The bar was dark and smoky, the music loud and throbbed in your head. Nozara slipped in, followed shortly by Yuki, who seemed to have grown attached to Nozara’s side. The shy younger sister always seemed to stay close to her older sibling in places like this, not wanting to get caught alone by anyone. With a comforting smile, Nozara wrapped her arm around Yuki’s shoulder.
“It’s alright, sis! Nothing is going to happen to you! I promise!” As if that was all it took, Yuki weaved her way to the bar to order a Strawberry Daiquiri. Nozara shook her head as she watched Yuki sit at the bar, aimlessly flirting with one of the cuter guys there. With skilled hands, she braided the length of her hair, tying it securely before bouncing off into the mass of dancing bodies. She completely lost herself in the rhythm of the beat pounding in her head, closing her eyes against everything around her.
At first, she didn’t realize that anyone was with her, so lost in the moment. Nozara opened her eyes only to collide with the brightest pair of green eyes she’d ever seen. Startled, she jerked back, only to realize that she was held firmly in his arms. She grew more confused by the minute as she noticed that her arms were wrapped around him. Clearly they had been dancing, but she couldn’t recall ever getting even close to this very large man. With searching eyes, she looked around the room, spotting her sister still at the bar and watching her with wide eyes.
“Ummm… I’m sorry! I didn’t reali---“ Nozara didn’t even finish her sentence before Yuki sweep her away from his arms, huddling with her in the far corner of the club.
“Oh my god!! Nozzie!!! That guy is soooo hot! What is his name? Wow! He’s a good dancer too!! Nozzie?” Nozara simply stared at Yuki, completely dumbfounded.
“Yuki… I don’t know who he is. I don’t even understand how I got in his arms!” Her younger sister laughed, replaying the whole scene to her.
“He just came up to you and touched your waist. You swung around, looked like you were about to hit him, but he caught your hands and spun you back around.” Yuki paused to smirk over at the man; he stood not too far away, as if he were waiting to get his hands back on Nozara. “He pressed you against his chest and you two just started dancing… You never once opened your eyes… till now, anyway.” Nozara let her eyes roam over to said man, allowing herself to take in the sight of him. He towered over most in the club; his raven wing black hair hung to his shoulders and was sweep back into a ponytail at the nape of his neck. Broad of chest and thin of waist, he looked much like a Greek god. Not overly muscled, but not a shrimp like her former boyfriend.
“Oh… wow…” Blinking rapidly, Nozara grabbed Yuki’s arm and headed for the door, only to be stopped by a very large hand. “Shit…” At first, she refused to turn around, but soon twisted around to look up at him.
“Yes?”
“Where are you running off to?” His voice was deep, silky, like a caress over her skin and it sliced through her like a knife.
“I… umm… home! Yes. We need to get home, it’s late.” Hoping he would let go, she lunged forward, only to be jerked back against the hard wall of his chest, her mouth pressed to her ear as he spook, making her shiver.
“Where’s home?”
“Home is where I want to go.”
“Can I come with you?”
“No! I don’t even know you!”
“I’m Vorpal…”
”Nozara…”
”You know me now…” She heard the grin in his voice and she stiffened in his arms.
“Knowing your name, doesn’t mean I know you. Now release me!” Half expecting him to tighten his grip instead of letting go, she was taken slightly off guard when he opened his arms to let her tumble from his embrace.
“Fine. I’ll be seeing you around, babe.” With that, he disappeared into the crowd, leaving Nozara with a thundering heart beat and ragged breath.
“You alright, sis?” Yuki’s soft voice drew her out of the trance she seemed to have been left in, smiling at her younger sibling as she nodded.
“Yes… I’m fine. Let’s go home. I’m going to have to deal with ‘him’ tomorrow and I’ll need rest for that.” Yuki nodded and left with her, pausing to look over at Vorpal. He looked back at Yuki, arching a winged brow at the mischievous smile on the young woman’s face. She darted over and stuffed a small piece of paper in his hand.
“Just in case you want to get a hold of her again.” He watched her leave, blinking rather dumbfound.
“You did what!?” Nozara stared at Yuki for a moment, not really grasping what she had been told. “You gave him my number?” Yuki nodded, laughing as she flopped down on Nozara’s bed.
“Great! Lose one to gain another, ne?” With a sigh, she slipped into her nightclothes and slide into bed as her younger sister disappeared from the room with a sweet ‘goodnight’.
“I can’t believe her! Why did she have to give him my number? He’s too much male too handle, right? Right…” Nozara continued to mumble to herself until she drifted off to sleep.
