Chapter 18- Confessions by the Sea
Romance... ahh... but no sex. I was considering a sex scene for this, but decided not to this time... After all, it's not ALWAYS about sex... more like just 95% of the time.
Chapter 18
Once back on the main road, it was only a full day to reach the town of Kials. It was a busy place, filled with the smell of fish being sold and salty air from the sea nearby. Boats of all shapes and sizes were docked here, from traveling boats to fishing ones. Once they had settled down, Ayisa decided to explore the town for Antros, while Rekia and Evia went to relax in thier rooms. Rekia had set his spear down when a knock came. He turned to open the door to see Evia behind it. "Can I help you Evia?"
"I just wanted to talk." Evia responded, sitting herself on the bed. Rekia leaned against the wall opposite of her, watching as she looked around aimlessly. After a few minutes of silence, Evia finally spoke up again. "Rekia, do you... remember how it was?"
Rekia didn't answer right away, but merely shifted his position a little. "Yeah, I still remember, although I don't think about it very often."
"Oh I see..." Evia said, a little downhearted.
Rekia seemed to notice this for he moved over and sat next to her. "You know, as soon as I became the Guard Captain, I went back to our little village to see you." Evia looked to him surprised. "I never found you anywhere though. People said you left the village, didn't say where or why. I looked around the surrounding area, but when I couldn't find you..." Rekia looked to Evia, who stared back, "I thought I lost you."
Evia blushed at this, and turned away quickly. Rekia continued to speak. "I remember, every time I got in trouble, you were always there, ready to bail me out. I guess that's one reason I went to join the royal guard. I wanted to be the one that saved you for a change."
Evia looked back to Rekia, her blush alot less noticable. "Well, you did actually. You saved us all from Idora."
"Yeah well..." Rekia said, somewhat nervous. "It was nothing really. I just wish that we could end this soon." They stayed silent for what felt like forever, but it was only a few more minutes until Rekia spoke again. "You know, if you want you can come back with us to the castle. I'm sure we could arrange something for you."
Evia looked dumbstruck and suddenly a wild impluse came over her. Before she could think about what she was doing, or how Rekia would react, she reached over and kissed him. A comforting warmth spread from the touch of thier lips, inching across under Evia's skin. Rekia seemed distracted at the sudden kiss she gave him, but soon he found himself comfortably leaning into it. Once they parted, Evia blushed so fierce it seemed her whole head had turned red. Rekia seemed breathless about it.
"I'm sorry Rekia, I don't know what-" But she was cut off from saying anything more, as it was her turn to feel surprised when Rekia kissed her back, pressing her close to him. He deepened the kiss, tracing her lips with his tounge. Her lips opened of thier own accord when she felt them, as thier tounges slipping over each other, tasting each other's sweet flavor. "Rekia..."
"I always liked you... Evia. But... I never thought that you would ever care for someone like me. Always saving me when I was in trouble, I wanted to be someone strong for you. Someone you could depend on..."
"Rekia..." Evia said, nearly whispering, as tears formed in her eyes. She threw herself onto him in a hug, embracing him as she felt his strong arms encase her in a pool of warmth. "Rekia, I always loved you. But you went away before I could tell you anything... I left to search for you, but when I didn't find you, I settled down in a small place in the wood... I thought I wouldn't see you either..."
Rekai held her close, as the world seemed to fall away from them, leaving nothing but this moment, this place, that would streach on forever. When he finally let go, Evia seemed to want to cling on, but Rekia held her hand. "Evia, right now I would love nothing more to give in to my desire, but we have to wait. Ayisa is still in danger and we have to protect her."
Evia seemed downhearted, but hugged Rekia anyway. He led her back to her room, giving her a kiss at the door before heading back. Evia entered her room, to see Ayisa there already, in her own bed. Ayisa looked to her and smiled. "So, how did everything go."
Evia smiled back and went to her own bed, before laying down. "I think everything will be ok. I have a good feeling."
At the entrence to Kials Port, a figure stumbled in the darkness, gripping his left arm. He dragged his feet, forcing himself foward to get into the town and a place to rest. He fell down and sat at the entrence, sleep claiming his tired body.
