Who Are You?

wOOt i got around to posting second chapter. no yaoi action yet that\'s in the next chapter. trust me it\'ll be worth the wait!! now onto the story.

He looked down the sleeping kid in his arms, words ringing in his ears. Before he realized it a soft whisper came from his lips \"I won\'t." Shaking his head slightly, what was he saying? Shrugging mentally, he stood carrying the boy in his arms. Boots crunching seemingly in rhythm to the sounds of the night. Far away from that tavern, through town, past the forest... by this time his arms were getting a bit tired, though one would never guess it. Down the end of an old dirt road, far from any houses or noise was his house. Managing to open the door and kick it open with his foot, he stepped in and kicked it closed again. He carried the boy upstairs to his room, settling him gently into the bed with warm blankets and soft mattresses. Then made his way back downstairs, his thoughts running over one another. He took off his boots and socks, always more comfortable in bare feet, and then took off his unbuttoned shirt. Leaving him in only his jewelry and leather pants and looking unbelievably gorgeous. Grabbing a book from the mantle he sat on the couch in front of the fire and began to read.

he was floating, but then he wasn\'t. Ah there it is. I'm falling again. Eyes opened to the abyss that surrounded him, pulling him further down into its depths. I must be sleeping, it\'s never this clear when I'm awake. He already knew it wouldn't\' do any good to look around, it\'d only make him dizzy. As always happened when he had this dream he felt himself somewhat slow down, so that he was hovering in the darkness. Whispers came to his ear. A seed of destruction has been sown, but payment not given. Are you ready to exact the price? Yes he thought, knowing that strange voice whoever it was, would hear him. The numbing overtook him as the darkness finally came alive; swarming down his throat reaching into his heart...he had never found out what happened when the darkness reached that point, because as always, he woke up. His eyes snapped open, fog gone now. He stared at the ceiling and blinked a few times. Where was he? How'd he get here? And most importantly who knew he was here? He groaned and moved slowly. Every muscle in his body protested to the movement, but at least all limbs were present and accounted for. He reached up and gingerly touched the scrape on his cheek. His face winced at the contact and pain blossomed from the touch. Well at least I can feel things. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. After wetting his lips and swallowing a few times he tried again. \"Is anyone there?\" was the hoarse question. Being the impatient boy he was, he slowly but surely swung his body out of bed and tried to make it to the door

His ears perked. The boy was up. Setting the book down, he stood up and made his way upstairs quietly on bare feet. The Gods must have molded this one because he looked like pure sin. Reaching up he brushed his shaggy hair away from his face and stopped just before reaching the door, what was he doing... keeping a boy who could well be a fugitive in his home, letting him into his private space. He groaned softly and leaned back against the wall, his head tilting back. Good ole Tobor always been too sweet for his own good, except for that once night. Wait not going down that road, or the memories would take over and he\'d start hating himself again and right now that\'s not what he wanted. Pushing away from the wall he let his hand settle on the doorknob hesitating for a brief moment turning it and open the door. He stepped in with unparallel grace. His gaze fell on the boy and he tilted his head, his cross earring dangling against his cheek. \"You alright?\" That haunting surreal voice again. This man standing there with bare torso and feet, no words... no words to describe him. A soft smile curled his lips as he waited for the answer.

\"um, alright as someone in my position can be I guess...\" was the quiet but not whispered reply as he fully took in Tobor for the first time. He wanted to burst into flames right then. The man before him was beautiful to the point of being sinful, like some angel that had fallen from grace but was still too good for hell. His silver bangs covered his eyes, and a light blush tinged his cheeks. That part of him that always ran was screaming at him as loud as it could. This man could be from the institute no matter what he says! You can\'t trust someone that beautiful it\'s not natural and things like that lead back to the institute! He could- he mentally punched the voice out to prevent further ranting. Those ocean blue eyes of his suddenly found something very interesting on the floor while his arm pulled up the shirt that was slipping down yet again

He nodded as though he could read the boys thoughts... and in a way he could, he could see them plain as day in his eyes. "Would you like some food?\" Walking across the room with a laid back effortless ease and sat on the bed. He didn\'t know what to say or do. He didn\'t know this kid and it sort of freaked him out that he was letting this boy stay with him, but he didn\'t let it show. Reaching out he playfully ruffled the boy\'s hair then brushed his bangs from his face. His hand dropped to his lap and he cleared his throat lightly.

\"a sandwich would be nice\" he tilted his head and looked him in the eyes. The contact stayed for a moment, autumn fire looking into ocean waves, but was interrupted by a grumble from Serya\'s stomach. \"Uhhhh....\" his blush intensified and he felt even more embarrassed than he had already. Wow that was perfect timing, just like in this those manga\'s I used to read. \"Maybe some water too...\" he didn\'t know why but he felt so unworthy right now, like he wasn\'t even worthy to stand in this guys\' presence let alone have his kindness. Then again that could be his inferiority complex kicking in. he never was much of a social butterfly, someone confirmed it daily for him. It used to be a woman, my mom I think.... he shook his head. The memory was gone and there was no sense in trying to bring back something that wasn\'t there. He'd only hurt himself like last time

He nodded \"Come on downstairs.\" That being said he stood and walked from the room, down the stairs, through the living room and into the kitchen. Opening the fridge he rummaged through and found sandwich makings... making a ham and cheese sandwich, sticking it on a paper plate and putting it on the bar. Going around he pulled out a stool for the boy then went back, sliced up some tomato and lettuce putting in a bowl beside the plate in case the kid wanted it, mustard and mayo were there too. Pulling out a glass he poured him a cup of fresh cold water, putting that next to his plate as well. Then he just stood there, not sure what else he could do. A smile touched his lips as he laughed at himself for worrying so much.

Serya slowly walked down the stairs after Tobor, not really sure of what to do. He was acting exactly like a puppy would when you just brought it home from the shelter or some other place. He was curious about everything that he saw, even though to most people it probably wasn\'t that remarkable. But he hadn\'t been outside the institute for most of his life. It had been ages since he\'d seen a normal home and now that he thought about it, could he even remember anything else before that? A buzzing in his head told him to stop delving in his memory banks and start focusing on the present. He saw the sandwich that had obviously been set out for him. He controlled himself so that he wouldn\'t pounce on the food immediately. He sat down and assembled the sandwich with the offered lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and mustard and ate it slowly. Only two things that kept him from gulping it in one bite. One, it would be very rude to throw away all table manners just because he was literally starving. And two, he hadn\'t eaten a decent meal for god knows how long. If he ate too fast his stomach wouldn\'t be able to handle the food. As it was, he barely made it halfway through the sandwich before he knew he had to stop. His stomach just wasn\'t gonna allow a normal lunch right now. He did drink all of the water at one sitting however and felt much better for it afterwards. He turned to his host, smiling softly like a small child would. \"Thank you for the food and hospitality sir\"

He watched the boy eat... it was obvious it had been quite a while since he had eaten and he was forcing himself to take it slow. Tilting his head he just smiled \"Not a problem at all.\" He walked over to him and took the boy\'s hand tenderly \"I\'m Tobor.\" That\'s all the kid needed to know, last names weren\'t important. He ruffled the boy\'s hair again and let go of his hand. The kid looked as though he could use a good bath and a decent pair of clothes, but Tobor kept his mouth shut, if the kid wanted a bath he could ask, and if he asked Tobor would say yes and would dig out some clean clothes. \"Tell me what did I get myself into kid?\" He needed to know it was only fair since he was letting the little one stay here.

he felt giddy as Tobor held his hand. Such warmth pulsed through the hand, it almost made it seem like he was in a dream. One of the normal ones that people had when they wanted to escape reality. The question passed through his head. He had no real idea how to answer it since most times even he didn\'t know what was going on around him. He guessed he could tell Tobor the gist of it \"I've recently runaway, for about the 20 billionth time, from the Vatican Institute for the Gifted. It's a school for, special cases I guess you could call it. Basically I think my parents dumped me there when I was 3, I think. I can\'t really remember all that well.\" he shrugged. Memory problems were something that all students at the institution experienced. It wasn\'t uncommon for people to wear name tags so that they wouldn't\' forget who they were. Of course the name tags were promptly removed by the professors and people ended up with new names nearly every day. He sighed and continued \"either way it\'s more like a research lab than a school, and I really don\'t wanna be part of their experiment. I'm kinda like their pet science project. Either way this has gotta be my first successful escape attempt, probably my last if they find me again\"

He growled softly, he didn\'t like the idea of experiments preformed on people, especially young people. \"If you\'ll let me I\'ll keep you safe.\" What??? Tobor have you completely gone mad? No... Somehow for some reason he felt protective of this kid. He didn\'t want this kid hurt any more and if he could help it he wouldn\'t be. He picked the boy up into his arms, a strange cross of friend and lover and carried over to the couch, just holding him in a reassuring manner. His heart skipped a beat and he sighed softly. The little one felt good in his arms. Wait... stop that, he\'s only a teenager you perv. Gently he rocked him back and forth and stared into the fire, the color of the flames making his eyes seem to glow and shimmer.

Serya meeped when Tobor suddenly picked him up, but soon relaxed again as the familiar warmth seeped into him again. His eyes closed halfway, making his blue eyes almost look black. This man had just offered to keep him safe if he\'d just give the word. But could he? Was he willing to put Tobor in danger just to give him a feeling of comfort? After all the institution was a threat, but the threat that came from himself could prove to be even greater. But he was so tired of running, so tired of being alone, and so tired in general. \"If that\'s what you really want to do\" he couldn\'t bind this man this man to him, if he wanted to protect him he\'d do it of his own free will. He turned his head and leaned it against Tobor\'s shoulder. \"I'm gonna fall asleep again if you keep doing this\" he whispered and yawned, not really minding. After all, he was very comfortable.
