Chapter 36
Chapter 36: Emerald Sword:
Tokuro charged up the tail of the dead black scaled dragon and up the corpse's back to clash his sword against the trident of the last remaining Guardian. His black booted foot kicked into the stomach of the tapered eared, blond Guardian. That broke their hold as he slashed upwards and across the torso. His blade cut through green armor; but it had not even mortally wounded his guardian. Tokuro smiled enjoying his fight very much. It was pity that Koba had taken many of these Guardians out before his arrival. Even now the mortal was pushing his way through the Caves of Venon, towards it's heart. He wondered what powerful warriors awaited there.
Tokuro's blade howled for blood. He heard the cries of hunger fill his ears. Tokuro's blade found the weakness and the blade gleamed red as the head of the Guardian fell from his shoulders as the guardian's trident stabbed into him. Tokuro pulled the trident from out of his torso and tossed it to the ground.

He walked through the corpses of dead guardians. It was easy to find the path that Koba had taken. He had left a trail of corpses for his master to follow. Tokuro scowled; envious of the challenging battle that they must have offered his subordinate.
He walked for an hour before he had reached the barely breathing Koba and the dead Guardian. In a field of ice it rested. Tokuro had never seen such a soul emenating from a sword. It was no doubt a powerful sword, but so long as he had Zigyaku he could use no other weapon. He looked to Koba with disdain that the mortal had been so mortally wounded. It would slow them down; having to wait for him to heal. For only a few minutes he contemplated killing Koba; but then decided against it.
Tokura's hand touched the ice, and it melted to his touch. A great fire erupted with an expolsion within the ice. The sword forged from many emeralds rested in the center of the flames after it had fallen over from the expolsion.
The demon blooded male told Koba, "That sword is your reward, Koba. Once you have healed you will take it, will you not?"
Koba gasped, "Yes."
