---------------------------------------------------------------

In her fit extreme fit of anger Kaire stormed away from the safety of the Shi Palace. How could she have let her self become so weak?! Firstly, she failed to hurt Kristian when she wanted to. She failed to kill that little Priss of a girl that was now married to the man she wanted. Oh and She didn’t even have him yet. Lucian was a whole other can of worms.

He came and just took her away from the temple and put a damned inhibitor stone on her forehead. She could normally break the spell holding it but this was much stronger magic holding it on. She could never have mustered the strength and magic to remove this one. Kaire scolded her self mentally for letting any of this happen.

“This is Not even fair! How could I just let this happen? Am I that weak?”

The infuriated maiden made her way along strange trails without even paying attention to where she was going. Kaire didn’t see that she was leaving the protection of Lyre Forest and the Shi.

“When I get back to that palace I am going to hurt them. You wait and see. I’ll walk right in there and..”

“You will what? I doubt you’ll be walking any where.”

“Uh.” She looked up. Kaire didn’t like what she saw. In fact she didn’t like it at all. It was enough to silence the maiden for a moment. “Oh Crap. I have the feeling that I am not in Lyre anymore.”

“Lady you just said a mouthful.”

A blue haired man stood. His eyes were Blood red and he wore a long black shirt that covered his pants at least to his knees. A sword belt latched around it to give the shirt some kind of conformity to his body around his hips.

“I was cozy you know. Yeah but YOU just had to leave the forest didn’t you? The master called me away from warm little fire and sais go take care of that mouthy little chaos maiden. Of course I Can’t dis obey! So It is because of YOU that I am out here now and in the snow freezing my elemental bottom off! What have you to say for your self! Oh and Of course!! Let me add this! I hate snow!”

Fire flamed around him when he stomped his foot. Kaire looked at him wide eyed. He was a cranky little Assassin wasn’t he.

“Um Sorry?”

“Sorry?! Don’t even get me started! This is all your fault! Now I am going to have to kill you because That’s my orders for one and for two I am quite irritated at you for dragging me out here!”

“FYI! I did not drag you out here! Your demented master did. You can choose to ignore him you know. You can leave me alone and yeah.”

She nodded quickly. Kaire stumbled back and tried to run. Flames shot in front of her. They burned so hot that the snow around them melted away tot he hidden winter grass.

“That is unacceptable.”

“It sounded okay to me.” Kaire turned slowly to face the strange man. Fire was surrounding her. “You could turn the heat down a little.”

“Now why would I do that?” He smirked and the flames from his eyes danced wildly.”When you look lovely sweating as you are.”

Kaire stumbled from heat dizziness. She couldn’t take a step in any direction without falling into the flames. The heat was starting to get to her. The elemental could see her skin starting to turn a heavier shade of red.

“You have amazing stamina. Too bad we couldn’t have met on other terms. I bet you’re a delight in the bed.”

“H..hel..”

She panted and fell to her knees. If there would have been snow under her she would be trying to burrow into it. Kaire would never again breath air it seemed. Her eye lids fell heavy. The fire stole the oxygen around her and caused her to pass out. The elemental thought he had this small battle won and was not paying very good attention to What was happening inside the circle.

“You know. You fire elemental types have one main problem and it drives me insane!” A man ’s figure walked right through the hot burning flames. Kaire was safely protected in his arms. “You talk too much for your own good.”

The elemental back stepped. He had not anticipated This. What was this man? Why could he with stand the powers of the flames and manage to protect the woman all at the same time?

“Who, no “ He paused. “ What are you?”

“Why do you want to know?”

The man placed Kaire’s unconscious form to the side carefully. The blue haired man snarled and raised his hands. The flames behind the stranger started to rise higher and shift. They were attempting to surround the man and Kaire. He smirked and stuck a finger into the flames. They moved around the finger and didn’t even touch him.

“Nice but I don’t feel like a romantic fire in the woods with the likes of you.” The strange man literally sucked the power of the flames into his hand and made them form into a small blue fire ball. “I think this belongs to you.” He threw the flaming ball with tremendous force right back at the blue haired Elemental. “So have it back!”

“No!”

The flames hit him with such force that his bodily form was thrown back into a tree. This individual was too strong for just one fire elemental. His no came in vain as the fire elemental slid down the tree’s trunk and slumped.

“Allow me to introduce my self now that we have danced.” The stranger smirked to the semi conscious man. “I am .” He paused, chuckling at his latest thought. “I think I’ll just let you guess who I am instead. So my face will be the last thing you ever see and my name will burn into your brain forever as you serve me with in the ninth gate.”

“W...wh..” He was broken and battered. Elemental’s bodies were strong magically but their physical forms were not strongly built. “Y..you..”

He watched the strangers body grow and change. Tribal black markings started to draw them selves down the arms and over the face of the man? This was no man. The elemental gasped for all of his tribe knew this beast, this master of the ninth gates. Muscles bulged and the nearly eight foot tall, pale skinned body of a creature stood. His silver hair blew back in a non existent breeze. The tribal markings formed over a bare chest and ran down to a Black loin cloth. Ebony eyes replaced the once silver pupil-less eyes. He had two great taloned hands and large clawed feet. Great Wings of Leathery black finished this unique creatures appearance.

“B..be...” Pain wracked the human fire elemental but he still tried to stand and run. “B..BEEL..”

“I don’t think so.”

A snarled voice escaped the beast behind him. His own flames once again were used against him. They engulfed the human’s body before he could even finish the name of this creature that he feared so greatly. When the fires faded in only a few minutes time they left nothing but ash.

“H...Help..”

The females voice startled the creature and made him turn. His eyes met with Kaire’s barely open gaze. She pushed her self up weakly to try and focus in on her strange apparent guardian. The form of the creature flamed away and left the smell of burning brim stone to waft under Kaire’s nose.

“Kaire!”

“Lucian?” She fell weakly into the snow, unable to support her self on her elbows anymore. “Over here!”

She whispered it loudly with the last vestiges of strength she could manage before falling over. She only caught a glimpse of Lucian running from a path that lead out of Lyre woods and before she passed out. Lucian ran through

She awoke next with the comfort of a warm bed under her and soft blankets around her. Kaire groaned in a half awakened state. The worried eyes of Lucian, Silvan, Serenity, Kitten and Crystalis were all watching her. Each one had picked out a chair in the room and elected to sit and wait for her to wake.

“Kaire?” Lucian was the first one up. “Love?”

“N..not your love.”

She was fine now! Lucian hugged her to him and sighed. His hand stroked up along her back as he did. Silvan smiled and stood. Serenity joined him when he walked to the door. Crystalis nodded to them all.

“I am glad she is okay. I can not tell you exactly what happened for it happened outside my forest. I do not have the abilities there that I do here.”

She whispered it sadly. Crystalis wanted to help them more. She just couldn’t. Silvan nodded understandingly. Serenity too offered Crystalis a smile. Lucian was too busy holding Kaire to notice the three people around him.

“Lucian.” Silvan spoke up. “We will let you two be for now..but I think it best if we leave tomorrow. Maybe if you find out what happened to her you can tell us that as well.”

“Alright.”

Lucian glanced up in time to see the door close behind them all. Even Kitten left to give them some privacy. Kaire forced her cheek away from Lucian’s chest to look up a him. He healed her before. She was badly burnt from the fires of the elemental.

“See how come you need to remove this stone. I was attacked. I couldn’t defend my self.”

“I wouldn’t say that. When I came up on you all I saw was a pile of ash in front of you. You had to fend it off some how.” He slid a finger over her cheek. “But if I remove the stone do you promise to try and behave your self around Serenity and Silvan? I’m serious Kaire. No fights with them No attitude. No nothing but polite responses.”

“I can’t promise that.” At least kaire was honest. “I don’t like her so I won’t be polite to her. She stole the man I should be with from me.”

“You never had him love. You have the man you should be with right here. Plus if that is the way you feel I can not, in good conscious, remove the stone.”

He touched it softly. Lucian didn’t need an all out royal wrestling match to break out between Serenity and Kaire. That is what would happen if he removed it and he knew it. Serenity probably wouldn’t mind a little wrestling match but he just couldn’t allow it. The two women hated each other with a passion. The green eyed monster of jealousy was strong between the two.

“Fine don’t but if I get hurt it is on your conscious.”

“You won’t be hurt. I won’t be letting you leave on your own like that again.” Lucian grinned. “I have the perfect excuse to become even more of your shadow.” He pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her. “Why don’t you tell me what happened.”

“I must have walked outside the forests edge. Who ever is after Prissy pants” She cringed. Kaire looked up at Lucian, who’s hand had tightened in her hair. “Serenity.” Kaire gritted her teeth. “And Silvan must have had that person waiting there for me. Anyways, he was an elemental I think. He controlled fire at a whim.”

“Sounds like it.” Lucian relaxed his grip on her hair.”how did you beat him?”

“I didn’t. I think I almost died.” She saw a look of curious belief pass over him. “ Seriously. There was this thing. I must have passed out because when I woke that thing was there. Plus I wasn’t in the same spot as I had been so I was moved.”

“A thing?”

“Yes!” kaire pulled away. “It was big I think. I didn’t get to see much before It was gone. It left a funny smell behind. Next was you. I heard you calling for me. You know what happened from there.”

“I suppose I do.” Lucian pressed his lips to her cheek. “Should I be jealous of this thing that protected you?”

“What?!” She looked utterly surprised that he would even suggest that. “Okay im not easy alright. If that thing protected me he or it or what ever it was did it on it’s own and not because I asked it to.”

“Okay I believe you. Calm down.” He chuckled. Lucian shifted her to his side. “Well you were pretty badly burnt. I healed your burns.”

“I guess I should thank you for that.”

“You don’t have to. It is my job as your lover and future husband.”

“See we need to discuss this.” She grunted. “I don’t remember saying I would marry you.”

“You did in your own way. Now I think I shall have to convince you again.”

“What?”

She gasped being pushed back onto the bed. Lucian was already sliding from his robes. Kaire scooted back as much as she could until she hit the head board.

“I’m..sick remember..I just got healed..”

“You’re perfectly fine.”

Lucian set about his task to ‘convince’ the maiden Kaire again. This was always fun for both of them, even if kaire didn’t want to openly admit it.
