The Pub Club
I spent the rest of my travels cooped up inside my room, few times though I went up on deck to get some fresh air. But I never saw Kegan Wills again after my first night on the ship. The reason why decided to stay in my room was the morning of the second day on the ship, I woke to find my chest covered in semen, I got scared and locked myself in fearing that I might get raped or killed while wondering about the ship. The cook was willing to bring me my food though, he seemed nice. I told him about the sperm and all that he did was laugh, thinking it was some crud joke the sailors play on one another.
“Its funny,” he said to me one night as he brought to me my dinner plate. “Mr. Wills was requested his dishes to be sent to his room as well.”
This struck me, I guess Kegan felt the same way that I did after the kiss up in the crows nest. That still got to me too. I lied awake so many times with an erection from that night. It only happen two weeks ago, yet it felt as if it happen the night before. After three weeks at sea, I thought the day when we reached land would never come, but it did.. When the ship docked in the pier, I searched around trying to find Kegan, I wanted to thank him once again for saving my life but couldn’t find him though the crowed streets of the city.
“You have a place to go?” James, the sailor who I first met when I first woke on the ship asked me.
I shook my head. “Come with us then, he said, leading me away from The Sting, “me and some of the others are heading towards the pub, there you can find some lodging.” I fallowed James, turning my head this way and that to find Kegan before I left, but failed when James pulled me along harder ‘cause I was lagging behind the rest of the sailors.

Though the crowded streets of Siletz, I saw all kinds of street venders selling their goods and trades to people in very odd and elaborate clothing, which looked like middle class people from the 17th century and some of which showed hardly ware any cloths at all. ‘What kind of a place is this?’ I thought, fallowing James and his friends to the pub as I looked around the streets of the city. We walked down the cobble stone streets of the city, which James told me was the capital of this world.
“This is The Central City,” he told me, as we dodged out of people’s way. “Siletz is the name of this world-or country, whatever you would like to call it.”
I still don’t know much about this place, though while on the ship the cook told me about it. And that it was a small city where if you get up at dawn and start at one side of the city, you can walk to the other side before dinner. As we walked, I notice that in the ally ways of the city, loomed dark figures in the darkness, once I saw about ten standing in the shadows of a large building.
“Pay no attention to them,” James said, when I stopped momentarily to gaze at these dark figures.
“Who are they?” I asked, as we continued on.
“Creatures of the night. They loom in alleys, praying on helpless souls and animals who get too close to the dark allies, filling their thirst for blood, most of them are strays that ran away from their masters after they get turned, never learning the right ways to feed.”
“Vampires?” I asked, thinking that was the only thing that came to mind when James told me who those things where.
He nod. I gulped and stayed closer to the group more then ever as to not get snatch up and become a vampire’s next meal. We soon came to a dead end street and James ushered me into a door on the right hand side. Above the entrance way hung a sign saying, “The Pub Club.” inside, it was crowded and you could barely move around. Packed like sardines, I squeeze my way over to the stairs where it was much less crowded and I then fallowed the group to a corner table where a waitress shortly came over.
“What will it be, boys?” she asked us. We all ordered our drinks- rum and whisky all around. I asked for water, being that I was under age but James covered my mouth and ordered me a pint of rum for me. She smiled and with a flare of her long gypsy like dress, she vanished into the crowd. As we waited for our drinks, I started to ask more questions about the people who lived in the city.
“The Rich,” Rick said, another sailor who tagged along with us and who was sitting on the other side of me, James sat on the other side so I was right in the middle of the two guys.
“Most people who live in or on the outskirts of the city are rich people who can own houses, the rest, like us-” James took over the question, “live either outside of Central City or miles away from it.”
“And the people who were dressed in rags that I saw…?”
“Pets.” Rick said with a smirk.
“Pets?”
“Aye…Pets are like slaves or servants to the vampires, but they use them for different reasons too. Going into town and doing deeds for their masters, they are the lowest of the low and are treated like dirt. Reason why they are dressed in rags or none at all, it tells everyone what they are.”
“And the government allows this sort of thing to go on?”
“ The government put it in play so that vampires won’t go and kill every human in Siletz.”
Thinking about pets, vampires and all the new things that I’ve been caught up in now I started to understand it more.
.
“All right boys, five rums and six whiskeys” the waitress said when she came back with a tray full of our drinks, “That’s ten reds, please.”
As Rick passed out the drinks, James pulled out a leather purse and handed the waitress two red coins three red coins, which she took happily. She thanked us for the payment and the tip James gave her and started heading off back into the crowd and to her other customers, but not before James pulled her back in and set her on his lap. Pressing his lips onto hers in a passionate kiss, I watched them go at it for a while as I drank my pint, ans the other men around our table cheered and whistle at the pair. As they kissed savagely, their hands intertwined though their hair and cloths, James pulled out a piece of paper which was folded up and slid it into her blouse. His lips parted with hers and he whispered something in her ear as he squeezed her breast, his hand still hadn’t left the inside of her blouse. The waitress smiled and giggled as he whispered to her, she looked at me as she went on her way.
“James,” Rick smirked, “you’re a married man-”
“Yeah, but that still doesn’t mean that I can fuck around with the women of our city.” he laughed and took a mighty gulp from his drink before, slamming it down on the table and wiping his upper lip of foam and wet rum.

“How you feeling?” James asked me. The pub had become so crowded now that it was difficult to hear each other talking.
“Great!” I shouted back at him, taking a gulp from my fourth pint of rum this evening. I didn’t know how to pay back James for all this rum, but I would find a way. Our waitress came back and took James by surprise, putting her hand down his pants and licking inside of his ear, whispering something in it as she did. She gave him a peck on the cheek before leaving, leaving us to finish our rum and whisky.
“What’s that?” I asked, starting to feel light headed so I rested my head lightly on the table. James took out a fold up note out of his pants, the waitress must have slipped it in and he read it quickly before taking up the candle and burning the paper.
“We need to go,” he said motioning to Rick and me, everyone else who had came with us had now gone home. Scooting out of out booth, I started to feel a dizzy and the room began to spin.
“You okay Alex?” Rick asked, seeing the condition that I was in.
“Sure, I’m-” I started to get up, but fell to the floor. “Maybe I had one to many rums.” I placed my hand to my head and my vision started to get blurry. I heard everyone around me laugh and chat, not noticing me. I had gotten drunk before but it never felt like this. Something was clearly wrong and I knew it wasn‘t the four rums I had. I started up at Rick and James who where both looking at each other, smiling I couldn’t tell but I think Rick was laughing. I groan, “Oh…I don’t feel so good.”
“Don’t worry kid,” James said, “everything is going to be all right.” Rick then picked me up and carry me down the stairs. As I laid motionless in Ricks arms, my head dangling freely and staring at the strangers in the pub upside down, I happen to meet eyes with one person who stood out from all the rest. He had on a sorrowful look as if he felt sorry for me some how. I didn’t how long I stared at him for, but he soon diapered though the crowed.
“The boss will like this one.” where the last words I heard Rick say before blacking out in his arms, wondering what was going to happen to me.
“Its funny,” he said to me one night as he brought to me my dinner plate. “Mr. Wills was requested his dishes to be sent to his room as well.”
