Never too late...

Hi guys! How have you been? Sorry for the late update! I've been quite busy ther last couple of days, with school and all...
Disclaimer: Aki and Shoji belomngs to me, but the cool lyric is all "Three days Grace"!
Anyway, here's chapter two of "The One", I hope you'll like it!!

*Never too late...*
Three weeks later was the big day. The house was on the other end and had been it the last week. Shoji and Aki talked a lot, considering there were a lot work to do, they had helped each other with the tasks they’ve been given, even though there had been times were Ashley had demanded Aki’s help. Every night they’ve been too exhausted to any other activity than sleeping.
It was a Saturday and everything went just as planned. It was a beautiful wedding with at least 200 guests, most of them from the Haruka family or friends of that family. The Yamasaki family wasn’t that big at all. The entire family of Shoji’s dad was gone, so there were only the family of his mother and they didn’t treat him any better at all. Shoji was like the black sheep in the family, so he hated family parties.
Aki could feel that Shoji wasn’t in the best mood and heard many patronizing comments he received. He felt sorry for Shoji and wanted to cheer him up, but Ashley kept bugging him, there was no way she would ever leave him alone, so he had to watch his friend suffer from a distance.

It was past midnight when everyone was out for wishing the married couple good luck as they drove home, that Aki finally lost sight of Ashley and hurried away from the crowd to look after Shoji. He found Shoji out back of the house. Sitting alone in the dark, starring out to the empty air. Aki watched him for awhile in silence.
“Are you okay?” Aki asked. Shoji looked up, as if it was just now he’d find out he was not alone.
“No.” he answered simply. His voice emotionless. Aki walked over and sat down on the trashcan beside Shoji. They were quiet for awhile before Aki broke the silence.
“I know how it feels…” Shoji looked at him.
“I doubt you do…”
“No really I do. My father does it all the time.”
“To me it sounds like he is damn proud of you.”
“Then you haven’t heard him talk to me, we fight almost every day. He’s constantly trying to control my life, making my acting and stuff, but I seriously don’t wanna act!”
“Then what do you wanna do?” Aki thought about it for a couple of minutes.
“Sing… I think I wanna write and sing…” Shoji smiled.
“I can imagine that… I think you would be a great singer…” Aki looked at Shoji and smiled.
“Thanks… What about you?” Shoji shrugged.
“Don’t know… Never really thought about it… How do you know that you won’t die tomorrow or that you’re life’s gonna be a hell? If you don’t have any dreams or plans for you’re future, then you won’t be disappointed when it turns out that you don’t really have a future…”
“That’s an extremely depressing way to look at it…”
“It’s only realistic… Life sucks man, that’s a fact!” Shoji sounded bitter. Aki shook his head. Shoji really seemed to be depressed and Aki had begun to understand why, with a family like that and all, but he felt that it was not just about the family or the attraction confusion. There was something else worrying him.
“You really have a fucked up personality, ya’ now that?” Shoji smirked bitterly.
“A fucked up personality with a fucked up life how does that sound?”
“Are you life really that fucked? Aren’t there just one little thing positive in you’re life?”
“Not really. What would…?” Shoji was interrupted by Aki’s suddenly kiss attack and once again Shoji couldn’t seem to reject it, even if he wanted to. Before they knew it, they both lay on the ground.
You say you have nothing positive in you’re life? Aki thought, I’ll prove you’re wrong…! I’ll prove to you that there’s something in this sucky life of yours that’s worth living for! He slipped a hand under Shoji’s white shirt and felt him shiver beneath him. Aki broke the kiss and smirked as he attacked Shoji neck with bites and kisses, while his hand drove slow and teasingly down Shoji’s silky skin and down to his most sensitive spot under the black pants. Shoji moaned at Aki’s gentle touch. It encouraged Aki to go on. He unbuttoned both their shirts and everything else that could be unbuttoned and had his way…

Aki got of Shoji and both of them were panting hard, trying to catch their breath.
“Whoa… That was some ride!” Shoji said between his breaths.
“Tell me about it… You still think there’s nothing positive in your life?”
Shoji didn’t answer. That feeling appeared again. No, no, NO! He thought, go away! I can’t! Shoji rose and took his clothes back on. Not once he looked at Aki.
“We better go home, it’s late…”

“Is something wrong?” Aki asked when they stood outside Shoji’s room.
“No, why would you think that?” He still didn’t look at Aki. Aki looked at him worried.
“You just seem more and more depressed… You know you can always count on me, right?”
Shoji opened the door.
“Thanks, but I’m really okay…”
When the door was closed behind him he collapsed on the floor. His entire body ached, but it was not from the sex. The sex had been wonderful, it was something else. He was afraid, so damn afraid and so damn confused. He recognized some parts of this feeling. He’d felt something like, when he’d been with Jake, only this felt stronger – somehow. But he couldn’t, he couldn’t fall in love with Aki, it was destined never to work. Even if they loved each other, it wouldn’t work, their parents wouldn’t allow it - they had other plans. What would they do if they found out? Shoji wouldn’t feel the pain of loosing again, he’d made himself a promise.
Besides, Shoji was about to die within a month. They would come after him, case him everywhere he went, until he was dead and buried.
Shoji rose from the floor and went to the draw. There were still some drugs left. He lighted one of them and felt how his body immediately relaxed. Shoji sat on the floor, by his bed and looked empty at the white ceiling as he blew out thick and white smoke.
It’s hopeless, a voice inside him said, why not just end it? Why wait until they do it painfully? Why not do it yourself and then do it without pain?
Shoji rose from the floor, he shunted the drug and left his room.
The kitchen was dim and silent. The full moon shinned though the small windows. Shoji went straight to the drawer. His pale face reflected in the cold steel blade. This will do it… he thought.

Aki woke suddenly. He was soaked in sweat and his heart pounded like mad. Something was wrong; something had woken him. He couldn’t remember. He only knew that he had had trouble fall asleep, he couldn’t stop thinking of Shoji. When he had finally fallen asleep he had nightmares about Shoji, but what he had dreamt, he couldn’t remember. It was only an half an hour ago, that he feel asleep and now he was completely awake, there was no way he could fall asleep, before he knew Shoji was okay.
Aki rushed out of bed and went straight to Shoji’s room, he was not there, but a funny smell filled the room. Aki didn’t have time to think about it, he had to find Shoji! The kitchen! A voice told him.
No, no please not the kitchen, Aki prayed that his worst fear was without reason. Maybe he only went to the kitchen to get a light night snack! He said to himself. The voice interfered in his mind again: Yeah right! You believe it! Aki shook his head. Shut up, he screamed inside himself, shut the fuck up!
Aki reached the kitchen and with shaking hands he turned on the light. He was about to scream for real, when he saw what the light revealed...

The dinning table was placed in the middle of the room, a nice wooden table with six matching chairs. Good, comfortable chairs. It was rather expensive. The floor was a tiled floor, black and white. The entire kitchen was held in an old farm theme. Ms. Yamasaki loved this kitchen, it was her who had demanded it to be like this and Mr. Haruka had had no choice than to obey her will. No wonder Shoji had chosen this room. It was his mother’s most beloved room and now it was ruined.
The fine wooden table, one chair and the floor beneath it, was covered in red blood. Shoji sat on one of the chairs, his head and upper part of the body lay across the table. One arm lay at the table; it was cut open deep from hand to elbow. The other arm hang, lifeless, from the table, this too had been cut open from hand to elbow. Red blood streamed from both arms out on the table and the floor. Aki felt the panic raising inside him.
“Shoji!!” he shouted and ran to the lifeless body of Shoji.

Never Too Late... (Aki)
This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong
Who would have guessed it
I will not leave alone
Everything that I own
To make you feel like it's not too late
It's never too late

Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late

No one will ever see
This side reflected
And if there's something wrong
Who would have guessed it
And I have left alone
Everything that I own
To make you feel like
It's not too late
It's never too late

Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late

The world we knew
Won't come back
The time we've lost
Can't get back
The life we had
Won't be ours again

This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong

Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late (It's never too late)
It's not too late
It's never too late
