Sex in the next chapter. Unfortunately it is non-con. Booo. T.T

Thanks for your review, Thad_Dereks, I made some changes on your recomendation (lol, I do that nested like thing all the time, it is some stupid valley girl habit I picked up when texting), but I have not uploaded the edited chapters yet. Lawl, I probably would not have finished this chapter up if you had not encouraged me, so thanks.

Eventually the entire group of travelers gathered together back at the campsite to discuss what was to be done with the young whore. Evin didn’t like the idea of her coming with, although less because of what the mage might be planning on doing to her and more because of what a waste of resources it would be to take on a girl who obviously could not take care of herself. Livina said it would be fine with her, Lycen figured she would give him the benefit of the doubt. She did not like him one bit, but she would tolerate him until he gave her reason not to. Sylvain was leaning to Evin’s side, but seemed pretty impassive overall. Rim was on Temple’s side, and just as passionate.

Lycen refused to budge. He reminded them that they agreed to pay him a large sum of money on top of anything else they could provide him with. Surely the girl’s food and other supplies would be covered by his pay. As for her safety, who would touch a Geno’s property? He managed to intimidate Rim and Evin, and Temple was obviously concerned about what would happen if he just left. Finding another one of the Geno would prove difficult. Eventually they agreed to let her come with, they really had no choiceMeanwhile Adeline sat on the ground in the rapidly diminishing daylight. She was mostly healed, but she was still dirty, wet, and cold. Also Livina had missed something in her prayers. Adeline was almost glad; she did not want the beautiful woman to know what had happened to her, it would be far too embarrassing.      Finally Lycen came for her, and led her wordlessly inside and, wordlessly, embraced her soundly.

Adeline held still as he peeled off her ruined dress. Not that there had been much to ruin in the first place. He wrinkled up his nose in disgust and without hardly a gesture, the thing burst into flame. Adeline backed up a few steps, but remained calm. She hated that dress, watching it turn to cinders was rather satisfying. The fire faded out without burning anything else, and the ashes drifted to the floor.

“Don’t worry,” Lycen said softly, “You can wear my clothes until we get to Ballard. Then you can go shopping for some new ones. Livana or Rim will be pleased to take you I’m sure. Right now, I bet you would like to get washed up.” He paused to look Adeline over once more. “You’re bleeding. Still.”

Adeline felt her face flush as red as her hair. “I-uh…”

Lycen hushed her and guided her to the bed. The sleeping pad was pushed up against the wall so it could double as a bench. As they sat Lycen asked, “When are you going to tell me what happened?” Adeline only stared hard at the floor, so he continued. “I know it was my fault, Adeline.” She looked up at him, wide-eyed. “I didn’t know, I should have, but…” he faltered, turning away from the whore, “I have trouble remembering that humans hate me that much. It has… been awhile since I has been around them.” His voiced trailed off pathetically.

Adeline looked at the element mage with pity. His shoulder sloped, his face was masked with pain, and he refused to look her in the face, so she pressed her hand to his shoulder to comfort him. He started at her touch, and then turned to look at her.

“That doesn’t make it your fault.”

He turned back away from her and cleared his throat, “Ah, well, I had better get you something to wear.” Adeline watched as the mage rummaged through his drawers of things, finally pulling out a short cream-colored tunic. Closer inspection revealed that it was thin and silky. “This should do for an undergarment for now. I mean, it resembles a slip, anyways. You can get better underwear in Ballard.”

The Geno’s dialect was confusing Adeline somewhat. She was not sure exactly what a slip was, and although she could guess what underwear meant, she had never heard the word before. There were more pressing questions besides. “Is Ballard where we’re headed to?”

“Yes,” Lycen called back from the other end of the wagon where he was looking for something else, “It is the next town on our way. Lady Livina has friends everywhere, it seems, so we hit every town in our path so she can appeal for help. It has gotten us some nice horses and some free supplies. Temple even got presented with new armor at Westbridge.” He approached her, soapy cloth in one hand and canteen in the other. “You might want to wash off before putting that on.”

“P-putting this on?” Adeline looked again at the silky tunic on the bed. She had not full registered what the mage had said earlier, and now she felt herself flush. That thing was made of silk. Real silk, as far as she knew; she had never heard of fake silk before. “But that’s… it’s…”

“Too big for me, I’d be glad to be rid of it,” Lycen finished, smoothly,” Unless you don’t like it?”

“N-no, I like it. I had better, umm, wash up first.” She took the cloth from him and started to scrub her self, immodestly. Lycen turned away politely. Adeline was a little befuddled by that. He had already seen her naked, was she that difficult to look at? Well, I’m not exactly easy on the eyes…

“Ah,” Lycen coughed, “Did you want me to look at your remaining injury?”

“Hmmm? Oh…” Adeline blushed only slightly, “Yes please, if you don’t mind.”

Lycen examined her closely and professionally. His skills as a healer, especially a healer of women, were limited but using a small magic probing he could tell at least how serious it was.

“Well?” Adeline asked, nervously. It had been along time since she had bleed so much after being penetrated. Granted she had been raped, but she hadn’t struggled much, there was no reason for it to be more serious than the rough sex she was already use to. Her voice shook. So much blood… was something wrong with her?

“Hmm… doesn’t look too bad to me. You can heal up fine on your own, I think. If you want I could do a quick healing, but it is likely to sting a lot. Or you could ask Livina to heal you.” Adeline blanched; no way was she going to tell the priestess she had been raped. What if the woman asked about the rest of her sexual history? “Or,” the mage continued, “ Temple could look at it for you. He is pretty handy with light wounds.” Adeline shook her head, she didn’t want the overbearing paladin looking at her intimates either, too scary.

“If it’s not too serious, I can let it heal naturally. But…” she hesitated, “Why did it bleed so much?”

“Hmm… ah… of course… Your, ah, hymen must have been restored when I ran that renewal spell on you. That was pretty powerful magic; a lot of the side effects were out of my control.”

Adeline’s mind boggled somewhat at this. She had heard that Priestesses of the greater moon could restore virginity of body to women if they first when through some mysterious ritual to restore ‘virginity of mind’ or some silly thing, but to have anything like that happen to her was unreal.

The tunic fit her perfectly and was possibly the most comfortable thing she had ever held against her skin.

Adeline had rushed back as quickly as she could. Luckily the bad sections of town were near the outer walls, but unluckily there were still lines of high class restaurants and inns lining the main road as it came in from the front gates. Adeline was not dressed for that neighborhood as she had to step through it quickly, lest she get waylaid by the city guard for “questioning.” She was not sure what to do with the silver. Her dress had no pockets and she had no purse. Not only that, she lacked shoes, socks, or even a brassier to slip the coins in for safekeeping. How was she supposed to hide them from Russell, the man who owned her debt? If he saw the money he would take it and she would never see it again. She needed new clothes, some extra food to eat, a new blanket, and any number of other things she would never get. She knew she wasn’t going to live long enough to fulfill her debt, so why bother?

She gripped the money tightly in her hand as she walked. Even before arriving at her destination she was aware of something wrong. People who had seen her leave with the Geno last night stopped to stare at her. She heard them whispering. It grew louder and louder. She tried to ignore it as she walked faster.

She was practically running as she entered the brothel. It was not very active at the morning hour, but Adeline still noticed the room go silent when she entered it. Maggie made a half noise somewhere between surprise and relief as she got up to rush over and check on the girl who was like a daughter to her. She stopped mid motion.

Russell was staring at Adeline like she was a ghost. His face turned red and white. Adeline stared at the ground. “I’m… umm… back.”

He looked terrified, “G- get out.”

     “What?”

“Get out! I don’t knew what that demon did to ya’, but you ain’t bring his curse back inta my brothel! Out!”

Adeline’s eyes widened. Instinctually she glanced at Maggie. The one armed woman’s mouth opened in protest, but then shut it again. Adeline lower her head again. No one could help her now. There wasn’t a single soul in the slums who didn’t know by now what had happened. She had come back from the dead. She turned and ran.

People had gathered outside and she fought to get through them. Adeline heard them mutter amongst themselves. Monster, undead, cursed, witch, damned thing. Some people cowered and backed off, but others were braver. One threw a rock at her. Other’s followed his lead. Mutters became yells and she was running for her life, arms raised in a desperate attempt to protect her face as she bolted blindly through the dirty streets. She kept running, terrified, until she tripped and fell sprawling on the ground. Somewhere along the line the road had went from dirt to stone. She looked behind her, panicked. The crowd was no longer chasing her, they were satisfied she was out of their turf. Unfortunately she now had another problem. She had ran towards the inside of the city, not the outside, now she was in richer territory than her station, an offense just as likely to get her killed.
