Avgreyzan POV

I had now been awake for the last fifteen years since my powers started returning to me. I had been practicing my magic. I was able to make the inside of the crystal exist in a different realm but couldn’t yet break free. I changed the inside and had a beautiful bedroom created for me inside the crystal. On one wall, there was a large bed covered in a light green spread. In the corner, taking up a floor wall, was a bathing pool. It has a little waterfall running from the top corner of the room.

I have been locked up for over a hundred years now. I still haven’t had the dream to show me who my Chosen are but sometimes I think that I feel their presence nearby but none of them had ventured into the city. I hope that they make it to me soon.

I soon got bored with practicing my magic and I switched to weapons. I worked hard trying no to lose my skills since I didn’t have an opponent to spar against. I tired myself out and decided to take a soak in the pool. I gathered up all of my oils from beside the bed and removed my sweaty tunic and leggings. I slipped into the water adjusting the temperature to cool with a thought. I washed my hair and body. When I was done, I rubbed the vanilla scented oil over my skin. I put on a pair of loose fitting bottoms on.

I decided to rest for the rest of the evening. As I passed into sleep, I realized that I wasn’t having a normal dream. I was dreaming of my Chosen Ones. I was shocked to find that six had been chosen for me. I guess that Chisa was right and I needed more time to find the ones that I needed. When I awoke early the next morning, I found 6 lilac spheres lying on the bed around me. I hope that this means that they are coming to me soon.

I use my telepathic skills and my blue sphere of communication to reach out for my mother wanting to share my happiness that I have finally been allowed to see those whom I shall spend the rest of my life with.

”Greetings to you my son.”

“It is good to hear your voice, mother. I just wanted to talk with you about my dream from last night. My Chosen Ones have been revealed to me. I find it hard to believe but I have been blessed with six mates.”
“That is quite an impressive number. I think that it has been thousands of years since anyone has had so many mates. Most now only have two or three.”

“Are things well at home?”

“Everything is fine here. Your father is anxious to have you back with us.”

“I only have about a month before the blood lust begins again. I am hoping to be united with my Chosen before then.”

We spent some time just reminiscing over the past and she brought me up to date about things that had occurred during my captivity. All of a sudden, I felt a wrenching in my heart and was unsure of what was causing me such pain.

“I must go mother. Something is called out to me. I hope to speak to you again soon.”

“Farewell my son. We all hope to see you in a month’s time.”

I slowly returned to my room within the crystal. I found that it was sounds from outside the crystal that had brought me back. Someone was crying at the base of the crystal. I was shocked by the knowledge that this was one of my Chosen. I hadn’t even felt him approach the village.

Christian’s POV

I had finally arrived in Salimnai. It had taken me almost three weeks to journey here from my village in the mountains. This is the furthest that I have ever been from Vagnet but it isn’t my home any longer. All that tied me to that place was gone and I was on my own for the first time in sixteen years.

Flashback

I stand on the edge of the group. I feel so out of place. Every other child standing at the edge of the meadow has something to look forward to. I do not. I had begun to get anxious about my future. All the other children in the village had been introduced to their future mate but I still had yet to know who mine was. My parents hadn’t told me anything about my future yet. Tomorrow is my birthday and I don’t know what I’m going to do if it turns out that I am destined to live my life alone. I crossed the village slowly, leaving the other children behind. I quietly opened the door and slipped inside. I didn’t want my parents to know that I was home early. I wanted to be alone. I went down the hallway swiftly, not making any noise as I passed by the closed doors. As I reached my parents door, I saw that it was slightly open. I was going to hurry past, when I heard voices coming from inside.

“We need to tell him,” mother says.

“I don’t think that this is the right time. We don’t know how he will react,” says father.

“The seer told us that we had to tell him by the time that he was ten! His birthday is tomorrow, it must be done before he changes his fate. He needs to know about his future.”

“I am still not sure if this is the right course of action.”

I can’t stand it any longer. I have the right to know what is going to happen to me. I thrust the door open and strode into their room.

“What aren’t you two telling me?”

Father and mother look at each other. Seeing that my father isn’t going to tell me what I need to know, I turn my green gaze upon my mother. With one last glance at her husband, she finally speaks.

“When you were born, we did as all new parents in the village do. The shaman scryed for a mate for you in our village and all the surrounding ones but none was found. We didn’t know what to do. We hoped that this didn’t mean that there was no one for you. I hoped that you had a mate from somewhere farther away. Three days after your birth, caravan came passing through. I was sitting outside with you, rocking you in your cradle. An old woman approached me. She looked upon your sleeping face before speaking.”

“I can help you find the answers that you seek,” she said. “Your son has an interesting destiny before him. If you wish, I shall make it so that he can see the one meant for him.”

“I quickly agreed to her request. She took your little hand in hers and seemed to enter some sort of trance. It went on for a long while. Your father walked over just before she opened her eyes.”

“It is done,” she said. “You must tell him all that has happened by the time that he is 10 years old. To wait any longer, will cause heartache and leave him spending eternity alone. Do not give him the sphere until he is sixteen years old.”

“As I watched, a small pink and red sphere formed over your body and floated over to me. I clasped it in my hand. I could feel so much love and warmth coming from it. I promised to do as she requested. Now you know the whole story.”

I was stunned by this information but strangely elated to. Now I know that there is someone special waiting for me and life doesn’t seem so bad anymore.

Time passed and I was blessed with the gift of healing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t strong enough to save my father when he was injured. He died when I was fourteen. Mother’s health then started to get worse after father died. I knew that she was only hanging on for me so that she could keep her promise.

On the morning of my sixteenth birthday, she handed me a brightly wrapped package.

“Your future resides in here my son. Please don’t open the package until I am gone. I know that you will leave this place and search for your love. Don’t ever forget about us. I know that my time here is coming to an end. Please stay here with me until I am gone.”

I stayed at her bedside all day and night. Just as the sun was rising over the mountains, she slipped away peacefully. I carried her body down to the shaman. He agreed to take care of everything for me.

When I returned home, I retrieved the package she had given me. I went to my room and lay upon the bed. I removed the wrapping until the small sphere was in my hand. The moment my hand closed around it, I was flooded with so many images and feelings. I now had a purpose. I packed my belongings and left the village. I pointed the glider away from all I had known. I knew deep in my heart that I would never return here. I didn’t hesitate to seek out my future.
