Divine Intervention
“Oh gods what hit me?”
Kaire woke to find her self on a strange couch in an even stranger home. Lucian ‘borrowed’ someone’s home. His excuse was that it didn’t look like anyone was home anyways.
“I believe the answer to that is an entire herd of horses love.” Lucian chuckled. “Besides that, are you feeling alright?”
“Yeah.” Kaire pushed her self up slowly. Her eyes paused on Lucian as if recollecting something. She gasped and suddenly pounced him with renewed strength. “You’re alive!”
The two fell back onto the floor. Kaire was hugging him tightly and kissing him. Lucian had not expected her to attack him like this but he didn’t mind it at all. Serenity and Silvan were in an opposite room trying to get a little rest after being healed. That battle was mentally and physically exhausting for both of them.
Serenity awoke from her little cat nap panting hard. Both of her hands were pulling up at the material of the cloak she was laying on. Silvan, who required the most healing, sat up beside her. She felt the comforting grip of his hands on her shoulders. He massaged gently to try and calm her.
“What’s wrong love?”
“I...” Serenity took deep, slow breaths now. “I had a dream.”
“Calm down first.” Silvan didn’t want her so tense that she hurt the babies inside her. It wasn’t good for her to be out here in the first place but she was not going to let him try and fight alone. Luckily the pregnancy wasn’t hurt during the last battle. Lucian confirmed that both of the babies were okay. “That’s it. Deep breaths. Now exhale slowly.”
“I had a dream about the staff.” Serenity turned so she was facing him. “I was surrounded by nothing but black, empty space. I heard foot steps in the distance. When I looked up there was a blonde haired man standing in front of me. He had on all white robes.” Serenity looked down. “He called him self Gabrielle and he told me that the enemy who held the staff was inside the Vatican. He called that enemy the scourge of man kind.”
“That doesn’t sound too pleasant does it.” Silvan blinked. “Did he tell you what the staff looked like?”
“No he didn’t show me what the staff looked like but he did tell me that I will meet someone inside that will help us find the staff.”
She trembled and hugged her self. Serenity seemed very uncomfortable knowing this information. Silvan shhd and pulled her close. He brushed his hands over her arms and down over her elbows softly. Serenity hugged him. She needed his comfort right now.
“Love was the information really this disturbing?” Silvan brushed a hand over her cheek. “You’re as white as a ghost right now.”
“I’m afraid so.” Serenity pulled her self away from him. “We should go get Lucian and Kaire.”
“Serenity. Tell me who it is.” Silvan held her and didn’t let go. “Please?”
“I don’t know who it is!” All the color from her cheeks paled nearly complete white. Serenity didn’t think the prospect of going into the Vatican alone was too promising for her. “We need to get going for the staff.”
“Love? You seem to forget that we don’t know a way in without attracting another one of those things. The first one was hard enough to get rid of.” Silvan followed her. “We need to think of another way.”
“I know another way.” She bit her bottom lip. “Gabrielle told me how to enter.”
“How?” Silvan caught up to her. “How do we go inside without alerting one of those things or without alerting who ever and making them summon one?”
“Actually I was told that it was Lucian’s fault the creature came anyways. Well it was his and Kaire’s.” Serenity looked over at Silvan. “You remember that explanation that we thought we wanted from Lucian, Yes?”
“We don’t want one.” Serenity shook her head. “It is best just to let him do his thing in this case and not ask too many questions.”
“Love?” Silvan found this a little disturbing. “I don’t find that news comforting.”
“Trust me, neither do I.”
Serenity pulled him along into the other room where Kaire and Lucian were. Silvan sighed at the lack of information on everything. Kaire smiled to them as they entered. Lucian gave them each a friendly nod.
“Feeling better?” Lucian asked quietly. “Get enough sleep?”
“Yes thank you.” Serenity looked from Him to Kaire. “How are you doing?”
“I’m fine now. I had a strange dream though. I’m not sure if it is good or bad” Kaire had the same dream as Serenity. “There was a man who appeared, Every time he tried to say his name his image went fuzzy and I couldn’t hear him, so I don’t know who it was. He said I wasn’t ready to hear it when he fizzled back in.”
“Blonde hair and blue eyes?” Serenity rushed forward to sit beside Kaire. “Wearing all white?”
“Yes!” kaire gasped. “You had it too?”
Both men raised their brows. They suddenly felt left out of this conversation. Even Lucian, who knew what was going on, cleared his throat. Silvan smirked actually. For once, Lucian seemed to not be on top of things.
“We need to go.” Serenity finally spoke up. “Lucian, Kaire and Silvan.” She looked up at them. “I’m afraid you all must wait outside. I need to enter alone.”
“Oh no! I am not letting you go in there alone.” Silvan didn’t like that one bit. No she could forget that. “No way and no again.”
“Love I have to.” Serenity was trying to get all of them moving for the doors at the same time as they talked now. “If I go in alone and you stay outside, he won’t be able to pin point just me.”
“I am assuming you know who he is?” Lucian looked at her. “Or are we all still clueless?”
“No I don’t. We will find out soon enough won’t we?” Serenity scolded Lucian. “ Unless you happen to know. If so, Out with it if not just come on. We can discuss all of this after we get the staff.” Serenity sighed. “Okay everyone?”
“Fine.” Kaire shrugged. “You could ease up a little you know. You’re being moody and snappy right now.”
“Come on.” Serenity didn’t want to talk about it anymore. She was already on edge and about to lose her nerve. “We need to get this done.”
The three followed her up until she told them to stop. Serenity lead them to a small spot just in view of the Vatican. It was far enough away to keep holy alarms from going off because of demon presence and yet close enough that she could come running and screaming for her life to them for help if she needed it. Silvan still didn’t like this idea.
“Be careful my love.” He kissed her very deeply. Silvan actually feared for her life right now. “Just be really careful.”
“I will.” She whispered. Serenity looked even more pale now. She pulled away from all of them and began to walk slowly towards the ominous doors of the Vatican. “I love you Silvan.”
Kaire had to pull Silvan back. He looked on edge right now. He was watching his wife walk off alone into a building where this person, described as the scourge of man kind, was. Lucian looked up at the sky and nodded. Soon he would meet his brother again. Soon the battle for all of man kind would begin and soon his curse would be over.
“Should I be worried for her?”
Silvan was but he asked anyways. Kaire nodded quietly. She was even worried for the woman, even if they did bicker. Lucian nodded in response to his question.
“Great. Make me feel better about this by dong that.” Silvan sighed. “You could have lied to me or something.”
“That would be stupid to do.” Lucian added. “Because this threat is very real and the danger is real.”
“She said that person in her dream told her what to do. I really hope he gave her sane advice.” Silvan started to pace. “Because I don’t know who Gabrielle is but um yeah.”
“Gabrielle?”
Both Lucian and Kaire said this as they interrupted him. Kaire couldn’t hear the name when Gabrielle tried to say it in her dream. Lucian actually smiled at this bit of information. Silvan blinked at them and nodded. That was the name she told him.
“She will make it and she will be safe.”
Lucian stated it simply and looked forward now. Kaire nodded too because when the right hand of god told you something, they didn’t lie.
He looked to the Vatican. Serenity had already disappeared inside. “Be safe my love.” Silvan whispered. “Please be safe.”

A/n: I know. It is a shorter chapter. I still hope you all like it. The ending to this story is just a couple chapters away and that one will be a really long chapter. It will probably take me a little to write it. I know you all can be patient with me while it gets done!
I hope you enjoy this chapter! Please read and Review. Thanks also for sticking with me this far.
