Chapter Four

David couldn\'t believe he had been that stupid. Kissing Rae like that had been one of the most dangerous and most arousing things he had ever done. He had wanted and waited to do that since she had been a child, and the fact that he had just done it had given him the biggest hard-on that he had ever had in his life. He needed to do something about it, to get rid of the tension and the thoughts of Rae that were currently plaguing his mind. Just remembering that Rae was in the shower naked and wet was enough to make him want to blow his load in his swim shorts right there.

He needed a shower, needed to wash the chlorine off of his skin before it dried it up and needed to jerk off. Unfortunately for him, however, the only bathroom with a shower was the one that Rae was currently using. He entered his bedroom, shut the door, fell onto the huge bed and freed his penis from it\'s fabric prison.

Stroking his dick from balls to tip, he allowed himself to succumb to the relief he was so accustomed to giving himself. He focused an image of Rae beckoning to him from the shower, inviting him to touch her as he had longed to do for so long, entering her and Rae begging him to give her release. David had almost reached his climax when he heard a shocked gasp coming from the bathroom door. Startled, he opened his eyes and focused on Rae, who stood in the doorway, wrapped in a fluffy white towel and dripping wet from the shower. He couldn\'t bring himself to let go of his dick, though, and he spurted cum onto the sheets as he came in front of her.

David was too sexually sated for the scene before him to register completely, but Rae was mortified enough for both of them. \"I-I-I\'m so sorry, I, uh, couldn\'t remember which, um, door lead out the the hall so I, uh, guessed and I, well, I guess I picked wrong. I-I don\'t know what to say, um, so I guess... yeah, I\'m gonna go now,\" she stammered and backed into the bathroom, shutting the door and collapsing on the toilet in shock.

With the close of the door, David suddenly came back to his senses, regained all the composure he was capable of, pulled on a pair of jeans from a chair and knocked on the bathroom door. He was still trying to decide on what exactly to say to her when he heard a muffled \"come in\" and pushed open the door.

Rae\'s face was streaked with tears and she started sobbing freely as she saw him standing in the doorway. David did the first thing that came to him which was to run to her and wrap her in his embrace. She resisted at first but finally went limp in his arms and cried on his shoulder.

\"Oh, God, baby, I had no idea that you would see that, I\'m so sorry. Jesus, I\'ve been an idiot, I\'m so sorry. Please forgive me?\" he murmured, trying to console her. Rae sobbed harder. David pulled away from her and held her face in his hands. He retrieved a tissue and began drying her face with short dabs, murmuring nonsense and she gradually calmed down once more.

When Rae had stopped crying he stepped back and sat on the floor in front of her. \"Will you let me explain?\" he asked. She nodded and he continued. \"I\'m not sorry for kissing you before,\" he began, watching her closely. \"You aren\'t a child anymore and I\'m realizing it more and more. I\'ve watched you grow from an awkward child to the confident woman that you are now and that woman is amazingly attractive. And I wouldn\'t be honest if I were to tell you that I wasn\'t also attracted to you.\" Rae started to interrupt him, but David cut her off. \"No, listen. I want you to know how I really feel about you.\" She nodded again. \"Good. I admit that my intentions when I invited you to come with us weren\'t as pure of heart as they should have been, but I still only want what\'s best for you, but that doesn\'t change the fact that I\'ve been in love with you since you started making your own decisions and I\'ve been waiting for the right time to tell you all this.\"

Rae was flabbergasted. She had no idea that his feelings for her were so deep, although she had suspected they might be. The look on David\'s face, one of desperation, compelled her to respond to all that he had said, although she didn\'t really know how to. What came out was, \"I, uh, well...\"

\"Look, I don\'t expect you to reciprocate my feelings. Hell, I don\'t even expect you to be okay with them, and if you don\'t feel comfortable staying here for the rest of the three weeks, I\'ll be more than willing to get you a plane ticket back home.\" Rae tried to interrupt him but he continued, \"That\'s not what I want, though. I would love it if you would stay I still love spending time with you. I...\" he trailed off.

\"What-what about your wife? What about your family?\" she asked, her voice rising with every word.

\"Well, as far as my marriage goes, it\'s been on the rocks for a long time now. Ever since I started working so far away from home I\'ve been seeing less and less of Cheryl and really she\'s not the same person I married all those years ago. One morning I woke up next to her and could barely recognize her as the fun-loving and beautiful woman I had fell in love with all those years before, and then you and I started getting closer and you began speaking to me as you might a close friend, rather than the mentor that I\'ve always been to you, and then my feelings for you started taking a hold on me. As far as the rest of the family goes, I have no idea. I haven\'t thought things through that far. I was waiting to gauge your reaction to this all first.\"

Rae took in a deep breath and started to digest everything that she had heard in the past 5 minutes and everything that it could imply. David had that look of desperation on his face again, but there was nothing she could do for him now, she had to think things through and figure out what she felt about the situation before she could focus on his needs and wants.

David watched the inner war play across her face and ached to take her in his arms and rock away all of her fears like he had done when she was a child. He realized that this was impossible and that she was beyond his help. This time, though, she was suffering from problems he had caused, and it hurt to realize it. His eyes followed her as she stood and excused herself from the bathroom, telling him that she had to think things over, watched her as she stepped out of the bathroom and disappeared from his vision when she walked down the hall. He heard the door slam and pounded his head against the wall he was leaning against, chastising himself inwardly for being such an idiot about the whole situation. He shouldn\'t have tried anything in the first place, is what he should have done, but hindsight was always twenty-twenty.

Snatching a shirt and sandals from the floor of his bedroom, he wrote Rae a note to order some pizza for herself and that he would be back late, grabbed his car keys and headed to his car, peeling out of the driveway like a bat out of hell. He was headed for the closest bar, and was looking forward to drowning his problems in a never-ending glass of scotch.
