Chapter Twenty-One

Saria found himself alone when he woke the following day, much to his relief. He was glad that he didn't have to face Jarrett, after all the fuss he made yesterday, about the man not keeping his promised. He rolled to his side with both hand tucked under the side of his face. He sighed out and wonder why it was such a big deal for him to have the damn demon honor his promised to him yesterday.

The door to his room opened interrupting his thought. Alec entered the room with a smiled on his face as he walked toward him, carrying his breakfast tray. He sat up and looked at the man.

“Why are you bringing me my morning meal? Where is that damn demon name Jarrett?” Saria asked grimly. He caught the surprised looked on the man face as if his question surprises him.

Alec place the tray on the bedside table before answering the boy question, “Jarrett left this morning before sunrise. Right now as we speaks he is on his way back to the demon castle, he won't be back for you until he complete his new mission.”

Saria eyes flew opened wide, “That damn bastard of a demon! How dare he left me! What does he take me for? Leaving me with out a word.” Saria howled out angrily. His hand curled into a tight fist.

“I'm sure that Jarrett have his own reason for not telling you that he was leaving you here with me.”

Saria shook his head, “I am nothing to that man, I mean so little to him that he could just left me with out a word.”

Alec didn't know what to say, he sat down on the bed and put his arms around the boy. As soon as he have his arms around the boy. The boy leaned into him and he heard the boy soft sobbing sound. What was Jarrett thinking? Not saying a word to the boy. Can't he sees how much the boy have came to relied on him.

Saria wiped the tears away with the back of his hand, he wrapped his arms around Alec waist, he was thankful for the nice demon, trying to comfort him. He pulled away and forced a smiled on his face, he looked at the nice demon.

“Thank you! I don't know why I cry? But I'm fine now. I'm sure that you have other things to do today beside sitting here comforting me.”

Alec looked at the boy forlorn face, “I have nothing to do right now, but if you really wished for me to leave you alone then I am more then happy to do as you wished,” he said softly. Then as he expected the boy asked him to leaved, thanking him once more for comforting him. Alec stood up and walked toward the door. He turned the knob and opened the door. Before leaving the room he turned to the boy.

“Feel free to called for me if you need a shoulder to cry on.”

Alec received a thank you and a small smiled from the boy, then he left shutting the door behind him leaving the boy alone to cursed Jarrett.

Saria made up his mind, once his leg heal, he will leave this place and head south to his uncle home, he will go as far as he can from the bastard demon name Jarrett.

Jarrett stared at his reflection in the river, his reflection slowly faded away and Saria face appeared in the water staring back at him with a smile, before fading away and once more he stared at his own reflection. Oh god! How he missed the boy already. Every thing he sees turned into the boy smiling face staring back at him, he was really losing it. How can he missed someone this much, he really must be more in love with the boy then he thought.

Jarrett splashes some of the cold water onto his face before heading back to his horse. He wonder how the boy is doing right this moment. And how mad the boy is once he learned that he had left him there with Alec. He reached his horse and mounted his horse quickly. He stared up into the clear blue sky.

He hoped to god that the boy will forgive him, once he found the culprit that was behind their attacked. He was not one to sit down and wait patiently for his enemy to make their move, he was the kind of person who will go to what ever length to seek out his enemy for his king. And make them pay for messing with his king. But this time its personal, who ever that man was that try to killed him that day was after, Saria, his guts instinct told him that and he was never wrong.

“Wait for me Saria, I will returned to you.” Jarrett whispered into the wind. He gave his horse a kicked and rode off.

Two weeks after Jarrett left him, Saria legs finally healed up nicely. He didn't waste any time at all, he packed what ever he needs into a small bag and left the snow peacock castle secretly at night. In his room he left a small note for Alec.

Alec looked up from the note and stared right into Ian eyes, “this is not good, we must find the boy and I must send words to Jarrett.”

Ian gave a slight nod of his head, then he shouted out orders for his guards to searched for the boy, “the boy couldn't have gone far he must still be near by,” he said calmly to Alec.

“I hope that you are right Ian. If something happened to that boy, I don't know how I am going to tell Jarrett, let alone face him.”

Ian put his arms around Alec, “if my guard can't find him then I will accompany you into the outside world to find him,” he whispered.

Alec looked up at Ian, “thank you!”

That day the guard returned late at night with bad news informing their king that the boy is no longer in the premises they follow his foot print all the way down the snowy mountain. The boy foot print disappeared when they got to the bottom of the mountain. The next day Alec and Ian left the snow peacock castle to searched for Saria.

It was late past midnight and Dan and Alistair sat shoulder to shoulder with their back against the tree. Dan was silent he was thinking about what he saw today in town. Alistair didn't know that he had secretly followed him,when he parted with Alistair in the town market. Lying to Alistair that he had to get a few things before heading to see Ramsey. He lie to Alistair and secretly followed Alistair today was because Alistair was behaving suspiciously. He wanted to know one way or another what Alistair was hiding from him.

Dan shut his eyes as he ran through his thought trying to figured out what he should do, he couldn't believed that Alistair had lie to him about trying to make amends for his sin. Shit he feel like a big fool for believing in Alistair he thought that by telling Alistair the truth would changed Alistair but boy was he wrong, there was no changing Alistair.

He still can't believed that Alistair believed that he could get away with lying to him. The nerved of him to go behind his back and informed the Demon king men to secretly followed them to Ramsey. It pain him deeply but there was no other choice left for him he will leave Alistair. He refused to be used, he will not lead Alistair and the demon king men to Ramsey. With out saying a word Dan stood up and walked toward the river. He removed his clothes and dive into the cold water.

Alistair sat down on the green ground and watched the man he loved bath in the river. He grinned like a little kid when he remembered back to the day Dan told him that he loved him. it seem so unreal to him that he thought that he had dream the whole things.

“Dan you told me you loved me. You did admit it, didn't you? You can't take back your words.”

Dan swim toward Alistair,and place both his hand on each side of Alistair face. “I don't plan to take back those words, I do love you Alistair.”

Alistair relaxed and Dan gave Alistair a tender kissed on the lips. It will be their last kiss. He pulled back and quickly got out of the water. He dressed and turned to Alistair.

“Alistair I know that you have no plan of changing yourself.”

“What are you talking about Dan?” Alistair asked noticing the seriousness in Dan tone. He still have no idea that Dan had caught on to him.

“I love you Alistair and I thought that my loved for you could changed you, we have been together for a month now and I thought that everything was great, but today I found out that you had lie to me.”

Dan paused and his eyes started to filled with tears. “ Alistair tell me what do I have to do to get you to stop and think that the path that you had chosen was wrong. Tell me Alistair what more do you want from me before you returned to the way you were eighteen years ago.”

Alistair stormed up to Dan and gripped Dan hard on the shoulder, “I didn't intent to lie to you Dan, I only did it because it was the only way I know to get you to stay with me, I never once promised to changed myself, I only told you that I would try.” Alistair was making excuses for himself for breaking his promised to Dan and for lying to the man he loved.

Dan couldn't believed that the man in front of him still couldn't see the error of his way. He struggled out of Alistair gripped and took a step back. He wiped the tears from his eyes.

“I have decided to leave you, Alistair. I really wanted to spend my life with you, but not with the way you are now.”

Dan turned and walked over to his horses, he climbed on it and looked toward Alistair staring at him with out uttering a word waiting to see what he will do next. Dan gave Alistair a forlorn looked.

“When you finally decide to changed yourself come look for me and we will go see Ramsey together until then I won't tell you where Ramsey is.”

Dan then kicked his horse and rode off disappearing from Alistair sight before Alistair could stopped him, he was leaving Alistair sooner then he thought he would.

“Shit!”

Alistair cursed, then he kicked the dirt with the heel of his boot. Angry at himself, why? The hell did he have to go and screw everything up when everything was going his way. Shit with out Dan how is he supposed to find that bastard Ramsey and the surviving Phoenix clan. Damn it he screw up big time, not only did Dan leave him but he also have noway of fulfilling his secret mission for the Demon King.

Damn it the Demon king did inform him that night before he left, if things go as plan he will not only have Dan in his arms he will also have Ramsey head to bring back to the demon king and learned the secret that the demon king promised to reveal to him.

Alistair climbed on his horse and gave his horse a hard kicked then he rode off in the same direction as Dan, he must get Dan back, even if he have to lie and killed. “Dan there is no way I am letting you go. Not when I finally have your love.” he whispered to himself.

Dress in his red clothes Nora stood in the rose garden his eyes on his attacker. He have to give them credit for managing to sneak up on him and took him by surprised. His attacker was pretty daring to sneak into the demon king castle and come after him while the demon king is away. He smirked at the two woman and three men surrounding him. he glance down at his wounded shoulder and saw that the wound is slowly closing up.

Nora glanced back up at his attacker. A red sword the color of blood appeared in his right hand, the sword ignites into flame right before he attacked his attacker. Despite being pregnant Nora speed did not decreased instead he was faster then before, he swift right by his attacker and lay a deep cut to their chest and thigh.

“Have enough?” Nora asked his attacker with a cold smirked

His attacker looked at each other, they all thought that this was an easy mission, they had heard that the fire phoenix boy was a weak boy and this they believed that it was easy to captured the boy for their leaders but they weren't going to give up now that they are here, they each nod there head before attacking the fire phoenix boy all at once. Dead are alive they just need the fire phoenix boy blood for their leader.

Nora was getting tired and so he ended the fight earlier then he wishes too, his attacker left him no choice but to kill them, he killed all five of them with his blood sword, as they all came at him at once he twirled his sword in a circular motion with just his wrist and swiftly cut their throat, his attacker fell to the ground with blood flowing out of their open throat.

Nora glance down at his fallen attacker, the sound of footsteps approaching the garden got his attention he glance up to see Cain and Cole staring wide eyes at him with their mouth open, he could tell that the two man was having a hard time believing their eyes.

Nora walked right passed them, “make sure to buried them,” he whispered to Cole and Cain before heading off to his room. As soon as he reached his room he sat down in front of his dressing mirror. Two hours later the demon king walked in and walked toward him.

Kai place both his hand on each side of the boy shoulder, “what happen Maya?” he asked the boy in red. He felt the boy tensed and slowly the boy turned his head and looked up at him.

Maya looked up at the demon king, “you knew all along that there was no Nora?” he returned the demon king question with his own.

“Yes I knew all along,” reply Kai.

“When?” Ask Maya.

“When your dad was taken over by the dream Demon, your action taht day gave you away, you also forgot to disguised your voice that time because your main concern was for your dad, you unleashed your fire phoenix power back then to help your dad when you realized what was wrong with him,” Kai replied in full detail.

Maya leaned back and rest his head against the demon king abdomen, “you're not mad at me?” He asked softly.

Kai gazed into the boy eyes, “instead of being mad at you I am proud of you for being able to protect yourself, you have great control over your power Maya.”

Maya shook his head and wrapped his arms around the demon king waist, “sometimes I let my power over take me and I became really cruel, like today I killed those five with out hesitation, usually I would just harm them enough that they are unable to fight back any longer, but this was the first time that I kill someone. And it shocked me to know that I could take someone life with out batting an eye lashed.”

Kai kissed the top of the boy head, “they deserved to die anyway for trying to take you away from me, if you haven't killed them I would have. Now lets forget about what happened, I want to hold you in my arms.”

Maya gazed up at the demon king and smiled, just like the demon king to know how to get his mind off of things. He tighten his hold on the demon king waist, “only if I get to ride you tonight,” he said with a smirked.

Kai laughed and swept the boy into his arms, “as you wished,” he said between laughing as he carry the boy to their bed.

Val watched the sleeping beauty lying beside him, he cannot help but think that Alexis was looking more lovely every day. He wonder if all men that are expecting look as lovely as his Alexis. Subconsciously he brushed his thumb over the pretty man lowered lip. Alexis moan in his sleep before turning his head to the side and mumbled out something Val couldn't make out. Val smiled and rolled out off bed, he bath and dress before walking out of the room. He shut the door quietly and headed straight down the hall.

Alexis woke up a few moment later after Val left. He sat up in bed and pulled the cover up to wrapped around his naked body, he got out of bed and make his way to the bathroom where he took a nice warm bath. A few minute later he emerged out of the bathroom, he dress quickly before heading out to the dining room for his morning meal.

A plate of his favorite food was place right before him along with a glass of cold milk. Alexis thank the maid before digging into his morning meal. The dining room door opened to reveal Val and beside him was his wife Koliyan. Alexis ignored the two and went back to his food.

“How are you today?” Koliyan asked the pretty man as soon as she sat down.

Alexis ignored the woman and drink his milk, when done he place it back down on the table. He stood up and walked out of the dining room with out answering the woman question. He didn't head to his room because he knew that that is the first place the red demon will looked for him so he make a left turned and headed to the garden out back.

Val was about to go after Alexis and reprimand him for ignoring his wife when his wife grabbed his hand and push him back down onto the chair. He looked at his wife, “why did you stopped me?” He asked.

“Because there is no need for you to hurt Alexis, the man is pregnant so its understandable that he is not in a friendly mood.”

“Just because he is pregnant it doesn't excused his behavior, how dare he ignore you and walked out on us!”

Koliyan shook her head at her husband, “Val if you keep blowing up at the man every time he defy you sooner are later he will run away from you again, and this time I am not going to help you looked for him.”

Val fold his arm in front of him, “like I will give him a second chance to escaped from me.”

“Then you should be more caring for the pretty man instead of spending time with me, a woman that is gonna drop dead any day now, I suggest that you spend time with the person that will become your new wife, or in your case your first husband, my dear husband.”

Val turned away from his wife, “don't you want to spend your time with me while you are still alive?”

“While I am still alive I want to see you happy, stop feeling guilty for falling for another person, I already know that I am important to you, right now your biggest concern isn't about me but the pretty man that is carrying your child, spend time with him, show him how much you care for him and if possible tell the pretty man that you love him.”

Val turned to his wife and gave his wife a kissed on the cheek,” there is no hiding anything from you is there?”

Koliyan chuckled, “you already know the answer to that, now go find your pregnant husband and shower him with love before its too late for you to mend things with him.”

Val stood up and walked out of the dining room in searched of his Alexis. He found him at the garden and slowly make his way toward the pretty man. “What are you doing out here alone in your condition?” He yelled out of habit, startling the young man.

Alexis hand went to his heart, the man startle him good, he was so lost in his thought that he didn't hear the man approached him. It took his heart a moment to settle down before he spoke up.

“I'm hiding from you of course, why else would I be here?” Answer Alexis.

Val swept the pregnant man up and carefully carry the man back to their room," starting today things are going to have to changed, I am not letting you out of my sight not even for a moment, you know how scared I was when I couldn't find you anywhere. I swear to god that you are going to be the death of me Alexis.”

Alexis put his arms around Val neck and gazed up at the man, “now why should you be worried about me, after all I am nothing more then a mistress to replace your sick wife in bed?”

Val stopped and gazed down at Alexis, “you are not Koliyan replacement never was and never will, I took you to my bed because I wanted you, you bewitch me with your beauty the moment I lay my eyes on you. Now tell me what gives you the idea that you are a replacement for my wife?”

Alexis turned his eyes away from Val, “you make it very clear how little I mean to you when ever you are with your wife. You shower her with love and kindness and when you are with me you are mean to the core you kept me chain up in the room and force yourself on me several time with out a care as to how I feel.”

“I treat Koliyan well because of her condition, that one time when I kissed her in front of you was to make you jealous and Koliyan knew it too.”

Alexis glance back up at Val, he debated with himself if he should believed Val are not, finally he decided that it properly wouldn't hurt to give the man the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he is going soft because of his condition and is desperately wanting to believed that the man care for him at least a little, he rested his head on Val warm chest. “Take me back to our room am cold,” he whispered.

That night Koliyan pass away, a single drop of tears slid down Koliyan face she really love Val and was happy for him that he finally found someone he loved even if that person isn't her. The only thing she regret is not being able to see Val child. She pass away with a peaceful smiled on her face.
