Restarting the project
An expression of absolute pain was on Jared’s face; he wasn’t screaming, but making very short breaths. Chloe bit him; she drove her fangs into his shoulder, just like a vampire.
“Chloe…” Jake was in disbelief. If Jake still didn’t know her very well this wouldn’t have surprised him as much, but now after accepting her…
Yes, YES! NOW KILL HIM!
‘Let’s not go that far.’ Chloe took her fangs out and dropped Jared on the ground.
Sorry, I got caught up in the moment.
Chloe wiped the blood from her face. She looked at Jared on the ground; he was holding his shoulder and a pool of blood had already formed by him. Jake had taken out his cell phone and called the hospital.
Look, Jake’s trying to save the poor bastard.
‘Good, I don’t have to ask him then.’
Why would you want to save him?
‘Why kill him? It isn’t his fault that he’s stupid.’
Good point.
“Chloe?” Chloe looked at Jake. “You spaced out again.” he looked a bit nervous.
“I apologize. Should we go or…?”
“Yeah, lets buy your stuff.” he said. They went into the store; Jake was still disturbed from what he saw Chloe do. They arrived at the electronics section and Chloe started looking at the computers.
‘Damn, she is a freak. She bit Jared like a real vampire! I can’t believe it, I know Chloe’s different, but this is…’
“Jacob!” his head shot up. “I asked you a question.”
“Oh, sorry.” he said. ‘Great, now I’m the one spacing out.’ Chloe asked him some complicated computer question that he really didn’t understand. She had to use laymen’s term for him to understand, and then he could answer the question. She bought a laptop and laser printer. They carried them back to her apartment.
They set her new stuff down on the table. “It’s getting late; you may go home if you wish,” she said to him.
“Thanks, I’m getting tired,” he said, glad he could get away from her. The image of Chloe biting Jared was still fresh in his mind. He left the building and walked home.
Well, I guess he can be useful sometimes.
Chloe didn’t respond to Lilith.
Jake walked home, deep in thought about the sight he saw earlier. He won’t deny that Jared had it coming, but it still disgusted him that Chloe bit him. Biting in the shoulder like that, she did it to sever and artery; it’s a brilliant tactic, but it seemed far too drastic.
He entered his house. Apparently his mom was still asleep, so he made his own dinner and went to bed.
Monday, 1st period
Jake sat down. He looked to the far corner of the room and looked at an empty desk, Jared’s desk. A shiver went down his spine.
“Yo, dumbass.” Craig waved his hand in front of Jake’s face. “Quit spacing out!” he said.
“Oh…sorry.” he replied.
“What’s buggin ya?” he asked.
“Um, nothing.”
“Come on…” he leaned a bit closer. Jake chuckled a bit.
“Well…yesterday…” Jake began.
“Chloe shot you down, didn’t she?” Craig shook his head.
“What? No!” Jake’s head shot up.
“So she said yes,” he guessed.
“Ya know what? Never mind.”
“Fine, just answer this, does this have anything to do with her house burning down?” he asked.
“…Very indirectly.” Jake mumbled.
2nd period
Jake entered the classroom. “Mr. Adams, come over here a minute.” Mr. Mullet said. Jake saw he was talking to Chloe.
“Yeah?” he asked.
“Because of the…mishap that happened this weekend, I’ll give you two until Friday to finish the project.” he explained.
“Thank you,” Chloe said.
“Yeah.” Jake added.
“So don’t disappoint me, understood?” he asked.
Yes, of mighty overlord. But I warn you; your servants are planning your downfall as we speak. Hehe.
“I promise, we won’t displease you,” said Chloe.
“Good, now take your seats.”
After school
Jake followed Chloe back to her apartment. After Jake left yesterday she managed to lug a couch over and had the table right up to it. She sat on the couch and Jake sat in a chair on the other side. Chloe had hooked up the laptop to the Internet connection in the apartment. She printed out some information and they got to work. They talked and worked; it was much easier than last time since they got along and already knew what they were doing.
Chloe yawned; Jake shivered as he got a perfect view of her fangs. A tear welled up in her eye and she wiped it away. After that she noticed Jake’s discomfort.
“Jacob, you seem troubled,” she pointed out.
“Huh? Oh, I’m fine.” he said.
Chloe, he’s lying.
“No, you’re not fine, something’s bothering you.” she said in her usual lifeless tone as she adjusted her glasses.
“Don’t worry, its nothing,” he said.
Translation: it has something to do with you.
“…I suppose that it’s none of my business.” Chloe went back to her work.
Come on, aren’t you curious?
‘No, not in the least.’
The fact that you asked means you do care. Ask again, and show some concern this time.
‘I don’t care at all, I just mentioned it because if something’s bothering him it will affect the project.’
Don’t lie! I can read your mind, hell; I’m IN your mind. I know why you were concerned and I’m telling you to ask him what’s wrong.
‘She’s spacing out again.’ Jake thought to himself. ‘I shouldn’t bother her.’
Chloe snapped out of her trance soon after. She looked at him intensely; it made Jake uncomfortable.
“Um…” she began.
Jake let out a long sigh. “You’re going to ask me again what’s bugging me, aren’t you.” he said. He was a little surprised when she nodded. “Oh…well it’s about yesterday when…you bit Jared.”
See? It was something about you that was bugging him.
‘A shallow victory for you, indeed.’
“I just…well.” he scratched the back of his head.
“It scared you, didn’t it?” she said.
“No, that not it,” he quickly stated.
He’s lying again.
“It’s just that…why were you so drastic?” he asked.
“Because there wasn’t another choice.”
“But that put him in the hospital, it could have even killed him.” Jake said.
“He threatened my life; I believe it was called for.” she said.
“It wasn’t, he wasn’t really going to kill you; you should have just ran.” he explained.
“Then he would’ve gotten you,” she said.
“I could’ve handled him.” Jake said.
Yeah, right. He tossed you aside like trash.
“…Very well; I won’t do that anymore,” she said.
“Good,” Jake laughed; he suddenly felt a lot more comfortable.
What?! You agreed to that WAY too quickly! What’s wrong with you?
Chloe ignored Lilith and went back to her computer. “Interesting…”
“What?” Jake got up and sat down next to her, looking at the screen.
“Read this.” she highlighted a section. While he was reading he bumped his shoulder against hers; her skin felt very soft. They looked at each other and their eyes locked on the others; neither said a word.
Um…Chloe?
Jake put his hand on her shoulder and she turned to face him completely.
Hey, Chloe!
Jake gently pushed Chloe down so her head rested on the armrest. He put his hands around her head and his face slowly approached hers; Chloe didn’t resist at all. He took off her glasses and set them on the table, not for a moment shifting glance form her deep red eyes. Their breaths were caught in their throats and their eyes were half-closed and filled with lust. Chloe puckered her lips slightly as only and inch separated them.
DAMMIT CHLOE, SNAP OUT OF IT!
Chloe yelped and shoved Jake away; Jake almost fell off the couch. Both exhaled their held breaths, their faces beet-red.
Damn, girl. What’s up with you?
“I-I offer m-my sincerest apologies; I assure you that I have n-no idea what c-came over me,” she sputtered.
“No, it was my fault, I’m sorry.” he said; there was a long silence.
Awkward.
Jake’s cell phone rang; he answered.
Chloe, what were you thinking? You almost LET him rape you! Oh no, don’t you dare ignore me! This is very serious!
“Well, I guess it’s past 6:00…so I’ll be going now…” he said.
“V-very well…” Chloe sputtered. Jake walked to the door and left. Chloe rested her head against the armrest and let out a long sigh.
‘Lilith, what just happened?’
I don’t know, you tell me!
Jake walked home with that same question swimming in his head. He had slept with many girls and had many moments with them, but none of them felt quite like that. It was so warm…that’s the only word he could think of to describe it.
He arrived home and came through the door. “Well hello Jake.” his mother said, a trace of annoyance in her voice.
“Sorry I’m late…” he said.
“Jake, is something wrong?” she asked.
“No…”
“Well, I made you favorite; barbecue ribs!” she exclaimed.
“…Sorry, I’m not very hungry now.” he said. His mom’s jaw dropped. “I’m going to take a shower and go to bed; I’m really tired right now.” he went down the hall.
He took his shower and went to bed. He stayed awake for what seemed like hours staring at the ceiling; still wondering what exactly happened at Chloe’s earlier today.
“Aww, forget it. I need some sleep.” he shoved his thought aside. Once he closed his eyes, however, an image came into his head; the time he came into Chloe’s house and saw her butt-naked getting dressed. After a while it became painfully obvious that this image wasn’t going away.
“Oh…to hell with it!” he said. He whipped off the covers and took his pants off; he had an aching erection that needed attention right now.
Tuesday, 2nd period
Jake really didn’t want to go into biology; knowing he had to he walked in…and what he feared happened.
Chloe turned toward him and they stared at each other for a moment.
Turn away, dammit!
Chloe turned away, snapping Jake back to reality; he took his seat.
“Good morning, class,” Mr. Mullet began, “today we’ll be watching a video on single-cell organisms to start the new unit.”
As the video was playing, Jake thought about what to say to Chloe after school. He was so deep in thought he almost didn’t notice the bell ring.
3rd period
Jake sat down next to Craig and Dave. “What’s wrong?” Dave asked. “You look like hell.”
“Didn’t get much sleep last night,” he groaned.
“Fanaticizing about Chloe?” Craig asked.
“What?” Jake asked. Craig was right, but he wasn’t going to admit it.
“I’m just kidding. Hahaha!” he laughed.
“Maybe you’re right, he’s blushing!” Dave said.
“Shut up!” Jake stood up. Everyone in the room turned toward him, his friends went silent and the teacher crossed her arms and drummed her fingers against her arm.
“Jake, do you have something to share with the rest of us?” she asked.
Jake’s face was bright red. “No ma’am.” he sat back down. Dave and Craig didn’t say a thing to Jake for the rest of the period.
Lunch
Dave and Craig got their lunch and joined Jake at the table. “Shouldn’t you get lunch?” Dave asked.
“Not hungry.” Jake said. Just then his stomach growled. “Ignore that.” he blushed.
“Jeeze, when did you last eat?” Craig asked.
“Lunch yesterday.” he said.
“What?” Dave and Craig said together. There was a silence.
“Okay, what’s botherin’ ya already?” Craig demanded. Jake glared at him and he shut up. Dave on the other hand, wasn’t so easily shaken.
“It’ll feel better if you talk about it!” Dave said with concern in his voice.
“Well…” Jake explained to them what happened yesterday at Chloe’s.
“Wow…” was all Dave could say.
“Okay then…” Craig began, “…she digs you, so close in on her! It’s that simple.” he smiled. Jake punched him on top of the head.
“You aren’t helping, Craig.” Dave glared; he turned back to Jake, “But he’s right in saying that she likes you, otherwise she would have thrown you off sooner.” he explained; Jake remained silent. “It’s only going to get worse if you don’t talk to her, this week’s probably going to be hell for the both of you.”
“You’re probably right…” Jake finally answered.
‘I’m staying out of this…I try to help and I get hit. Chloe’s a freak anyways.’ Craig thought to himself. Craig and Dave learned real quickly last week that Chloe was never to be called freak or vampire out loud anymore.
After school
Jake walked to Chloe’s house. Along the was he thought of many things he could say to her, but as soon as he saw her he forgot them all. She was unlocking the door when he saw her.
‘Dammit, say something!’ “Hi, Chloe!” she turned around.
“Hello…Jacob.” she said.
Awkward still; but looking at last night that’s probably a good thing.
Chloe ignored Lilith and opened the door. She sat down on the couch and Jake sat on a chair. They spoke to each other as little as possible and only talked of the project. Lilith was right; it was very awkward.
The hours were the slowest either had ever experienced; the clock on the wall seemed to tick so slowly. Each second passed like an hour. Chloe thought only of the project since Lilith would chew he out is her mind drifted to other things. Jake, on the other hand, wasn’t so lucky. He couldn’t put half his focus into the project. He was helping, but not nearly enough as he could; he was just too distracted. He didn’t know what to say to her but knew he had to say something to her.
“It’s 5:20. You may leave if you wish.” Chloe said without making eye contact.
“Right. Sorry I wasn’t much help today.” he said. He got up and went for home. He forced himself to eat dinner and went to bed.
Wednesday
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
Chloe sat up. She had been awake since midnight, but couldn’t fall back asleep. She turned the alarm off even though she wanted to break the thing.
She still hadn’t gotten used to her new bed; nor her new place for that matter. She got dressed and dragged herself to the kitchen to get breakfast ready.
Rough night. You’re almost done with the project though, so you’ll be able to sleep after school either tomorrow or Friday.
“Yeah…” she rubbed her eyes. She ate breakfast and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face. She got her backpack ready and put her glasses on.
1st period
Chloe was in the girl’s locker room. She changed into her PE clothes and was tying her shoes when someone came up to her.
“Hey, freak show!” she said. Chloe turned around and saw Stella. Stella and her twin Irene were two girls Jake slept with. (You might recall this from Chapter 1.)
“May I help you?” she asked.
“Yeah, you can stop sleeping with Jake!” she said; Chloe blushed a bit.
“What makes you think I’m sleeping with him?” she asked, adjusting her glasses as an excuse to look away so Stella wouldn’t notice she was blushing.
“He follows you to your apartment everyday like a dog; that’s what.” she stated.
“We’re working on a biology project together.” Chloe replied.
“Yeah, right. I’m not buying it,” she said. “Look you slutty bitch, he’s mine and Irene’s. Don’t go near him ever again!” she said.
Chloe was pissed. She stood up and grabbed Stella by the neck. Stella coughed and went silent, glaring at Chloe. The other girls stopped and looked at the two of them. “Look, I’m not a slut. You’re the slut who has sex with your own sister. Jacob is my partner on a project and nothing else! Don’t go throwing accusations until you have proof!” she scolded. She threw Stella down and finished tying her shoes. She then proceeded to the gym.
You don’t know if she has proof or not.
‘I’ve never slept with Jacob, therefore, no proof exists.’
Good point. But if she’s under the impression you are sleeping with him, then others will think the same thing.
‘Lilith, since when have I ever cared what other people think?’
Another good point.
2nd period
Chloe got to biology and sat down in her seat. It was a couple minutes later when Jake arrived; they made eye contact.
Look away, Chloe.
‘My apologies,’ she looked away.
Jake sighed. ‘Okay, today I’m going to say something to her…but what…’
After school
Jake caught Chloe as she was about to head home, so the walked together. Not a single word was spoken between them. They got to her apartment and she opened the door. Chloe sat on the couch again and Jake sat on a chair again.
The only conversation spoken between them was about the project. At around 4:15 Chloe started printing the completed paper.
“So, we got it done?” Jake asked.
“Indeed we did. It took longer than expected, but it’s finally complete.” Chloe stated, her voice holding a bit of pride.
‘Okay…here I go; it’s now or never.’ Jake got up and sat next to Chloe.
“Um…Jacob?”
“I wanted to talk to you about something…” he began.
Ignore him, scream, spill his blood, do something dammit!
‘Let’s see what he has to say.’
“It’s about what happened on Monday…” he began. “When we almost…kissed.”
Chloe’s face turned red. “I already told you, I don’t know what came over me.”
“Well, I know what came over me.” he responded. Chloe stiffened when he said this.
Jake took a deep breath. “Chloe, I…”
“SILENCE!” Chloe yelled. Jake stopped; he noticed Chloe was shaking a bit. “I…I don’t want to hear you say anything!”
“But I…”
“I said silence! I know what you’re going to say, but I don’t want to hear you say it…” she said.
“Why not?” he asked.
“I just don’t…what’s so hard to understand about that?” she said. She took her glasses off and set them on the table and then wiped her tears on her sleeve.
Chloe you’re…crying…
‘Shut it, Lilith.’ even the voice in her head was shaky.
“Chloe…” Jake didn’t know what to say. He didn’t even think a situation like this would rise, so he didn’t know how to react. He expected either acceptance or rejection; he didn’t expect her to not even let him answer.
Chloe buried her face in her hands; she couldn’t stop crying. She didn’t even understand why she was crying; she just cried. Lilith was silent, not having a clue what to say to her.
Jake hated this; Chloe was crying and he hated the way that looked. The worst part was that he didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t take this anymore. “Chloe, I love you!” he blurted out. Chloe stopped crying, frozen scared.
“Lilith, help me. I don’t know what to do…” she whispered. She said this so silently that Jake though she was whimpering. He put his arms around her and stroked her back; this only made her shake more.
I…I’m not real, Chloe. I…can’t make your decisions for you. I’m a figment, I don’t exist, I never existed at all.
“Don’t say that, I need you to help me…” she whispered.
“Stop crying, Chloe. This isn’t like you…” Jake said.
He’s right; you don’t cry Chloe. You haven’t cried since forth grade.
“That’s when you came, though. You’re the reason I stopped crying.”
That was you, not me. Like I said, I’m part of your imagination. I’m not real. You think I dragged your ass out of bed every morning? No, that was you. You think I’m even talking to you? I’m not; I don’t exist.
“Stop saying that…” Chloe silently begged.
Jake isn’t going to wait for your answer all night. If you want my help, tell him what you think; what you want to say to him. Do it now or you’ll never forgive yourself!
“Jacob, I…” Chloe stuttered, “…love you too…” she returned the hug. Jake put his hand under Chloe’s head and lifted her chin up.
They were looking at each other eye-to-eye; Chloe was blushing and Jake was smiling. He brought his face to hers and kissed her. He eased Chloe onto her back and deepened the kiss. Jake couldn’t control his hands; they wandered and explored every inch of Chloe’s body. They found their way up the back of her shirt and stroked her bare back. Even though they were both still fully clothed the touch was electric; for the first time in Chloe’s life she felt horny.
Jake broke the kiss and Chloe gasped for air. Jake grabbed the bottom of her shirt and Chloe blushed. He lifted it up and Chloe lifted her arms to help him take it off. He tossed it aside and reached behind her to fumble with the straps of her breast-bindings. Finally he got them off and tossed them as well; then stared at her perfect D-cups. Chloe’s blush went down to her legs and she whimpered a bit; her eyes begged him to touch them.
He went down to one and licked the nipple; a shiver went down Chloe’s back. He took the now erect nipple in his mouth and played with the other breast with a free hand; Chloe squealed. His other free hand was slipping Chloe’s pants and panties off. Jake lifted his head to take a look at her; she was completely naked now.
“Remember when I came in when you were getting dressed?” he asked; Chloe only nodded. Jake took his shirt off. “You didn’t seem to care that I saw you completely naked,” he whispered as he took the rest off. Before he threw his pant to parts unknown he took a condom from the pocket. Chloe’s arm shot out and snatched it from his hand.
“I’m…on birth control…” she dropped it on the ground. Jake blushed a bit, no girl had ever had unprotected sex with him before. Jake smiled as he lowered himself onto her; the contact between their naked bodies was electric, they both loved it.
“This’ll hurt a bit,” he whispered before he drew her into a deep kiss. He then took his manhood and slowly entered her; her tight virgin walls squeezed him tightly as he pushed himself slowly into her. She was moaning into the kiss. He came to her hymn and broke through it; Chloe’s scream was muffled by the kiss and Jake gave her a moment to recover from the pain. He broke the kiss and put his hands on her hips, gripping tightly.
“Please…be gentle…” she said between heavy breaths. He smiled as he slowly went back and forth inside her, her breathing became heavier and she occasionally moaned. Her legs wrapped around his waist and her hands grabbed his back as she held on for the ride of her life. Jake’s slow pace was agonizing for him, but clearly all Chloe could handle. She was ecstatic; her moans became louder and more frequent. Beads of sweat began to form on her body as her blush went all the way to her toes. In every way, she was beautiful to Jake.
Her mouth was hanging open while she was moaning and Jake saw her fangs quite clearly, but they were a part of Chloe, he wasn’t scared by them anymore; if anything he was even more turned on by the sight of them. Jake quickened the pace a bit and Chloe’s eyes clenched shut. She wasn’t in too much pain, and she was obviously having a good time; she even started moaning his name.
The pace was still too slow for Jake to fully enjoy, but he had to be careful; this was Chloe’s first time and that meant she was a fragile girl. He didn’t want to hurt her.
“Oh Jacob!” she gasped. Her nails dug into his back and broke the skin, drawing blood. Jake didn’t notice the pain at all, though. He quickened the pace more and Chloe was yelling now. She was really catching on and keeping up with his pace. She was in absolute heaven, she even begged him to go faster.
He was really enjoying this now. Jake had slept with a lot of girls, but it had never been this good before. This was Chloe, she was different that the others. Plus, sex is always better unprotected!
“Jacob…I feel…OHH!” she arched her back as she came. Her pussy clenched around his cock; the feeling drove him over the edge as well as he shot his seed inside her. The orgasms lasted a while before the ended; Jake couldn’t hold himself up for much longer, so his lowered himself on top of her, taking his cock out of her.
They stayed like that for a while, both panting heavily. Just then, Jake’s cell phone rang. “It’s probably mom…” he said between breaths. “I won’t answer it…I’ll see her tomorrow.”
“Won’t she be angry?” Chloe asked.
“I’ll stay with you tonight, then I’ll think of an excuse to tell her in the morning.”
“Say…Jacob?” she shyly asked, “would you mind if…we did this again sometime…?”
Jake laughed. “Of course we can,” he said. Chloe smiled; Jake never got tired of seeing her smile. It was the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
