I have something to tell you

A/N: Hi! Sorry I never put one of these up to explain myself. I just realized that many readers of this story probably have no idea that it has a \"brother\" story in the Angst section calles \"Take Me From This Pain: Brian\'s Story\". That one is darker and filled with Brian\'s trauma, which \"Kevin\'s Story\" touches upon but doesn\'t really delve into. Please take a look at it when you get a chance, because the two stories do have some crossovers.

Thank you for the wonderful reviews! Please keep letting me know how I\'m doing!

-------------------------------------------

Kevin woke feeling disoriented and exhausted, but pleasantly sated. Jason\'s arms were still locked tightly around him and he reveled in the larger boy\'s body heat. The room was quiet except for Jason\'s light breathing and Kevin carefully turned over to watch his lover sleep. Jason was beautiful awake and even more so in sleep. His dark lashes were striking against his light skin and his dark hair was tousled from sex and sleep. Kevin knew his own dark blonde hair probably looked just as messy, but he didn\'t care. He didn\'t need to keep immaculately primped for Jason. He loved Kevin just as he was, no pretentiousness about it at all.

Kevin reached up and gently touched a lock of Jason\'s hair while he debated how he would go about telling his brother he had a boyfriend. He knew he couldn\'t tell Brian about sex. The poor guy probably didn\'t want to know anything about the act, especially since Gary had removed all of the positive aspects of it so violently. But he did want Brian to know that he was in love and happy with Jason. His brother fought so hard to make sure Gary didn\'t spoil any chance at happiness that Kevin might have, and he would probably welcome this news.

Brian probably knew there was an attraction between Kevin and his friend before Kevin himself knew. Thinking back, he knew without doubt that he did. Brian was always pretty perceptive where Kevin\'s feelings were concerned. He always seemed to know when Kevin had been in a fight, even if the blows never reached the small boy\'s face. Brian could always read him. That\'s why he taunted Kevin about not being able to leave Jason when they were still in California. Kevin smiled as he remembered his brother\'s face. It was one of the few times the old Brian, the one he was before their mother died, had popped out to goad his brother. Kevin missed that Brian so much.

He used to laugh a lot back then. He would make Kevin laugh, too, with the jokes he made up and the stories he told. Brian used to be a never-ending source of entertainment for his brothers and friends. Both brothers used to have friends back then, too. Not a lot, but enough. Funny how those same friends deserted them as soon as their mother passed away and Gary took over their lives. Kevin would always hate that man for what he\'d done. Maybe someday he would get what was coming to him. Kevin hoped karma actually existed because no one deserved it more than Gary.

And Matt was another problem. Kevin had been trying for weeks now to find a way to unstuck Brian from the jock\'s side and get him together with Trent. Kevin didn\'t know who the hell Trent thought he was fooling, he and Jason had known almost from the start that he was gay. He never dated any of the girls who trailed him, and from a straight man\'s standpoint, some of them were pretty hot. A few even had great personalities to match. But Trent said he was concentrating on his studies. A load of bull, Kevin decided. He\'d seen the way Trent looked at him and he\'d have had to be a complete moron not to notice the interest he\'d taken in Brian ever since Kevin told him the story and showed him Brian\'s picture.

Jason didn\'t think it was a good idea to try and set the two up, but Kevin knew Trent could protect Brian. He also knew that if Brian gave him the chance, Trent could help him rebuild his life. Matt couldn\'t possibly do that. Kevin didn\'t believe that Matt could commit himself completely to a relationship with his brother at all. He\'d have to love Brian, and Kevin didn\'t believe Matt could love someone he used to hate so much.

\"I hear the wheels spinning, Kev.\"

The small blonde looked over to catch Jason\'s sleepy smile. He grinned back before leaning in for a passionate good morning kiss.

\"Just thinking about you, Baby.\"

\"Mmmm,\" Jason sighed. \"I dreamt about you.\"

\"Oh really?\" Kevin slid onto his back and pulled Jason on top of him. \"What did you dream?\"

\"I don\'t know if I can tell you,\" Jason smirked wickedly.

\"You could just show me then.\"

\"You asked for it.\"

Jason lowered his lips down to Kevin\'s and teased them open while his hands started re-exploring Kevin\'s body. Soon all thoughts vanished from the small blonde\'s mind ans he gave in to his lover\'s touch.

---------------------------------------------------------

\"Brian!\" Kevin jumped into his brother\'s arms as soon as the door opened to Matt\'s dad\'s townhouse. \"I can\'t believe you\'re finally here!\"

\"Me either!\"

Jason shook hands with Matt and the two stood back to watch the two small blondes excitedly jump around.

\"They\'re cute, aren\'t they?\" Matt asked, not taking his eyes off Brian.

Jason nodded and laughed as he returned his gaze back to his boyfriend. He knew how Matt felt and just hoped that Kevin didn\'t try anything stupid to hook his brother up with Trent.

\"Kev, we have to talk about Gary.\" Brian said, suddenly serious as he pulled Kevin to sit on the large couch.

Jason turned a worried look to Matt before taking a seat next to his boyfriend. Matt stoically took a seat on Brian\'s end and placed a comforting hand on the small blonde\'s shoulder.

\"What about him?\" Kevin asked, suddenly scared. He knew there was something keeping Brian from talking to him this weekend. He\'d thought Matt was just trying to keep him from Brian at first, but there seemed to be more to the story. Now he almost afraid to find out what it was. Brian swallowed and looked down as he gathered his thoughts.

\"You want me to tell them?\" Matt asked softly.

Kevin glared at him for a second, unseen by anyone but Jason who tapped his arm and shook his head. He sighed and sat back while Matt soothed Brian with a small back rub. Brian had relaxed into it and Kevin silently fumed as he returned his gaze to his brother\'s face and waited for the news.

\"No, he\'s my brother,\" Brian sighed. \"I\'ll tell him.\"

Slowly, Brian began telling his brother and Jason what happened the night of the prom. Kevin\'s insides contorted in a mixture of terror and rage as he heard that Darren Williams had helped plan it. Then he almost went out of his mind when Brian said Gary wanted Darren and Steve to hold Brian still while he shot him up with whatever stash he had on him.

\"That son of a bitch!\" Kevin screamed jumping off the couch and pacing around the room. He had nowhere to go, but that didn\'t matter. He felt the need to move. \"He was going to DRUG you?\"

Jason tugged at Kevin\'s arm as he walked by and they locked eyes for a moment, Jay\'s dark brown one\'s filled with sympathy and warmth. Kevin squeezed his boyfriend\'s hand willing Jason\'s strength to pass to him. He looked back at Brian and noticed the curious look both he and Matt directed at them. Damn. Now wasn\'t the time for this. But he could see from Brian\'s expression that it was coming directly on the heels of this conversation.

\"So what happened?\" Kevin asked, sinking back down to his seat.

\"Gary\'s in ICU,\" Matt finished for Brian, as the smaller boy continued to stare at Jason and Kevin intently. \"I\'m hoping he never leaves that place, personally. I beat the shit out of Darren and broke a couple of his ribs.\"

\"You did?\" Kevin\'s eyes widened. He was grateful for that. But he was annoyed that Matt was making it more difficult for Brian to leave him. \"Well, hopefully that\'ll teach him.\"

\"That and the case against him, anyway.\"

\"You pressed charges?\" Kevin returned his gaze to Brian who nodded briefly and turned his eyes back to Jason, who sat with his arm around Kevin\'s waist.

Jason watched Brian while Kevin and Matt talked about the case against Darren and how Steve was only too happy to testify. Brian\'s demeanor remained passive but his eyes shone with an emotion Jason wasn\'t used to seeing on him. On Matt, yes. In his own eyes as he looked in the mirror, absolutely. But never before on Brian, though he admitted to himself that he didn\'t know Kevin\'s brother all that well. This was Brian in full protective mode. He was going to make sure his little brother was okay. Jason didn\'t mind, really. In Brian\'s shoes, he would likely have the same reaction no matter who he was dealing with.

\"Have any news for me, Kev?\" Brian asked with a slight smile on his face.

\"Um, yeah actually,\" Kevin said, reddening a bit. He took Jason\'s hand and squeezed it again for support as he prepared in his head what he was going to say. Oh boy, he thought. This should be fun.
