Trust Us

AN: This was the last chapter I had put up before my story was deleted, I haven't started the next one because I am running low on ideas because i haven't don't this story in a loooong time and have forgotten mostly of where I was going with it. So ideas are welcome ^_^

CHAPTER THREE.

Hayley sat on the lounge between the dog and wolf with the cat’s head on her shoulder as it lay on the back of the lounge, with her right hand she stoked the cat’s head and smiled while flicking channels on the T.V. Hayley was quite content even if she was back in the house she hadn’t set foot in so many years, Hayley yawned a little and kissed the cat’s sleeping cheek as he’s head slept on her shoulder and smiled at the German shepherd form next to her, she looked at the wolf and noticed him watching the T.V. ‘That’s kind of cute’ she thought before moving to get up, she softly removed the cats head from her shoulder and noticed that the wolf snapped his attention to her.

“I’m just going to have a shower then go to bed, no need to get all huffy” she said before noticing the cats ears perk up and looked at her. ‘How adorable’ she thought before kneeling on the lounge and kissed the top of the cats head. “Good night kitty, I’ll think of a name for you three in the morning when I can think properly” she added before moving over to the German shepherd and kiss his head as well, Hayley watched as the dog placed his paw over his nose and chuckled at how it looked a lot like a person trying to hide their embarrassment, Hayley looked over at the wolf and laughed softly at the death glare she was receiving from it’s eyes like it was daring her to kiss his head.

She headed to the bathroom that was attached to the main bedroom and gathered everything she needed for her shower. The bathroom was quite big but not overly so. There was a white sink under a large mirror to one side of the room and adjacent was a spar bath and shower combo with light blue shower curtains with tropical fish prints along the bottom and a toilet near the back of the room. She placed the things on the side of the sink and went to adjust the temperature before she took off her clothes and placed them near the toilet, she stepped into the shower and under the spray, letting the feeling of the warm water rush down her body before she closed the shower curtains and started her regular washing routine.

After getting out of the shower an hour later she headed back to the lounge room with just a towel around body, she looked at the animals and saw the cat looking intently at her before it jumped down from the lounge and bounded over to her happily making her giggle and bend down a little to pick him up.

“Hey there little guy, miss me already?” she said and nuzzled her face against it’s before cuddling it to her chest again. “Awwww so cute” she gushed happily and looked over to the other two and giggled at how they seemed to look away fast when she looked up. ‘How can people say that animals don’t have souls, I mean look at them’ she thought and smiled down at the cat who seemed to be gnawing at the knot in her towel. “Hey that’s not a chew toy” she said and placed it back down on the coach in between the other two animals who still tried not to look at her.

“Alright you three I’m going to put some water into a couple of bowls in the kitchen, if you get thirsty in the night go there, I’ll also leave the back door open so no doing your business in the house understood” she said to them and received three simultaneous ‘what-the-fuck’ looks. “Hey don’t give me those looks” she said before heading to the kitchen to do what she said.

Just before Hayley got to the back door she heard her phone start to chime with an incoming call again and rushed into the lounge room and picked it up to read the caller id without noticing all three animals looking at her.

“Damn a private number” she muttered before flipping her phone open to accept the call. “Hello, this is Hayley's crematorium you kill em' we grill em'” Hayley said into the receiver after placing the phone to her ear, she couldn’t help but chuckle at her own joke as she headed back to the back door to open it enough for the wolf to get through since he was the biggest out of the three.

“Hayley!? Thank god you’re alright. Where the hell are you? Why haven’t you been answering your phone? Are you hurt? Did your car bust again? Do you need me to pick you up?” Hayley heard the frantic voice of Soul on the other end making her loose her smile and clench her hand into a fist as she made her way back into the lounge room with a frown.

“I’m fine as I can be considering the circumstances; I’m no where you should know about, No I don’t want you to pick me up bastard, I don’t want to see your face for a long while” She said into the phone angrily, biting her bottom lip to keep herself from breaking down crying again.

“What the fuck Hayley? What happened? What I do?” he heard replied confusedly.

“Oh like you don’t fucking know, how does you fucking some red headed bimbo in OUR bed? Does that ring any bells, you fucking backstabbing cheating son of a bitch” Hayley said through gritted teeth as she heard a deep intake of breath on his end.

“Listen Hayley I can explain, you see......” Soul started but she cut him off.

“See what Soul? What! your clothes just happen to fall apart at the same time for some reason and you both trip simultaneously on the tattered remains onto OUR FUCKING BED and your dick ‘just happened to accidentally’ slipped into her” Hayley growled before she started to pace the length of her lounge room. ‘Just hang up the damn phone Hayley’ she thought not noticing she had started to cry again.

“You know what? Fuck it! I don’t want to hear your damn excuses, there is no way you can explain what the fuck happened and still keep my trust, you better be good at grovelling Soul because till you to regain my trust I wont have anything to do with you. L will be over sooner or later to get my things” She added before snapping her phone closed effectively cutting of anything else her ex would have said and turning off her phone.

She lent against the wall of the house next to the door leading to the kitchen and slid down till she sat on the floor; she curled her knees to her chest and started to cry harder into her knees while she griped her hair tightly as she tried to calm down her breaking heart again.

Hayley felt something bump into her arm; she looked up from her knees and saw the cat sitting next to her, she uncurled herself and pulled the cat onto her lap and nuzzled her face into its fur, she cried for a little longer before calming down, she placed the cat on the floor next to her, she got up and walked silently and sluggishly from the emotional rollercoaster back to the master bedroom and pulled on her underwear and pulled on one of her dads old shirts to sleep in and moved to lay on the bed, she curled up on her side letting the tears go again and cried herself to sleep.

Waking with a groan Hayley turned onto her side away from the shine of the sun coming through the window and reached out to the other side of the bed to cuddle another body but all her hands could find was a large furry ball, she groaned softly and opened her eyes to be greeted with the sight of the wolfs green eyes. ‘Damn those are really nice eyes for a wolf’ she thought before jolting fully wake and jumped back from the wolf in surprise only to bump into another furry body, that yelped softly, Hayley remembered the day before, she sat up in the bed and turned towards the other fury body.

“Awe I’m sorry boy, I didn’t know you where there” she said and checked the poor German shepherd to see if she opened any of his wounds, when she found she didn’t hurt him more then he was she laid her back against the head board and looked down and found the cat stretched out on it’s back where her legs where. “I didn’t expect you three to join me” she said and stroked the cats belly. “I should give you guy’s names. Hmmm well since kitty here looks like he has a scar over his eye I’m going to be unoriginal and call you Scar” she said and giggled a little while continuing to pat the kitty’s belly whose leg kicked a little like a dogs.

Looking over to the German shepherd and looked it over to see if he had any marks on him to give her a clue what to call him. “Hmmm Saber, yeah I like that, Since you’re really white it’s like from the Ice Age when Saber tooth tigers where around” she said before scratching the dog behind the ear with her other hand and watched it as it’s tongue came out of its mouth and lent into her hand enjoying being scratched, the bed moved suddenly and Hayley looked over to see that the wolf had jumped off the bed and walked out the door and shot her a glare over its shoulder.

Getting off the bed Hayley moved into the bathroom and got changed into the maroon short sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans that she wore the day before since she knew that it fit her and she didn’t want to wear anything else of her dead parents. ‘Hmm now a name for the wolf, hehehe Randy(1) he’ll so get pissed at it but it does mean ‘shield-wolf’’ she thought brushing her hair in the bathroom mirror before coming back out of the bathroom and smiled at the two still on her bed. “He’s names going to be Randy, hehe” She laughed before hearing a growl in the door way, she looked over and looked at the wolf as its eyes glared at her while she continued to laugh softly. “What’s wrong Randy?” she asked and moved out of the way as it lunged at her. “Awwe don’t be that way it’s just a name instead of Wolf or Boy” she laughed and quickly manoeuvred out of the room and headed to the house phone.

Picking up the phone Hayley dialled the familiar number of the only other friend she had, she placed the phone to her ear and shot a cheeky smile at the wolf as it stalked out of the bedroom with the cat and German shepherd behind him, the wolf gave her one last glare before jumping onto the lounge and laid down, Saber laid on the ground under the wolf and Scar decided to rub against her legs. ‘You’re really affectionate aren’t you Scar’ she thought with a smile.

“Hello” A rough voice answered through the phone making her smile brighter.

“Yo L It’s me” Hayley replied happily.

“OH NO! The voices are back again!” The one dubbed as L replied before the phone went dead as he hung up, Hayley laughed softly, shaking her head and pressed redial on the phone and waited for it to get picked up again.

“Funny one L but I did a better one last night. Unfortunately this isn’t a social call; I need your help....” Hayley started once she heard the phone connect to the other side only to be cut off.

“What? You need help? What’s wrong with my little sweet heart? Tell me! Is someone hurting you?” the man on the other side demanded.

“Not that kind of help L but thanks for worrying, I just need you to go to Soul’s place and get all my stuff” She replied with a light chuckle. Soul had introduced Hayley and L to each other when they had first got together, his real name was Levin Riley but he liked everyone to call him L, he was a big bloke being 33, he was 7,3 tall and had broad shoulders and weighted at least 100kg, Hayley liked to call him a gentle giant because even though he towered over her 5.6 slender frame he would always be gentile and nice to her whenever they were together, he had shaggy dirty blond hair and soft golden brown eyes.

“Awww what’s wrong between my two favourite couple?” L replied with a deep laugh as Hayley moved to a single seat.

“We aren’t doing too well, I’m staying at my parent’s house, they left it for me in their Will” Hayley replied sadly and felt the cat jump onto her lap and started to knead at her thigh.

“Oh no, it’s that bad? What did he do? Don’t worry I’ll get your things for you and bring them over by tonight, you are my favourite out of you two and when I come over you can tell me all about it” he said and Hayley smiled at the phone while stroking the cats back.

“Thank you Levin, I knew I could count on you to get my stuff without telling him where I am. I can’t wait for you to bring my stuff I want to introduce you to three new friends of mine” she replied.

“Please Hayley, L is fine, besides you know if you kill him I’ll clean for you for free. Ohhh new friends. Tell me they aren’t better than me are they?” she listened.

“No L no one can be better then you and thank you I know you’ll always be there” she replied taking it as a joke before telling him the address of her parent’s house. “I should be home at about 4:30pm, if I decide to go to work, also could you get me a couple of boxes or a trunk. I need to pack their things away, it’s too depressing to see the things they left behind” she added sweetly.

“Of course I will sweetie, hey maybe if you two don’t work out. Do you think we have a chance?” she heard him and giggled a little with a small blush dusting over her nose.

“L I’m only 19, your 14 years my senior I think people will find it bad” she replied while giggling, she always liked Levin because he always gave her a little hope that if anything happened between her and Soul, she would still be able to find another man.

“Aww oh well, I’ll see you tonight Hayl’s, be careful ok” he said with a small playful wine.

“See you L” Hayley bid goodbye and hang up the phone and looked at the cat on her lap. “You enjoy human contact don’t you?” she said and placed the phone on the coffee table and started to think about what she was going to do.
