Chapter 2
Yeah… some of you have noticed about the whole red and white thing. Well, in Blue, it was written first, and it was just part of the character.
Well, on here, it’s sort of important about the red and white thing. Along with their character. (And yes, I DO like the red and white thing.)
Kindle sat around a blazing fire, his hands out in front of him, soaking in the heat. He knew that the other dragon was watching him, but he ignored it, too focused on trying to get warmed back up. It hadn’t been far, where the white dragon had taken him, but he still ended up completely drenched by the time they were halfway there.
It was quiet, and Kindle was getting nervous. After a few minutes of unbroken silence, he couldn’t stand it anymore.
“So who are you, then?” He asked, looking over at the white dragon, but otherwise, not moving from his spot in front of the fire.
“Torr.” The dragon answered.
Torr. Torr. That didn’t sound familiar.
“Where you from, Torr?” Kindle asked conversationally. The white dragon shrugged.
“Nowhere, really.” Kindle raised an eyebrow at that, but left it alone.
Instead, he looked around the small cave he’d been taken to. If it hadn’t looked lived in, and smelled of dragon, he would have thought that Torr had brought him to some random cave on the side of the mountain. To get him out of the rain at the very least.
But no, there were random gouges throughout that could only be from a dragon, probably from stretching or any other number of things.
Then there was the nest he could see a little further in, settled in a cranny large enough to hold Torr in dragon from, and then some.
“Where’re you headed, then?” Torr asked, not taking his eyes off of Kindle once.
The red dragon shrugged. “Not too sure yet. Just wanted to get up to the mountains, at least. Away from my clan. Why, I’m not encroaching on your territory, am I?”
Torr shook his head. “No, not at all. I don’t claim this area.”
Kindle nodded absently, looking towards the entrance of the cave. The rain had finally let up a bit, which meant he might be able to leave soon.
“Are you really sure you want to leave your clan, though?”
“Of course,” Kindle replied quickly. There was no way he was going back.
“What happened?” Torr seemed honestly curious.
Kindle looked at the white dragon across the fire. He shrugged.
“Nothing I really want to talk about.”
“Does it have something to do with mating?”
Kindle froze, before looking down.
“I really don’t want to talk about it.”
Thankfully, Torr didn’t ask him any further questions about it.
Eventually the rain stopped, giving way to bright sunlight and cheerful birds.
Kindle was slightly reluctant to leave. He still didn’t know where to go from here. He told Torr this.
“You can stay for a little while longer until you make your mind,” had been the white dragon’s response.
Which led to Kindle laying spread-eagle over a large rock, basking in the sun, soaking up the heat, as he started to think of a plan. He wasn’t sure where Torr had gone, the dragon having left soon after Kindle went out of the cave. There weren’t many trees surrounding the cave, due to rocky ground.
It was so quiet here, so peaceful. There wasn’t any random roaring in the middle of the night as he tried to sleep, or yelling when someone accidentally set someone else on fire, or arguing over who got who around mating season.
He wasn’t sure if he even wanted to leave. Torr himself was a quiet dragon, he was a bit inquisitive, but he left things alone. Kindle had a feeling he wouldn’t be bothering the red dragon about why he was here, at least not now.
Now that he thought about it, he wasn’t sure about being all alone with no one to talk to or play with. Yes, Torr wasn’t exactly the type to romp around. The red dragon figured he was at least over a hundred, though that could be considered young when it came to some types of dragons, not just dominate or submissive.
This… this could be good but now he had to find a reason to stay here.
Actually, he didn’t need a reason. He had an idea of what to do.
Torr came back soon, a buck in his maw as he walked towards the cave, depositing it near Kindle as he shifted into his human form.
“Have you figured out what your going to do?”
Kindle got up, a large grin on his face.
“Yes. I have.”
“Oh?”
“Yes. I’m going to live here.” Kindle’s grin didn’t leave his face as Torr cocked his head.
“I didn’t say you could have permission to do so.” Torr told him, his eyes narrowed, but Kindle only shook his head.
“Why should I have your permission? You haven’t claimed this place. You said it yourself. Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m going to kick you out, feel free to stay as long as you please.”
Torr’s mouth opened slightly, as if he was trying to say something, but nothing came out. He closed it, blinking.
“Did you just steal my home?”
“I don’t see it as stealing. I see it as taking the opportunity to acquire myself a place to sleep.” Kindle still grinned at Torr stared at him, stunned.
Then Torr grinned. “All right then.”
Maybe living with a dominant dragon wasn’t the best idea. Mating season might have passed, but Kindle was still feeling the affects of not being mated for his first year. Made him do things he wouldn’t normally do otherwise.
Like follow someone to watch them bathe.
It didn’t start out like that, it really didn’t. He was just curious where Torr had been heading, so he decided to go after him. Was it really his fault that Torr didn’t notice that the red dragon was coming after him?
Kindle didn’t think so, especially when Torr changed into his human form and walked into the river that he’d shown Kindle a few days before, when he’d taken over Torr’s cave.
Now he was watching as Torr washed himself, water running down skin that covered hard muscles. Sleek skin between the random scar here and there, that most dragons gained throughout their life, dominate or no.
What Kindle was doing was slightly depraved. He might have had a good reason for it, but still…
He just didn’t care.
At least not right now. Getting caught didn’t sound like a good idea, and Torr looked like he was finished.
Kindle made it back before Torr did, the older dragon never knowing that he’d even left the area near the cave. He laid himself out on what was becoming known as his rock.
Torr glanced at him as he walked by, back in his dragon form, before going inside the cave.
Soon, Kindle followed after.
He had messed with any of Torr’s items, or the nest that Torr had made. There was no way in hell that Kindle was stupid enough to do that. The white dragon might tolerate him when it came to who owned what bit of land, but no dragon messed with another’s nest.
That was a death wish.
Kindle had made his own. It wasn’t as comfy as Torr’s looked, though that might have to do with the fact that Torr was in it.
Maybe if Torr let him…
No. Stupid mating season. Kindle would have thought that the affects would have stopped by now. But then again, few submissives, very few submissives went through their first mating season without getting mated, so truthfully, Kindle had no idea if he’d ever stop thinking about Torr. Well, at least stop lusting after him, anyway. Thankfully, if Torr figured it out, the white dragon hadn’t said anything about it.
And besides, getting mated wasn’t exactly something that Kindle was wanting to do. At least not anymore.
Sorry that this took me so long to update. I would have sooner, but the ideas aren’t flowing as quick on this as it is Blue.
