Chapter 4: Escape & Emily's missing.
I woke up the next morning on a cold concrete floor with a major headache. I rubbed my eyes. 'Where am i ?' i thought looking up. I was in the dungeon, but this time i was on the other side of the bars then before. 'But why am i in here'? i thought to myself.
"Oh your awake" said the head vamp looking in at me.
"Why am i in here? what did i do wrong?" i asked him.
"You attacked a few people last night, including Jamie and your sister". he replyed
"I did not!" i shouted.
"Yes you did.. Cornelius your one of them now... your a werewolf" he answered.
"But i...i... are they alright!?" i asked nervously.
"Yes they are both recovering in the hospital corridor" he replyed.
"Ok good.. when can i go see them?" i asked
"You were bittin last night by a vamp also.. he was protecting a little kid you tried to kill" he said looking at me with a weird look.
"so im both?" i asked
"Yes.. you are" he replyed sighing.
"But i asked you a question.. when can i see them?" i asked again.
"I dont know cornelius.. your one of them now.. i dont want Emily around you" he said walking away from the cell.
"But...but! thats not fair!" i called after him.
I sat down in the corner. I started to cry. 'Why me? i dont understand!' i thought to myself. I rubbed my head. I stood up and walked over to the bars and gripped them with my hands.
"Please let me out... im sorry.. i didn't mean anything!" i called out begging.
I looked at myself on the metal of the cell. I opened my mouth. 'Wow those look sharp' i thought to myself looking at my new fangs. I sat back down in the corner. 'I wonder if Jamie will still like me for who i am now' i started to think. I fell asleep.
"Psst.. Cornelius!" came a voice. I woke up and rubbed my eyes and looked. It was Jamie and Emily.
"We snuck through the vamps and got the keys!" Jamie said smiling. She pulled the keys out of her pocket and unlocked the door with them.
"Good.. now your free again" She said.
"But.. you do know what i am right?" i asked her.
"Yes.. but that doesn't change WHO you are". she said with a smile on her face. I hugged her.
"Now come on, lets get out of here!" she said taking my hand with her spare one, since her other one was holding Emilys. We ran through hallways and finally back to the stairs. We ran up them and then the direction of our rooms. We ran into mine and closed and locked the door.
"We are safe for now" said Jamie.
"What did i do last night that was so bad?" i asked sitting on the bed.
"You killed someone cornelius.. and you tried to kill us too.. and also a little kid" she said with a weird look on her face.
"But i didn't mean to" I said sighing.
"i know cornelius, I know" she replyed hugging me.
"What will happen if they notice that im gone? they will search the castle for me" i said looking scared.
"Thats why we have to run away, far from here" Jamie said.
"Pack up what you need to take and ill take Emily and we will both do the same, but just dont be seen" said Jamie leaving the room with Emily.
I grabbed a bag from under my bed and started to fill it with things that i needed. When i bent down to pick up my shirt i noticed that my arm was fully healed. I was confused but never really thought about it. I picked up the last bit of stuff and stuffed it all into the bag. Emily and Jamie came back into the room with their bags on.
"Ready to go?" asked Emily smiling.
"Yes.. i am" i replyed smiling back.
Emily and Jamie had put pillows in the shape of a human under their blankets to save some time. We left my room and started for the front doors.
"Take cover!" I yelled diving behind a statue. They did too. A few vamps walked by talking about me being missing. 'Oh crap, they know' i thought to myself. When they had passed we continued for the front doors. When we finally got to about 5 feet from the doors, 3 vamps jumped out of nowhere.
"Where are you three off to?" asked the more taller one.
"Uhh.. we were just going to go for a walk" I answered.
"YOU are not going anywhere, hairy boy" said the more chubby one. They all started laughing evilly.
"Run!" I said as we all ran for the doors. I was tackled to the floor.
"Get off me!" i yelled, struggling.
"No, back to the dungeon for you" said the older one as he grabbed me by the shoulders and picked me up. I started punching him.
"Let go of me!" I screamed.
"Let go of him!" Said Jamie and Emily at the same time.
"No, hes going back to the dungeon.. Deon please take him" said the older one to the taller one. He took me back to the dungeon and threw me in and i hit the wall. I got up and ran for the door but he closed it and locked it before i could. I punched it hard. 'I hate it here'! i thought to myself and sat down.
"Your little girlfriend and sister are going to be punished too" said Deon snickering as he left the cell.
"Dont you lay one finger on them!" I called after him. I was really angry by this point. I stood back up and kicked the wall hard. About 10 minutes later Jamie was carried down by the older one and thrown into the cell with me.
"Jamie are u alright?" i asked her as she sat down against the wall. I sat down beside her.
"Yes.. but Cornelius, Emily's been taken somewhere.. i couln't stop them!" she said crying into me.
"We will get out of here, and find her" I said glaring at one of the guards.
After a few hours Jamie was sleeping with her head on my shoulder. I woke her up and told her my plan i was thinking up for two hours.
"Sounds good" she said looking at me.
I stood up and looked out the window. 'The moon is coming out' i thought to myself. I started to feel weird and i fell to the floor. Hair started to grow all over my body. I was turning again. They noticed me turning so they got Jamie out of my cell and put her into the one beside me, which was empty. I was relieved for that. I was now a werewolf. I punched and thrashed all over the cell. One of the vamps shot me with a tranq gun and i fell asleep. He came into the cell to make sure i was okay, i awoke and kicked him into the wall and closed the door on him. I smiled and then let Jamie out of her cell. She got onto my back and i ran and ran, i even ran through the doors. We ran through the woods and mountains. I finally callasped. The sun was coming out so i was turning human again. When i was back in human form i opened my eyes and looked up at Jamie.
"We did it" she said smiling.
"Yeah, we did" i said getting up. "I guess i can control myself in wolf form" i added.
We continued walking for hours.
"Where did u say they brought Emily?" i asked.
"I don't know, but all i know it was away from the castle" she answered.
We kept walking and finally ended up in a little village. The people looked like vampire slayers. I put my hood on and hid my face. We walked into a resturant and sat down at a table.
"What do you want to eat?" asked Jamie.
"Where did you get the money from?" i asked
"Stole it off the head v... my dad" she said smiling. I knew what she meant.
After we ate we left the village and continued walking. I was starting to feel weak and hungry... not for food but for blood. We found a cave and we sat in it.
"I feel hungry" i said holding my stomache.
"We just ate" Jamie replyed.
"Not for food.. for blood" i answered.
"Well lets rest up here for the day, and set out again at night" she suggested.
"Ok sounds good" i replyed laying my head on a rock.
