Wolf Instincts
Chapter 1: A sad beginning
Elijah pounded at the ground or rather at the small bird he had caught and was now beating the life out of. He pulled off it's feathers and brushed off the soiled flesh. He held it over the small fire he had made and sat back. By the looks of it, Elijah hadn't eaten in weeks, his stomach caved in and was unshapely. His face was beginning to lose it's round shape and he was now pale and sickly in appearance.
Elijah watch the flames jump up from the fire and disappear into the wind. He found himself remembering back to when he and his brother were just pups...
....
"You know Elijah your just like me." said Elliot smirking and patting Elijah's head. "We have our own little pack right here hm?"
"Sure do! We gotta stick together like a pack too! Can't let anything tear us a part." Elijah responded enthused. He pounced on his brothers back. "That means no girls either!"
"Okay no girls." said Elliot smiling.
Since their mother and father died in a hunting accident, they had been on their own and without restriction. They pick pocketed in the city, fought the other boys and lived uncontrolled for years until Elliot joined with another pack...
....
"Fuck him! Fuck them all! I don't need them!" Elijah shouted, punching the ground hard. He nursed his bloody knuckles.
"Elijah come back to camp." said Elliot making his way through to Elijah after having followed his scent for miles to find him. Elijah kept his head down.
"I don't need you. I never did."
"We all have to grow up at some point. My point happened and yours didn't."
"I don't need to grow up! In fine the way I am-"
"And that's your problem! You never think you need to change!"
"You left me!"
Elliot stopped in his tracks and turned away as if ashamed.
"You left me high and dry! Elliot continued. "You told me you'd stay but you didn't! You left and I had no one else!" Elijah tried to hold back his tears.
"We all have to leave at some point Elijah. I had no choice but to leave. I was challenged and-"
"You gave up! When you two fought, you gave up and I could see it in your eyes. You didn't care about me."
Elijah pulled his dinner from the fire and nibbled on it.
"You look sick. Come back with me Elijah."
"Why should I? I have nothing left there."
"You have me...and you'll always have me."
Elijah dropped his bird dinner on the ground and ran over to Elliot, burying his face in Elliots stomach. Startled but happy Elliot grabbed hold of him.
"You left for so long. Why'd you leave me." Elijah whimpered. Elliot pressed the back of Elijah's head further into his clothed stomach and let him cry it out, cry it all out...

Elijah curled up underneath his warm blankets moving only to scratch at the air subconsciously. He stretched out and awoke when he didn't feel the warmth of his brother lying next to him.
"Elliot?" he said, sitting up and looking around. There was a commotion outside. Elijah got out of bed and walked out of his den to find that everyone was growling at something that he couldn't yet see. He squeezed his way past to an open space.
"Who the fuck are they?" said Elijah seeing the two very heavily shrouded men and boys standing in the distance, just where the woods began.
"Shh Elijah! Be careful what you say or he'll know you don't belong to a pack." said Elliot putting his hand over Elijahs mouth. They both turned to listen when the man spoke.
"We're here for a certain somone who is isn't packed."
The term packed hadn't been used since the 1800s and usually referred to wolves who hadn't belonged to packs like Elijah. Elliot pushed Elijah back behind himself. He knew that the man was looking to recruit a member.
"I would be terribly upset having come here on a lead and left with nothing." the man removed his shroud and let his claws and fangs extend. It was plain to see that he was a chieftain or pack leader, but he was ready to show it nonetheless.
"This was planned. None of the camp chieftains have stepped up to defend our territory." said Elliot. Elijah's eyes filled with rage. He pulled out of Elliot hold.
"They never liked me!" he shouted pulling away from the crowd. "You fuckers will see! You'll se how strong I am and wish I was in your pack!"
"Elijah no!" Elliot said reaching forward to grab him, but it was too late. Elijah had already transformed and was brushing his paws against the ground to assert dominance.
"This must be him." the man said smiling. He transformed too. He was a much bigger wolf with thick brown fur while Elijah had still been growing his second coat, but Elijah was confident and unafraid.
Elliot stepped back pissed.
"Elijah you fucking idiot!" he screamed out.
Elijah and the chieftain circled the grounds, both rubbing their paws against the dusty earth. They watched each other with silent eyes, their yellow slits glowing through the darkness. Elijah attacked first, pouncing and missing his much stronger target. The chieftain rolled and caught Elijah with his sharp claws. Elijah howled and jumped back. His shoulder bled. The wolves squared off again.
....
Elliot ran a nervous hand through his head before plowing through the crowd of onlookers.
"He needed to be tamed." said a voice in the crowd. Elliot paused for a moment but kept going ignoring the remark.
....
Elijah went flying through into the crowd and everyone backed away to avoid the oncoming struggle. The chieftain jumped on top of Elijah catching him in it's claws and dragging him back to the clearing. Elijah tried to pull away, his teeth gnashing, claws extended but the other wolf was too strong, too quick. It's grabbed Elijah by his throat and steadily bit into the flesh. Elijah howled out. It sunk it's teeth deeper, deeper waiting for Elijah to submit. Elijah clawed at the ground, rolled and tried to pull itself away but the wolfs hold was monstrous. His body grew weak, his muscles relaxed and he surrendered. The crowd began to disperse knowing already what would happen next.
The two transformed back to their human bodies, both naked and filthy.
"You have my mark." said the chieftain. He lifted Elijah up off the ground and brushed him off. "But you put up a good fight boy."
"I belong...to...no one. No one you hear me!" Elijah shouted. He winced and held his throat. "I'm not going anywhere with you."
The chieftain smirked and knelt down beside Elijah. He pressed his lips to Elijah's ear.
"Whatever you got away with here, you won't get away with while I'm around." he whispered. "Now, get up and follow me."
Elijah growled lowly feeling threatened.
"I told you I'm not going anywhere..." Elijah grunted. The chieftain grabbed a handful of Elijahs long, untamed blond hair and lifted him from the ground. Elijah tried to transform.
"Your energy flows through me now. I allow you to shift." said the chieftain with a growl.
Elijah knew the rules all too well, but was in disbelief at how easily he had been packed. He turned to see his brother standing at the edge of their den.
"Brother! Help!" Elijah yelled suddenly. His brother merely turned away disappointed.
"It's too late for that..." Eliot said under his breath. He walked away.
