Four and Six, Eight and Ten, Thirteen and Fifteen

Okay here, next chapter, wonderful etc.

------------------

Four and Six. He looked on to the other boy with scrutinizing eyes- and didn’t seem too happy. He was still young, and didn’t understand the concept of friendship. Standing at only four years old, he glared at the other boy with his thumb in his mouth and his hair falling over his face. He wasn’t wearing a shirt, so his little body looked thinner than it should have been, ribs poking out of his sides naturally, not grotesquely. A darling little boy with sleek eyes and dark hair, pale skin and a delicate body. He stared, not even blinking.

The other boy was dressed in a school uniform, a pout on his face as he looked on to the younger kid with his arms across his chest. His bottom lip stuck out and he huffed as the younger of the two whined as his mom pushed him forward, toward his ‘new best friend’.

Aki stood, staring at Kei with a look of hate, his lips still wrapped around his thumb and his other arm behind his back, trying to swat his mother’s hands away from him. He whined suddenly and glared behind him at his mother who slapped his hand out- and away- from his mouth before smiling down at Kei. “Kei, this is Aki, you’ll play nicely with him right?” she asked, squatting down beside her son and pulling his wrist away from his mouth again as he had pulled his thumb back into his mouth again.

Kei shook his head. He had lighter brown hair, but those same sleek eyes. He stood taller than the younger boy and held an almost ‘sophisticated’ air to him. He was turning six soon, and he didn’t need a toddler to be his best friend, he had enough best friends as it was. All of them were bigger than this squirt by a landside, all this kid would do is cry and beg for his mother if Kei tried anything less than nice toward him.

They both glared at each other endlessly as Aki’s mother stood fully again in her tweed suit and pushed her long, sleek black hair over her shoulder again and walked away. Her heels clicking almost defiantly below her. Aki stared after his mother, not daring to look at Kei as he popped his thumb back into his mouth. Kei on the other hand, took a step toward the younger boy and yanked at his arm to get him to stop sucking his thumb, just like his mother had. Aki whined again and bit at Kei’s hand.

He retaliated, shoving Aki down to the ground and kicking sand at him. They were at the neighborhood playground- which was empty seeing as the sky looked like rain. Kei’s mother, Aki’s mother and father, and Kei’s mother’s boyfriend were all sitting on a bench on the far side of the park, within sight of the two boys. Aki instantly started wailing, rubbing his eyes of sand as Kei laughed, sitting down next to the other boy and scooping him up in his arms, planning on poking his eyes, but stopped when he saw how distraught the little boy was.

Kei held Aki in his arms, staring as the boy’s mouth wailed out and his hands started flailing, screaming for his mother, just as Kei suspected. His sleek eyes widened just slightly and he let a frown pass his lips, gently stroking the younger boy’s face until the other calmed enough for him to hear himself think even though it seemed that no thoughts could possibly pass through his mind at a time like this. What a pretty boy he was, almost pretty enough to be a girl. He found himself blushing slightly and he bit down on his lip as Aki let his eyebrows knit and stuffed his thumb in his mouth again. He wasn’t a baby, but he sure acted
like one.

Eight and Ten. Both boys stared at each other, just like they had the day they had. Only now, Aki was biting on his index finger’s nail, his eyes lowered to the ground. Kei had ‘taught’ Aki to stay quiet when he was around Kei and his friends, act like he had nothing to do with the older boys. Even though all of Kei’s friends could see that he admired the little boy. They all took turns pushing him into the sand and kicking dirt into his face. And aki took it, since he had been told by each of them that it was just how younger boys were meant to be treated.

One by one, when Kei wasn’t looking they spit at him and punched their tiny balled up fists into his stomach and kicked his legs. They weren’t the nicest boys in the world, and Kei was blind to it. Though when he saw Aki crying after his friends left, he did nothing but wrap his arms around the little boy and stroke his back like his mother did for him. Kei would run his fingers through his friend’s hair and sit on the ground before pulling the other boy into his lap and telling him that he would beat up all of his friends for hurting him.

At one point, Aki slid into Kei’s lap without permission, crying softly into his friend’s shoulder and trying to keep himself steady. He had a few bruises across his back, and his hair was tattered. Kei didn’t question, or act repulsed at the simple affection that the younger boy was giving him. He felt like Aki’s older brother, meant to protect him from the evils of the world [ahem playground] and comfort him like no one else could. The truth was, Aki never spoke- ever. In fact, Kei couldn’t recall a time when the young boy actually SPOKE to him. In classes, he heard teachers complaining that Aki refused to answer questions, or greet the teacher, or even speak to the principal.

Kei sighed slightly and looked down at the little boy in his arms, tilting his head to the side. “Aki?” he asked quietly, nuzzling into the younger boy’s neck like he had seen lovers do when it rained in their town. They were both sitting behind a large oak tree in the park, away from the sandbox where Aki was tormented.

Aki responded, glancing up at Kei, sleek eyes looking watered over as tears continued to spill over onto his cheeks. He was just as pretty as a girl now, despite his obviously boy physic, “Why don’t you talk?” He asked, his eyebrows knitting together as Aki looked distraught. The little boy spoke to his parents, but only in a hushed voice, only when spoken to. Kei pressed slightly on one of the boy’s bruises and he yelped. Of course he was capable of making noise, he had wailed when they were little kids.

“Because,” he said softly. His voice sounded like it was strained, his words not forming correctly as he spoke, “you told me not to.” The last bit came out as a whimper as if he expected to be hit for talking out of place, even though he had been asked a question, he was still fearful toward Kei, he was just so much bigger than he was.

Aki listened to everything that the older boy said, it just seemed right to do so. So naturally he listened to the command of not talking, and stayed silent for as long as he possibly could, only speaking to his parents. He wanted to stay out of the way like Kei had asked, because he admired him.

Kei bent his head and touched his lips to Aki’s cheek, pressing against a teardrop. The younger boy jerked away, staring at Kei with startled eyes, his mouth open slightly in confusion, but Kei just bent again and brushed against the younger boy’s own lips. It was a gentle, loving action, and it meant more to both of them than it should have.

That was their first kiss, both of them still at the age when ready to spring and cling to their mother’s legs and hold on for dear life if anything big enough to threaten them came along. It was terrifying, and exhilarating at the same time.

Thirteen and fifteen. Both boys stood in the halls of their school while their third period class was going on. Kei was pushing Aki against one of the lockers, kissing at his neck gently and gripping his rear firmly in his hands. His hair was bleached and he was wearing his uniform even though it was slightly ruffled. Those soft kisses against his neck turned into wet, sultry open mouthed kisses against Aki’s collar and shoulder. They hadn’t been found yet, but at the moment they couldn’t care if they were caught.

Aki loved nothing more than to be held against Kei, he loved Kei and Kei loved him. They had met when young and clung to each other since then. To put it simply, they were meant to stay together, never looking anywhere but at each other. When it rained, they snuck to the park and hid behind that oak tree, embracing like all of the other couples, stealing soft kisses every once in a while, lingering against each other throughout the whole storm until they couldn’t see their own hand in front of their face.

It was simple to say, they were meant for each other, they were meant to be together no matter what.

Aki still looked like a girl, his body was thin and his face was sculpted out of innocence. His hair was worn longer than normal, reaching his shoulders and falling over his eyes as he stared up at Kei, smirking slightly. What a silly boy, smirking.

He still didn’t talk much, despite the fact that Kei had told him that it was quite alright to talk to people normally. Without conversation, Aki’s only friend was Kei.

A/N Thank you for the reviews, they mean much much

Geddai- thanks for all that jazz, I tried to make it 'powerful' but I don't think it came across like that.

Saratog- Muchos Gracias!
