Chapter 19
“Hey man.” Jason walked in to find Marcus sitting in the kitchen just staring at the wall. He tried to get his attention after he had not responded again. “Marcus!” He tapped Marcus on the shoulder and Marcus jumped.
“Shit! You scared the shit out of me.”
“What’s the problem man?” Jason knew something was up with Marcus because he had been acting weird for a while now and before when he asked him Marcus had said some things was going on with Robin. “Is she still acting crazy?”
“Naw, that’s cool now. And don’t say anything you will regret cause she in the room sleep,” Marcus looked towards his door.”
“Oh, so I take it things are back on track.” Jason still was not fawn of Robin, but he was tried of fighting with Marcus about his girlfriend and her problems. He was just dealing with it now, he wasn’t about to let anything come between him and his friend.
“Yea things are good. Just some other shit I got to deal with now.”
“Need help. You know I got your back.” Jason noticed the way Marcus thought about what he said then shook his head. “Well, when you ready to talk I’m here.”
Marcus laughed at Jason girly shit then punched him in the arm. “Man you sound like a chick with that emotional shit.”
“What’s wrong with emotion?”
They both turned to see Robin standing their in Marcus boxer and jersey with a raised brow. Jason had to admit she looked good, but still she just wasn’t good enough for his boy. There were so many girls that wanted him and Marcus was dealing with Robin’s shit. Jason just didn’t get it because he knew that he would have told her to take her shit and hit the door.
“Not a thing baby,” Marcus stood up and walked over to Robin wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her in for a quick kiss. Jason looked at them and smirked before he excused his self and went to his room. “We didn’t wake you did we?”
Robin looked up at Marcus then shook her head. “Naw you didn’t. I just wasn’t that sleepy. It’s only like three in the afternoon.”
“Let’s do something.” Marcus pulled her in the bathroom and told her to get dressed while he found something for them to do. Robin just looked at him and smiled before she kissed him on the cheek. She knew exactly what he was doing and she loved him for it.

“When you said lets do something, I thought you meant something fun.” Robin sat on the bench at the batting cage watching Marcus. She didn’t know what made Marcus believe that playing baseball would be fun for her. He must have forgot the many times he saw her try to play a sport. She sucked at it and didn’t want to be around anything dealing with sports and sweat. She just sat and watched Marcus have the time of his life hitting ball after ball. “Baby you almost ready. I want ice cream.”
Marcus hit the last ball then stepped out of the cage. “Naw we ain’t leaving until you at least try to hit a ball.” He walked over to Robin and gave her the bat. He stepped out the way just in cast she wanted to hit him instead of the ball. She tried to give him the bat back, but he just picked her up and carried her to the cage and let her down inside the cage. He closed the gate behind him and would not let her out. “Um baby you might want to turn around and hit the ball because as soon as I put this money in balls are going to start flying your way.” Robin jumped and turned, Marcus only laughed before putting the money in the machine. Robin just stood there looking scared and ready all at the same time. When the first ball came she dropped to the ground and yelled. It only made Marcus laugh.
“Please Marcus just let me out of here,” Robin ducked again when another ball came her way. “Oh you are so in trouble. I will never forgive you.”
“Come on baby one hit and all the ice cream you want.” Marcus watched as Robin’s eyes lit up. He knew she loved ice cream.
“Ok one hit and you will buy me all the ice cream I want.” Robin smiled at Marcus as another ball went over her head. She stood up real fast before another ball tried to come. When the next ball came through the machine she swung and missed landing straight on her ass. Marcus laughed his ass off, but Robin just got back up and swung again. When she swung this time the bat hit the ball straight down the middle and she ducked down again. “Ok, ok. I hit it turn that shit off. It’s trying to kill me.”
“Just move over some more and the balls won’t hit you. Then you can just walk out the cage.” Robin did what he said and threw her helmet and bat down and ran into Marcus’ arms. “I did it!” she kissed all over his face then pulled back to hit him. “I hurt my ass in there. You better get me all my ice cream now.” She turned around to walk towards the car, rubbing her ass the whole way. Marcus stood back and smirked before he ran to catch up with her. He knew that he would never forget her face when she ran to him. He had brought her there to show her that she was strong and could do anything. Even stand up to Kevin.
*****************************************
“You should have saw her went her ass hit the ground. It was priceless.” Marcus and Robin had run into Chris and Marty when they stopped by the ice cream shop. He didn’t waster a minute of time before telling them about Robin’s near death experience as she put it. She was now sitting next to him frowning after everyone starting laughing.
“Oh my I wish I saw that.” Marty was just happy to see Marcus and Robin together enjoying themselves for once. “Make-up, $24.99. Gas prices, high as hell. Seeing your best friend fall on her ass, priceless.” Everyone at the table fell out laughing, even Robin.
“Oh shut up. It was not that funny.”
“Yea, but at least my baby finally hit it. Damn this girl is a super star.” Marcus pulled a smiling Robin into his arms and kissed her cheek.
“Whatever. Hey we are about to go. I’ll talk to ya’ll later.” Marty stood up and looked at Chris who didn’t even know they were about to leave. Marty had just wanted to give them some alone time and in fact she could take some alone time herself with Chris.
Robin scooped up some of her ice cream and put it on Marcus lips before leaned in to kiss him. She was really just enjoying herself for once in a long time and it was all because of Marcus. He knew how to make her happy and she loved him for it. “Thank you Marcus.”
“No problem, my love.” Marcus stood up to go get a napkin when Kevin walked into the shop. Before he could even go to him robin walked up to him and pulled him back towards their table. “Not here Marcus. This is not the time.” She didn’t want their night to be ruined by Kevin. He had already ruined too much in her life. She sat Marcus down then sat on his lap scooping up some more ice cream. “Open up or this is going on your face.”
Marcus leaned in and opened his mouth. He really wanted to be bashing Kevin’s face in, but he knew that Robin didn’t need that. “He let me get you home.” Robin stood up and grabbed her jacket. Marcus took her hand and walked out the shop without even looking in Kevin’s direction. He would get his time with him later.
****************************************
Robin watched as Marcus walked around her room not saying a thing just walking. She was trying to let him let out his emotions without bothering him, but his pacing was starting to bother her. They had been back for like two hours and it was his idea to play the game. She had only asked him one question and he was already bagging out. “Come on man you go to do it.” Robin laughed as Marcus just turned to her and frowned. He had been standing their. He did not want to take off his clothes and run down the girl’s hall.
“Come on Robin give me another dare. Like all I told you was to kiss me. Why you go to give me this shit.” Marcus was not about to run around the girl’s hall naked like some dork. He turned to Robin looking for her to change her mind, but she just shook her head. “Man you are so dead after this.” He pulled his shirt off then his jeans. When he was about to pull his boxers down Robin screamed.
“No I was just kidding. I can’t believe you really going to do it.” She was shocked that he even thought about doing it. Marcus looked at her and smiled happy that he could keep his dignity. He picked up his jeans and was about to put them on when Robin started to pull them away from him. “You can always just run around my room nake. I’d love it.” She smiled when he let go of the jeans and pulled his boxers off. She tried to look at his face, but all she could think about was looking at that part of him that gave her so much joy. Marcus was enjoying this too. He walked over to her and she moved towards him, but they both jumped when the door opened.
“OH MY GOD!!” Marty ran back out the room and knocked. “Is it safe now?” Marcus picked up his jeans and boxers and put them on in a hurry. Robin was so embarrassed she had never been caught like that before. It was like being caught by your mother or something in an awkward situation. Robin walked over to the door after Marcus was dressed and opened it to a laughing Marty. “Sorry bout that.” Marty walked in and laughed at Marcus who excused himself. He left the room so fast.
“Damn girl no wonder you love that man. I ain\'t never seen nothing like that.” Marty fell on her bed as if she was ruin out from a day of sex. “How in the hell do you walk?” Robin picked up her pillow and threw it at Marty before she sat on her bed. It still felt weird to her to be laughing and happy, but she would not change a thing. She was finally living her life the way she wanted to live it and was not afraid anymore. Everything was falling in place and now was the time to get even because now she had everyone that mattered on her side.
