Chapter 1: The Plan

The team was gathered in the meeting room at the station. Sean and Nick along with Matt, Bob, Craig, Mike, Chris and Ben were seated around the large conference table discussing the plan for getting into the club.

Nick was made sure to go over all details, major and minor, with them so there would be no margin of error. He had never lost a team member under his watch and did not intend to start now. He sat looking into all of their faces. They were family and close friends and he knew that it had been sheer luck that none of them had every gotten seriously injured or killed while on duty. He was fond of them all and was glad to have them by his side.

“Are all the ear and microphones working properly?” Nick asked Mike the Technical expert on the team.

“Trust me, there good as they ever will be Sarge” Mike answered.

“What about the surveillance equipment Chris?”

“I upgraded and tested it last week, everything is fully operational and functional.” came the response from Chris.

“Weapons still working properly Craig?”

“I am not the Ammunition expert for nothing, you know.” was the cocky reply from Craig.

He looked over at Ben, Matt and Bob his additional backup who were fully qualified in Martial Arts training. They were large, muscular and fit men who had fought by his side in many a situation. The three men taught defensive and combative training at the Police Academy.

Nick ended the meeting saying, “OK, everything is in order and we know the game plan so let’s get ready to go kick some drug dealing ass. Good luck everyone and remember not to take any unnecessary chances. I know I don’t have to remind all of you to watch each others back. We will get this job finished, as always, together.”

They all stood up and shook hands before heading off to their respective duties. Nick headed for the men’s room to change along with Sean, Ben, Matt and Bob. They would be dressing for the occasion in ‘style’. Dark Enchantment maybe a den for the drug dealers but it also housed various other criminals and they all had to look the part or their cover would be blown.

Ten minutes later they all stepped out of their individual stalls and were appraising each other’s styles and outfits.

“Holy Shit Nick, I never knew you were such a looker”, Ben wolf whistled at him.

Trying to refrain from laughing out of respect for their superior, but failing miserably, the others tried not making eye contact with Nick.

“Ha, ha, ha, very funny jack ass." Nick mumbled back.

In reality, Nick had never been as self-conscious as he was at this moment. Come on Nick, he told himself, I only have to keep up this act up for as long as it takes to nail those sick bastards. He glanced over at the mirror above the sink and saw himself in a tight pair of brown leather pants that clung low to his hips and accentuated his slim frame like a second skin. He was wearing a dark blue body hugging top that was cut mid-drift in the middle and showed off his sleek muscles and abs, he also sported a small tattoo on his back left shoulder of a Celtic cross. His eyes, if possible, seemed even larger and bluer with the clothing he was wearing. He had pulled on a pair of black biking boots to complete the image of being a young man out for a night of adventure with his friends and looking for some fun and good times. With his lean body and dark good looks he made the appearance of being an innocent lamb about to enter the lion’s den.
If only he was had been aware of what would await him, he may have done things differently, change some small detail, but fate had already started dealing his cards that night, and the deck was stacked against him.

Looking his team over, Nick told them. “OK, it looks like we are good to go. Let’s move!” they headed out together into the dark evening night.
