chapter 25
Okay so lil authors note here, chapters will probably be much shorter but this is because I'm using my phone to post since I don't have access to a computer. I know its been a while but I know where this story goes so it shouldn't change much.
----------------------
Josie went through the motions the rest of the day, only today she didn't seem to have any friends. After class she got on the bus once again but today Brian didn't sit next to her. Even though she expected it, it still hurt. The whole ride she just looked out the window thinking what she could do, what she could say to make things okay. She then started scolding herself. It was obvious from the beginning that he wasn't looking for anything serious and the way things had ended the day before she knew she'd ruined it. If he believed her a virgin before he probably didn't now. Before she knew it they had arrived and everyone was shuffling off the bus. She followed a few steps behind, moving on autopilot while thinking there was no possible way she could pass.
-------------
Both tests, Josie had finished quickly and went outside to wait for Brian. She didn't know what to say yet but she knew this would be the place to try. They wouldn't be surrounded by gossips and so called friends, here it would just be them. Unfortunately, Brian didn't come out early from either of the tests, so there was no alone time between them. The ride back was much the same as the ride there, only dark. Back on center they were allowed a cigarette before going into the dorms, there, Josie took her chance and sat down on his bench. He of course sat down on hers.
"Brian, I'm sorry, I just didn't know what to do." She began.
"So you fucking told everyone? Fuck you Josie. I thought we were going to be mature and keep it between us but you couldn't do that could you?" He asked, not really wanting an answer.
"Brian I didn't tell anyone."
"Just stop Josie. I'm done. Just forget it, forget everything. We were both stressed from the tests and we did things we shouldn't have. It doesn't excuse you telling everyone but it was a mistake." He threw his butt on the ground and strode off towards the dorms.
------------
"GOOD MORNING LADIES!"
Josie jumped out of bed and immediately began her daily routine. Jackie had stayed with lisa yet again so she had the room to herself. She rushed through her hair and makeup and had to prevent herself from running to the smoking section. She had to try to talk to brian again she had to clear the air. Walking to her bench like it was just a normal day she lit a cigarette and sat down. She looked to the bench across from her but Brian wasn't there. She put out her cigarette and went down to the cafeteria but he wasn't there either. Josie gave up, got her coffee and sat down to enjoy the peace and quiet. After her coffee Josie went back up the hill to smoke a cigarette and wait for Brian. As time passed more and more people came out of the dorms but Brian was no where in sight. When the bell rang Josie went to class, hoping she would have another shot at lunch.
----------
"She is cute, I'll give you that, but she might end up being too much work, you know?" Jerome said.
"What? Like commitment and romance and everything that goes with a relationship?"
"Yeah man, she ain't gonna let anyone hit it and quit it, and she doesn't have to, not with Brian being so overprotective of her."
"Brian won't really be much of a problem anymore."
----------
Of course, she looked everywhere during lunch. He wasn't in class, on the hill or in the cafeteria. Josie had ran out of time. After class she would be leaving for the weekend and what then? Let time drive a wedge even further between them? She didn't really have a choice though. Sure, she had tried her best to talk to him last night and spent every free minute of today looking for him but it still made her feel defeated.
