Chapter 23

It didn't take long before the plan landed in Idaho. He was surprised at how fast things went. Focasing himself on Tobius really helped alot. Tobius helpped Aleron off the plane and was directed to the nearest hospital. Once inside he walked over to the nurses station. "Excuse me ma'am Im looking for Dali Morewood."

The nurse types in the name and nods. "And you are?"

Tobius sighs. "Im her Father Tobius Stross."

She nods. "Room 427 4th floor down the hall to the end." He nods and walks to the elevator. Aleron followed Tobius to the room they were directed to. Thankfully arriving without any trouble. The door was propped open. The bed was agginst one of the walls, and in perfect veiw of the television.

Tobius opens the door seeing Dali sitting in a big bed with hundreds of tiny teddy bears surrounding her. But Mr. Fuzzles was laying in her uncasted arm. She looks over and gasps. "Papa!"

Tobius moves over fast sitting by her hugging her being careful of her arm. "Oh sweety... are you alright?"

Dali smiles brightly. "Im fine papa. My arm is just broken." She looks up at him. "Where's mama?" Aleron bit his bottom lip as he walked into the room after Tobius. How would they explain to a three year old her mother was dead now?

Tobius sits up and looks down at Dali. "Sweetheart... do you know how you broke your arm?"

Dali blinks rapidly. "A car hit mama's car really really hard. The man in white told me mama got hurt really bad."

Tobius gulps slightly. "Mama... did get hurt bad... so bad that she didn't make it."

Dali looks up at her papa in confusion. "Mama didn't make it? Like out of the car?"

Tobius lowers his head. "Mama isn't alive... she is in heaven now."

Dali looks at her papa's face still not completely understanding but seeing the sadness on papa's face made her upset. "Mama's not coming back?"

Tobius shakes his head. "No... she's not. But she will always be with you..." He gently puts his hand to her chest. "Right here... in your heart." Dali felt big tears fall out of her eyes and she wrapped her arms around Tobius's arm. Aleron sniffled and took a tissue that was near by. Dabbing his eyes as he offered the box to both Dali and Tobius. Tobius takes the box and gently takes a tissue wiping Dali's eyes. "Your going to come and live with me and Aleron."

Dali sniffs slightly and nods. "Your not going to go away are you?"

Tobius smiles and kisses the top of her head. "No im going to be there when you grow into a teenager and wished i would stay out of your life when i embarress you."

Dali giggles. "I could never want that! Your my papa!"

Tobius looks at Aleron. "And Aleron will be your mother."

Dali looks up at Aleron and smiles a toothy smile. "He's my papa-mama." Dali smiles brightly holding out her free hand to him. She wanted a hug from him. Aleron smiled and gave Dali a hug, also wrapping his arm around Tobius's so it was one big group hug.

Tobius hugged them both as Dali let out a big yawn. "Ahhh your tired aren't you Dali?" Dali nods. "Well why dont you take a nap and im going to see the docter." He looks at Aleron. "Can you lay with her until i get back?"

Aleron smiled at Tobius and nodded. "Of course." He slowly slipped next to Dali on the bed. Wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Dali snuggles into him resting her cast on Alerons side. She buried her face into his chest. Tobius smiled and walked out of the room. He found the docter and was told that Dali's arm was broken in two places and would have to wear the cast for atleast 3 monthes maybe more depending on how it healed. Katrine was killed on impact. She wasn't drunk but simply ran a red light. Tobius knew what had been going through Katrine's mind. She wanted to die... even though it could have cost Dali her life. He was angry but also he felt guilty. He didn't want to say he was wrong about her because he knew he wasn't but he couldn't help feeling like this was his fault. Aleron gently stroked Dali's hair as he watched her sleep.

Tobius sighs softly then is told that Dali can be checked out that night. He nods before walking back into the room. "She can be checked out tonight."

Aleron looked up at Tobius and nodded. "Alright. We gonna leave after she's had her nap?"

Tobius nods as he sits on the other side of her looking at her angelic face. "Katrine wanted to die. She ran through a red light." He pushes a strand of hair out of Dali's face. "She would have taken Dali with her."

Aleron gasped softly and whispered so not to disturb Dali. "How could she do that with Dali in the car?"

Tobius lowers his head slightly. "Guilt... it ate her up inside for years. I caused that guilt. I dont think she realized what she was doing when she ran that red light."

Aleron sighed softly as his ears drooped. He stroked Dali's hair back. "I'm glad Dali's alright atleast."

Tobius nods and looks at her. "Now we are going to be her family."

Aleron nodded. "It'll be okay. I think she's happy to finally get to stay with you instead of just seeing you over webcam."

Tobius smiles and kisses Aleron's cheek before getting up. "You want something to eat?"

Aleron smiled. "Please. I'd love that. Any sort of sandwich would be great."

Tobius nods walking out of the room. Dali whimpers moving closer to him. She smiles softly before relaxing again. Tobius came back with three sandwiches. "There is a soda machine right around the corner. I can get one for us if you want."

Aleron nodded. "Maybe later. Thanks." He took one of the sandwiches and set it aside for Dali. Eatting one of the others.

Tobius sits in one of the chairs as he unwraps his sandwich. "Ok..." Aleron drifted in and out of sleep as he watched the televison. The hours flew by before Dali finally awakened. Dali whimpers and went to rub her eye but hit herself in the face with her cast. She gasped and started to cry, Tobius is instantly by her side kissing her head. "Hey hey honey its ok."

Aleron snapped awake and looked over at Dali crying. "What happened?"

"She hit herself in the face with her cast."

Dali whimpered as she buried her face into Tobius's chest. "It hurt!"

"Awwwww!" Aleron gently rubbed her back. "Maybe if your papa kissed the boo-boo it'll feel better?"

Tobius smiles and kisses the spot making Dali sniff and smiles slightly. "Thanks Papa-Mama. Thanks Papa."

Aleron smiled and gave Dali a kiss on the cheek before taking her her cast and looking at it. "Maybe we should put something soft around it, like a pillow, so that doesn't happen anymore."

Tobius looks around. "We can find something. Im going to check you out of here alright Dali."

Dali nods fast. "I will stay here with Papa-Mama."

Aleron nodded. "You and me can come up with more ideas on how to make your cast soft." He smiled at Dali.

Dali thinks for a second then gasps and holds up Mr Fuzzles. "Mr Fuzzles can do it!"

Tobius blinks. "What do you mean?"

Dali takes Mr Fuzzles hands and tie them around her cast. "Like that!"

Tobius smiles brightly. "Your very smart Dali."

"Wow." Aleron clapped his hands. "Very good, Dali! That's a very, very good idea!" Dali giggles and makes Mr Fuzzles jump. Tobius smiles and walks out.

Dali looks up at Aleron leaning against him. "Are papa and you going to live here?"

He gently stroked Dali's hair. "We're going back to were Papa lives."

Dali nods and leans against him. "I have never been to Ohio."

Aleron played with one of her curled locks of hair. "I think you'll like it. It's alot like Idaho. It's really green, and the people are really nice, and there are alot of lakes and parks. There are alot of differnt kind of animals too."

She smiles snuggling against him. "Sounds like fun."

He nodded and snuggled her back gently rubbing her back. "Have you ever been fishing before?"

Dali shakes her head. "Mama said that girls don't fish. It's a boy thing."

"Hmmm. Would you like to go fishing? It can be a girls thing too if you're interested." Aleron smiles at her.

Dali bites her lip then smiles. "I would like that!"

"Hehe. Okay. Once we get you all settled in your room, maybe you, me and papa can go fishing." Dali giggles and nods fast.

Tobius comes in smiling. "Ok sweety the docter said we can take you home now. But we have to get some of your stuff ok."

Dali nods as she holds her hands up to Aleron. "Up up!"

Aleron giggled and gently picked her up. Propping her on the crook of his arm, being careful of her cast. Dali holds onto Aleron as Tobius grabs the clothes from the accident. They take a taxi to Katrine's home. Tobius steps inside as Dali still holds onto Aleron in the hospital gown. Aleron stood in the door frame and looked at Dali, not sure how she'd feel about going back into the the place where her mother's memory lingered. "Do you want to go in? Or would you like to stay out here?"

Dali looks at him then looked down. "Mama's not in there is she?"

Aleron's ears drooped as he shook his head. "No, sweetie..."

Dali sniffed slightly and nods. "I want to get my stuff." Tobius was already going through Katrine's papers for doucuments on Dali.

Aleron nodded. "Okay, honey. You wanna show me where your room is?" He walked into the entrince.

Dali points to a door with flowers on it. "Over there." Aleron smiled and opened the door, still holding her in his arms. The room was small with a tiny bed with the Disney Princess bedspread on it. There were dolls, stuffed animals, and toys around the room with a closet full of clothes.

Aleron gently set Dali down on her bed before looking around her room. "Wow, you have alot of nice stuff, Dali."

Dali smiles and gets up grabbing a lifesize barbie doll. "This is Barbie. We play tea party together."

Aleron giggled and smiled. "Wow. She's very pretty. Does she make the tea or you?"

Dali giggles. "I make it!"

She smiles as Tobius comes into the room. "Hey sweety. Can you pack up your clothes for me?"

Dali looks up and nods. "Are they going with us to Ohio?"

Tobius nods. "Yep."

Dali jumps up and down clapping. "Yay!"

Aleron giggled. "Do you want me to help you Dali?"

Dali smiles brightly running to her closet. "Please!"

Aleron giggled and walked over to Dali's closet. Opening the door to see a variety of differnt dresses and clothing. Tobius brings in a large bag and sits it down opening it up. Dali grabs a step stool and pulls down some of her dresses and folds them before putting them in the bag. Aleron went to the otherside of the closet and started taking out clothes too, folding them up and puting them in the bag. They were so tiny! They practicly disapeared when they were folded. Dali helps out as much as she can since she is short. She picks up her shoes and puts them into the bag as well. Tobius sits on the bed and watches them. His heart warmed at the sight of his lover interacting with his daughter. He was happy to see it. Once they had finished, Aleron patted Dali on the head and praised her. "Good job, Dali!"

Dali jumps up and down. "Yay! I need to get dressed!" She reaches into the bag and pulls out a pink dress with a frilly sleeves. She looks at them. "Out with boys!"

Tobius stands up. "Ok ok." He holds out his hand to Aleron. "Shall we?"

Aleron smiled as he took Tobius's hand. "Alright." They walked out of the room and closed the door behind them. Tobius pulls Aleron to the living room where he quickly kisses him. Aleron let out a squeak, but soon kissed him back. Running his fingers threw his hair. Tobius purrs deeply running his fingers through Aleron's hair. He held Aleron's body close to his. Aleron purred into the kiss as he let his body melt into Tobius's. Slipping his tongue into his mouth. Tobius sucks on his tongue as a soft giggle is heard.

Tobius broke the kiss looking over seeing Dali giggling. "Papa is kissing Papa-Mama!"

Aleron blushed horribly as he looked at Dali. After a few seconds he giggled. "Looks like we got caught."

Dali giggles and runs over hugging their legs. "Yes you have!"

Aleron giggled more and picked up Dali. "You sneaky little thing!"

Dali giggles as Tobius pulls Aleron close so Dali was stuff between them. "We will have everything else mailed here by the land lord." He kisses her temple.

Aleron giggled more and hugged Tobius. "That's good. That way you don't have to leave any of your toys behind."

Dali giggles. "Yay!"

She hugs them both making Tobius chuckle. "Well we need to get going if we want to make our flight."

Dali looks up fast. "We are flying? Like taking a plane?" Tobius nods as Dali's eyes go wide and she latches onto Aleron. "I dont want to fly!"

"Awwww..." Aleron held Dali and bit his lip. He knew how she felt so he couldn't really blame her.

Tobius blinks then sighs heavily. "We dont have any other way to get there."

"It'll be okay, Dali. Me and papa will hold your hand your hand while we're flying." Aleron stroked her hair.

Dali looks at him with big eyes before slowly nodding. She holds onto him tight. "Ok Papa-Mama..."

Tobius smiles. "Let's go."

Aleron held onto Dali tight and rubbed her back. "It'll be okay, Dali. I'm scared of flying too." Dali tightens her hold on him before Tobius leads them towards the air port.
