Chapter 3

Chapter 3
“So, what’s been going on with you and Marcus?” Robin set in her room with Marty, they were suppose to be studying but, the topic of Marcus some how came up. She had not talked to Marty about the kiss yet. Since that night Marcus had called and visited every second of the day, so much that she had to finally tell him she needed a minute to study. It was not like she was not feeling him; she just needed to keep her grades up also.
“Nothing is going on with us. We are just friends.”
“Yeah right, friends don’t call every time you breathe. Remember this is Marty you are talking to.”
“Ok, I’ll tell you, but promise me you won’t tell anybody else, including Marcus.” If what Robin had to say got back to Marcus she would be in deeper then she thought.
“Ok, cross my heart and hope to die,” Marty said as she came closer to where Robin was sitting on the floor, chemistry book still closed.
“Ok, listen carefully and listen good……”
************
Marcus was having a hard time not calling Robin. He had promised to give her a day to study and he was suppose to be studying too, but he could not get her out of his mind. All he seemed to think about these days was the way she smelled of fresh flowers and the way she did her hair. Sometimes when she was studying she would wear it up in this crazy ponytail with a pencil stuck in it. When she wanted to be free she would where it naturally with millions of curls blowing in the wind. He loved the way she would straighten it whenever they planned to go out together. It seemed he noticed every little detail about her. The way she laughed at his not so funny jokes and then told an even dumber one to make him laugh. He loved the way she made him sit still when ever she felt like the mood to draw him. Most of all he just liked being around her. She was so cool and sweet and caring.
“Hey Marc.” Jason, his roommate, walked in with a couple of guys. They both shared an on campus two bedroom apartment, but it seemed like it was more then two people always there. Jason was on the football team so he always had either girls or some guys over. Marcus wasn’t complaining because Jason was good people. It was hard to find someone that you just click with.
“Hey”
“So, Marc what are you up to?”
“I’m suppose to be studying, and then I might head over to Robin’s.”
“Why don’t you come out with us? It will really be great for you to meet some new people and the party tonight is a great place to start.”
“You know what I’ll meet you guys over there later.”
I had no doubt in my mind that Jason was just trying to get me from going over to Robin’s place. Since the day I started hanging out with her he had made it a point to tell me that she did not belong in our group
“You sure? I could wait for you.”
“Nah go ahead, I’m going to ask Robin if she wants to hang out too, then I’ll meet you guys over there.”
“Fine.”
********
“WHAT???”
“Yep, it’s true.”
“I knew it, I knew it,” Marty danced around the room. Who wouldn’t after they found out what Robin had to say? This was the best news since forever. Marty just had to congratulate herself. Yep, it was all her doing. Those two owned her their lives.
“You Love him. This is the best news ever.”
It was just like Marty to jump ahead of everyone else. Robin never said she loved Marcus. She said that she thought about him all the time and that she could fall in love.
“No I don’t love him. It’s too soon.”
“Whatever, you love him…..now let’s talk about me. You have someone now I need to get out of this room and find someone too. Let’s go partying.”
“I can’t I’m suppose to be studying,” I looked at my unopened Chem. book, “Never mind let’s go out.”
Robin and Marty was so wrapped up in their thoughts that they did not even notice Kevin walking behind them.
