Take Me From This Pain, Kevin's story

\"Well?\" Brian prodded gently.

Kevin didn\'t know where to begin. He wanted Brian to know about his relationship with Jason, but he wasn\'t sure his brother would see it as a positive development. Brian was passive when it came to his own welfare, but Kevin\'s was another story. He understood that his brother would feel overly protective of him especially in light of the years Brian had spent shielding him from Gary. He sneaked another peak at Brian and caught him staring. Swallowing he looked back down at his Jason\'s clasped hands. Despite the short peak, Kevin saw that Brian looked much better than he had when he and Jason had left. He\'d gained some weight and even a little muscle. That shouldn\'t be a surprise, though, as he\'d mentioned the defense lessons Matt and Ryan were giving him during one of their phone calls.

If Brian couldn\'t accept that he was gay and in love, so be it. He loved his brother but he couldn\'t leave Jason. Anyway, Brian hadn\'t indicated that sexuality would matter to him, so maybe Kevin was blowing things out of proportion. Delaying the inevitable never kept it from happening, so Kevin looked back up directly into his brother\'s sharp green eyes and drew in a breath.

\"Brian, don\'t get mad,\" he said slowly.

\"Why would I be mad?\"

Jason was almost sure that Brian would support their relationship, almost, but not a hundred percent. He knew that the small blonde beside Matt worried that his brother wasn\'t ready for a relationship and that Jason wasn\'t as serious as he should be. The tall, dark haired youth was determined to prove that he was committed to a long, and hopefully permanent relationship with Kevin, though. He was sure he would be able to win Brian\'s approval if he was given the chance. The question was, though, was Brian too jaded to give him the chance? Jason didn\'t think so, but only time would reveal this for sure. He looked over to see Matt sending him a silent pledge of support. Well, he would know Brian better than anyone these days. Jason squeezed Kevin\'s hand, letting him know that no matter what happened, he was there for him.

\"It\'s just,\" Kevin sighed. \"It\'s just that you and I never discussed this before and I don\'t know how you\'ll react.\"

\"React to?\"

Jason frowned. Brian sure wasn\'t making this easy on his brother.

\"React to me dating Jason,\" Kevin finally huffed. \"Man, why do you always DO that to me? You pick and you pull until I can\'t take it anymore!\"

\"How else do you expect me to get anything out of you?\" Brian shot back in a startling display of annoyance. \"I\'ve suspected something was going on for months, but every time I try to ask about it, you change the subject. Yet, every time you thought you heard me hedging, you jumped all over me. This double standard is pretty annoying, Kev.\"

Kevin\'s mouth dropped open. He was shocked that his brother was being so forceful in front of other people. He was doubly astounded to realize that Brian had suspected the relationship all along. This was the old Brian, back with a vengeance. Apparently standing up to Gary had done more for Brian than anyone realized. The younger blonde was now a little wary of his brother. If the old, more stubborn Brian was back, Kevin was going to have a tougher time selling Trent to him. He shook his head, getting back to the immediate problem. Brian looked pissed, and Kevin wasn\'t entirely sure what it was that made him that way.

\"Um . . .\"

\"HOW COULD YOU KEEP THAT FROM ME?\" Brian exploded. \"We\'ve never kept anything from each other before! How could you think I\'d ever hold that against you?\"

Jason hid a smile. Phew! It appears Brian\'s pissed about not knowing, rather than that Kevin is gay. He saw that Matt was smiling, too. It seems that whatever he\'d been doing to bolster the small blonde\'s confidence was working.

\"I . . . um I\'m sorry,\" Kevin stammered.

\"About keeping this from me?\" Brian seethed. \"You SHOULD be!\"

\"Hey, you kept what happened between you and Gary from me all weekend!\" Kevin retorted. \"How do you think I feel about that?\"

But Brian looked unimpressed. \"All weekend until I got here to tell you face to face and show you that I\'m fine! I would have told you over the phone if I wasn\'t coming to see you.\"

Kevin didn\'t know what to say to that so he chose to remain silent.

\"Um, are you unhappy about us?\" Jason asked Brian carefully.

The small blonde turned to him, apparently sufficiently satisfied with Kevin\'s embarrassment. He gave Jason an assessing glance and suddenly the dark haired boy question the wisdom of drawing attention to himself.

\"You\'re not playing him, are you?\" Brian finally hissed.

\"No! I love him!\"

Kevin smiled triumphantly at Brian. He knew his brother couldn\'t argue with that outburst. He was also thrilled to pieces with Jason\'s public admission, something he hadn\'t had before.

\"Well, I can see he loves you,\" Brian went on.

Kevin\'s face reddened. He felt like a girl asking her father for permission to date. Brian seemed to notice because he smirked back teasingly. \'Yeah? Payback\'s a bitch, bro! Just wait until you and Trent go through this with me!\'

\"I\'m fine with you two,\" he finally said. \"I know you\'ve both had a lot of time together and I can see that Jason takes you very seriously, which is all I wanted for you.\"

Kevin smiled at his brother gratefully. He knew that Brian only wanted him to be happy. He just seemed a little upset at being left out of the whole thing. Kevin felt guilty about that and resolved not to keep things from Brian again. Okay, not keep things about himself and Jason from Brian. His plan with Trent was another story.

Jason was immensely relieved. Brian\'s blessing meant a hell of a lot to him and Kevin. Now he could relax a little. The only one left to tell was Gina, and that could wait. A long time, as far as Jason was concerned. She may be an understanding person about most things, but about a relationship going on between two minors in her own home probably wasn\'t one of them.

\"Do you think Brian\'s gained some weight,\" Jason asked later that night as they lay in bed after making love.

\"Yeah, he looks good,\" Kevin smiled.

He was still feeling good about getting Brian\'s blessing earlier. It felt good to come clean about it, too. Kevin had been feeling guilty about that whenever they were on the phone and Brian asked about Jason. He didn\'t know that Brian had figured something was up though. Who knew that he was so perceptive? It wasn\'t that Kevin thought Brian was ditsy. He just figured his brother had enough to worry about without Kevin adding to it. But Brian was tuned in to Kevin\'s moods and he knew when something was up.

\"It\'s such a relief that he\'s fine with us.\"

\"I know,\" Kevin agreed snuggling into Jason\'s chest while the bigger boy played with his long blonde hair. \"But I figured he would be.\"

\"Yeah,\" Jason smiled before capturing his lover\'s lips in a gentle kiss. \"I love you so much, Kev.\"

\"I know, Baby,\" the smaller boy breathed.

Jason cut off any further response with a deeper, more passionate kiss, letting his tongue claim the small boy\'s mouth.

\"You\'re a beast in bed, you know,\" Kevin laughed.

\"You\'ll adjust,\" Jason grinned, throwing Kevin\'s words back to him.

\"Mmmmm, and happily.\"

Jason moved to Kevin\'s neck and nibbled on his ear.

\"You\'d never believe we just finished making love fifteen minutes ago,\" Kevin giggled.

\"I\'ll never be satisfied, you know.\"

\"I hope not!\"

Kevin gripped Jason\'s hips and ground their erections together. Jason gasped and prayed for self-control. He knew he wouldn\'t last long though when Kevin scratched his fingernails down his back.

\"Kevin!\" Jason hissed. \"You know what that does to me!\"

\"We\'ve only been making love for a day, Jay,\" Kevin grinned. \"I\'m still learning all of your erogenous zones.\"

\"Well here\'s a hint,\" Jason growled as he rolled on a new condom. Kevin was already sufficiently stretched from the last time, so Jason wouldn\'t have to waste any time. \"Yes, sir,\" Kevin grinned. \"Now you\'d better kiss me or I\'ll scream the house down and bring your sister running in here!\"
