Chapter 27
The Sea Noose
I had dozed off lightly in front of the fireplace with Vitas lying next to me. Cian set my journal on the table, a small scrap of paper marking his spot. He stood from the couch and crouched down next to me, his hand gently brushing my hair away from the side of my face. My eyes blinked open and I stared up at him.
“What?” I yawned. He smiled and sat down next to me, his hand rubbing my back in small circles.
“I just thought I'd tell you that I like what I've gotten through so far. I think it's good.” I yawned again, my back arching slightly like a cat.
“Where are you?”
“Oh, I'm just about twenty or so pages into it.” I smiled softly.
“How many did I write?” he cocked his head to the side for a moment.
“Well, if I remember correctly, then about two hundred pages in your journal are full from what you've written.” I nodded.
“Yeah, I kind of got carried away when I started writing.” he shrugged.
“Well, I'm glad you wrote that much now, because you're not going to get it back until I'm done reading it.” I laughed softly.
“Well, may I at least read the last few pages or so to see where I left off to keep going in another journal? I think the one you're reading is almost full, anyway.” he smiled.
“I'm glad that you're trying to do this, Kassy. I think you'll be able to write something good.” I smiled and turned onto my back, reaching up for him. He stood and grasped my hands and pulled me up. I gave him a kiss on his cheek and wrapped my arms around his neck.
“I think I'm going to go upstairs and try to paint something, ok?” he nodded, his hands resting on my hips.
“I think I'm going to just stay down here and read your journal, see how far I can get.” he leaned forward, our lips meeting between us. His hands wandered to my lower back, pulling my body closer to his. I sighed softly and rubbed my cheek against his, my eyes closed. He kissed my cheek softly, his hands rubbing in small circles on my lower back. I rested my head on his shoulder and smiled against his neck, my body molding into his.
“I thought you said you were going to go paint.”
“I thought you said you were going to go read some more.”
“Touché.” I laughed softly and pressed closer.
“I think you're too comfortable to leave.” he chuckled.
“Really? Well, I think you're too beautiful to leave.” I smiled against his neck again, my cheeks flushing lightly. He sighed softly and held me closer, his arms tightening warmly.
“I love you, Kassy.” I nuzzles his neck softly.
“I love you, too, Cian.” I whispered back. His arms were a nice weight around my hips, a comforting weight that made me feel safe. Something that was foreign to me. I liked it.
I didn't go upstairs and try to paint. Cian and I curled up together on the couch, my head in his lap as he continued to read through what I had written in my journal. The silence between us was comforting The only noises in the room that were merely whispers to my ears was the soft breathing of Vitas in front of the fire, the fire itself slowly burning away and the occasional page that was turned as Cian read.
“Ok, so besides a few common grammatical mistakes a few spelling mistakes, over all, up to... page one hundred and twelve, it's pretty good, Kassy.” I smiled up at him from his lap.
“Are you sure there's only a few mistakes and not millions?” he chuckled softly and smiled down at me.
“Yes, Kassy, I'm sure.” I stretched my arms over my head, careful not to bump my journal from his hands.
“That's good. I thought that for sure that there would have been a million mistakes. I scribbled all of that out pretty quickly, you know.” he nodded as I brought my hands back down to rest on my stomach lightly.
“Yes, I know. I can tell just from the way the words are written out. They look like they were written in a hurry.”
“You can still read it though, right?” he nodded.
“Yes, I'm just taking a break from reading right now, because my eyes are used to reading something that's not on a computer screen. It's making them itchy.” I pouted softly.
“Aw, I'm sorry that my journal is making your eyes all itchy.” he chuckled softly, putting a small scrap of paper in his place and closed my journal, tossing it softly to the table.
“No, it's not your fault. I shouldn't be doing so much work on the computer to where it screws with my eyes so much.”
“You're right. You shouldn't.” I smiled and sat up, turning back around to straddle his lap. His hands found my waist instinctively. I wrapped my arms around his neck and settles myself more firmly onto his lap, my thighs resting against his. He smiled softly and leaned up, pressing his lips against mine gently. My eyes fluttered closed as our tongues started playing with each other sensually and slowly.
He pulled back slightly and our noses rubbed together like an Eskimo kiss. I smiled softly, my eyes half-lidded as they looked into his eyes. He smiled softly and kissed me again, gently.
“What was that for, hm?” I smiled and nuzzled his cheek.
“Can't I just give you a kiss for no reason?” he chuckled softly and sighed contently, his arms tightening around my waist, pulling me closer.
“Well... I guess you can give me a kiss for no reason, though it might be a tad suspicious to do so...” I giggled lightly and kissed his nose.
“Why, don't you want a woman of mystery, Cian?” I did my best to try and look mysterious. He laughed and hid his face in my neck, his shoulder shaking slightly. I pouted.
“What are you laughing at me for?” his arms tightened as he kept laughing, sucking in air between small fits of laughter. I huffed softly, a small amused smile creeping onto my face. I brushed his hair back from his face as he started to clam down a bit.
“Are you done laughing at me, now?” he was still chuckling softly as he nodded and smiled at me.
“I'm sorry I laughed, but you should have seen your face, Kassy. Oh, it was priceless.” I smiled and nodded.
“Yeah, I know. The faces I make always turn out wrong and horribly hilarious to look at.” he snickered softly again.
“I'm sorry I'm laughing... but it was just too funny to look at...” I stuck out my tongue at him and he did it back to me.
“Anyways, I did have a reason for kissing you like I did.” he raised and eyebrow, his thumbs stroking my hips gently.
“Oh, really? And what was that reason, hm, Kassy?” I smiled and stroked his cheek.
“I wanted to thank you for pushing me to start writing.”
“You don't have to thank me, Kassy. I just want you to try new things every now and then.” I shook my head slowly.
“No, I do have to thank you. If it wasn't for you, then I wouldn't have been able to even think about most of the things that I've written down in my journal. Because you pushed me to write, it opened my mind and let me think of things and take all the emotion, and everything else that's been pent up with what I've written, an outlet. It's made me relax more and feel like... like something heavy is just gone and has been lifted from me. And for that, I'm thanking you, because I never would have written anything more if you hadn't pushed me.” I cupped his cheek and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
“Thank you, Cian.” his arms encircled my waist fully and he pulled me as close as I could get to him. I stared into his eyes as he stared into mine.
“You don't have to thank me, Kassy, but you're welcome. I'm happy that you decided to keep writing because I believe that something good is being written here. I think that you have what it takes to write something wonderful. I just wanted you to try and see if you can.” I smiled softly, pressing another kiss to his lips.
“And it's because of that, that you pushed me.” he smiled and kissed me back.
“Yes, I suppose it is, but I still don't want you to thank me for wanting something good for you, Kassy. I love you and I want you to be happy.” my smile grew and I hugged him tightly.
“It makes me so happy every time I hear you say that, Cian.” he hugged me back just as tight.
“I love you, Kassy. Forever and always.” I kissed his neck softly, my body humming against his happily.
“I love you, too, Cian.” I whispered in his ear. His arms tightened around my waist and I closed my eyes, my head resting on his shoulder. I sighed softly as my body relaxed into his, my hand tracing light patterns on his shoulder blade. His hands rubbed my back smoothly, his skin feeling cool against mine after being heated by the fireplace. I pressed forward, my hips pressing down. Cian took a soft breath, his fingernails digging into my back for a moment.
I grinned against his shoulder and pressed down with my hips again, moving them back and forth. His hands clenched against my back again and I leaned back, my hands resting on his shoulders and I continued to move my hips down into him. His hands moved to my hips, trying to keep them still, but the next grind I did made him close his eyes and rest his head on the back of the couch, his hands now just resting on my hips lightly.
“Kassy...” his voice was soft.
“Yes, Cian?” my voice had a small teasing tone to it.
“Please-” he stopped. I raised an eyebrow, slightly amused.
“Please, what, Cian?” he sucked in a deep breath, his fingers tightening around my hips ever so slightly.
“Please, do something.” I smiled and pressed down harder, moving so that more of my weight pressed down against his hardness. He sucked in a sharp breath.
“What do you want me to do, Cian?” I leaned forward, my lips ghosting over his neck.
“I don't... I don't want to push you, Kassy...” I looked up at his face and saw that his eyes were closed tightly. I looked down at his hands on my hips and saw that the muscles in his arms were tense, he was holding back from gripping me too hard. I smiled softly and took his hands into mine. His eyes opened and I gently kissed him.
“You're not pushing anymore, Cian.” his eyes were confused, his hands gripping mine lightly. I took my hands from his and put them on his chest, pushing myself off of his lap and down to the floor. He looked at me, his chest heaving slightly. My fingers slid underneath the top of his cotton pajama bottoms and his hips lifted up to help me slide them over his hips and down his legs, tossing them to the side.
His eyes watched me as I glanced up at him before lowering my head to his thigh, pressing a feather light kiss to his smooth skin. He took a deep breath and spread his legs for me, scooting forward as he did so. I smiled up at him briefly before bending back down and kissing his skin once more. His eyes closed again as he brought his arms up to fold behind his head. My fingers slid underneath the elastic waistband of his black lacy underwear, his hips lifting up again as I pulled them down, tossing them next to his cotton bottoms.
My hand lightly grasped his cock, my other hand moving to rest on his hips. My tongue snaked out and flicked at his tip, his thigh muscles tensing as I did so repeatedly. I sucked the tip of him into my mouth, my tongue laving at his skin. He let out his breath in a soft sigh, sucking in another breath as I sucked more of him into my mouth, my hand gripping the base of his shaft. I kept sucking more of him into my mouth until the tip brushed against the back of my throat. I sucked harder, my hand moving down to stroke the spot behind his balls with the tip of my finger. He gasped and tried desperately not to buck up into my mouth.
“Gods...” his voice was breathy and light. I took a deep breath through my nose and sucked harder, moving my mouth down further, holding back my gag reflex as he pushed against the back of my throat. He moved one of his legs up onto the couch, giving me some extra room. His breathing was fast and uneven. I did my best to suck as hard as I could, swallowing around him.
“God, Kassy...” he gasped. My finger pressed against his skin harder, my nail scratching against the hidden skin. The control he had over his hips broke and his bucked up into my mouth slightly, pushing himself further down my throat. My eyes were closed and I sucked in a deep breath through my nose, my teeth scraping against the underside of his cock lightly. I heard a muffled shout and I would have looked up to see why it sounded muffled, but his climax caught me a little off guard and I had to work to swallow everything.
He was panting harshly when I looked up, wiping a small amount of cum from the corner of my mouth with my hand. He had thrown his arms over his face while I was sucking him off and I figured that's why he yell sounded muffled. He slowly let his arms fall to his sides and he looked down at me. I smiled softly and he smiled back, a satisfied smile that I was responsible for.
“You are amazing, Kassy... just, truly amazing.” I preened at the affection and moved back up to sit on his lap happily. His arms wrapped around my waist easily and he pulled me close, kissing me gently.
“I love you, Kassy.” I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck, my head resting on his shoulder. I sighed softly and closed my eyes.
“I love you, too, Cian.” I pressed a light kiss to his neck and his hands rubbed my back gently. He breathed softly against my hair and a small shiver ran down my spine. We both took a deep breath, our chests pressing against each other as we did so. I breath came out in a huff against his neck, his exhaling breath moving stray strands of my hair. I smiled softly and pressed closer, letting my body relax on top of his.
“I think I could fall asleep right here.” he chuckled softly.
“Me too, Kassy, but I know that if we do we'll both be complaining in the morning that something hurts. I think we should do the smart thing and get up and go to bed in the bed instead of here on the couch.”
“Do we have to do the smart thing?” I whined softly into his neck. He sighed, rubbing my sides.
“Yes, Kassy, we have to do the smart thing. At least, for now we have to do the smart thing. Some other time we don't have to do the smart thing, all right?” I nodded an leaned back, reluctantly standing up.
“Fine, but I'm holding you to that promise, mister.” he smiled and slowly scooted forward, leaning down to pick up the discarded lacy underwear and he slipped them on before standing up next to me.
“I would expect nothing less, Kassy.” I smiled and kissed his cheek.
“You're not going to put on your pajama pants?” he shook his head.
“No, I'm comfortable like this and I don't want to move anymore than I have to.” I laughed and grabbed his hand, twining our fingers together. He smiled down at me and let me lead the way to the bedroom, softly closing the door behind us. I pulled off my sports bra and rubbed my skin for a moment, the small sting of being freed from the elastic band annoying me. I smiled when I felt Cian's hand rub my back where there was a small red line from the elastic band, soothing my skin.
“Thank you, Cian.” I turned around and gave him a soft kiss, his hands resting on my hips. I sighed and turned towards the bed.
“How much do you want to bet the sheets are going to be freezing like hell?” he chuckled.
“Kassy, if it's cold, you can't compare it to hell because hell is no where near cold.” turned my head and stuck out my tongue.
“If I want to compare the same sheets to hell then I will.” he chuckled again and kissed my cheek, walking past me to slip underneath the covers. I eyed him suspiciously for a moment before I followed him, small goosebumps crawling up my skin. I shivered and pressed against Cian, curling around his side, my head resting on his chest as he wrapped his arms around me.
“Cold?”
“Shut up.” he chuckled richly, his chest humming softly beneath my ear. I closed my eyes and sighed softly, a small yawn escaping from my mouth.
“Good night, Cian.”
“Good night, Kassy. Sweet dreams.” his voice was soft and gently, his whispered words of sweet dreams rang in my ears as I fell asleep.
