Chapter 30
What a day. After hearing someone's place being blown up, and being more or less rejected by the man he loved, what happens next? Some prissy, blond dick lectures him in their own living-room, taking away any illusion of safety. As if five worried people - six, including the blond - wasn't enough, he had to go make Julian and Kiyoshi afraid too. Great going!
So he had left to keep watch, not being able to sit in that room for a minute longer. It didn't take long till Kyun came out after him, insisting that he came back inside. Why? Because that blond bastard had somewhere better they could stay. So why the fuck couldn't he have said that in the first place? What the hell was wrong with him? Keeping his anger down had been so hard that Luo wasn't able to show much appreciation.
Perhaps most of all, Luo was pissed off that the guy could provide them with safety, when he himself was unable to. Plus, when he came back inside, the decision to leave had already been made without him. So much for having responsibility.
And then they packed the bags, backpacks and suitcases they had. Took about half an hour. Then packed into the two cars and were on their way. Except him, of course. Had to bring his bike; no telling what could happen to it otherwise. Not feeling in a mood to be lonely, he had asked Kyun to come along with him, but the guy had decided he'd rather drive with Julian. Bastard...
When they got there, they met an annoyingly bubbly happy blond, with curls at that. If a cheerful approach was ever misplaced, how about when receiving some people running from their homes out of fear for being blown up? Luo had swallowed his pride as much as he could, thanking the guy for his help and whatnot. The reward? More bubbly happiness, of course. The man was nothing short of overjoyed.
On the way over, the jolly fellow - Bradley, apparently - had explained about the apartment. Three bedrooms, living-room, kitchen, bathroom. Larger than what they had before, so that was great. But nothing was probably up to him about this, which was real bad; not because he wanted to make decisions, but because he didn't want his friends to see him in this situation. Parts of him wanted to jump off a bridge.
It turned out one bedroom would be larger than the others. Fair enough. He expected the blond prick to go for that one, and wouldn't want to share with him. Whatever room arrangement was fine, really - he wouldn't have enough of a say to dare taking part in the split; being turned down was worse than not making the call in the first place.
Once inside, the happy camper left them to their own devices. Luo felt greatly out of place when he stepped into the bright, orderly apartment. He couldn't remember ever staying in a place like that before, and certainly not with some blond guy he hardly knew thinking he could say whatever he wanted. The spiky-haired Korean frowned, not wanting to start anything. They'd be getting on each other's nerves soon enough anyway.

It was starting to sink in. Not just the danger they were in, but finally having nothing urgent left to think about, Leandor was starting to realise how close he came to being blown to bits. The idea that he could have been in the great beyond somewhere as confetti was a little more than nerve-wracking. So why the hell wasn't Zach there to greet them? The living dolls would have fussed over him day and night after something like that, so who the hell did that guy think he was to just not show up?
Finding the first soft seat to fall into, Leandor took a long look around the room in the hopes of distracting his thoughts, and then he studied the others. Three bedrooms and how many of them? Practically a dozen! Okay, not quite a dozen, but close. For a minute he wondered why there was tension in there, but quickly figured it would be really weird if there weren't. So he located the remote and turned on the television. Wasn't in the mood to socialize.
The cute seme – Kiyoshi? - had already disappeared. Probably to claim a room. Good, let them get the best room. As far as he could tell, Nele and his cute friend would probably enjoy a good big room to themselves. He sighed and watched the mediocre man take a seat. Didn't remember the guy's name if anyone had ever said it. Probably for the best. Didn't intend to remember those people very long after he was finished with what was happening.
He completely ignored the cute creep, Takuya, and turned his attention over to the other four. Nele hadn't joined his top, and instead was staring out a window, while the purple-haired cutie and the Korean who appeared to be super-glued to the little guy found seats as well. Leandor watched them for a moment before smiling politely at Luo. “I don't know about you, but I'm not much in the mood for cooking. Shall we order in?”
While not having looked the slightest bit content about the situation, Luo's voice was calm when he answered. "We could," he shrugged, "I'm not sticking around for long anyway. Shall we split the rooms so I can leave my stuff before I go?"
“Split the rooms? Well, I assume drawing names out of a hat won't do, so I suppose everyone should simply room with whoever they're more comfortable with?” He shrugged, glancing back over at the TV screen. He tried to be interested in the dividing into three rooms, but he was failing at faking it. “It doesn't matter to me. You people do what you think is best.”
The creepy Japanese walked into his line of sight, reaching out for his hair again. He smacked it away, but that didn't stop the guy from flashing a broad smile. "You're staying with me, handsome... I'll go pick us a room!"
Staring at the guy, he scowled indignantly. What the hell had he done to get the weirdo on his case? Leandor figured Takuya was just doing it to get on his nerves, but it was working anyway. “If I am forced to share a room with you, you'll be sleeping on the floor.”
"Sure, sure, you keep telling yourself that." Takuya chuckled, then treated him to an intent glance. "First door is ours, cutie."
Kiyoshi was back too, wrapping an arm around Nele and resting his head on the other's shoulder. "We'll take the middle room, okay?"
The rooms were apparently getting split out rather quickly, and Lee saw the supposed smartass and the glued Korean watch each other for a bit - some weird body language communication, in all likelihood. The mediocre guy smiled sheepishly after a bit of that. "I'm staying on the couch. Three's enough in the big room."
The purple-haired one spoke up. “The rooms are big enough, aren't they?” His voice was quiet and a bit shaky, probably still getting over the shock of all that's happened. He looked over at the guy attached to him. “We'll share a room this time? Luo's going to be with us, right?”
With a kiss on the guy's cheek, the Korean smiled happily. "Yeah, certainly looks like it. Wanna go take a look?"
With a weak but sincere smile in Luo's direction, the purple-haired guy got up. He got a hold of his Korean's hand and slowly led the way to the room, nervously whispering things along the way.
Leandor quirked a brow after them. If that cutie wasn't already taken, he'd have tried to nab him first. Too bad all the good ones were claimed and the only ones left were creeps like Takuya. He sighed and looked over at his love-struck pet firecracker, even he was out of grasp, not that they'd have ever hooked up in a million years. With a glance at the mediocre man, he inquired, “Why don't you take a room with Takuya?”
"What?" The yellow-haired fellow started in a faked dramatic tone, "a room with Choi? Not gonna happen!" He chuckled a bit, then started moving closer. "I'll be gentle... I'll even get on my back for you, so you can lower yourself onto me. Doesn't get much more gentle than that."
Shuddering, Leandor got to his feet and walked to find another empty seat away from that creep. “Honestly, your offers are positively tempting. I really must harness all of my self-control to resist taking you up on that generosity.” Even though it was such a blatant lie, he tried to keep the sarcasm out of his voice. “Unfortunately, since I am not a single man, I must decline. Now please, cut the act.”
Nele looked over at the scene. His attention had been divided between the outside and the cute Kiyoshi, but he spared a little to flash a devious smile. “You filthy liar, Lea. If you were in a relationship, you'd have bragged about getting a leash around some doll's neck by now. Hey, if you need some lube tonight, Takuya, I've got plenty to spare.”
“You dreadful runt.” Leandor scoffed, almost tempted to start bragging. “Poke fun at me all you want, but do it from a distance.”
Having dropped off his bags in the largest room and changed into a biker outfit, Luo reappeared and was headed for the door. The guy seemed somewhat moody, judging by the frown and the scowl addressed at noone in particular. "Bye, guys." He said as he started putting his boots back on.
“Where the fuck do you think you're going, asswipe?” Nele's charming language rang out loud and clear. Who would have thought such a potty-mouth could articulate so well? “Running off like a pussy again? In case you hadn't noticed, your fucking friends would probably like your support right now, so smarten the fuck up.”
Running away when needed sounded like a brilliant idea! Why couldn't that guy have taken him with him? Lee would have enjoyed another car trip to get his mind off things, but figured the guy probably wanted to be alone anyway. Glancing at the nearest phone, he wondered whether or not he should bother trying to disturb Zach.
Before any move could be made to do so, the purple-haired guy rushed out of the room. Didn't look quite as shaken up as a few minutes ago, but still not entirely steady. He came out to hop onto the couch, and looked around at the people present. “I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse! Let's order Italian!”
When his shoes were on, Luo treated the little firecracker to a condescending smirk, but his eyes showed plenty annoyance. A few seconds later, he had left the apartment, slamming the door behind him.
