Class Of 98 - 3
I walk in to the house and up the stairs. Jackie is standing in the porch. "Hey, I guess we have not had a lot of time to talk today and you do look like you have something on your mind so lets go in to your room and talk."
"Ok." She says and turns and walks through the kitchen. The kitchen was recently painted in Champaign yellow, a small table stood in the center of the room. This table and I had gone through a lot. We enter the dining room and turn left in to what use to be my room. The room was painted in light shade of purple. The bed was pushed in to one corner; the desk sat across from it, a book bookcase sat in the corner behind the door and a dresser sat next to it.
I close the door and sit at the desk. "Well what do you want to talk about?"
"Amy, why did you move away? Was it me?" She asks looking down in to her hands.
I get up from the desk and sit next to her on the bed. "Jackie, I did not move away because of you. I did it because I did not want to be stuck here. Plus Sean wanted to live in England. So I followed my heart for the first time, I am sure when you meet a guy that you love you would do the same and when you get married I will be the first to congratulate you." I say taking her in to my arms and hugging her. "You can talk to me about anything, even boys that you are dating at the moment."
"Well there is this one guy I am interested in. He is in my math class he is the cutest guy in the whole college." She says.
"And, is he interested in you?" I ask.
"I think so. He is really nice. He asked me out." She says.
"What did you say?" I ask.
"I told him I would have to talk with my guardian." She says.
"And what happened details please?" I say.
"I went out with him. It was great." She says.
"I am glad for you Jackie." I say.
"I love you Amy." She sobs.
"I love you, not only as my cousin but as my sister. You are the sister I never had." I say. "Now I think it is time for bed." I say letting go, getting up and walking to the door.
"Thanks Amy." She says.
"Your welcome. Goodnight." I say.
"Goodnight." She replies. I walk out of the door and go down stairs through a small door off of her room.
"Hey. So, what was bothering her?" Sean asks while sitting in bed.
I grab my nightgown and walk in to the bathroom leaving the door slightly ajar. "She thought I left because of her."
"What did you tell her?" He asks.
I walk out of the bathroom. "That I followed my heart and that it lead me to you." I say getting in to bed after turning off the lights.
"Are you glad you did?" He asks then kisses me.
"Do I ever give you a reason to doute that?" I ask kissing him back. But deep in the back of my mind a problem hangs that could destroy our love forever.
