Chapter Thirty-three.

After hearing the truth about his brother Caelane, and the real reason why his dad had left him and his father, Jamie dragged himself back to his chamber before the king of Aria and his dad could notice his presence. He entered his chamber and a gasp escaped from the back of his throat. There standing near his window was the man named Douglas. The man who had tried to rape him on his wedding night. The man was missing one eye and also his left ear. Sebastian must have had something to do with how the man looked right now, Jamie thought before he panicked.

“What are you doing?” Jamie shouted, his voice filled with panic when he saw the man pick Ana up. “Please put my baby down. I'll do anything you say, just don't hurt him!” he pleaded.

“You know I couldn't forget your oval face, long eyelashes and clear, white skin. Your vivid blue eyes they kept haunting me to no end boy. Your pretty face and your slender body would show up in my mind every time I closed my eyes. I knew that I had to once more risk my life to have you. When I saw you here in my father’s castle, I knew that God had heard my prayers,” said Douglas.

Jamie had no idea that this horrible man was Anders son, but there was no time to wonder about small things like that. His son’s life came first before anything else. “How did you get in here?” Jamie asked as his eyes frantically searched the room for anything to use as a weapon. He had to do something before the man hurt his baby.

“Through the window,” replied Douglas.

“You mean to tell me that you climbed up here? Two stories high?” Jamie asked, astonished by what he just heard. The man was crazier than he thought.

“I came down from the roof.” Douglas corrected Jamie.

“So you have been hiding up there since last night?”

“Yes,” replied Douglas. Then he walked over to the window and blew a whistle. A younger man with white wings came flying up toward the window. Douglas handed the little baby in his arms to the young man.

“No! Give me back my baby!” Jamie cried out when he saw Douglas gave his baby away. He ran toward the two men but he was too late as the young man flew away with his baby. Douglas grabbed him by the waist and carried him to his bed as he cried. The man pinned him down and stared down at him.

“If you don't want anything to happen to the other baby, I suggest that you be a good boy and let me have you.”

Jamie shut his eyes and rolled his head to the side with tears sliding down his cheek. If he put up a fight, little Jeff would be in danger. His baby’s life was much more important than himself. Sebastian was with Anders in the throne room discussing what to do with his dad, and the king of Aria was still in the dungeon talking with Arian. Nicholas had left the castle that morning, so there was no one to save him. He was thankful that Caelane had taken Fey with him that morning. Just as Douglas started tearing at his clothes, Caelane opened the door and came walking in with little Fey asleep in his arms. He stopped and screamed out loud when he saw the scene before him.

“Damn you, how dare you interrupt me!” Douglas yelled out as he pulled away from Jamie and went rushing over to Caelane with his sword in his hand.

“Help! Help!” Caelane continued to scream out. Just as Douglas reached Caelane, Jeffery came from behind and pulled Caelane to the side. Jeffery sword’s went through Douglas’ stomach. Douglas crumbled to the floor and received a powerful kick from Jeffery’s right foot.

“What the hell is going on?" Sebastian howled as he and Anders came running toward Jeffery. He and Anders had just decided on what to do with Arian when they heard Caelane’s cry for help travel all the way to the throne room.

“This bastard tried to rape your consort again Sebastian,” Jeffery explained. “He would have been successful too if it wasn't for Caelane.”

“You bastard!” The person who said this was Anders. They were all stunned when Anders raised his foot and kicked Douglas’ ribs so hard that they all could hear the bone cracking. “I did not raise my son to be a rapist!” Anders spat out at the son he had fathered with his late consort.

“I am going to kill him Anders and you can't stop me. It is my right to kill your bastard son!” Sebastian said his voice filled with anger.

“Wait Sebastian! You can't kill him yet. He has to tell us where our son is!” Jamie said between crying. He had been crying and embracing his son Jeff in his arms relieved that he and the baby were safe. “He gave our son to a white winged Zhanthia who flew away with our little Ana.” Jamie burst into tears, crying for little Ana who was taken away from him.

Sebastian face became red with rage upon hearing this. He held the half dead man up by the throat and demanded that he tell him where his son was, but all he got was a laugh.

Douglas stared down at Sebastian. “You will never find him,” he managed to say right before he died.

Sebastian let go of the dead bastard and walked over to Jamie’s side. He wrapped his arms around Jamie who sat crying while embracing their baby Jeff. “We will find Ana Jamie, that I promise you, no matter how long it takes I will find him for you,” he vowed softly to his weeping consort.

----
"Anders I want your word that you are not going to kill the king of Aria!" Caelane demanded after they left Jamie and Sebastian alone. They stood outside Jamie’s chamber and the king of Aria had just left to go in search of Nicholas.

“Why would I do that? My son got what he deserved,” Anders said in a cold voice, but Caelane didn't miss the sad look in his eyes.

“You loved your son didn't you Anders? No matter how bad he was?”

“To be honest with you, I don't know if I really loved him as a son,” Anders answered. “Caelane, I'm not a good father. I never really gave a damn about him ever since he was born. He did many things to get my attention, he even went as far as to dive into the spring of growth so that he could hurry up and help me exact my revenge, but I still ignored him. He became this way because of me.”

“Nothing good ever comes from revenge. That's what Jamie says to the king of Zhanthia,” said Caelane. “I think that it applies to you also Anders. I don't know why you hate the king of Zhanthia and why he hates you, but I know one thing is for sure. Jamie was right when he told me that you two do love each other as brothers no matter how much you claim to hate each other. Why else would you two have dragged this revenge out for so long, when you could have just killed each other back then?” With that said, Caelane walked away. Anders stared after the boy.

--------
Nicholas returned to the castle to find Jeffery waiting for him in the courtyard. He slid off his horse and walked over to Jeffery. “Why are you out here? Shouldn't you be down in the dungeon with Arian?” Nicholas commented.

“I want to talk to you,” said Jeffery.

Nicholas sighed, “What is it Jeff?”

“I thought that I should let you know that I have to break our engagement once more.”

“I'm not surprised Jeffery. Our engagement was nothing than a whim that you and the king agreed on. I never agreed to marry you in the first place. Did you really think that I would want to be married to the same man who left me at the alter twenty years ago? I must say that this is the best decision you ever made Jeffery. It saved me the trouble of going directly to my king and asking him to break the engagement on my behalf,” Nicholas said calmly.

“I'm sorry Nicholas, but right now Arian needs me, I want to make his wish come true before he...” Jeffery didn't get to finish explaining. Nicholas cut him off.

“Whatever Jeff. I don't give a damn about your reason since I don't care. Just make sure to keep that Arian away from other men if you get what I mean,” he said in a mocking tone. Then he walked away. He decided to go see how Jamie and his babies were doing. He knocked once and entered the room to see a very sad Jamie looking up at him. “Jamie what’s wrong?” he asked as he rushed over to the boy’s side.

Jamie leaned his head on Nicholas’ shoulder and told him everything that happened while he was away. “Today is the worst day ever in my entire life Nicholas. My second son got taken away from me right before my eyes."

“I'm, so sorry Jamie, if it will make you feel better, I promise to find our little lost prince and return him to you, even if it takes the rest of my life.”

Jamie looked up at Nicholas and gave him a weak smile. “You are very kind Nicholas, but Sebastian already promised me that he would do the same for me. Besides, I can't let you do such a thing Nicholas. After all, you have your own life to live. There must be a man out there who you want to be married to Nicholas.”

“There is, but he has someone else already in his heart, and I don't want to marry anyone else if the groom isn't him,” Nicholas said in a sad voice.

“Oh Nicholas I'm so sorry to hear that. Whoever that man is, he is stupid for not wanting to marry a wonderful man like you. If my father was still alive, I would play match maker between you two,” Jamie said without much thought. “Nicholas, come to think of it, I think that you would have been a much better husband for my father than my dad was. It’s too bad that you two couldn't have met each other.”

"What are you two talking about?” Sebastian interrupted them when he walked in with little Jeff asleep in his arms.

“I was just telling Nicholas that he would have made a better husband for my father than my dad,” Jamie answered as he walked over to the king and took little Jeff into his arms.

Sebastian looked at Nicholas with a grin on his face. “Looks like Jamie approves of you Nicholas. Isn't that a wonderful thing?” Sebastian commented.

Nicholas glared at his king. He got up and excused himself from the room. He bid Jamie good night and left.

“Sebastian, did you find out anything about who that white Zhanthia was that took our child?” Jamie asked after Nicholas left them alone.

“No I haven't, but tomorrow I will. I give you my word Jamie.”

“I believe you, Your Highness,” Jamie said with a small smile that seemed forced to Sebastian.

As it turned out, Sebastian did find the white Zhanthia the next day, but he was too late. The white Zhanthia who took his child was killed by a group of powerful robbers, and his baby was still missing. The people who found the white Zhanthia’s body said that they did not see a baby with the white Zhanthia when he was killed by the robbers.

Jamie was devastated. “Our baby! Oh God Sebastian where can our baby be?” he cried out loud. "We aren't ever going to get to see him again, are we Sebastian?" he cried.

“I won't give up on finding him Jamie, and neither should you. He is our child. Sooner or later he will return to us, and I will make sure of it Jamie.”

Jamie just nodded his head and cried. He prayed that nothing bad had happened to his son. He hoped with all his heart that his son was still alive. His little Ana with his soft black hair and adorable big blue eyes. “Please God let him returned to me,” he prayed silently.
