Plot Synopsis
Since September 11th, 2001, all people have ever seen on T.V. is the conflict in the Middle East. Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran... But what we don’t see is the hidden war, the one fought behind the scenes. The President says there is a war against terrorism, but war must have a battlefield. That is where the Air Force’s 353rd Special Operations Group comes in. Based out of Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Japan, the 353rd had a special mission: Eliminate the Russian terrorist group called the Neo-Bolsheviks, whose goal is to bring back the superpower of the USSR.
During the mission, however, the eight-man squad (then divided into two teams) lead by Lieutenant Mark Sanchez was captured and placed in a Prisoner of War like encampment just outside of Igarka, Russia. The Neo-Bolsheviks knew the value of the men, or more specifically, Mark, and used the men against the United States, threatening to kill each men if U.S. did not pull their troops out of the middle east. Unbeknownst to the men captured, only one of them would come out of the hell hole alive.
Gregory Shvernik, then the commander of the encampment, saw Mark as a treasure, and soon began singling him out for random acts of violence, rape, and torture; forcing him to watch the deaths of each one of his squad members. After each meeting with Mark, Gregory become more and more attracted to the man, and started to give the man more freedoms as his attraction grew. It wasn’t until an American ambush of the encampment and an action from Mark against his own country did either man realize that in the time they had spent in the camp, they had fallen in love with each other.
With this new realization, Mark and Gregory soon fled the encampment to look for allies, only to be caught in enemy gunfire, causing Gregory to become severely wounded. In a state of panic, Mark searched for an American camp, not caring that by that time he had been labeled as a traitor. Mark, after being arrested and interrogated, begged for Gregory to go to America, to save the man’s life. He had given up his position in the Air Force, and with the promise of never again applying for any branch of the military, was allowed to go back to America and care for the fallen Russian.
Once back in America, Mark was able to go back to his normal life as a lawyer in Los Angeles, California. Gregory stayed with Mark in his home in Pasadena, adjusting to a new life in America with a new person to care about.
