Chapter 2

Aiden was already gone when I woke just after ten. I wander groggily done to the kitchen to start my coffee, and use the bathroom. I avoided my appearance in the mirror, but smiled when the first wave of coffee hit my senses. I love that aroma. I grabbed the steaming, black mug before making way to my bedroom to gather my clothes for the day. I stopped in my studio on the way when I noticed the door open. On my desk was a neatly fold piece of parchment with Aiden’s fine writing, swirled and harsh but all together beautiful. I opened the letter carefully and breathe in the scent of the paper. He always sprays the note with his cologne, and its smell alone can cause my groan to stir. It’s a light musk, with a dash a pine and a hint of spice.

Johnny,
The head of the band, Jimmy, will be joining us for dinner at the Italian restaurant near by.
Be sure to dress appropriately.
He should be arriving at 4. If I should be late try to entertain him.

Aiden

I always hope for the, I love you, but it never seems to be there. At least he cares enough to put his scent on the letters. I quickly make way to the shower. I spend a few hours working on a large painting I’ve been trying to finish before going to my closet to get ready to leave.

I dress myself in a silk red shirt, with a fine brocade coat made of silk and velvet. I choice my less form fitted black pants and my leather shoes. I add just a small line of eyeliner and place my crimson scarf around my neck. I brace myself for the bitter cold as I make way to my car. It only takes a few minutes to arrive at the classy restaurant that Aiden is so fond of.

I arrive at the restaurant just minutes before four figuring it wouldn’t hurt to be early. I walk through the doors to be greeted by the usual hostess Victoria. Her long brown hair is clasped with a silver clip, her black attire flowing gracefully from her thin frame. She grabs a menu from the podium before greeting me with a hug. I try not to wince in her tight embrace, pulling away quickly.

“It’s great to see you. How have you been?” She asks as she leads me into the more private dining room.

“I’ve been alright. Has Aiden arrived yet?” I say as I follow her through the immaculate dining area. Every table is equipped with a fresh rose and a few candles. The cathedral ceilings are adorned with wild ivy and the stained glass provided privacy from the outside. In this section each table has a private set of divider for added privacy, each from Italy and crafted by the finest. Each mountain scene called to you with the beauty and texture of its rolling hills.

“Aiden called and stated he would be about a half hour late. Mr. Frances is already here.” She stops in front of one of the sectional.

“Here you are Johnny, I’m sure I’ll see you soon. Have great meal gentlemen.” She said with a slight bow before leaving us. I quickly sit down before reaching out my hand. My jaw almost drops when I see the man I’m supposed to spend the better part of an hour with. He takes my hand with his incredibly smooth and chillingly cold hand and gives it a firm shake. I shiver slightly when he fingers caress mine as he pulls away.

“I’m, um.” I couldn’t form rational thoughts well at this moment. His pale blue eyes were locked on mine and he wore an amused smile. His hair was waved slightly, adding an almost wild look to him, and black as the darkest shadows, almost appearing blue in the dim lighting.

“I’m Johnny.” I have to clear my throat, thoroughly embarrassed that I squeak like a teenager. “Excuse me, I’m Johnny Black. I’m Aiden’s partner. I’m sorry to inform you that he’ll be arriving late this evening.” He leans forward as I speak, his hand idly tapping the table with the barest of sound.

“Well I see myself at a benefit.” He smiles his perfect smile, teeth incredibly white, lips curved in a perfect grin that goes straight to my groin.

“I’m not sure what you mean.” I say, feeling rather idiotic.

“I’m just delighted by the idea of spending this time with a beauty such as you.” He says, taking a sip of his water, and my face flushes.

“Right, so, I trust you have your copy of the contract?” I ask studying the leather of his jacket to avoid complete eye contact.

“Yes, though I’m sure the questions I have will need to be answered by Aiden.” He says and I meet his eyes, his beautiful soul wrenching eyes. The server chooses this moment to walk over. It’s not our normal server and I suspect she’s new. I just hope she’s prepared for the harsh criticism Aiden with give.

“Good evening. My name is Charity; I’ll be your server for the evening.” She takes a quick pause to look me over and wink. “Can I get you a drink to start?” I’m annoyed when she keeps her gaze on me.

“Just coffee, thank you.” I say and watch as she tosses her long, blonde ponytail back and sticks out her chest a little.

“Of course, would you like something as well?” I roll my eyes when she finally looks to Jimmy.

“I’ll just have what he’s having.” He says with a smile, though his eyes never leave mine.

“I’ll be back in a bit.” She says before walking away with a noticeable sway of the hips. She does have a nice form, but she’s still a she.

“She seems into you, you should ask her out.” Jimmy says though I know he’s just asking the one question people always want to know. Gay or straight?

“I’m already taken.” I say glancing at the menu; I can’t help the slight blush creeping on to my features.

“She’s a lucky woman.” He says with a shy tone, almost to quiet to hear.

“I won’t tell Aiden you called him a woman.” I might as well let that one out.

“Oh.” He says, taking a deep breath. His eyes are between melancholy and wrath.

“Here you are cutie.” Charity says with her higher than normal voice. I try not to breathe once the smell of fake roses hits my senses. Why do some women believe perfume to be the answer to attraction? I make a point to keep eye contact with Jimmy, and try anxiously to ignore the reaction it’s having on my body.

“Thanks.” I say quickly, briefly glancing at her. I can see her set Jimmy’s cup down with a little more force than mine. He smirks before he eyes take a brief moment to check me out as best he can with the table in the way. The reddened cheeks come back and the butterflies threaten to eat the core of my stomach.
“Are you ready to order?” Her voice seems to have lost some charm.

“We’re actually waiting on one more. Just a little while please?” I keep eye contact with her to keep myself from being completely rude. This results in her blushing and stammering.

“Take your time. Let me know if you need anything.” She tries to make her voice more seductive. Should I try to hold down the vile coming from my throat?

“Wow, she just doesn’t give.” I say once she’s away, adding sugar to my coffee.

“I can’t blame her honestly. You are gorgeous.” I try to ignore the comment while I stir my coffee. My eyes trained desperately on the menu.

“What are you having?” He asks with a chuckle and I look up at him from my lashes.

“Um.” I try. “I’m not sure.” I say before finding myself once again locked to his eyes. The color was different now, a deep purple swimming in the iciest color blue with shimmering shards of silver. His full dark lashes compliment them perfectly. I was addicted.

“Your eyes are breath taking.” I say it before my brain has formed rational though. His eyes sparkle at the comment, his flawless face forming a smile. Those lips stretched so greedily along his teeth that I wanted to part them with my tongue. He leans forward, hand sneaking its way to mine. His cold fingers just barely touch mine. We leave them that way, close enough to feel the energy of the other, but far enough to be almost innocent.

“I’m having fettuccini, you?” I say quickly, trying to forget about my embarrassing outburst and the intimate lack of contact. He chuckles softly and I force my eyes to the menu again. I’m secretly thankful for its length.

“House salad. I don’t think my stomach could take much else.” I can still feel his gaze on me. It’s nice to have someone’s undivided attention, though I feel guilty for enjoying it.

“How long have you and Aiden been together?” He asks with his beautifully calming voice.

“6 years.”

“Wow. You must have been young. How old is he?” His voice becomes a bit more timid.

“He’s 36. He’ll be 37 in July.” I smile at him, and quickly scan the restaurant for Aiden.

“So he was 30, and you were?” Jimmy asked curiously, but I could hear Aiden’s voice in the background so it went ignored. I sat a little straighter, pulled my hands back and hoped Jimmy would not flirt with me in the presence of Aiden.

“I apologize for my tardiness. It was something that couldn’t wait. “Aiden pulls out his chair before shaking Jimmy’s hand. I can’t help but notice that Jimmy’s eyes darken, he looks irritated.

“Johnny was great company, so don’t worry yourself.” Jimmy says smiling briefly.

“Glad to hear that.” Aiden reaches into his briefcase to pull out two rather lengthy documents. He hands them to Jimmy before looking around.

“Where is Elizabeth?” Aiden asks him with a raised brow. She must be his manager.

“She had to bring her daughter to the ER. Is this it?” Jimmy’s voice is more confident as he looks over the documents. I just now notice how incredibly soft and delicate his hands look. I try not to stare.

“Yes. I’m just in need of your signature. Elizabeth signed yesterday.” Aiden says with a bored voice. He grabs my hand placing it on his thigh before lacing his fingers with mine. I smile brightly; it’s been a long time since he held my hand in his. I find it very comforting, causing me to hum with contentment.

“Everything looks to be in order.” He looks to me before signing the various pages with his scribble. I’m in a state of bliss when our waitress walks over.

“Hello, I’m Charity. I’ll be your server this evening; may I get you a drink?” She chooses to keep her flirty, and obnoxiously perky, voice.

“I would like a glass of your finest Cabernet Sauvignon.” Aiden speaks with a condescending tone, eyes watching Jimmy as he signs the paperwork. I feel something touch my hand, I tense slightly before looking to spot a folded piece of paper.

“I’ll be right back with that.” She nods, cheeks flush, and I hear Jimmy chuckle. He must have noticed. Aiden looks at him sharply before turning his eyes to me, still glinting with annoyance.

“What is so amusing?” His voice is sharper, but I can tell he’s trying not to sound menacing. I show him the piece of paper, still folded, from Charity. He takes it from me and opens it. It’s just a simple call me, with her number, and her name with hearts around it.

“Well won’t she be disappointed.” Aiden says bitterly. I choose this moment to look at Jimmy. I find myself admiring the way he carries himself. It’s almost confident, but shy, and yet ready to defend if need be. He seems almost wild, especially in Aiden’s company. So much mystery to this gorgeous man, so much I want to learn. I look away when I start to wonder what those lips would feel like pressed against my skin. I shift a little when Charity comes back to the table, an added sway to her hips. I noticed that she also add a medium shade of lipstick that actually complemented her features.

“Here’s your drink.” She walks toward Aiden’s side to place his glass; she keeps her gaze on me, giving me a not so subtle wink.

“Charity, I find myself rather disappointed to your actions.” He brings our entwined hands to rest on the table, her face pales. “You see, I find your name bears a striking resemblance to your manner.” Aiden’s voice is hard, accent thicker and he’s staring her straight in the eyes.

“You give your phone number to a stranger, who just so happens to be the lover of the man paying the bill.” He pauses to take a sip of his wine. His thumb traces my ring.

“The only tip you shall receive this evening will be entirely out of pity, or better yet Charity.” He says her name with a spiteful tone, his smirk dangerous on his thin lips.

“How about you do us a favor, get another server to take our order. Perhaps then you will stop embarrassing yourself.” He takes the paper she gave to me and tears it, tossing the pieces in his untouched water. He hands her a dollar, which she takes somewhat proudly, before she walks away, tears streaming down her cheeks. Aiden smirks wickedly before giving me a brief, but sharp, kiss. I look at Jimmy, to give him a silent apology. His eyes are focus on Aiden, eyes dark with rage, but he keeps himself calm. He looks to me, smiling gently, his eyes calming becoming lighter in color.

“Good Evening gentleman. My name is Olivia; I will be taking care of your order. I apologize for any inconvenience. Would you like a few moments or shall I take your order?” This waitress had copper hair, sharper features, and a more sophisticated voice.

“I believe we have decided. I shall have the top sirloin, rare, with garlic potatoes and zucchini.” Aiden replies his voice mannered and polite. I could tell he’s rather pleased with himself. The waitress looks to me.

“May I have the shrimp fettuccini?” Aiden lets go of my hand to take our menu to give to Olivia.

“I’ll have the house salad, thank you.” Jimmy looks at me again before putting a lose strand behind his ear. I find myself wondering what that hair would feel like caressing the skin of my neck. I shift before focusing my eyes on the other tables, taking in what each have ordered.

“I will put your orders in.” Her tone and features remain neutral as she walks away.

“Johnny, have you heard of the club Widows Web?” Jimmy asks me and the intense gaze he gives me makes me flush.

“Yes, I have.” I say to him, trying to keep my eyes on him without blushing too much. I can’t stop my mind from the intimate thoughts. He must be the most beautiful man I have ever laid eyes on. His jaw is sharp, his nose just slightly crooked, but the perfect length for his long face. His complexion was the softest shade of pale flesh, scar less, perfect. Those eyes, never will I look on something as breathtaking and striking. Every time he looks at me I felt as though I was the only person in the room.

“Tomorrow night at 7 I’ll be there for a show. It’d be great if the two of you would come.” Jimmy’s looks to Aiden, smile playing on his lips.

“I have other plans, but Johnny may go. I’m sure he’d like to venture out of the house.” He caresses my check and I can’t help but lean into the touch. “He’s always so caught up with his art.” Aiden says, placing his napkin in his lap.

“What kind of art do you do?”

“Anything really. I prefer to paint though, but I sculpt as well.” I look at Aiden who’s watching Jimmy closely, his eyes narrowing.

“I’d love to see some of your work.” Jimmy leans forward, his cheek resting softly on his slender hand. Aiden clears his throat, obviously not enjoying the attention I’m receiving.

“Jimmy you’ll be doing a short tour before studio time. I would like you to come to my home office Saturday to go over the details.” Aiden writes our directions down on a loose piece of paper from his clipboard. I can’t help but wonder why he was inviting Jimmy to the house.

“I should be able to do that. Did you have a time in mind?”

“How about around 5:30? I’ll have Johnny prepare us a meal.” Olivia arrived with our food and my stomach rumbled just from the smell. I’ve always enjoyed the smell of fresh garlic and parmesan cheese. She placed our food down before asking us if we’d like cheese. When she got no response she left the table. I took the first bite and nearly moaned with delight. The pasta was fresh, just soft enough and the sauce was unbelievably creamy. I savored the taste in my mouth before liking the remnants off the fork. I looked across the table to see Jimmy very still, lust laden in his eyes. Jimmy quickly regained posture and stared at his salad as he ate. I held back a laugh. I looked to Aiden, watching as he cut his steak. I was always fascinated watching his hand use the blade so skillfully and almost artistically. I always thought he should be a surgeon, a thought I wished I never had as I watch him use a scapula to carve his name into my flesh. I still remember the pain, and arousal, but most of all the fear.

“Cooked perfectly” Aiden commented, taking a bite of the red meat.

“Please excuse me for a moment.” Jimmy said, standing quickly, his skin looked pale, his eyes dark. I watch him all but run to the restroom. I found myself very concerned, was he alright?

“Aiden, do you mind if I check on him. He looked rather pale.” I say and take a few quick bites of my food.

“By all means.” He says with a wave of his hand. He smacks my ass as I get up, and I wink at him before making way to the bathroom. I hear a man scoff in the corner, obviously noticing our interaction. I find Jimmy leaning against the sink; arm and forehead pressed again the glass. He’s pale and shaking.

“Jimmy, are you alright?” I ask, voice filled with worry, I move a little closer to him. He jumps back when he sees me.

“I’m fine. It’s just that the smell of blood make me queasy.” He steps closer to me; I step back and come to the wall. He comes close to me, putting very little space between us, I can smell his skin, feel his warmth radiating.

“Though, I'm feeling better now that you're with me. Alone.” He says with a purr, leaning into my neck to breathe me in. I can feel his lips press gentle to my neck, his tongue just barely tasting me. I moan softly, aroused and wanting him so much closer. He steps back suddenly, shocked.

“I’m sorry, that was very inappropriate,” He puts as much space between us as he can.

“It’s alright, let go back to dinner, okay?” My eyes are watering lightly from the lust bursting through me. My very body seems to be buzzing, needing that contact from him, and only him. I shiver.

“I’ll actually be heading home, see you tomorrow?” He walks past me, his hand brushing against my chest as he moves.

“Give Aiden my deepest apologies.” He says before closing the door. I sigh loudly, splash my face with cold water, and walk back into the arms of the beast.

We leave the restaurant shortly after Jimmy with Aiden in quite the mood. He has me pressed against the wall to the entrance way before he can even close the door. His lips are harsh on my jaw line, nipping, and kissing as his hands take off my pants. He has one hand grasped around my cock as he finally kisses me. His kiss is passionate and claiming as he forces my mouth open with my tongue.

“Mine.” He says as his teeth bite down on the junction between my shoulder and neck. He pushes himself away from me to close the door before roughly tossing me to the couch.

“I want you on your hands and knees, clothes off.” I know I have no time to argue so I make quick work of my shirt and underwear. His clothes are off and folded in the blink of an eye and he’s pressing himself against my back.

“You’ve pleased me Johnny.” He says almost gently as his hand following my spine before teasing my entrance. He puts a dry finger in fully, immediately pushing on my prostate before the pain can fully register. He pulls it out before coming back with his fingers slick, two this time. I try not to tense as he drives his fingers in, fast, harsh but still pleasurable. Without warning he enters in two more fingers, stretching me to the max and making me scream out in pain.

“Shh, easy love.” He says, kissing my shoulders. He removes his fingers and enters me swiftly. He’s moving before I can adjust, slowly angling his hips.

“Speak to me.” His voice is laden with lust; his teeth pierce the skin of my shoulder. I scream out before biting my lip, curving my back to have him drive into my prostate. His arms wrap around me tight, holding me close to him as his moves inside of me. When his hand grasps around my erection I moan out his name, his hand tightens on my ribcage.

“Always so tight.” He moans into my ear before he pushes my head to the couch, leaving me arching more, higher. His thrusts are rough, purposeful, angled for the most pleasure. I groan with bliss as I release violently into his hand. His thrusts become more frantic and I feel him tense before releasing inside of me. He kisses my shoulder roughly; I can tell he’s tasting my blood. He gets up suddenly walking to the kitchen. I hear him get himself something to drink before coming back.

“So, I’m going to be in NY tomorrow morning. I will not be home until mid afternoon on Saturday. I’m going to trust you Johnny. Do not disappoint me.” He holds my gaze, his eyes firm, daring me to disobey him. “I’m retiring for the evening, I will see you Saturday.” He gives me a firm kiss, pushing his tongue into my mouth, tasting me.

“Would you like me to come with you?” I know I’m pushing my luck, but it’s been so long since I fell asleep with the warmth of another.

“Of course not. You know I wish to sleep alone.” He starts to walk away.

“I love you.” I say quickly, he turns briefly to smirk at me before walking up the stairs. I sigh softly and stand to tidy up the room, take a shower, and fall asleep in my empty bed.
