Reigleigh woke up in the dark, the air around him was still, and heavy, but he couldn’t hear any breathing so he assumed he was alone.
‘Wait, am I stupid or something, the dead don’t breathe!’
He reached out to his side only to hit something hard, panicking slightly he lifted his other hand, but before it could go very far, it hit something solid. Quickly feeling along the top the side of his hand smacked into a wall. He ran his hands along the sides frantically scrabbling for an opening, his breaths getting short and fast.
‘Oh god oh god oh god’
Suddenly it all clicked,
Vincent had put him in a coffin, he had to get out, lifting his legs he tried to kick at the ceiling, screaming at the top of his lungs.
“Get me out of here!!!!”
Suddenly the top was dragged clean off, Reigleigh was interrupted midkick, and the force he put into it, nearly wrenched his leg out of his socket, he whimpered but took a deep breath, quickly placing his hands on either side of the coffin, he pulled himself up and out of the coffin. Landing on his bad leg he buckled and nearly hit the floor, but Vincent caught him. Reigleigh looked up to find, Vincent glaring daggers at him.
“What is your problem?! I put you in a coffin for the night, and you try to destroy it!”
Vincent snarled angrily. Reigleigh blanched, Vincent was gripping him tightly, and his grip was only getting tighter and tighter, soon it felt like he was trying to crush his bones, whimpering Reigleigh stuttered
“I…I…d-don’t l-like enc-enclosed spa-spaces”
With a look of contempt Vincent let Reigleigh drop to the floor, uncaring of his bad leg. Reigleigh cried out, Vincent smiled, blowing Reigleigh a kiss he turned on his heel and walked out. Reigleigh was left cradling his bad leg, shivering from the cold of the coffin room. Shivering again but not from the cold, he dragged himself to his feet, and limped off in the direction that Vincent had disappeared trying to get away from the coffins surrounding him.
Reigleigh limped through the archway which Vincent had disappeared through, only to be confronted with a winding staircase, sighing he slumped on the wall.
‘How was he meant to get out of here now?’
Steeling himself against the pain, he tested his bad leg. He grabbed for the thin banister, and half climbing, half hauling himself upwards, he made his way up the stairs. He stumbled nearly falling a couple of times, bringing tears to his eyes, but he persevered. At the top, he gave a huge sigh of relief, the climb was finally over. Though in front of him was a huge door , and he wondered if he’d have enough strength left to open it. Resting against the wall for a moment he prepared himself, he slowly pushed off from the wall, and limped towards the door. As he paced his hand on it ready to push, it swung open easily; startled Reigleigh nearly pitched forward, but was again caught, this time by a guard standing outside the door.
The guard set him on his feet and turned to stare blankly into the room without a word. Confused Reigleigh looked out into the room and realised it was the club from last night, before it opened. The room wasn’t empty; in fact the place although lit only by dim lamps looked something akin to a coffee shop, a meeting place of sorts. All of the people turned and stared at him, some leered, and some just turned away uninterested. Reigleigh blushed, looking around he could not recognise anyone. Suddenly he felt a hand of his shoulder, startled he swung round, to find himself staring at a smiling Vincent.
“So you made it upstairs, we’ll leave soon, when it gets dark.”
“But...”
Hushing him almost immediately, Vincent lifted him and carried him over to a group of people sitting in a circle or armchairs. They turned to stare at him, as Vincent set Reigleigh down on a spare armchair and glided off.
“Hi?”
Reigleigh said tentatively. The group looked at him weirdly for a second then returned to their conversation without acknowledging his attempt. Feeling hurt but relieved he didn’t have to make small talk, Reigleigh settled into the armchair to wait. To pass the time he observed the people around him. The girl next to him had green hair and a nose piercing, she wasn’t particularly pretty, (not that he’d ever find any girls attractive), but what she was wearing was certainly eye-catching. She had on a luminescent green bra, and a netted halter neck on top of it, showcasing various scars. Self consciously Reigleigh felt for the bite on his neck, surprisingly it was practically despite him having been bitten in exactly the same place twice last night. Around the circle everyone had scars, and they all seemed to be showing them off, especially the guy across from him, who was wearing nothing but a thong and some leather straps across his legs and arms, he was pretty hot, but he was covered in scars, and as the guy turned to the person next to him Reigleigh saw he even had scars on his back. Shivering Reigleigh felt himself under intense scrutiny, his eyes darting round the circle he came to rest on the culprit. A man with red hair like his own and blue eyes, he had strong features but sported a scar across his left cheek. He was silent and continued to stare at Reigleigh even after being caught, in fact he smiled, and mouthed something that Reigleigh couldn’t quite make out.
As he was about to say something he was lifted out of his seat, by a pair of strong arms, and looked up to meet Vincent’s black but changing eyes.
“We are leaving now”
Reigleigh opened his mouth to protest but the way that Vincent said it, brooked no argument. Vincent carried him a way then put him down before they reached the door, he moved in front of Reigleigh and pressed his hand into the blank pad next the door, it beeped and something flashed above Vincent’s hand but Reigleigh was unable to catch what had appeared on the screen. The door swung open and Vincent grabbed Reigleigh’s arm pulling him out into the dark street. Gathering Reigleigh into his arms once again he lifted himself off the ground and flew. Frightened Reigleigh held Vincent tightly, afraid he might fall.
Vincent smiled down at Reigleigh, he looked good when he was frightened, but then he looked good when he was in ecstasy, Vincent smiled to himself;
‘I wonder, oh I wonder…. ‘
Vincent slowly began to open his arms, till Reigleigh was holding onto Vincent by himself, the terrified look in Reigleigh eyes excited him, let go he mouthed to Reigleigh.
Reigleigh trembled, shaking his head violently, with more force Vincent said
“let go”
To Reigleigh’s horror his arms where moving against his will, his hands slowly unclasping themselves from around Vincent’s waist, till finally he was holding on with sheer force of will and his finger tips, Vincent smiled and Reigleigh let go that very last bit…….
Vincent laughed at the abject terror on Reigleigh’s face as he began to fall, Reigleigh looked down, and fainted unable to bear the fact he was falling miles above ground. Laughing Vincent picked him up again and spirited him away.
Reigleigh came to suspended in the dark, he tried to open his eyes but there was something stopping him. He tried to move his arms and legs but they were held taught. Again he heard the now familiar disembodied chuckle, he shivered the awareness that he was naked creeping in as cold air brushed his body, raising goosebumps.
“I want to play a game”
Came Vincent’s voice floating towards him from somewhere in the room, Reigleigh shivered again, but not from the cold this time, from fear and instilled curiosity.
“What game do you want to play, Vincent”
he said slowly and quietly, but in his mind he already knew exactly what kind of game Vincent wanted to play, and he had no choice but to play it. Vincent whispered into his ear suddenly directly beside him.
“Call me master”
