Chapter 4

Chapter 4
“Yeah mom, I know.” Robin had finally called her mother, Lizzy, back after getting hundreds of messages from her. She had not had the time to talk lately, with studying and finding time to spend with Marcus her parents were just forgotten and that didn’t sit well with her mother. After one sec on the phone with Lizzy she knew that this would not be a pleasant call.
“You need to be more responsible with your time Robin. It took you two weeks to call me back. I was so close to coming up there and seeing what has you occupied so much that you can’t take a minute to cal your own mother. I rai…,” and the conversation went on like that. Robin knew very well that her mother would have been pissed to pieces if she came here and saw that a boy was taking up her time. Lizzy believed that no one boy was worth all your time. She encouraged Robin to see different people because she was still so young.
After a two hour conversation with her mother Robin was exhausted. All she wanted to do was lay down and sleep for days, but she’d promised Marcus that they could hang out tonight since her exam had taken up her time for the pass three nights. Being with Marcus and being an art major was hard as hell. She was trying to balance everything, but then her family life was left out. Robin was so close to just yelling, she didn’t know what to do. She loved art and she loved spending time with Marcus and she really loved her parents, but all three of those things were killing her. All she really needed was a day or so to her self without anyone or anything.
Robin was just about to leave her room when someone knocked. When she went to answer it, it swung open almost knocking her down.
*******
“Look man she doesn’t fit in with us. You’re Marcus and she’s …. Well she’s an it.” Marcus had been listening to Jason talk for a good 20 minutes. He didn’t understand why Jason thought he had a say in who Marcus could hang out with. He had always hated the fact that people just assumed he wanted to be in the popular club. All his life he had been looked to as the big man on campus, the one everyone wanted to be. Maybe it was because of his looks or because of his families money, but he was about damn tired of the label. That’s what he liked about Robin; she didn’t care about other people’s opinion. She was always just herself.
“Why don’t you like her man? You don’t even now her.”
“I don’t want to know her. The only reason you know her is because of that fine chick she always with, Marty. Now she is who you should be with.”
Jason would never learn, he was so suck on trying to be popular that he did not consider the fact that all the people that look up to him are the same people that would not make it here for long.
“Whatever. Look you’re my friend and she is my friend, but ya’ll don’t have to be friends. Just don’t say anything else about it. Oh and don’t wait up, bye.” Marcus had better things to do other then sit here and be stupid with Jason and his moron friends besides Robin was probably wondering why he was late.
