Chapter Two - Propositions
“You’re bi, right?” J.D. asked as soon as they left the class, leaving Myra behind to serve her detention for Nick’s misbehaviour (well, mostly. He hadn’t asked for her to hit him, after all…). Nick blinked at the sudden question - he hadn’t expected it, and it was such a personal one. He flushed slightly.
“Uhm… ah… I’m not really… that is to say… I haven’t really… I mean, I’m not experienced enough to… say….” The brunette stumbled. J.D. frowned slightly, trying to understand what the other male was saying. Then it clicked.
“Oh! You’re a virgin! Right!” J.D. said whilst nodding enthusiastically. This made sense, actually. Nick was kind of private when it came to his personal life, but if he’d had any experience then he’d surely have given some reference of it at some point.
“Please, say it louder, J.D. I don’t think quite everyone in the school heard…” Nick said as his cheeks flushed a bright red at the several stares directed his way by those close enough to have heard. J.D. gave him an odd look before opening his mouth to do as requested. Fortunately, Nick’s hand clamped over the full lips before he could. “I was being sarcastic, J.D. I don’t want everyone to know…” he muttered before removing his hand, rolling his eyes slightly.
“Oh…” J.D. murmured and nodded after peeling the other’s hand away. “Yeah, I get it… so you’ve never slept with a guy or a girl?” he asked and raised an eyebrow, speaking more quietly, this time. Nick sighed, resigning himself to the fact that they were going to have this conversation.
“Yes, J.D. That means that I’ve never slept with a guy or a girl…” Nick said slowly, as if talking to a small child. J.D.’s mouth twitched upwards and Nick watched him suspiciously for a moment. “So I’ll probably assume I’m bi until I have had the physical experience to… well, know…” he murmured and ran a hand through his tidy brown hair. J.D. grinned openly.
“Would you like to find out if you like guys?” The older male asked with a suggestively raised eyebrow. Nick had to stop in the middle of the hall as he realised the implications behind this… and that they were heading for the bathroom.
“What, with you? No, I mean… um, no… I guess… J.D., you sleep with everyone and we’re friends… it would just be weird…” Nick said in an uncomfortable manner. J.D. shrugged.
“Your loss…” he murmured. Well, selling his imagination for sex was out, then. What a pity.
