Chapter Three

Just to let everyone know, this story is complete, but I’d like to update each chapter one at a time to see if I get hits and reviews. So—even though not all chapters are on here, it says complete. Sorry if I confused or angered any of you who already took a look at my story. And onward to chapter 3! :)

CHAPTER 3:

Within the dark, mysterious room, a shadowy presence twirled a glass filled with a blood colored drink. Every so often the shadow would bring the glass to his lips, taking a sip before continuing twirling the glass. Astoundingly, not one drop spilled. After another sip or two, the shadow paused to hear the steal door behind him open. A skinnier, petite figure of a woman entered the room. She was very attractive: peach skin, tall, short, curling light brown hair reached to her shoulders, her eyes were a light green color, and she had rosy pink lips.

“Luke,” the woman spoke, her voice sounded troubled, “I’ve found you. Why are you in here, alone?” The shadowed man known as Luke let out a low grunt. He took another sip from the glass before answering the lovely woman.

“Teo found his puppet today,” Luke answered, his voice sounded handsome, but it was low and almost dark. The woman smiled, though her expression seemed sad.

“Yes…” Luke set his glass down, and then leaned back in the chair he sat in. His face still hid from view.

“So,” Luke set his hands onto his visible lap, “What’s her name?”

“Her name is Ivalyn,” the woman answered, “she and Teo found one another last night. They found one another by fate.”

“Like all others do,” Luke grunted, touching the rim of the glass with his pointer finger, “Like all of us do.”

“…Luke,” the woman became nervous-sounding, “Um…I know that you and I will find our own puppets soon. We…we just have to be patient.” Though Luke did not see it, this lovely lady had a blush form on her cheeks. It would appear that she liked Luke, and hoped that he was her puppet, “Maybe I can…cheer you up some.” The woman made her way closer to Luke; she began to slip her straps off of her shoulders.

“Chen…” Luke hissed his face now visible by the moonlight. He was a very attractive man. Long, flowing brown hair fell past his shoulders. He had chocolate brown eyes, fair peach skin, and a smooth looking face, “…Please.”

“Luke,” Chen whispered sexily, moving slower towards Luke. Her shirt was nearly off. Luke grunted, then, while Chen moved over the desk he sat before like a lioness stalking her prey, “You know you want me. Why can’t we just be together?”

“Because,” Luke answered; his eyes fixed over Chen’s uncovered breasts, “It’s not how it’s supposed to be. You know it’s true.” Chen pulled her head back, giving off a little giggle, allowing Luke a full look at her jiggling breasts.

“Oh Luke,” Chen moved her face over Luke’s left ear, whispering seductively, “Who cares?” Though Chen’s beauty was hard to resist, Luke managed. He stood to his feet, heading towards the door.

“I do,” Chen glared at Luke’s vanishing back. After left alone, Chen angrily slapped at the glass beside her, making it crash to the floor; the blood-red fluid soaked the floor. Covering her exposed breasts, Chen turned to glare out the window, looking over the huge city.

“There you are,” Luke looked up to see a buffed man waving him over, “Luke, man, where’ve ya been!”

“Sorry Teo,” Luke moved almost like a ghost; his body just floated, “I had to be alone for awhile, then got distracted for a brief moment.”

“Hey, no worries,” Teo turned to the girl standing beside him, “But let’s make you two better acquainted. This is Ivalyn, my puppet. Ain’t she a hottie?”

“It’s finally nice to meet the legendary Luke,” Ivalyn shook Luke’s glove-covered hand, “So you’re the leader of this group, huh? I was never part of an immortal group. I used to work alone.”

“You’re immortal, correct?” Ivalyn nodded her head to Luke’s question, “Ready to show me proof?”

“Dude,” Teo lifted Ivalyn’s arm, revealing a strange symbol on her wrist, “She has the tattoo, but if you want proof…”

“I can give him proof,” Ivalyn gave Teo a seductive kiss, “Don’t worry.” Teo felt his whole body tense up.

“God I love you,” Teo grinned over at Luke, “She has proof.” Luke stood waiting, along with the other members of his group just to indicate that Ivalyn isn’t lying. Taking her glass, Ivalyn smashed it against a table. At this time, Chen emerged from around the hall, and stayed leaning in the shadows. Taking a sharpened glass piece, Ivalyn held out her arm, (the one without the tattoo on it,) and stuck the sharp piece of glass down. She gave out a loud moan as drops of her blood fell to the floor. Teo stood next to his puppet, awaiting her wound to heal. It took a few seconds, though, and the group began to believe that Ivalyn was a mortal imposter. However, the wound soon vanished and Ivalyn began to wipe her bloody arm with a tiny tissue, “See,” Teo held onto his puppet closely, wishing he could take her right then, “She is one of us.”

“Alright,” Luke bowed before Ivalyn, “Welcome to the group, Ivalyn.” Ivalyn bowed before her new master, thankful for his allowing her to stay.

“Thank you, Luke the Unknown.” Luke the Unknown was what Luke was known as. He, from what his group of immortals could see, is the most powerful immortal of all.

Everyone in the group were about to continue with their daily basis, but suddenly one of Luke’s second in commands, an immortal black-skin named Rod, rushed over to whisper in Luke’s ear.

“Luke,” Rod whispered, “I just found two dead mortal bodies outside.” Luke tensed up, and his entire group turned to him.

“Rod just shared something interesting with me,” Luke gave a glare off to his group members and it scared the shit out of them, so they all gave him their full attention, “Two mortal bodies, found dead are outside. Which one of you had some fun tonight?” Silence fell over. The immortal gang all looked at one another, wondering who was guilty, “Well spit it out! Who did the crime?” Still, silence was all that answered Luke. He grew angry, but knew that his group, they were all truthful. If they were not, they knew that Luke would find out, so what would be the point of lying? Luke gave off a groan, “Alright, I’ll go check it out. You all stay here. Teo and Rod, take charge.” Teo and Rod gave a salute as their old leader suddenly flew out the door.

Entering the cold, night air, Luke made his way towards the scent of mortal flesh. He soon found the dead body. Well, it was one of them, and it stank! Luke wanted to cover his nose, for the smell of dead mortals was worse then a garbage dump, but Luke kept his sense of smell under control. Making his way up to the body, Luke kneeled down to take a better look. Flies already began to swarm over the dead body, though it was on its stomach. Luke quickly turned the body around. His entire body nearly fell over as the body’s intestines fell over the concrete. Luke made a few coughs, but other then that he was fine. Dead bodies didn’t bother him, it was just the smell. Luke shook his head at the sight of yellowish slugs already nesting on pieces of flesh within the body.

“Damn,” Luke lifted his head, “Definitely the work of an immortal, but who could do such a thing as this?”

“Freeze,” Luke’s ears perked to hear a male voice behind him. The voice sounded almost attractive, “I caught you red-handed, murderer! Put you hands into the air!” Turning his head slowly towards the intruder, Luke’s eyes fell over a man. Not just any man, though, this young, uniformed man had the scent of mortal all over him.
