Chapter Two

Chapter Two

“Hmmm, you smell like a mystery”

The deep voice spoke the words directly into Elijah’s ear. His body screamed in protest, his arm painfully wrenched behind his back. Oh god, he was going to die.

A tendril of long blonde hair tumbled over his left should and Elijah marvelled at its vibrant colour. If he wasn’t so afraid of being crushed to pieces by this…being then he would have blushed as the naked body of his capturer pushed flush against his dirt stained clothes.

His eyes caught those of his best friend, blue eyes wide and watery. How was he going to get out of this? What sort of cruel joke were the fates playing on him? Survive being beaten up by thugs only to be murdered by this…thing.

He could hear the male sniffing him and he wanted all the more to shift through his body and arrive far away from him.

“L-Let him go!” A stammered plea emanated from Adam. His insides were trembling, adrenaline rushed through his body. He didn’t want to lose Elijah. He had become like a younger brother to him, ever since Elijah’s parents were killed he had looked out for him.

Brilliant red eyes pierced him with a viscous look, lips pulled back and mouth pulled into a snarl. A low growl like sound pierced through the silent area.

Elijah tensed even more. His eyes begged Adam to help him; he was going to be devoured by a man eating monster. He could feel hot breath by his ear and brushing onto his neck. He was trembling from head to toe; he’d only ever been this scared once before, when his parents had been murdered in front of him. He could still remember his mother’s cry as his father had been shot through the mouth. The loud splatter of brain matter and blood forever remained imprinted on his memory.

“Please let him go, he didn’t mean to disturb you. We just want to go home!”

Adam tried again. He was slowly edging his way towards the two, hoping he could get close enough to hit the man hard enough to release Elijah.

His eyes kept on going to the strange markings on the man’s right arm. The black swirls seemed to change constantly like water, running smoothly up and down his arm, curling into different patterns. He blinked and looked at them again, they were solid unmoving lines. I must be losing my mind, Adam thought.

The red eyes hadn’t stopped glaring at him; the colour was slowly bleeding into black, swirling around where the iris would be. Adam hesitated, not wanting to aggravate Elijah’s tormentor.

The hand in Elijah’s hair had tightened to a nearly unbearable grip. Pain shot through his scalp towards his cheek bones, aggravating his already bruised face. His ribs were starting to hurt a lot more, the position he was in was hardly releasing the pressure on the bruised bones.

“Don’t come any closer, human.”

The electricity in the air seemed to double, crackling and whipping about ferociously. A tendril struck the ground no far from Adam, causing him to cry out and jump away. A sizzling sound could be heard from where the electricity stuck the ground, small clouds of smoke rising from the charred hole. Heart pounding he turned to face Elijah. He felt so useless; this being was obviously so much stronger than him.

Tendrils of electricity caressed the demon’s body, licking at the surface of Elijah’s skin. The touch was warm, but did not hurt him. Blood pounding through his veins he plucked up enough courage to plea to his capturer.

“P-please let me go. I meant you no harm Sir,” he added the honorific, hoping to placate the unstable being.

A deep chuckle vibrated through his back, the arms holding him hostage tightened, pulling Elijah’s body even closer to the warm naked one behind him. The hand in his hair gave a violent jerk backwards, pulling his head with it. Bright red eyes swirling with black looked intently into Elijah’s sea blue eyes. A sinister smile slowly spread its way over his handsome captor’s face.

“You, dear human are my mystery. Nothing gets between me and my meal.”

Elijah’s eyes widened and his heart beat picked up, oh god, he was going to be eaten by this crazy thing. What to do?

Elijah’s mind desperately worked to try and find a solution out of this mess. Maybe he could try kicking the being; after all he had nothing protecting his body if he kicked him in the balls that would surely hurt enough to make him release him.

Elijah drew in a deep breath to study his nerves then stomped down with all this might on the unsuspecting toes of his capturer. Nothing happened, absolutely nothing. What were his toes made of… Steel?

A chuckle startled him sending mixed signals of warmth and fear through his body. What was this man doing to him?

“Foolish human, you think you’re strong enough to cause me pain?”

Elijah gulped, feeling even more afraid. He chanced a glance at Adam, who was still trying to find a way to get close to him, the electricity surrounding Elijah and the demon was making it a near impossible feat.

Panic was slowly spreading through Elijah’s veins; he had to do something to escape. He started thrashing about in his captor’s grasp, desperately trying to land a kick or punch on his body. He managed to get a hit or two in, but again they had no effect.

What on Mother Gaia was this thing?

Elijah let out a yelp when his arm was twisted back even harder; it felt like his shoulder was going to pop out of its socket if he moved a millimetre further backwards. He balanced his body, breath coming in ragged gasps as he tried to prevent another painful injury.

Lips met the side of his throat, teeth gently scraping along the flesh there. A shudder went through Elijah’s body, heat started to pool in the bottom of his stomach. What kind of spell had this demon cast on him? He shouldn’t be getting aroused in this kind of situation.

“What did I just tell you? Are you deaf as well as stupid, human?”

A pained whimper escaped Elijah’s lips, a few strands of his brown hair whipped around his face as the electricity surrounding them picked up speed. The strong hold on his body lessened a bit and the black in his captor’s eyes receded, leaving a blood red. Elijah shivered.

“Please don’t eat me,” his voice came out in a whispered plea, he didn’t think the man would be able to hear him over the noise.

A soft almost tender smile appeared on the demon’s face, the hand in his hair released him along with the one holding his arm behind his back. Elijah gasped as a dull ache shot through his abused shoulder; he thought it would have some relief now.

No sooner was he released, the demon spun Elijah around to face him and pulled him flush against his body. A rosy blush climbed up Elijah’s face as he felt the man’s naked anatomy touch his front. He struggled against the strong grip holding him close to a muscled chest and warm smooth skin. Tears leaked out of his eyes, he really didn’t want to die.

“Please, please don’t eat me!” he cried.

A soothing hand clamped onto his head and manoeuvred it to the demon’s shoulder, whilst his other arm wrapped securely around the trembling boys waist.

“Hush now, little human, I will not harm you. You are the key to the most satisfying meal I have ever had. You should feel honoured that I have chosen you.”

Elijah was baffled by this; the monster didn’t want to eat him? Then why was he saying that he was a meal?

“Do not think over things you will not understand, human. Come now, we shall be gone from here.”

Poor Elijah didn’t have a chance to think over what his kidnapper had said. The electricity in the air multiplied to a vast amount, lighting up the area and crackling through the sky. Elijah’s face was securely mashed to the man’s chest, his smooth skin slightly damp from the boy’s tears.

Bright white light danced behind Elijah’s eyes and then he felt weightless, like he was falling. He tried to struggle, but he couldn’t move. No noise would come out from his throat.

He really was going to die.

White light surrounded him and the crackling and snapping of the electricity filled his ears, he struggled, afraid of what was happening. Strong arms surrounding him tightened and the demon whispered soothing sounds to the frazzled boy.

The demons blonde hair whipped about them, the silky strands brushed against the boy’s cheek a few times. Elijah didn’t dare to open his eyes, he was too afraid.

After what seemed like forever the whooshing finally stopped and the weight returned to his body. He sagged with relief and the arms of his capturer were the only things to hold him up.
He slowly blinked his eyes open and cautiously tried to take a step backwards, nothing stopped him from doing so and he hastily moved away.

The man stood there gazing at him levelly, still naked and equally as gorgeous. Long blonde hair reached to his bottom, some hanging over his right shoulder, hiding the strange black markings that adorned the whole of his right arm like a sleeve tattoo. Those unnerving red eyes fixed Elijah with a penetrating gaze. He couldn’t help it his eyes wandered to the demons anatomy and immediately blush a bright red, he was huge! He’d only ever seen his own and Adam’s, but he didn’t think that really counted as he had only been five.

A chuckle echoed through the large hall they were in. Elijah hesitantly looked around, trying to make out where he was. Nothing was familiar, he thought with rising panic. Where was he? What did this man want from him and more importantly how was he going to escape from here?

“You are in my home, human. It’s rather nice, if I do say so myself. I conjured it up while we were transporting through the hell portals.”

Elijah stood there slack jawed, hell portals? What?

“H-Hell?!” He managed to squeak out.

The demon raised an eyebrow.

“Well yes, of course. How else were we going to transport?” He asked.

Elijah was baffled, momentarily forgetting his predicament.

“So wait, we just transported through a hell portal?” He asked in amazement.

The demon smiled. “Yes, human we did.”

Elijah was excited; he’d just travelled through a portal how cool was that? Wait, what was he doing here again?

“Why did you kidnap me?”

The question came out steadier than he’d hoped.

The demon’s manner suddenly turned from friendly to sinister in a second and he started to advance on Elijah, who quickly started to back up.

The demon took another step forward and he took two back until he bumped into a wall. The predator suddenly sped up and blocked Elijah’s chance of escape bringing his hands either side of his head, caging him in.

The red eyes shone brightly and looked directly into Elijah’s blue ones.

“I did not kidnap you, human. Neither will I harm you, I already said this. You are my mystery and I will look after you until I can feed from you.”

Elijah’s breathing sped up, how can he not harm me if he’s going to eat me?

“Y-you say you won’t hurt me but you’re going to feed from me?” he managed to stutter out.

The demon smiled gently at him and pressed his naked body closer to Elijah’s.

“Do not worry, human. You will still be alive, I just want to eat your mystery.”

Elijah was puzzled, he didn’t have a mystery and he voiced his thoughts.

“Yes you do, and I’m going to take great pleasure in solving it.”

The demons voice dropped a few octaves and the word pleasure was spoken directly into Elijah’s ear causing him to shudder and a crimson blush work its way onto his cheeks.

The demon leant over Elijah and buried his face into his brown hair and inhaled deeply.

“Yes, it will be a most delicious riddle.”
