Lilith-the mere mention of that one name was enough to have Milo turning away from the little tete' a tete between Death and the Grand Duke, and crawling on his knees towards the gates of the cemetery.
“Where do you think you’re going?” He heard Gabriel hiss behind him.
Milo didn’t bother to answer. He just kept making slow progress towards the exit.
Suddenly, he found himself stopped by an iron grip on the waist band of his pants. “I can not believe…” A furious Gabriel whispered. “that you’re running away!”
Milo struggled to break free. “I am not running away.” He swatted at the irate angel. “I’m just leaving.”
“Liar!” Gabriel avoided the swat, and glared at him. “You’re running away because you’re a coward.”
Milo stopped struggling and turned back so that he and Gabriel were practically nose to nose again.
“I have no problem with being called a coward.” The demon smirked. “It just so happens that in this case, you’re wrong.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes really.” Milo turned back and started crawling away once again. Gabriel followed him determinedly.
“Then why are you fleeing on your knees, O’ brave one?” The angel drawled sarcastically.
“Because I’m not a fool either.” Milo answered him.
Gabriel tackled him to the ground about a hundred yards from the cemetery gate. “What are you doing?” Milo growled. “Get off me!”
“No!” The angel held firm. “You said so yourself. You are supposed to be here.”
Milo wriggled and squirmed, finally flipping Gabriel over so that he was now on top of the angry angel.
“Look Gabriel!” Milo growled threateningly. “I want no part of this, and you’re wrong anyway!”
Gabriel was pissed to say the least. Not only was he being forced to deal with Milo, but now he was getting filthy. “Bastard!” He kicked and thrashed under the demon. “I am not wrong!”
Milo used the greater bulk of his human form to pin Gabriel underneath him. He grinned as those lovely green eyes went wide with the realization that a hard cock was pressing into his angelic thigh. The demon ground down against his stunned prey.
“Eeep!” Gabriel squeaked just before Milo shoved his tongue into his mouth.
The taste was literally heaven, and the demon took full advantage while he could. He explored every nook and cranny of the sweet mouth as he shifted his body to line his pelvis up with Gabriel’s. Milo almost crowed with delight as he felt the answering hardness of the body beneath his.
“Woohoo!” Loud wolf whistle. “Fuck him into the dirt Milo!”
Milo immediately broke their kiss and sat back on his haunches. Gabriel sat up and they both stared wide eyed at the two beings sitting on a nearby sarcophagus and watching them.
“Don’t let us stop you.” Balthazar chuckled nastily. “It was just getting interesting.”
Azra’il sat beside the Grand Duke looking both disturbed and amused at the show.
Milo stood and scowled at his fellow demon. “Perfect timing as usual Balti.”
Gabriel managed to get to his feet, and stood brushing himself off beside him. There were TWIGS in his hair for fucks sake!
“Some spy you are.” Azra’il grinned at the redhead. “You two made enough noise to wake the dead.”
“Ha ha.” Gabriel glared as he dusted his ass off. “Very funny.”
“They make such a cute couple though…..” Balthazar smirked.
“Why don’t you go back to hell where you belong?” Gabriel snarled at the Duke.
Balthazar’s eyes turned red as a slow smile spread across his face. “Where someone belongs...” He snickered. “That’s funny considering that a few moments ago you apparently belonged underneath a horny demon.”
Gabriel’s face flushed bright pink.
“I was merely explaining to Gabriel that he had the facts wrong.” Milo alleged. “I had to shut him up somehow to get him to listen.”
“Nice silencing technique.” Azra’il remarked.
“Just tell him....” Milo crossed his arms over his chest. “that neither of you are trying to bring Nicodemos Ben Apollyon to power in Hell, or on Earth and we can all go.”
Balthazar smiled. “Neither of us are trying to help Nico in any way, shape, form or fashion.”
Gabriel snorted. “Like I would believe you.”
“Its true.” Azra’il spoke quietly, but firmly. “Neither of us wants anything to do with Nico.”
The redheaded angel regarded Death skeptically. “I swear it in the name of God.” Azra’il sighed. “Happy now?”
Gabriel nodded slowly. He would have never taken the Grand Dukes word for it, but he now knew that Azra’il was telling the truth. Even an angel that had turned traitor would never be foolish enough to swear to a lie in God’s name.
“I’m glad that you’re here though Milo.” Balthazar leered at him. “We should get together soon.... To talk.”
Milo reluctantly nodded. Balthazar was hardly what he would refer to as a friend.
“Very well then.” The Grand Duke rose to his feet. “Later Milo...” He disappeared with a snap of his fingers, leaving the smell of brimstone lingering in the air.
Azra’il glanced back and forth between them. “I must go also. Death waits for no one.” He turned to walk away then stopped. “Careful Gabriel.” He said without turning around. “I would hate to see you get hurt.”
With those cryptic words The Angel of Death disappeared into the night.
Gabriel gawked after Azra’il. What the hell did that mean?
“See....” Milo said smugly from beside him. “I told you, you were wrong.” The demon turned and started walking the short distance to the cemetery gates only to be halted again by a hand on his bicep.
“How did you know though?” Gabriel said, clearly puzzled.
“Because....” Milo sighed long suffering. “I knew that no one, not even Lilith; would back Nico for the throne.”
“But why?” The angel still gripped his arm. “He is her son after all... what made you so sure that she wouldn’t.”
“Lilith has no love for Nico.” Milo laughed. “She looks upon him as an embarrassment.” Eyes as black as midnight swept over the angels fair face. “No Gabriel.. if she... if anyone on either side planned to undermine Lucifer, and take over Hell and Earth; it wouldn’t be Nico they chose as their champion.”
Gabriel looked confused for a moment, then the angels eyes went wide. “Reven.”
“Exactly.” Milo nodded. “Reven Ben Apollyon. If Lilith were to back anyone in a bid for the throne, it would be her baby. Not Nico. Now let go.... I’m leaving”
“What? You cant go!”
“Why not?”
“Because there is no such thing as coincidence, and you know it.” Gabriel insisted stubbornly. “You are obviously meant to help me somehow.”
“What makes you so sure of that?” Milo grinned. “Perhaps I was sent here to introduce you to the pleasures of the flesh, and turn you to the dark side.” The demon wiggled his eyebrows.
“THAT will NEVER happen, that’s why!”
“Ah well then.” Milo shook his head. “Sorry. Not interested.” He turned and nonchalantly resumed his stroll towards the gate.”
“Not interested?!” Gabriel said incredulously. “I’m trying to save the world here!”
“You do that.” Milo sauntered on. “Ill be out raping puppies.”
