Room Service

A/N: Sorry! Been having writer\'s block, and then trying to work on Combustion. I\'ll update more regulary--I promise!

Chpt 4 Room Service

Naomi sighed as she snuggled into the silken sheets of her bed. The shower was still going—Aimi was going to turn into a prune in there. She didn\'t know what was going on with Yuriko—Aimi said that the girl had been hystReical over the phone, and that things were not turning out well. Apparently, Kazuhiro had pulled out entirely with no explanation—and no apology.

Poor Yuriko...she doesn\'t deserve such a jerk...

Naomi mentally berated the entire “dumber species” as she liked to call them as she thought of what this would mean for Aimi\'s friend. The loss of face for him would be minimal—Kyoto was not his town, and he was a male, after all. But Yuriko...

Naomi flipped over on her other side as irritation crept into her head. Just the nerve of that whoever-he-was! She had no idea who he was, but she did know he deserved a good cuss-out after the stunt he pulled. Even if he was fine to death. And looked positively edible...But he was a jerk for doing this to Yuriko, and if she was to believe Aimi, was also not entirely on the legit side of business—a definite “no-no” in her book...even if it was kind of hot...

“Room service.”

Naomi groaned as she listened to the knock at the door. It figures that Aimi would order room service and forget to tell her. Naomi grabbed her wallet from her bag, hoping that she had enough to tip the bellhop who was bringing whatever in the world her coworker liked. Naomi smiled to herself—they really were very much alike, kind of like long lost sisters...

“Chotto matte, ne?”

Grabbing what she hoped would be enough, Naomi opened the door wide to be completely shocked. Instead of food like she had figured, a large bouquet of fragrant flowers was thrust in her face.

“Oh! Um, chotto...”

She couldn\'t see around the flowers—the arrangement was so huge. Naomi began to sneeze convulsively as something sickeningly sweet assaulted her nose, causing her to gag and spin.

“...chotto...”

The room swam and dimmed, and Naomi could see the outlines of a chiseled face of hardened steel regarding her as she fell into the abyss.

He wanted to keep her.

At first, he really had no idea who the hell Kazuhiro was talking about when he told him to find out where the young gaijin was staying.

What gaijin? I don\'t remember a...

But of course he didn\'t remember her, because he never really saw her—not really. He had seen a woman in profile, holy light streaming in behind her, making her look like an earth-bound angel with long tendriled hair. She was standing beside another woman, a fierce warrior-one with burnished eyes and a shapely mouth.

But he had never seen her up close.

“...ahm..weneda...”

The girl was mumbling incoherently as he held her close on the service elevator leading up to the high-security penthouse that Kazuhiro had reserved after learning her whereabouts. Her skin was a smooth creamy brown—completely flawless earthen porcelain that tingled at his touch. He body was small, but firm...and warm, almost like poured cocoa in human form.

Kami, why did he have to see her first?

Sugar. She smelled of sugar and sweets. Jun wanted to taste the candy-coated skin before him, see if it really was a breathing confection of unearthly delight, play with the...

The ding of the elevator brought him out of his revReie and Jun turned the key counterclockwise to allow him access to the floor.

“On the bed.”

Jun merely grunted and placed the unconscious woman in the center of the bed he discerned she would become very familiar with before the end of the night.

“She will be unconscious for the next several hours. Do not wake her—the drugs must wear off themselves.”

It was Kazuhiro\'s turn to grunt as he fixed his piercing glare on the tiny woman curled into a ball in the middle of the custom made bed of the penthouse suite.

“Kazuhiro...”

Kazuhiro tore his gaze away from the sleeping bundle to meet a postively glacial stare from his oldest friend. He knew that look and he knew what it meant, because even he would not challenge it.

“Don\'t fuck this up.”
