sit,” he told me, and I raised an eyebrow. “Just do it,” he said when I didn’t comply. I glared at him, before sitting at the end of the bed, moving the plate a little farther away, making sure that nothing fell off.

Gage stared at me, and I could see his face getting red again, before I finally told him to hurry up.

“Fine, fine,” he said, before reaching over slowly and laying his hands on my shoulders. I shuddered in disgust of having a vampire touching me.

“You sure about this?” he asked, his eyes almost pleading. I nodded. If he didn’t hurry up, I was going to change my mind and stop this. “Alright then. But remember, you asked for it.”

I moved my head, to give him better access, and he moved to the open bit of skin. He did the same thing as the first night, smelling me first.

Again, I felt something pierce my skin, but this time it was different. It didn’t particularly feel bad, but not good either. That is, until he started to suck, and I felt a sudden jolt.

My whole body felt like it was on fire, except in a good way, if there was a good way. It just got hotter and hotter, and most of that heat started pooling at the bottom of my stomach, and oh my god, it felt good.

Before I knew it, Gage’s knee’s where on either side of me, and my fingers where clenching his shirt, pushing on his back so I could get his body closer to mine.

As his body was crushed to mine, I shuddered for a whole new reason, and let out a breath I hadn’t known I was holding, almost like a moan.

I wasn’t sure if I’d fallen back, or if he’d pushed my back, but soon I was underneath him, and his hips
where grinding into mine. My own where thrusting up to meet his.

I was starting to become hard, and with his hips touching mine, I could feel he was too.

He finally stopped drinking at the spot on my neck, and licked the wounds. I was still panting hard when he looked at me, before leaning down and kissing me. It wasn’t too long until my tongue was in his mouth, mapping the warm, wet cavern that tasted heavily of blood. It wasn’t the best taste, but sort of exotic, and only turned me on more.

Gage moaned into the kiss, and I ran my hands underneath his shirt, and started teasing his nipples, making them erect.

The boy stopped the kiss, and moved to put his head in the crook of my neck, panting in my ear as he continued to grind into me, getting a little rougher.

From the haze, I forgot that we were at the bottom of the bed, and tried to roll us over, so that I could get control, but managed to throw us off the bed. It didn’t stop us.

I captured his lips again, and moved to put my hands on the button of his pants, and undid them, pulling it down so that I could get an easy grip on his hard member.

Gage arched into my hand, and the moans got even louder as I began to pump him, slowing down long enough to smear the precome over the head. Not soon after he came, thin white streams spilling into my hand.

I didn’t even bother to clean off my hand as I moved to his neck, and began to suck and nip, leaving marks.

His shirt was raised up to his exposed nipples, and I removed it the other day, the boy unresisting.
I was about to remove his pants, when I noticed his hand was sneaking down into my pants, touching at my member tentatively.

I moaned, and began to thrust into his hand, the grip feeling so good.

The hand sped up, and I came in a shivering, panting mess.

Only then did the haze clear and I realized what had just transpired.

"Fuck."
