For Comfort

Again short, darn it.

I try for long and I get short. I don't understand.

All I could think, for the past hour or so... was Rel sex. Which is weird. But... okay.

Read, Review and enjoy.

Rel didn’t sleep until the next night. And when he woke, Mm was up, sitting up in the bed and eyeing the food cart, but not trying to go for the food. Rel had forgotten. Mm stayed in his sleeping place until Rel got up.

The man groaned and sat up. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and looked at Mm as his blood pounded in his ears, “weird. You should be out for another day.”

He stood, with a bit of trouble, and wobbled his way to the cart. Atop the covered bowl was a piece of paper. Rel opened it and read the scrawled writing.

You’ve slept for over a day. Feeling okay?

Rel made a grunting sound at the back of his throat as his stomach growled. He tossed the note over his shoulder and looked at Mm, making a beckoning motion. If he was hungry, Mm would be ravenous. He took the cover off of the bowl and breathed in the smell of the hearty stew beneath it. He set into the stew, taking several bites before looking to Mm.

The Sidhe looked mildly confused, clutching the side of the bed as he looked from his legs to Rel.

Rel swallowed the bite of stew that he had in his mouth and pondered the side effects that he could recall. Really, there were none, but then, a fatigued body couldn’t function properly and the legs were often the first to break down. The possibility of that being the reason why Mm didn’t get up, made Rel push the cart of food to the Sidhe.

Mm looked at the food and up at Rel as if asking if he was really allowed to eat.

“Yes, eat,” Rel muttered, motioning to Mm, “eat as much as you can, I’m sure they’ll send us more straight away if we ask nicely for it. Considering how long you were asleep.”

Mm immediately began stuffing his face. This was not the quiet nibbling of days previous, but a gorging of food. Rel set an example by eating slowly and being certain that he chewed every bite. After eating a quarter of the food on the table, Mm slowed down and began eating slower. When the cart was empty, Rel was full, but Mm looked hardly satisfied. The Sidhe moved to pick something out of his teeth. Showing off two buds of teeth even as he popped one out by accident.

The tooth skittered across the food cart and came to rest by Rel. Mm sighed as it did so and spat into the palm of his hand, once, twice, three times. He grimaced and dropped the bloodied teeth into the empty stew bowl.

Rel looked at the teeth and made a face.

“Mm, go,” Rel opened his mouth and showed off his teeth.

Mm imitated Rel. There were gapes everywhere, but less than half of the teeth were gone. Of those that were gone, only two were growing back in. A canine sat crookedly in Mm’s mouth and Rel reached over and tapped the canine, causing it to fall out of Mm’s mouth.

“Damn,” Rel muttered as Mm moved to catch the tooth.

That one was deposited with the other three in the bowl.

Mm turned his attention to scratching his neck. Rel rolled the cart to the little cubby door and pushed it right against the door. He waited patiently as the door was opened, the cart pulled out and replaced by another, more laden cart. This he rolled to the bed before sitting beside Mm.

The cart was filled with softer foods of varying colours and differing of mineral content. Chicken and cheeses and soft fruits, boiled tubers mixed together and mashed. Peas, shelled but not cooked, as well as a small pitcher of milk. Mm drooled over the cart before sampling a beginning his second meal by sampling a little of everything. The milk was last. Mm grinned over the stuff and downed the entire pitcher before emptying the cart the second time.

Finally the Sidhe laid back, hands resting on his bulging belly contently. Rel smiled slightly and Mm and reached out, patting the Sidhe’s belly experimentally. Mm was surprised by it and batted Rel’s hand away only to press his own hands against his belly a moment later. Mm carefully and thoroughly prodded himself and seemed delighted by what he found.

Mm babbled in Sidhe and giggled, bending towards and around Rel’s sitting form. The Sidhe’s head came to be pressed into Rel’s left thigh. The rest of Mm’s body was firmly on Rel’s right side. Mm sighed in content, against Rel’s thigh.

When Rel looked down, Mm was fast asleep. Stuffed full and exhausted just from eating alone. Rel let out a silent sigh and considered going back to sleep himself. The thought of moving, and thus waking Mm up, made him wince and so, he decided to stay.

If only for Mm’s comfort.
