***Disclaimer: The characters portrayed below are my own, sprung from my own lil twisted mind. Please ask before using them (they really don\'t like to be yanked from my mind without warning). They are going to at some point get into adult situations. If you don\'t like that idea, please leave this page now. Oh and if you really like it and wanna post it else where, please ask first. Any emails to me need to include AFF in the subject line otherwise they will be deleted.***

Yaoi. The word tickled something in the back of his mind. He knew he knew what the term meant, but it wasn’t coming to him for some reason. Yet, he didn’t want to show his ignorance to Justin, he wanted the writer to like him, so he blustered his way through it. “Yaoi? Really? I like yaoi. May I read it?”

Inwardly Desimir was kicking himself, wondering whatever had possessed him to say something like that. Now the man would want to talk about it with him and he had no idea what to say. Perhaps he could read a bit of the story then it would make sense and…ah, who was he kidding, he would have to admit his ignorance eventually. Right now though, he was hoping for it to be later, not sooner.

The man liked yaoi. Now there was a plot twist that Justin hadn’t been expecting. Studying Desimir’s face, he thought he saw a shadow of doubt cross the marvelous features, but wasn’t sure. What could he say now? To say no to him would seem rude, but he did say that he liked yaoi – so why not show him?

“Sure,” he found himself saying, even as he minimized the blank document he had open for his observations so that the story showed on the screen. There wasn’t much to the story yet, only about 16 or 17 pages, but enough for a reader to get a hint of what was to come.

Desimir smiled over at him as he pulled the laptop closer, and Justin felt contentment wash through him at the sight. For once, for some reason, all felt right in the world.

As Desimir was reading, the waitress came back with their coffees and Justin lost himself in preparing his own. Two creamers, four packs of sugar, a quick stir and it was ready. It gave him something to do, something to occupy himself while waiting for the other to finish reading.

Hands were cupped around the warm mug as he sipped it slowly, gaze resting on the raven-haired man, eyes taking in the reactions that were flitting across his face as he read. Desimir seemed lost in the story, teeth pulling his lower lip into his mouth, his head absently nodding as he read.

Desimir shot a smile at Justin as he tugged the notebook closer to him. A few keystrokes and he was up at the top of the document. Once there he started to read, quickly getting lost in the words that seemed to draw him into the intricate world of anguish and love.

As he read the meaning of yaoi came back to him, male on male love. And this one was rather well written. Normally he thought of yaoi as having to do with anime series, not general male/male relationships in literature, but Justin had probably used to term to cloak what he was writing, figuring that he wouldn’t know what it was.

The further he got into the story, the more compelled he was to read it. The characters seemed to jump off the page at him; he could see them in his mind. Plus, it was realistic. No fantasies or sugar coating, it was a very real description of what life could be like for a young gay couple in their first year of college.

At some point, he realized that the waitress had brought over fresh coffee and he lifted the glass to his lips, blowing on the warm liquid before taking a drink of the bitter liquid.

A moment or two later, he came to the end of what was written and just looked up at Justin. “Well? What happens? Does he live? Does he die? Will he end up hating Mathew for saving him?”
