I feel totally nervous as I walk around the campus, following other people to where the dance is being held. A few random people keep looking at me, wondering who I am and if I’m really a student…
I knew I shouldn’t have done this! I’m going to be kicked out for sure at this rate!! I should just go home right now and forget all about Mr. What’s-his-name!! But… then Crissy will beat me up…
Okay. It’s okay. I can do this. I can do this.
But another look at all the actual students, and I feel like an intruder again. What am I going to do?!! Argh, this is so hopeless!! “Nana?”
I jump about a foot into the air after hearing my name so suddenly, turning to see Lucas and Millie, giving me confused looks. “I recognized your face. What are you doing here?” Millie asks, walking up to me.
“I… uh…”
“By the way, what happened to your hair?”
That’s right… I normally wear a wig… Looking behind her at Lucas, I can see him smirking. Crap, now he knows he was right all along! “It’s… a really long story…”
“Heh, yeah it is,” Lucas comments, still smirking.
I send a glare his way. I really hate this guy. “So what are you guys doing here then?”
Millie smiles. “Well, Lucas is a student here, and I’m his date! Hehe, are you here with someone too? Where is he?”
All I could give her was a nervous smile. “W-well, it’s more like… telling someone that I like him…”
“Oh, who is it? We might be able to help you find him.”
“Umm… No, no, it’s okay! You two should go ahead and have fun.”
“Are you sure?”
I smile lightly as I nod. I think I’m just going to chicken out anyway. As I watch Millie and Lucas walk away, I give a huge sigh and start walking toward the parking lot. It really was pretty stupid to think that I could just do this and that everything would be the way I wanted. But I do wish… that he would love me back.
“You really do come from a weird family, don’t you?”
I freeze. I know that voice. I look up, and there he is. “N-Nick?”
He looks.. only a little surprised. “So I guess… that everyone else was always right about you, huh?”
“Right about what?”
With a roll of the eyes, he says, “About you really being a girl?”
I’m about to deny it, but then remember what I’m wearing… “Yes… I’m sorry for tricking you…” I feel like I have to explain myself though, so I go on. “It was all Crissy’s fault though! It was her idea for me to dress like a guy and live with you!”
“So I guess I have her to thank then?”
Wait… “Thank… her??”

I end up having so much fun at the dance. Nicky actually dances with me nearly all night long, laughing at my severe lack of dancing skills. I found out earlier that he really did like me! But he was holding back because he still thought I was a guy, this whole time! I really am so happy though!
He ends up dropping me off at my mom’s house as it turns to early morning. “It’s going to be really weird now, knowing that you really are a girl.”
“Yeah… Should I just move out then?”
Nick seems to think it over for awhile. “No… just stay here for a couple days, alright?”
“Um… okay then.”
“And I’ll pick you up tomorrow at around eight, okay?” He smiles as I look at with a confused look. “For a date, alright?”
I instantly start smiling back. “Okay! Sounds great!”
“Great. I’ll see you tomorrow night then.”
And then he leaves, with me just standing there, heart racing, face blushing…

I’m so excited as I get ready for my date with Nick! Crissy just keeps grinning creepily at me, though. But I won’t let that bother me today. No, today things are going to be going my way, not hers! I won’t allow her to ruin this perfect date for me!!!
“So I guess you’re happy now?” she asks me.
“Yes, I am totally happy!”
“So I guess you guys are lovey-dovey now?” she asks me.
“Yes we are!”
“Okay then,” she tells me.
I pretty much run to the door when I hear the bell ring. I can’t stop the giant smile on my face as I open the door, only to be completely and totally shocked to find someone else standing there. “N-Nathan?! What are you doing here?!”
Sure enough, Nathan is standing right in front of me, smiling all innocent-like. “Crissy told me that you really missed me. Said that you couldn’t stand living without me.”
“She WHAT?!!!”
“Nana, what’s going on?” I look behind Nathan and now see Nick too.
Nathan looks him over carefully. “So who are you?”
“Nick. Now who the hell are you?”
This isn’t how my perfect date was supposed to start!!! “I guess you could call me… Nana’s ex?” Nathan suddenly says, putting his arm around me.
What the heck is going on here?!!!
