Four years. That’s how long it had been since Seth had seen Cassandra. He had no clue how she or her child was. Seth had chosen total seclusion over having any knowledge of his child. He imagined Cassandra was out in the lake teaching their little one to swim or perhaps in the library reading to the child.--A loud knock on his door interrupted his thoughts. Who could be there, no one knew where he had gone, no one knew of this place. As Seth opened the door his heart stopped. There stood Cassandra holding a young girl. She had raven black hair and piercing violet eyes. The little girl smiled and waved as she held onto her mother's hand.
“You’re hard to find Seth.” Cassandra said softly.
He nodded his head numbly, unsure what to say.
“-Is tha-um-” he stuttered as he looked at the tot on her arm.
Cassandra smiled and nodded her head.
“Her name is Isabella.” she said as she looked at Seth.
His eyes glistening with tears. Seth looked up at Cassandra and his heart sunk, she had found him, did she hate him so much she wanted to torture him with knowledge of their child, was the images of the tot he conjured up not enough torment for him? Cassandra looked up at him and saw the pain in his eyes.
“Are you going to let us in-” she asked softly as she placed a hand on his arm and a soft kiss to his cheek. Seth nodded and stepped aside. Cassandra smiled and knew everything was going to be alright.
