Chapter 3

My life ends

Kate led me up the stairs right to the bedroom of Drake’s parent’s house. I knew that it had to be their bedroom doors. It had two new wooden doors that still looked glossy. I could almost see my reflection in them.

I stared at the doors and realized that I didn’t know why she had led me all the way up here. I turned to look at her when I saw that she was looking at me out of the corner of her eyes.

“Minnie why are you looking like I am going to kill you or something?” She said as she folded her arms. “I’m sorry if you want to go or something.”

“No I am ok.” I told her knowing if she said she was sorry that meant she was getting annoyed and I didn’t want to get her annoyed right now. She seemed to be getting easily more annoyed ever since Jena died and I wasn’t sure why. “Why are we out here?”

I watched as her eyes looked back at the door smiling.

“I told Mike that you were going to meet him up here.” She said putting her hand on the door knob. “I mean you know me and his friend Matt are talking. Stephenie is talking to Leon, and Mindy well Mindy is going to talk to Drake, but you well you could be talking to Mike.”

She pushed open the door and walked in. I saw that Matt was sitting in one of Drake parents sofas chairs, Stephenie and Leon were on the bed talking each other laughing it up. I didn’t see Mike anywhere.

It wasn’t until I was really in the room did I see him. He was on the far end of the room against the wall smiling at me. I turned my head from him and looked at Kate.

“Hey baby what took so long?” Matt said and Kate rolled her eyes then walked over to him to sit on his lap.

“I had to find my friend.” Kate said and looked at me as if she was asking me what I was doing all the way over there.

I took a step forward not at all liking the feeling I was starting to get from being in this room: Fear. I was becoming afraid.

What did she want me to do in here?

Kate hands went all though Matt hair and she kissed him lightly on the lips. I turned my eyes from her and saw that Stephenie was leaving with Leon hand in hand.

“We are leaving man.” Leon said pulling a giggling Stephenie out of the room.

Matt shook his head getting up but holding on to Kate so she would not fall.

“Yeah we should get going to.” Matt said holding Kate hand.

“Yeah, we’ll see you two later.” Kate said looking right at me.

“How am I supposed to get home?” I asked when I saw that they were leaving the room and not even telling me to follow.

“Mike said he would make sure you got home.” Kate said as she walked out of the door closing it, but not before I could see a smile on her lips.

I stared at the door for a long moment and could not believe the place I was in right now. How could my so called friend do this to me?

I wished Mindy was here. At least then she would have called me and told me to hurry and meet her out front.

“So why are you all the way over there?”

I turned and looked at Mike.

He walked to the bed and set down. He motioned for me to come set down by him, but I didn’t move. I only continued to stare at him.

Yes he was cute. Nice blue eyes, dark red hair, and his body wasn’t bad, but I didn’t like him. It took more than just looks for me to want to date you and a whole lot more for me to ever sleep with him.

What I knew is that was what he wanted from me and I knew I wasn’t going to give it to him. Kate may have told him that I would, but I wasn’t.

“Minnie, why don’t you just sit down? I am not going to bite you sweetie.” He said and I laughed slightly. “Unless that’s what you want me to do.”

I shook my head and against my better judgment I went to sit down at the edge of the bed.

He was looking at me with a look I really could not read and honestly I didn’t want to read. I looked passed him and I tried to think of a way out of here.

Maybe I could tell him I was feeling sick or that my curfew was coming in like five minutes. I don’t know what I should do.

I bit my bottom lip.

“So Minnie how do you like the school so far?” He asked moving a little closer to me.

Like he cared. I wanted to say but shook my head against it.

“It’s fine.”

“No one is giving you any trouble right.”

You were my first week here. Just like everyone else did. You all teased me and Jena.

“No.”

“Good because I would hurt anyone who did.” He said.

You would hurt yourself? I wanted to ask him but didn’t.

He put his hand on mine and I looked at him.

When had he got so close to me?

I stared into his eyes and I didn’t like what I saw: Want. I didn’t like him and truly did not want him so why was he looking at me like that. I did not like this stupid boy.

I wanted to go home right now.

Some of his hair began to fall over his eyes and he did not seem to care.

“Minnie I really like you a lot.” He spoke softly like he only wanted me to be able to hear what he had just said and I just opened my eyes wide at him knowing he was lying.

“Take me home Mike.” I told him and he just moves his hands to my hair.

“Don’t you want to talk?”

“No, I don’t. I want to go home. I don’t feel too good and my curfew is almost here.” I said hoping he would believe me.

“You have beautifies huh.” He smiled. I did not say that! “Come on I know it’s your first time. Kate told me that. She also said you wanted to do this, with me. It’s ok, I will be gentle ok.” He told me as he tried to kiss me.

I moved and got up off of the bed. I glared down at him now angry.

“I want to go home!” I said again and folded my arms.

Kate was so going to pay for this.

“Why are you acting like a baby?” He asked getting up as well. He tried to pull me to him, but I moved away. “I thought you were better than this. I didn’t know that babies went to school with the grown kids.”

I rolled my eyes at him.

“A minute ago you were saying how you would hurt anyone who talked about me.” I mumbled.

I didn’t like him at all at this moment. He was no better than dirt. “Take me home.”

“What do I get for taking you home?” He smirked and went to grab me again.

I moved away and went for the door. “I’ll fine my own way home.” I said and knew I should have been did this. I walked out the door and went down the stairs. People seemed to be passed out or so drunk that they really did not know what was going on, but I did not care. I was just ready to leave.

I just kept to the front door and walked out of it. I did not want to call my mom to pick me up and I only had a few dollars on my so calling a cab was out. I didn’t know how I was going to get home, but I was going to try and find a way.

Maybe Mindy would come over and pick me up.

“Hey, what are you doing here still?”

I knew that voice. It was him, the handsome guy.

Turning my around I saw him looking at me with those beautiful eyes of his. I smiled. I do not know why, but I smiled. I was happy to see him for some odd reason seeing him standing there made me happy.

“Why are you still here? I thought you had left.” I said and looked down on the ground.

“No I just thought I let you talk to that girl.”

I rolled my eyes at the thought of Kate.

“Kate only holds her best interest at heart.” He whispered to me.

I frowned. Even he knew how Kate was, I wonder how. Did he ever date her or something?

With his good looks I’m sure he has broken a lot of hearts. I wonder if he would try and break mine.

“Need a ride home?” He asked.

I did not know if I should tell him yes. I didn’t really know him, but he didn’t seem like he was worst than Mike and I knew I could not walk home it was too far.

“You wouldn’t mind?” I said as I saw him smile warmly at me making me shiver.

“No, I don’t have anything else important to do Diamond.”

I smiled and followed him when he began to walk away. He led me to a motorcycle and my eyes went big looking at him.

“This is yours?”

He smiled at me and grabbed my hand pulling me to him. My chest hit his and I shivered.

I stared into his beautiful eyes and I didn’t want to stop staring. He didn’t seem to want to stop either; he put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer.

“Where do you leave, Diamond?” He asked as he stared into my eyes.

I don’t know why but I begin to lean in closer to him wanting to know what it felt like to have his lips on mine.

I whispered to him where I lived and just as my lips were about to be on his beautiful full ones he got up off of his motorcycle and handed me a helmet.

My eyes stared at him not understanding, but slowly realizing how stupid I had to be to even think someone like him would ever like me.

“So are you ready.” He asked as he got on his bike.

I just put the helmet on my head frowning. I got on the bike and thought about how I was going to hold on to him. I didn’t want to hold on to him to tight just for him to regret ever giving me a lift for he would think I like him and would be mad.

My arms went around his waist not to tightly but I knew it would be tight enough that he wouldn’t think I liked him a lot. I hope he just forgot all about me trying to kiss him.

“You better hold on tighter then that love or you are going to fall off.” I knew he was smirking that, but I didn’t care.

“I will be fine.” I said then looked up noticing that he didn’t have a helmet on. “Don’t you need a helmet?”

“No.”

“But not riding with one is dangerous.” I reasoned.

“It’s not like it’s going to kill me.” His laughed as his bike engine roared.

“What?” I asked as he pulled off fast and I held onto him more. I didn’t have to be smart to know that he had that beautiful smirk on his beautiful lips.

We were going fast…to fast really. Everything seemed to be going by us very quickly. I was wondering how we were pasting cars so quickly and they didn’t even seem like they noticed us, but then again we were passing everything in a blink of an eye.

I didn’t even feel us stop until we reached my house and I didn’t even feel faint or even dizzy the way I thought I would have felt from going so fast.

He helped me off of his bike and smiled at me when I tried to hand him his helmet.

“Why don’t you keep it? You’ll need it for now on.” He said turning his head from me.

“I don’t think that will be a good idea, what will I tell my mom.” I asked and saw him put his hands on the front of his bike.

“I don’t know, but you are good with coming up with stories right?” He asked then drove away.

What did he mean by that? I just rolled my eyes and watched as his loud motorcycle drove away from me too fast for my eyes to follow him all the way to the end of the block.

I looked at his helmet sighing. What was I going to tell my mom about this?

Walking to my front door I unlocked it and walked in closing the door as well as locking it behind me. I tried to walk up to my room without my mom catching me.

“Minnie.”

I frowned and turned to see my mom standing right in front of me. Her hair was different

I noticed right as soon as I looked at her.

It was cut short and curled at the end. I wasn’t too sure why she had done so, but I thought this was perfect, maybe I could just ask her about her hair and go up to my room.

“I didn’t hear Mindy pull up, but I heard the door and knew it could only be you.” She said and I knew I had to hurry to change the subject before she asked about the loud motorcycle she had heard.

“Why did you cut your hair mom?” I asked her and continued to slowly back up to go up the stairs.

I was happy she didn’t seem too noticed as she smiled at me.

“Yes, Wendy said she thought I would look cute with short curls and I have to admit that

I agree. It helps bring out my beautiful face.” She said blushing; my step father must have told her that. “But if I had your hair I would never cut it.”

“Thanks mom.” I said wanting to roll my eyes. “I need to go.”

I couldn’t believe she was not asking me about the helmet. Maybe she just didn’t really notice.

“Wait Minnie, Katelyn called you and said she wanted to talk to you as soon as you got in.” She said as I walked up the steps.
Hearing her name made me angry again. How had I forgotten all of what she had done to me today?

“Ok I’ll call her tomorrow.” I murmured as I walked to my door.

I hate Kate! I hate her so much and at times I wished I could kill her. She had gone too far this time. She really has.

I slammed my bedroom door closed and jumped on my bed. I hated her.

How dare she tell Mike that I would have sex with his dumb butt! She knew full well I have never had sex before.

The day I did finally have sex it would be with someone I loved! It wouldn’t be….I didn’t know who it would be wit it just wouldn’t be right now with him.

What the heck was Kate thinking!?

I wanted nothing more than to make her pay for everything she has done. I sighed. I may have hated her, but I don’t think I ever would do anything about it.

I went into the bathroom and took a shower. Once I was down I went back into my bedroom and got on my bed.

Maybe I should just let it go. I mean I didn’t do anything with him and maybe Kate was only looking out for my best interest.

“Kate only holds her best interest at heart.”

Should I listen to him? It’s not like me and him are friends or anything. He doesn’t even know me. Why should I listen to him?

I closed my eyes.

Sleep was what I needed. Once I fell asleep I would feel better in the morning. I lied to myself knowing I would still feel horrible.
