Mint tea
Essuan sent Rel the same stuff she gave to Mik. Remember how lulled to sleep Mik was? Yeah... Now see what happens to Rel. All will be explained. In... time, sure, but waiting is the best part about information. Or... something like that. My Tuesday/Wednesday things just got a lot worse. So. I don't know if I'll updated Wednesday at all. As... I leave early Tuesday morning, get back around midnight and then have to get up for work less than seven hours later. I'm goanna be tired... but it's only for a month. At least. Whoo. Read, Review and enjoy.Rel thought he was sore the first day. After sleeping in the bed for the night, he woke to find Mm still by his side, wide awake. The food cart was by the door. And Rel had to piss. Badly. So he groaned and sat up, only to regret it as the lancing pain shot up his ass. Mm whimpered and offered Rel a hand up, which the man took only to be polite. Only to have his legs give out from under him. Mm caught Rel before the man hit the floor and eased him to his feet. The Sidhe obviously knew what Rel needed without asking, as he helped Rel across the room and to the bathroom. Mm left Rel at the door and turned his back, obviously waiting for Rel to do his business. Rel relieved himself, washed his hands and looked at himself in the mirror. He looked thinner than he had been when he had entered the program. Despite eating everything on his plate, and recently some of what was on Mm’s, he was still thin as could be. That was weird. Like. A medical condition or something. Diabetes? No. There would be other signs. Unfortunately unexplained weight loss was the symptom of too many things. And he was showing no other symptoms. Rel made it back to the door on his own, his legs screaming in protest the entire way. He didn’t understand why they hurt, they hadn’t done anything except lay there! Maybe it just stemmed from the pain in his ass. It was all he could come up with. Mm picked him up at the door, up and off the floor like he was the lightest thing in the world, and took him back to the bed. Atop the blankets he was set, gentle as could be, and Mm then inspected him. A touch to the forehead, to the throat, gentle pokes to the arms and stomach. Lower in Rel’s gut hurt when Mm poked him, and he grunted at the pain. Mm was not pleased with this. The legs made Rel wince but nothing more. Mm was seriously upset about the night before. Upset that Rel was hurt in the process and likely kicking himself for taking Rel’s offer. Kind of like how Rel was kicking himself for offering. Of course Sidhe weren’t like people but… he hadn’t exactly had proper training. Mm made a drinking motion. Rel frowned as the Sidhe mimed his way through some sort of drink with the crushed something into a cup and then pouring liquid over…“Tea?”Mm shrugged, the Sidhe didn’t know the people word for it, he knew what he wanted Rel to have but could only hope that Rel got it right. “What kind of tea?” was there really another drink that involved something dry added to the cup before hand? That a Sidhe would know about? Mm considered for a long time and then went to the bathroom and returned with Rel’s toothpaste. Rel frowned at it as Mm opened the tube and gave it a sniff, then pointed at the opening. “Peppermint.” good for digestion and made Rel sleepy, it was something that back when he had been free and living on his own, he had indulged in as a comfort food. His wife couldn’t stand…. Hadn’t liked the smell of the mint and made him throw it all out. Mm shrugged once more and looked at the tube, “doodpasht.”Had it been any people from another country saying that? Rel would have dismissed it as coincidence. Considering Mm’s experience with people? He had to go with the other option, the Sidhe could read. Read poorly, and not really understand most of what he read, but Mm could read.“Toothpaste,” Rel made a motion of brushing his teeth. “Tooth?” Mm tapped one of the few teeth he had left.Rel nodded. Mm grinned and then seemed to recall what he had been saying. The Sidhe motioned something bitter and Rel could only shrug, not knowing what Mm wanted. Mm gave up with a sigh and returned the toothpaste back to the bathroom. Coming back into the living area, Mm grabbed the food cart and pushed it to Rel. The Sidhe seemed delighted that the cart was on wheels but didn’t play with it or inspect it in any way. Just delivered it to Rel and sat on the edge of the bed. Rel took the live off of his dish and found a note as well as teabags, a plug in kettle and two mugs. Mm immediately snatched up a bag of tea and sniffed it. The Sidhe grinned at the teabag and stuck the entire bag in his mouth, gumming away at it. Rel pointed to the kettle and picked up the end that plugged into the wall. Through motions, he managed to tell Mm how to work the kettle. The Sidhe went off to boil water, teabag still in his mouth, as Rel opened the note. Cultural differences! You can say no to sex.Now they tell him.We strongly suggest that unless YOU want sex, you say no. No duh. Essuan has prepared a tea for you and the Sidhe. She says it will help him digest and help you recover quicker. Warning: Ginger and mint can make a Sidhe sleepy, some bags have mint, some have ginger, do not let him have both teas in quick succession. Rel glanced at the teabags and thought he could tell the difference. The ginger ones had little shavings of whitish stuff in them, the shavings being the ginger itself.Drink a cup whenever the first cup seems to wear off, drink first the mint, then the ginger, then the mint and so on. Your supply will be replenished as needed. And then at the bottom of the piece of paper, hastily scrawled there. He may or may not be better. His hurting you has made him revert to a stable state. Until you are healed, he will be stable. After that, we don’t know. Be careful.Rel looked up at Mm as the Sidhe sat back down on the bed with a kettle of freshly boiled water. Mm took one of the teacups and spat his teabag into it. Mint, then, if the small glance that Rel had was correct. Mm poured the hot water over the teabag and handed the cup to Rel. The man grimaced, obviously, at the spit soaked teabag, but when Mm said something that was obviously an order, he took the cup. He looked down at the tea and wondered if the boiled water was enough to kill off bacteria. Then again…He’d already had unprotected sex with Mm. What more bacteria could he really get? Maybe Mm thought it would make Rel better. It might salve Mm’s wounded pride. Or. Whatever it was that was wounded in Mm. So they sat and drank tea. Mm seemingly enjoying the second bag of tea, this one steeped in water, as he had the first. When the tea was drained from both their mugs, Mm poured water down over the used teabags and uncovered the larger platter. Food for both of them. Mm picked out the choicest morsels, sniffing this and that soft fruit, and gave them to Rel. Rel ate only because he was being watched. Mm didn’t make the man eat more than was necessary, and saved a good deal of food for himself. When the food was gone, Rel reached for his mug of tea and winced at the sharp pain. Obviously eating had put pressure on …He grit his teeth as the pain snapped to life. Mm glanced at Rel and very casually moved the food cart, and what Rel was reaching for, away. The Sidhe moved to push Rel onto his side and the man resisted. The pain was so much that he couldn’t quite get his body to work, it burned in his lower back and down his legs. “Shh,” Mm pushed Rel steadily down, moving the man onto his side. The Sidhe slid in behind Rel, between Rel and the wall again, and wrapped an arm around Rel’s middle. Rel’s hands trembled against the bedspread. What the hell was happening to him? Mm had drank the same tea. But Sidhe were said to be able to eat things that were poisonous to people. And Essuan had made it for them. Didn’t anyone check what she put in her little herbal remedies? She could seriously hurt someone. Rel gasped in a breath, forcing air into his pained body. Forcing awareness into his throbbing form. Everything was on fire. But amongst the fire he heard a voice singing a quiet lullaby. There was a hand in his, his fingers digging into the palm of Mm’s hand, holding on for dear life. Holding onto himself. He didn’t want to go. But he’d be back… almost puzzled, the thought wavered at the edge of Rel’s mind. Like Mohnoa’s voice in Rel’s most desperate times, breaking through reality to remind him of his other existence. But this wasn’t Mohnoa’s voice, wasn’t his adoptive, imaginary mother come to sooth his aches. No, no, he wouldn’t be back.Never again. Go away. Just try to force…Who the hell …? Rel focused his attention on the strange voice and in that startling instant he completely lost himself, tumbling into the darkness that was his mind. .
